Dan is a very experienced pythonista that knows how to transfer the knowledge acquired in a very easy to follow, learn-by-doing manner that I personally really enjoy. I admit I was a bit reluctant on buying this book first, but 5 minutes of reading proved me wrong, if you like Python and thing you know-it-all, get ready for some (delightful) surprises!

Even after programming Python for a couple of years, this book was packed with neat little tips and alternative ways of doing things that were just a little cleaner, a little more performant, or a little easier to read. I learned a lot, the writing style is super approachable and overall very upbeat and encouraging. Definitely recommend.

I found this book extremely helpful. Dan does a great job explaining new vs old python versions and even talks about performance. If you are just starting or are a seasoned python developer, this book is a must. These tricks are little golden nuggets. I refer to this book especially when the internet has so many conflicting opinions.

The book is fantastic. I really liked the author's writing style--it's very difficult to put the book aside. The examples are clear and detailed, perfectly matching both advanced and 'still learning' Python users.

Great book! Its meant for people who want to augment their Python skills, not for absolute beginners. There's a lot of great tidbits in here to write better, cleaner code. The Youtube videos on Dan's channel are also a great compliment. I also love the word "Pythonista"

I bought the early release and have watched this become a masterpiece of work as it has matured. Honestly, I learn something new every time I dip into a quick read of this book. Furthermore, the paperback is a steal at only $20!

I feel excited with the code snippets, which give me more insights of how things could be done better, simpler, and clearer. Although I didn't understand a lot yet ... comprehending comprehensions gave me some enlightenment, already worthwhile the dollars.

This short book really up'ed my python game. Concise, but sweet code snippets that really come in useful. Dan does a great job of getting across the important points, without a ton of fluff. Some of my favorite topics are: "with" statement, underscores and dunders, Four ways to format strings, functions as objects, Lambda functions, Argument unpacking, Named tuples, Dictionaries, Maps, Iterators and generators.
I also really enjoy Dan's conversation style - he does a great job of walking one through the more complicated issues. I look forward to anything Dan is writing - its worth a read!
