Great read for those who recently had a relationship end. The book explained not only my feelings, but I also explained what my ex was going through and why she likely acted the way she did. The book really helped make sense of all this upheval in my life and help me place things into proper perspective. If you just ended a relationship and are looking for insights and answers, then this book is a must read.

I usually glance through the introductions at the front of books. However, this was the first one I started reading and found myself reading every page of this book's introduction. I actually could not put it down. Yes, it was that good. I have not yet finished the book; but I will. I really like the way is is written and find it to be an easy read thus far.

If you got dumped you need to read this. Understanding what is going on will help you get out of the "funk" and, make you more aware of the whys. Truthful and thought provoking if you are able to take some responsibility. It was passed to me and, I have passed it on to several people. Get it and, get out of the "dumps". Still a very good read if you were the dumper.

Ten years ago I went through a very painful divorce and a friend gave me a copy of this book. Reading it from cover to cover slowly brought me back to sanity. Since that time I've purchased numerous copies for friends that were struggling and it helped all of them.

Over ten years ago, This book profoundly helpled me during a very humiliating and painful divorce. Using the information provided by Bruce Fisher I was able to rebuild myself so I stopped attracting the wrong type of men. I am now in a healthy happy relationship. I buy this book for all my loved ones going through breakups.

Very helpful and supportive when you are going thru a separation or divorce......a positive affirmation of building stones to reach the mountain. ( I have been the dumpee and am 3 months into the separation, and have 2 teenage girls)

I bought this book based on glowing reviews. The book makes it sounds like you just need to read/work through the stages and the exercises, or go to their seminars, and VOILA! You'll be healed, better than ever. The content is excellent, but it has too much rah-rah positivity for someone who is shattered, raw, feeling lost and overwhelmed. That is what felt harsh about the book. The authors seemed to imply that people going through a divorce need to "pull themselves up by their own bootstraps" by working (hard) through the stages. In those first several months, I could not work on myself or do exercises, and reading through them provided no comfort, just a sense of being inadequate to the task. So I tossed this book in a pile after a quick read triggered a sense of being a party-pooper for not getting with the program. I found Life After Divorce by Wegscheider-Cruse to be helpful and supportive in the early stages of separation/divorce. Now, 9 months on, I'm ready to pick up the Rebuilding book and see what it has to offer now. If you are reeling from the end of a marriage, hang in there. True friends who can listen, enjoy activities with even though you feel broken and sad, are worth more than any book on divorce. It does get better over time.

i was recommended to read this book by friends and my therapist after my divorce. This is awesome at gauging where you are emotionally after your divorce and the stage your currently in. i have related to this book and the stages it says divorced people through in the process of healing. Very helpful book and helps explain all the emotions you go. i loved this book well worth the money and well worth time to read.

Wow, what a disappointment. Yes, I'm an English Professor, so I'm sensitive to poorly written prose, but much of this book is unreadable. In addition to the need for a good editor, much of the advice that was given is just a re-hashing of Kubler-Ross and the stages of grief recovery. I do believe that the seminars and workshops referred to in the text are important, and I do believe that the participants' lives have been changed for the better, but somehow the experience doesn't translate to this text. Most importantly for me--and yes, like many I am trying to rebuild my life after a painful breakup--I found that the advice glosses over the surface of the issues that I'm facing. I kept hoping for an in depth discussion of several issues that never materialized. I was expecting bedrock, a grounded and well explained examination of the process of rebuilding. What I got was a quick weekend trip to Sedona. Interesting, aimed at a popular audience, but hardly life-changing.

Just went through a divorce. This book was not helpful to me. It was way too repetetive but not helpful in what they were saying. I have a doctorate degree, and I still found this book a little confusing. I read about 10 pages and haven't touched it since. The building block diagram is cute and all, but I don't agree with everything and how it was presented.
Save your money and go out to eat with friends and laugh.
