The book begins nicely but then it just bogs down. Three quarters of the book is spent in this city... way too boring. I was getting as frustrated as the characters in the book. Come on, Terry, get to the point. I hate to admit it but it seems that the book could have half the amount of pages. You get the weird feeling that they are milking this series into four books instead of three.

Come on people the book is incredible. it leaves just enough to your imagination to captivate you and make it hard to stop reading. the storyline is great, twists and turns many. albeit predictable sometimes but not always. He's constructed a written world in which the characters of the story are not the only players - the world goes on outside the focus of the story and you see it happening as you go along. certain people that enter and leave the story before you realize they were probably a very complex being. overall i think the book had great depth and i think some have underrated it.

Walker Boh is "the man". The complexity of Brooks' mind and his ability to bring all the loose ends together for a monumental climax is astounding. I pray that the creator (Brooks) will awaken Boh soon. This is a must read novel.

I have read all of the Shannara books (the Triology and the Heritage) except from the Magic of Shannara that I am planning to read VERY soon. I can assure you that these are my best books I have ever read. I am pretty young and I haven't read that many books but these are wonderful. Battle descriptions are really good expecially the ones in the Elfstones of Shannara (where the demons nearly get the Elf city of Arborlon), or in the Druid of Shannara (where Walker Boh is trying to get the Black Elfstone from Uhl Belk in the stone city). My sincere compliments!

This story takes a darker turn then other Shannara books. I loved that aspect about it. This is my favorite shannara book by far! I also liked the fact that it isn't the typical fantasy storyline, which I can't stand. The ending is fantastic, the characters are the most well developed I've read, especially the assassin.

Terry Brooks has made another great Shannara book. This book was fantastic in it's continuation of the Heritage series. The details of Walker Boh's coping with the loss of his arm and magic and the inner turmoil of Morgan Leah after the loss of his sword is supurb. The indepth scenes and character profiles lend to another hit for Brooks.

Walker Boh, who had denied his order to restore the druids, was setting out to do just that. with a misfit crew of strangers as his companions, he sets out to find the find component to complete his task. fate has the upper hand and she will play the cards as she chooses; someone may lose

excellent choice to break off one character and follow him. it allows the reader see the character in-depth and to meet his companions without confusion.
