The Cruelest Month (Chief Inspector Gamache Novel)

I bought the boxed set for a birthday present for a dear friend who also loves mysteries. My friend was not yet familiar with Louise Penny. Needless to say, she's now a fan! By having the first three books in the series boxed together, I didn't have to hunt for each one. Thanks for having the boxed set & all of Ms. Penny's books.

Glad I went ahead and ordered the first three books in this series. If you like MC Beaton's Hamish MacBeth series; then you'll also love this series. Perfectly written, rich but not boring, a 'fun' murder mystery with great characters. So glad I found this author; had been looking for some time for a series that I wouldn't get bored with... and this one is fun. One can say a touch of Charlene Harris but more realistic. I'm a new fan.

Love this little boxed set. I had already read these (borrowed), but wanted my very own. I have since collected the series and am waiting for my pre-order of her newest book.

I love Louise Penny's writing! Her Chief Inspector Gamache series has captured my imagination completely. She writes with genius and soul. I admire her talent immensely.
