Just the right amount of dark, deception, sex and romance…

“Tears heat my closed eyes, and I reach up to hold him, to wrap my arms around his neck, as we communicate in was words can’t capture.”
Tia Louise’s The Prince & The Player is a refreshing take on your traditional love story. Narrated by two of the main characters, The Prince & The Player is the story of two sisters and two brothers and two hot and steamy relationships. Zelda and Ava Wilder, two Americans criminals find themselves in a sticky situation and make a deal which brings them to the beautiful fictional European country of Monagasco and into the lives of Crown Prince Rowan Westringham Tate and MacCallum Lockwood Tate, younger brother of the crown price, heir presumptive, captain of the Carabiniers and Duke of Dumaldi.

This was my very first Tia Louise novel and I loved it, I am officially obsessed with this series! I am the first to admit that the story does start out slow as Tia creates her narrative and gives us the Wilder sister’s and Tate brother’s back stories. At the urging of other readers I took my time getting through the first quarter of the book and I was pleasantly surprised when I finally got reached the nitty gritty of the story and watched the Wilder sisters immerse themselves into the lives of the Tate brothers. By the time I finished the first half of the book I could not put it down and had to finish the story in one sitting. Tia Louise painted an amazing story that mixes just the right amount of dark, deception, sex and romance together.

I downloaded The Prince & The Player a while ago, and while browsing my Kindle App I decided it was time to read it. This story was told from two perspectives: Zelda (Zee) and Rowan. I would've thought that it would mean that these two would fall for one another. However, after they meet, two romances begin, the plan changes and there's danger developing in the background.

Rowan and Cal are royal brothers, and Rowan is due to step up to be King. He needed to find a partner and was supposed to pick someone of noble birth. They are both introduced to Zee and Ava, and the sparks fly, but not in the way that was planned.

It was interesting to see these relationships build, and how quickly they fell for one another. They all got along so well, and soon both Zee and Ava found it hard to keep up the charade as their feelings were becoming real. Zee was under some pressure as she was supposed to be doing a job and old acquaintances returning didn't help her end game.

I haven't read Tia Louise before and I was hoping to really enjoy this one, but I found some of it a bit unbelievable and it was hard to connect to the characters. There were times where I saw the twists coming and I was like 'Don't do it!' but of course they would. Also, the story isn't over, it was left open for the next book, that I'm unsure I want to continue. Oh well, I tried... maybe one day...

After reading the whole da.......ed book I find that it's a cliffhanger. The story has an interesting plot but you will never know how it ends unless you buy the next book. Maddening! I won't read another book by this author. If I were you I'd find something else to read.

Two love stories in one. The characters are good. They're likeable. The story held my attention but then it kind of lost me for awhile but then it got me again. My problem with this book is my pet peeves, I hate cliffhangers with every fiber of my being.

Zelda & Ava Wilder are two sisters who have lived a hard life. After losing their parents they are orphans who are put in foster care. At the risk of abuse, Zelda runs with her younger sister & vows to always protect her no matter what. Being on their own since they were kids, they lie, cheat, steal, whatever it takes to survive & get by. Zee has become quite the con artist & has taken them from living on the streets to a roof over their heads. One evening while working a con in a Miami casino, the ladies cross paths with a man from Europe. He witnesses Zee in action, & offers them a proposition that will give them great wealth & freedom. Zee & Ava just want to be safe & have enough money to take care of themselves. This man is the uncle of the crown prince of Monagasco. He wants Zee to seduce the future king & make him appear to be a careless leader. Zee & Ava head to Monagasco on a mission where they believe they are saving a country & then leaving as very wealthy women.
Rowan & MacCallum Tate are two brothers who are royal. One is the crown prince & the other is considered the "playboy prince." After the loss of their father, Rowan is being groomed to take over as King of Monagasco. He is very noble & always tries to do the right thing. He takes his position very seriously & knows he has to be the responsible one. This means his focus is to serve his country, while attempting to stay out of the tabloids & avoid the paparazzi. Many critics are saying he's too young, inexperienced & reckless. He's out to prove himself as worthy of the title of King. He's shown strength & is known for being powerful & tough.
When the conspiring uncle he exciled returns to town with two beautiful women in tow, Rowan & Cal are both stunned by their beauty & intrigued. Sparks fly & lines get blurred as passions ignite between these four gorgeous people. As the uncle plots his revenge, two relationships are forming & things are seriously heating up. The ladies are being pursued by two sexy swoon worthy brothers & are beginning to feel like they are living in a fairytale the way they are being wined & dined. Between royal balls, fancy hotels, lavish casinos & parties, they feel like they're living in a dream. They are being pampered & treated like queens by their very own prince charming's.
As these couples fall for one another we get two beautiful love stories. The sisters are finally truly happy & it threatens to be all taken away. I really loved this book! It had two hot alpha princes & was full of danger, suspense, & excitement. Can't wait for the next book! I need more!!! :D

My first read from Tia Louise and I was impressed. This is not your average cinderella story. The sisters were orphan yet managed to survive. The princes weren't some rich egoistical jerk instead they're working hard to keep their country under detain by another. I really enjoyed their 'adventure' that managed to keep me on toes.

From thieves to con-artist, Zelda "Zee" Wilder and her sister, Ava went to Monagasco under the threat of someone who despised the royal family. It was supposed to be an easy job. Zee's target was the future king, Rowan Westringham Tate instead she fall for the playboy younger brother, Cal. The plan has changed and the person who behind this started to move and they're not gonna like it.

I was more into Zee than Ava. She didn't want her sister to take this path. Zee always protect Ava and they couldn't easily leave each other. IMO, Zee was more bad-ass and Ava's the tender-heart and loving one. Their trip to Monagasco isn't for vacation; but on a mission to seduce the princes. But Zee got the wrong one.

Because of the scandal, Rowan was pushed by the queen to have a bride. But Rowan isn't attracted to any of them except for Ava. The mysterious woman from Texas. I really want to like Rowan but it was really hard. I couldn't find any attraction to Rowan that makes me want him. But I found myself interested in Cal. He's free-spirit and laid back. Cal's interest with Zee was more passionate than Rowan and Ava.

The story told from 2 POV's between the eldest, Zee and Rowan. I enjoyed the Wilder sister's adventure at first, but when they reached Monagasco and started to romance the Princes made me lost interest. The insta-lust was unbelievable. I must say the Princes was kinda stupid. Both Zee and Ava came from Texas by her exiled uncle, yet they believed him? Didn't run background check or something? Hmph. Cal was more intuitive and smarter than Rowan. I couldn't believe Rowan was easily distracted by his dick. I hardly connect with Rowan and Ava. They were so passive and cheesy and insta-love... BOOM! Marriage propose, people...

The story was well-written yet very slow-paced with the romance. Really wasted time but too much sexual activity. They're just horny all the time. However, I found my interest again in the end of their supposed-to-be mission. When every lies unveiled and the truth came, it was more thrilling and exciting. The villain of the story was cold and ruthless. Ended up with heartbreak and cliffhanger, I couldn't wait to read the next book.

The Prince & The Player is a brilliantly haunting and phenomenally passionate story of discovering that love is not a terrible weakness but a powerful strength that deserves to be cherished and protected at all costs. This is a journey where a true and honest love is discovered at the worst possible time. While this love makes no promises, offers no commitments, and draws no lines, it will shred your heart and shatter your very soul. A deep and searing connection will develop, and there is truly no going back. Without requiring or asking for anything, you will find yourself being willingly given to this wondrous adventure. This isn’t anything you can hold or calculate or even fully grasp. It can only be felt, received, and savored. Lay down your assumptions, and walk forward with an open mind, an open heart, and a desire to experience.

Zelda knows how to do one thing and do it well – take care of her sister Ava. While her options have been limited, she had made the best choices she could and strived to be a good, caring sister. Above all, family is paramount and nothing tops it. When a dangerous stranger offers her what appears to be a fairytale dream, she sees it for what it is – a lie dipped in honey, so she simply refuses. However, when she finds herself forced between a rock and an impossibly hard place, she unwillingly agrees to sell her soul to the devil himself. Rowan is caught between two deep desires. He wants to prove that he was born to follow in his father’s footsteps while desperately trying to break free from those same obligations. He can’t let his family down or those who depend on them, but how can you coldly push your own heart aside for the sake of duty? Thankfully, he finds some comfort and solace from his younger brother Cal during this extremely stressful time. When these two worlds collide, can each of them stay focused long enough to reach their long sought after prize, or will the silent danger that stalks them remove them from the race entirely?

Watching this magnificent story unfold before my eyes left me absolutely breathless and on the edge of my seat. At times, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, but at the same I was so thrilled to watch this stunning plot unfold. There were some beautiful twists that held me utterly captive. No matter what happened, I wouldn’t stop reading. I couldn’t stop hoping, and I wouldn’t stop feeling. This book pulled my heart in from the very first word, and made sure that I felt and experienced everything it had to offer. What a brilliant and overwhelming ride!

Tia Louise has created yet again a story that completely shreds my heart while filling it with astounding hope. I can’t get over how her writing just continues to blossom and develop beyond my wildest imagination. She is a wonderful author who is sure to thoroughly delight and sensationally entertain. You don’t want to miss out on the incredible masterpieces from this incredible lady! As quick as you can, grab this book as soon as you can.

"The Prince & The Player" was something I was not expecting - in the best possible way! This was my first Tia Louise novel and it was an extremely cool and innovative Romance and Thriller, Sexy, and Fun. It was like a Cary Grant/Hitchcock Casino-esque kind of story with Royal Political Intrigue and Cinderella thrown in to boot. Not to mention that there are TWO Heroes and TWO Heroines with a Happily Ever After and a Cliffhanger leading into the second installment of the Dirty Players series. Now if that doesn't make you want to buy this book I don't know what will … oh yeah … It's FABULOUS!!! The Romantic Chemistry is swirls and the Sexual Tension is thick. The first Heroine is Zelda or Zee she is the oldest sister of the second Heroine, Ava. The sisters ran away from a terrible Foster Home, when they were 17 and 15 years old, in order to get the younger Ava away from a horrible situation. The girls live in Florida and their plan is to keep on the move living off scraps and work under the radar jobs. They meet up with a con man/gambler who teaches Zee the art of "beating the house" with some card counting skills and some special devices they earn enough money to keep them tied over for a few months until the next con. Ava isn't in on the gambling however, she is an accomplished pickpocket and an excellent distraction to security in a pinch. The first Hero is the Crown Prince Rowan soon to be the King of Monagasco he's been the decision maker since his father's death seven years ago and the stress has taken it's toll. That strain led to a lapse and a subsequent scandal - he was surreptitiously photographed with his pants down and a sympathetic lady was providing "relief". His mother has decided that in order to clean up his image he needs to find a wife. His younger brother, who has been caught in more scandalous situations is truly the "Playboy Prince", he is the second Hero, Cal. Cal is a mischievous scamp with a wink and a line that skates the edge of humorous and naughty. The brothers couldn't be more different but they are extremely close and have each other's back. Which when the Heroes meet the Heroines it becomes extremely important. Since not only do the girls bring love, light, and attraction they also bring lies, deception, and danger with them.
"The Prince and The Player" is not at all what I expected there are two Point of Views but one for each romantic story. Tia Louise knit together a sexy, thrilling, fun Romance in an opulent location and she populated it with engaging and charming characters and a titillating storyline. Lavish Balls, High Stakes Gambling, Formula One Racing, Marathon Sex-capades, and Assassination Attempts fill the pages making this a fast paced action packed novel. Hang onto your hats because just when you get a Happily Ever After you also get a Cliffhanger. Wow! I can't say enough about this book it was fantastic!!!

“Cinderella meets Ocean's Eleven” was the phrase used that intrigued me the most about this book. Who doesn’t love Cinderella? And Ocean’s Eleven is one of my favorite movies. Thus, combining the two sounded like heaven and something I’d love. And I was right, The Prince & The Player by Tia Louise was suspenseful, captivating, sexy, and had me lost in its pages from the prologue.

Zelda—can I just say how much I love her name—is a con artist doing everything she does for her sister, Ava; to keep them save and fed. Ever since she was seventeen and ran away from the foster system with Ava. A chance encounter, an opportunity for blackmail, and desperation to keep Ava save, led them both to a foreign country, in order to deceive a seemingly unfit crown prince and take him down.
Rowan—the Crown prince—and his brother Cal are used to being in the spotlight, always surrounded by people—especially women. Neither one lack of female attention, but an encounter not so much by chance, left both of them reeling. Ava and Zelda turn their world upside down. One a playboy, the other one an arrogant future king, but neither saw the girls coming.

With this starts a journey of deceit, lies, royalty, wealth, love, and family ties that you never saw coming. It’s filled with fun and sexy times. Tia Louise drew me into her world with the first page, had me hooked, and left me wanting for more with her impeccable writing. She made me want to be like Zelda when I grow up—strong, independent, and willing to sacrifice her own happiness for her sister’s. All of the characters, from the heroes to the heroines and even the villains, were very well-developed.

I loved this book. It was so very well-written, gave me all the feels, and I couldn’t get enough. I can’t wait for the next one.

One twisted plot for revenge.

Zee is the counterfeit courtier in Reggie's plan to humiliate Rowan, the controlled heir who kicked him out of the kingdom. In return, the sisters get a permanent spot on Easy Street.

If only Zee didn't keep finding herself in a clutch with Cal, Rowan's playboy younger brother. Ava's no help, as she finds quiet walks in the moonlight discussing poetry and leadership with the brooding, future king irresistible. Even more irresistible is kissing his luscious lips.

The whole plan is falling apart, and neither sister is sure she wants to stop it.

Review:
Ever since the first novel I've picked up from Tia Louise, I was hooked - from the way she takes the time to describe her scenes, to developing her characters and even the way that she'll create a link between her books in one way or another and yet still manage to keep them as standalones so that new readers can pick up any book and instantly fall in love with any character and not feel as though they've been hit by an eighteen wheeler. In the latest series, The Dirty Players Duet, Tia Louise puts a spin on a classic fairy tale of Cinderella by introducing two orphaned sisters who were thrown into the Foster care system and have always relied on one another for everything. Being the eldest, Zelda has always taken the biggest risks to take care of her sister Ava and when Reggie, an exiled duke with family ties to a crown thrown, approaches her with the opportunity to be able to provide for the both of them for the rest of their lives by doing one simple task - to discover ways to prove the princes unfit to rule. The only thing the girls never factored u. Their equation as they prepared themselves for their mission was falling for the royal princes and realizing that just maybe Reggie was lying to them from the very beginning. As Ava and Roman get closer by discussing some of the simpler things such as poetry and leadership, and Zee realizes that the younger playboy prince Cal is more than just looks, the chemistry and even the bond between not only the couples, but with the four of them was so incredibly we'll written that I feel it as I read along. Each scene was a page turner that had me hooked, wanting more and at the edge of my seat and all I can honestly say about the ending is that I can't wait for the next instalment if the Prince and the Player is any indication of what to expect as drama, action, suspense and of course, the romance. I've been a fan of Tia Louise's for quite some time and having had read this novel only reaffirmed all the reasons why I had thoroughly enjoyed her books from the very beginning!

*I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Thank you so very much Ms.Louise for sending me a copy of your book!! I'm so honored and I was so happy when it arrived on my Kindle!! :)

Ever since I read the sneak peak for this book I knew that I'd be in for a treat and oh boy was I!! It was my first time reading Ms.Louise's work and I was not disappointed one bit! Everything was refreshing and a different take on an everyday romance. I liked that no matter what was going on in the story there were surprises with every turn of the page that left me shocked at times in more ways than one. The different point of views gave me a better feel of the characters and I liked that the story flowed so well that I was captured by it completely.

My mind was at a crossroads many times and I absolutely love it when a book like this one has me struggling with my feelings throughout reading. It was suspenseful, romantic, shocking, and very sexy. Ms.Louise created a world where conning and royalty collide which leads to sparks flying. I need to pick up more of her books as soon as possible! Also, after that ending I was pretty much left with my jaw on the floor so i can't wait till the next instalment comes out in September!! :)

Zelda Wilder was a character that had been dealt a terrible hand in life and by being homeless for a majority of hers she became a con artist to survive. Everything she did was to make sure her sister stayed alive and protected her at all costs. She was kind and even though she conned others she had a heart along with an intriguing mind. She was a great heroine!! Ava Wilder was a character that was rather innocent and a major fan of poetry. She loved her sister with all of her heart. I thought she was sweet as well and I hope she has her own point of view in the next book!

Rowan Tate was a character that had the full responsibility of being a king but also adventurous. He rubbed me the wrong way at first and I honestly couldn't stand him. As the story progressed I found myself liking him more and more. He was powerful yet endearing with a romantic streak in him. Cal Tate was a character that enjoyed being a prince but not in a throw it in your face type of way. He was sexy and flat out hilarious. I loved him from the get go and his relationship with his brother Rowan made me happy. I sure hope to see more of his point of view in the next book!!

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a read that's romantic with shocking moments that you'll have to read to believe. Most of the things that happened I didn't I expect and that's what led me to reading all of it in one sitting. I would have never thought cons and riches would go together so well. The Prince & The Player has a little something for everyone and it's never dull I can tell you that. If this sounds like your kind of story, what are you waiting for?! Go on and One-Click this baby Today! You'll be thrilled that you did!! 5 Stars all around!! :)

If you are looking for a sexy suspenseful read then you need to check out The Prince & the Player by Tia Louise. I was intrigued by the title alone and once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. It was intriguing suspenseful with some hotness mixed in. I cannot wait to see how the story unfolds in the next book!! This book is told in dual point of view and is book one is a two book series.

Zee and her sister Ava are master con artist. Having to survive on their own for years, they have made a living at hustling others out of cash, jewelry, or whatever they can get their hands on. While coning a French man in a casino, they are soon put in a position to run the biggest con they have ever done. Meet the Crown Prince and have him fall in love with Zee. But what Zee didn’t bargain for was falling in love.

Rowan being part of the wealthiest royal families in the world is used to fast cars and fast women. He and his bother Cal have earned the titles of being the Playboy Princes. But when their father dies Rowan becomes King and has to settle down. Their mother is set on finding Rowan a wife so she holds a ball for him to find a potential match.

With Zee having her eyes on Rowan she didn’t expect to find love elsewhere. She was there to do a job and falling for someone other than Rowan wasn’t part of the plan. Likewise, Rowan didn’t have his sights on love. Seeing as just one of his Mother’s schemes to get him to settle down he doesn’t take it seriously. Until the one that captures his soul.

Who do they end up falling for? What can of worms has Zee opened by accepting to be part of the con to get the king to fall for her? Will Rowan see Zee for what she truly is? What happens when lies and secrets are exposed! You will need to read The Prince & The Player to find out! I thought this one was a solid 4 stars.

I loved this book,it was Cinderella crossed with Princes and the Pauper in a modern day twist.

This book is in dual POV of Zelda and Rowan, but it's with a twist. First off Zelda and Ava are sisters who were orphaned at a young age so with Zelda, being the oldest, she's always looked after Ava,So when they turn to petty crimes too knock of casinos.

This is when they encounter a certain someone who is about to change their lives forever, when Reggie offers them the chance to help him dethrone a king of a monarch in a region of France,His persuasions are less than honourable.

When Zelda and Ava arrive in France to implicate the grand scheme they meet the King Rowan, who Zelda has to try to make him fall in love and marry her, however things don't go to plan especially when Rowan is clearly infatuated with Ava, while Zelda falls for Rowan's brother Prince Cal.

With the feeling they've been duped, Zelda and Ava feel guilty about all the lies they told the King and Prince when they realise they've been played, with dire consequences.

Will the royals be able to forgive the two sisters and help them? I guess we will see what happens after that cliffhanger.

What made this book so enjoyable was it has a bit of everything, deceptions, thrills and love stories. I loved how both POV told of their respective loves and it was the first time I've read anything like it, it was like a mini drama series and I can't wait to see how it unfolds in the next book. While I liked Ava & Rowan, I couldn't help love Zelda and Cal, who doesn't love a "playboy prince".

I received this book in return for my honest opinion and I patiently waiting on September.

This was my first time reading anything by Tia Louise and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet story. They was so much to this amazing story that Tia Louise has given us that it just sucks us in and keeps us there from start to finish and then leaves us wanting more from this author. This story is told in split POV between Rowan and Zee's and it works amazingly ,I really enjoyed the depth of this story which make the plot work so well this has a twist of a fairy tale worked woven into the story also, which gives us one smooth storyline. The author has given us a story that takes us on a journey that gives us everything from lust, betrayal, romance ,some comedy, and some hot and sexy male alphas. Zelda and Ava are two amazing sisters who's had a rough start all there life's , every since they lost their parents way to soon. These two beautiful young women learned how to survived on the streets .But then there's Cal and Rowan who happens to be royal princess who are living in a small country ,that is half the size of the world ,this kingdom has members that are in government that is happen with the way that Rowan leads. These sisters are threatened into a con that involves the royal brothers ,but the brothers only want what their father the king would want for his people ,but the people that want them out is in it for greed and thirst for power. But can there do what they need to do? This amazing story should appeal to many readers for we have cons, racing, royalty's and action and some suspense ,mystery, and it was mighty hot also. I could go on and tell you more but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend that you read this touching story ,you won't be disappointed.

“The Playboy Prince is gone, and instead this conqueror has me, taking what he wants.”

“Zelda Wilder is no princess. The closest I am is a dirty Cinderella, an orphan on the run, and that’s not the kind of girl for a prince.”

The Prince and The Player was such an exciting read and follows the story of Zelda, Cal, Rowan and Ava. Told from multiple points of view, this story will take you on an adventure like no other. What starts off as a con and chance to make enough money for Zelda to care for her sister Ava, quickly turns into more….

The Prince and The Player is well written and very entertaining. It will pull you in from the very first page and will keep you guessing as to how things will turn out. This story will make you laugh and it will make you swoon. It will frustrate you and have you holding your breath. Add in some suspense and a bit of danger, and you’ve got all the right ingredients for an exciting read.

I really enjoyed the way that Tia Louise wrote this story. We were not given one love story. No, we were given two. Two stories that were connected, and flowed together so well. I couldn’t help but fall in love with these characters and hope that everything would work out well in the end….My only complaint, is that the story is over. The story ended with one heck of a cliffhanger that will leave you begging for more and dying to see what will happen next!

With THE PRINCE & THE PLAYER, you get two love stories in one. Zelda and Ava live life con to con, struggling since teen-hood in order to provide both food and shelter for themselves. Having perfected their craft, neither suspected they'd be made, but the one who makes them has a new con for them: infiltrate into the royal court and have Zelda become the love interest for Prince Rowan. But things don't go as planned when both sisters find themselves falling for the wrong brother, and the stakes become even higher when neither can keep up their charade for much longer to both the world and with one another.

I fully enjoyed the intrigue and dramatic suspense into Ava and Zelda's plan. It kept your heart pounding, never knowing if or when someone would slip up, or close calls would be had. And getting the two romances also feels like a bonus because each couple is very different, but also incredibly irresistible because of how sinful it is. I think my only thing on the book is that I would have preferred POVs into the other two siblings, as we only got half of the story. I think because of that I didn't connect as much as I would have loved to, but I was still able to totally follow along and enjoy the story. It's rich, it's sexy, and it's filled with secrets, THE PRINCE & THE PLAYER will lead you down a royally fun road where you'll be begging for more.

"Cinderella meets Ocean's Eleven" ... you are not kidding! The con is on and the twist will blind side you!

Imagine a principality like Monaco. Now imagine political intrigue with evil men who no qualms about killing members of their family to acquire power. Throw in two "hunks of burning love", one the future king and the other his brother, and you have the setting for a HOT, passionate, intense romantic affair. Oh, I forgot to tell you! The con artist is a beautiful American professional gambler with her sister tagging along. This one is page turner!

Although not their usual con, they have no choice but to play this game. They are over their heads with the intrigue and the evil men that forcing their "hand". Zee and Ava are in for the experience of their lives and it may cost them their lives while they are at it.

Please note this does not end in a cliffhanger, but it does leave you in the middle of the action. The next book is due out in September, so we do not have to wait and see what happens next!

I am reviewing the audible version of this book.

This was my first book by Tia Louise and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed her writing and the way she told the story. I liked the plot twists and how things did not go as the characters had planned. It had me on edge.
I had this book playing in my ears constantly, and if it were on my kindle I would say I could not put it down. The story moved at a nice fast pace. Something was always happening to hold my attention. There were feels, heat, danger and threats throughout!
I connected to Zelda and Cal a great sea more then Ro and Ava. There was a great deal more chemistry and excitement with them. Something seemed to be missing between Ava and Ro for me. Their love was maybe to quick for my liking... and Ava didn't seem to be the same character as she was before they were brought to Monagasco. I know she was pretending to be someone else but I couldn't see her personality shine through. Zelda seemed to be the same snarky woman to me, which I loved! Part of this could be how they were portrayed in narration as well.
The only real thing I didn't like in the narration was the male accent. Ro was made to sound super uppity and pompous/pretentious, in a way. The male narrator did not do it for me. His characterization for Cal was not as bad. I just didn't dig it. The female narrator was great!

The Prince & the Player is a fast-paced, intriguing read that left me wanting more! I love ‘modern day fairytales’ with twists so this was right up my alley.

The story starts with two sisters, Zelda and Ava Wilder. Zelda and Ava have had hard lives. Zelda is Ava’s older sister and will do anything to protect her, to provide for her. Zee is a bit of a con-artist but she also has a good heart. When she gets blackmailed into helping take down a prince in a far away country by seducing him, she really has no choice. The uncle of the prince is threatening to expose not only her but Ava, and she protects her sister no matter what.

Rowan is the Crown Prince of Monagasco. He’s not looking for forever, but his mother is insistent he find a wife. When his sketchy uncle comes home with two American’s, he’s intrigued. Zelda is all good and fine, but it’s the beautiful Ava that catches his eye. The Crown Prince has a brother named Cal who becomes enamored with Zee. It’s quite a tangled web. Zelda is so conflicted. She needs to do the right thing for the job and for Ava, but at the same time, she starts to develop feelings for Cal. It’s quite the mess.

This story was told in dual POV- Zelda and Rowan. It’s really interesting to get both of their perspectives. Zee with Cal a bulk of the story, and Rowan and his feelings for Ava. Zelda is a fantastic character. She has lots of heart, is a great person and even though she makes some mistakes, she is loyal to a fault to the ones she loves and would do anything for them. Cal is fantastic as well and I love him for Zee. Rowan and Ava’s storyline wasn’t quite as exciting for me, but I still liked them.

After the ending, I’m anxious to find out what's going to happen next with these four! Looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
