Read this Book! It truly can change your life!

I just loved the message in this book and I hope many others will get a copy. It's a wonderful thing to realize that our thoughts hold so much power for positive change and that we DO have a choice in what we draw to us and the people in our lives. I think we humans have built-in 'forgetters' that we can alter our attitudes/thoughts/action; I know it was a good reminder for me. Another great thing about this book is that I believe it could be read and understood by children from 11 to 111! One person at a time, we can/are changing the world! I'm so happy that the 'Source of All' has blessed us with Bob and Melissa to pass on an enlightened, loving gift. Obviously, I can't praise this enough!

I loved this book. I fell in love with the characters and was inspired by how their lives shifted as they learned and evolved. I will read again. I highly recommend!!! If there is a sequel I will buy it!

Wow! Reading this book (Kindle version) has changed my life. It helped me remember so many things I had forgotten about how we think and act. I have believed in Bob's Spiritual philosophy for 40 years now and yet, have just learned about the Mala beads. I now have my own beautiful set of turquoise blue beads and although I don't do all 108 repititions every day, I do what feels like it is right for me. Please, if you need a positive lift in your life, new information, refreshers, reminders, whatever...read this book!!! It will change your life!

If you are open to the power of positive thinking, this story can be very uplifting even reaffirming. If you are more negative or skeptical in your thinking, this book may not appeal to you initially - However, it is quite possibly the only book you need to read to change your thinking. I loved reading it and plan to slowly practice it's teachings. Meditation with a positive message.

It is an ok story, not what I was expecting but I learned about the meaning and significance of a Mala. Not a life changing book for me , but it could be a good start for somebody trying to learn about meditation and positive thoughts

I loved the book and will recommend it to anyone who wants to change their life for the better. Although I ms familiar with the ideas in the book,it was great to see them presented in such an entertaining and instructional manner. It did introduce me to mala beads and I now have some of my own. Definitely a keeper of a book. I plan to make a gift of it to several friends and family. I have both of Bob's books and will be ready to buy the next one! Keep up the good work.

This kindlebook of the Magic Mala;A Story That Changes Lives by Bob Olson is a transformational fiction type of book that basically touches on how events can turn around for the positive regardless of how adverse/challenging things become in life. The Magic Mala;A Story That Changes Lives by Bob Olson touches upon the story of a writer about to undergo some serious changes in his life and the story paints how the writer, who seems to be a protagonist of the story, is also shaped by his love for his high school sweetheart.

I'm pretty generous with my reviews, and I adore books - but this is poorly written, just for starters, with stilted dialog and poorly developed characters. A particularly annoying one is the best friend from high school, who constantly calls the protagonist, Robby, "Pinhead" and "Dogsbreath," and the like. But he's enlightened (although he's never mentioned it to his dear friend) and therefor successful.
Also irritating, in retrospect, is that both Robby and his wife have to sell things that are precious to them, but Robby gets his baseball stuff back, while his wife Mary sells a piece of jewelry left to her by her deceased mother, and never sees it again. She does get a job with the jeweler, though, apparently because she cried, although said jeweler is usually cold-hearted and selfish.
More to the point, I think the whole mala thing is misrepresented. The book lead you to believe all you have to do is recite the mantra for 40 days, and wonderful things will happen. If you then stop, disaster will fall upon you, witness Robby's father, in the hospital at death's door - until he starts working with the mantra again, and makes a miraculous recovery. Thomas Ashley-Farrand, who is an expert and writes wonderful books, with DVD's attached, so you can get the pronunciation right, says that part of the function of the mantra is to lift karma from you, and, he says, if dreadful things happen, especially around Day 30, that's good, because karma wants to hang on, and it's proof you are doing it right. In my case, the dishwasher broke, and the Post Office lost or mis-delivered 5 packages, and UPS and FedEx both suddenly couldn't find the house. Plus a few other things.
In the back of the book, it says you can download a free PDF of the top five mantras used in the world. I tried to find that, and finally emailed them to ask where it was. Oh, you have to sign up for the mailing list to get that. Also, the website sells malas - all for over $100! So get a mala, I highly recommend it - but get it from the store. Prices start under $10, and the expensive ones are about $20. So save money, get a mala, and get a book of two of Thomas Ashely-Farrand's. And watch out for the days around 30.

Whilst the essential message is uplifting, the writing is poor, the characters one-dimensional and the content re-rehashed. Nothing new here. However, I applaud the writer for walking his talk and self-publishing.

I bit of a fantasy world story. Who has time in their life for all this dramatic conversation? Found it to develop into a very boring story. Sorry. Just not real to life. I keep reading to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Getting a new book is _clearly_ a reason not to go into work, right?! I honestly can't recommend "The Magic Mala" by Bob Olson enough. It came yesterday in the mail and it's also available as an ebook.

I had high hopes as it's being compared to The Celestine Prophecy, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior and The Alchemist. I'm only seven chapters in and it's exceeding all expectations. I'd also put it in line with The Leader Who Had No Title by Robin Sharma, as far as content goes, and Harry Potter as far as "please, just one more chapter...why am I falling asleep at 2am?!" goes.

Even if you're a person who doesn't like reading, I have a feeling that you'll love this book. If you are a person who loves reading, do yourself a favour and buy the paperback copy of The Magic Mala. It's one you'll want to have in your collection.

This book is so valuable to me. Since reading it, not a day goes by that I don't use or think of its principles and characters. This book has the potential to change your life depending on how far you take its ideas, but just reading it alone will give you plenty to think about and plenty of ways to pursue your life's goals in a more promising and fulfilling way. I highly recommend this book. I've read it three times and have picked up on additional ideas from it every time. I plan on rereading it every time I need a positive refresher on life.

This is a most amazing book! If you are looking for a way to manifest your dreams....this is the book for you! It is delightful non-fiction that incorporates all the major concepts of metaphysics in an easily understood and entertaining way. I now use my mala daily and I am conscious of my focus and my intentions. Thank you Bob.

What a great book! I have enjoyed and appreciated the author's radio program for several years since the passing of my husband. Bob Olson's presentations are like having a chat with an old friend: comforting, uplifting, and informative. Bob's book, The Magic Mala, is just the same. I especially enjoyed how he was able to create a metaphysical primer of sorts, offering just about all of the most important nuggets of wisdom that would normally take years to read and study if done one at a time from many different ancient and modern texts. Yet, the author was able to fit those precepts into one little book by crafting an entertaining story with characters and situations that just about anyone in the modern world can relate to. If you are new to the concepts of manifestation ... or if you are a longtime student of metaphysics, you will enjoy this story all the same. Though I have always been an avid reader, my schedule these days leaves many of my "get to" books unread on the shelf. So I got the audio version of the book. The audio reader was great at bringing the story to life with his mellow voice and his ability to impersonate the character voices. Thumbs up! Dina D. Smithson

The Emotional path it takes you on are tears of LOVE, JOY, HAPPINESS & a lot of HOPE. I will Re read & recommend this book continually. Love doesn't begin to express how I feel this book. Soon after beginning this book, I had a huge shift into Abundance - in many areas of my life. I could even feel a vibration coming through as I read. I am very grateful to the author for sharing this valuable information and excited to share it with many others!
