Okay into the 3rd book and wondering why people seem to give it such good ratings, actually wondering why I gave it 3 stars. So far, over 1000 pages into the story and there has been little to no character or world development. EVERYTHING is told from the perspective of the main character, EVERYTHING. ALL other world or character development, the VERY little there is, has been in their relation to the one 14 year old boy who is the main character. World development is limited to a few abandoned ruins and farm steads that he and his friends have hidden in and the small town that he grew up in, and a few chapters in an alternate dimension of some kind that consisted of, what was it?, 64 people? Everything interesting about the story is the, more annoying than interesting, love interests of a 14 year old boy, and above all the CONSTANT threat to the boy and his friends, really they are ALWAYS in some kind of extreme danger with only very brief times of rest. I keep reading because I keep thinking that SOMETHING has to happen soon. The ONE big magic battle near the end of the 2nd book was good.

Really enjoy these books but did catch my self getting frustrated with how many times the trio got captured, I hope the trio are a little more elusive in the next couple books great story overall I've never really been a person that reads a lot but since i read burdens edged i can't stop it's actually fun thanks

Good book in a very interesting series. The pace and progression of the characters feels real add opposed to growing in power and ability at impossible rates. While some things go their way, it's clear their trying to survive a war.
Haunting the Deep :: The Witches of BlackBrook (Volume 1) :: The Briar King (The Kingdoms of Thorn and Bone - Book 1) :: Man Candy (After We Fall Book 1) :: Arcane (The Arinthian Line) (Volume 1)

Still going strong! I find these books to be simple, enjoyable stories with fun characters and exciting adventure. I can't wait for more! Waiting anxiously to read the rest of these heroes' tales, this one just went by too fast.

This series just keeps me asking what next? The author has a vivid imagination. This will hold your interest. I can't begin to see where it is going. Just have to keep reading to find out what happens.
