A great way to build conceptional knowledge of College/AP physics for general phys 1-3. If you're really interesting in learning about what is going on, I recommend getting one of these if they're optional for your class. The only issue is that you'll have to find a source for solutions, because it's not overly helpful without them.

The description was detailed and true, although I didn't realize that the student workbook also came with it, but I had no problem with that seeing as how I got both for cheaper than my school was selling just the textbook

Book came in perfectly good condition as expected. When it comes to the content of the problems, there are quite a bit of mistakes in the back of the book that do not make sense. After dishing out about $300 dollars for this textbook, I at the very least expect my money's worth of editing and review. Also be aware for any Chegg/Slader users as of 09/2016, there are zero completed solutions on those websites (I haven't checked others if there are any). The stretch that I have to make is I have the 3rd edition of the textbook and that appears on Chegg/Slader but its a hit or miss on whether it appears in the 4th edition, I'd say about 30-40% are similar. By the way it's a pretty thick textbook it contains 41 chapters of the Physics series at community college.

I absolutely hate this book! It is very difficult to follow. I have a Fundamentals of Physics book from 1988 that I can understand better than this! If you simply need it for an alternative source of information it's great, but not as a primary source of learning.

I guess you're probably looking at this because you need it for class, but the problems in it are simple beyond belief and this is a waste of your time and money. Go in on one with as many people as possible and make copies or take pictures if you really need this for your grade (because you won't be learning from it).

This is simply another example of text-book companies almost blatantly stealing from financially stressed college students.

I used this text for electricity and magnetism. I enjoyed the text and felt it was clear enough to sit down and read. If you wish to understand electromagnetic induction or how magnets put electrons in motion this is the book for you!

The best physics book for college students and is written in a way that you can just pick it up and read it just because you are interested. There is a newer edition out, but this is a great book to have if you are learning physics.

No code included. The product name makes it seem like it includes mastering physics online access, but it does not. This is still a decent price for it, but the product name is misleading. You'll have to buy a product code as well if you're renting.

This textbook is great so far! Purchased for an introductory physics class, and really enjoyed it and the text.

The Mastering Physics assignment that go along with this are crap, but the textbook is well written with great examples.

Physics for Scientists and Engineers Plus Modern Physics Plus MasteringPhysics -- Access Card Package, 3/e

I rentedthe ebook as a required portion of my Physics course. After spending over $100 I find myself deeply disappointed, as the fabled access card is nowhere to be found with my rental. If there is any way to "return" this ebook so that I can purchase the book as well as an acess card from elsewhere I will gladly edit my rating.

The description states, "Second Edition is accompanied by MasteringPhysics(TM)-the most advanced, educationally effective, and widely used online physics tutorial and homework system in the world."

This version certainly does not include a MasteringPhysics physics access code and I am now forced to separately buy the code for $66 online as I have homework due tomorrow and was waiting for the book that I thought would come with an access code to sign up.

I have had this book for calculus based physics I & II and I have had no problems understanding any of the material. It has sufficient examples. The only issue I have is that it is literally the largest and heaviest textbook I've ever owned. Both professors have even mentioned that fact with the comment "there's no need to bring it to class".

The textbook is hardcovered and it comes with the access code, but still cheaper than my school's book store. I feared that I could receive the book late but, thank God I got it it super early. About the textbook, my teacher barely gives us notes, but thanks to this book, I do not feel disdavantaged at all, the explanations are very clear and the examples they give make you start to think like a scientist. Awesome!!!

I appreciate the book from a student perspective and like the layout presentation. Formulas and depictions with in the book are not clear unless you actually read the book, a forced reading approach to understanding the content.

If you need this book for a course or desire to own it out of personal interest, I would recommend getting this version not the loose leaf binder version as you will own it forever (no one wants to buy back the loose leaf version).
