Really pretty and well written. I bought this for my brother per his request. While losing a young family member we read this book to her and her brother. It really helped and I'm happy that we had this book during such a hard time. I think this book will forever make me cry.

This is a beautifully illustrated book about the Next Place. Bought it for my son after the death of his grandfather. Very comforting, will keep it forever. I would totally recommend it for anyone after the loss of a loved one, but especially children.

Great book to help children and adults grasp the very abstract idea of heaven. This book is light and has a floating feelling to it. Have purchased over 10 copies over the years to give to familiies who have suffered the loss of a loved one.

Unfortunately, I had to buy this book for someone very dear to me who unexpectedly lost his son over the summer. This was the perfect book for him because it does not say anything about God but just talks about the next place we go to after death. It is well written and speaks from the perspective of the person who has passed on. It tells the reader that they are ok and talks about where they are now. Truly, a great book especially for anyone who is having a little trouble understanding and or accepting God.

I am a pastor who has worked extensively with children in grief. This book is wonderful for all ages but especially for the very young. It is not specific to any religion. It is truly an indispensable tool in my work.

My friend who passed away arranged to have this sent to me after she died. It is beautifully written and illustrated. In turn, I was honored to give a new one to a friend who recently lost a loved one. I find this book touching and hopeful.

Perhaps this book was intended for children but it is a great comfort to adults as well at a time of grief and stress. After hearing it read at a memorial service I was moved to purchase a copy for my husband who, sadly, had occasion to read it at another memorial not long after. We will be purchasing another copy to replace the one we gave to our friend.

This a book of quiet reflection concerning our life after death. The illustrations are beautiful and the words comforting. On the surface it seems to be a children's book but its content is for everyone. A wonderful gift for someone who has just lost a loved one.

Purchased this book after the sudden death of my brother. I read this book 2-3 times a day for several weeks and found it very comforting. I will be giving this as a bereavement gift in the future when someone I know loses a loved one.

My 5 year old son had been obsessing about death since losing his uncle. When I ordered this book I told him that if his uncle had known he was going to die he would have told me to get this book and read it to him (my son) so he would know that even though he died that he was OK. The day I got it and read it to my 5 year old he was very fidgety through the entire book and after I finished the book he just rolled his eyes and asked if he could go out and play with his friends. I've told him we can read the book whenever he wants but he's never wanted me to read it to him again.

I would say it's a great book for adults, not so much for kids.

The Next Place is an excellent example of how poetry, illustrations, and creativity can be blended at the highest level.
Good for Third Grade up on a discussion level of death and what they may feel the "Next Place" might be like. An excellent way to encourage
anyone to use configuration to write a poem and then illustrate it.

Not only does this help children and adults to deal with grief of the loss of a loved one, but it is an excellent reading to close a memorial service, funeral, Celebration of Life service. Rev. Leslie D. Nelson, Heart of the Savior Ministries, Inc., KPDQ TrueTalk Radio talk show host

I have purchased this book many times over the past few years. It is another way to look at the loss of a loved one...very well written and the pictures are perfect. We keep copies on hand because as we are getting older, there are more friends of ours that are leaving for 'The Next Place'. The friends and family left behind seem to appreciate this book. Sometimes, I just leave it on a table in the funeral home with a personal note inside. Whatever way you chose to use and share this book, it is priceless!

Warren Hansen has written and illustrated a work of gentle comfort for anyone who has lost a loved one. I have bought numerous copies for friends since someone gave me a copy when I experienced the traumatic death of a close family member. The text is filled with lyrical descriptions of the next place we'll all go - where existence is peaceful and painless. I never tire of reading it. It's equally comforting for children and adults.

Having had my parents, my wife and (today) my sister pass on to a very much better place, I can promise that this is an exquisite book that has helped me over and over. But you will cry each time that you read it. God bless the author for his work - it is so comforting.

This book was a given to my grandchildren when my husband died last year. I found so much comfort in it that I ordered one for myself. Since then I have given 5 or 6 copies to friends. They, in turn have said that they have given copies away. It's value in comfort cannot be measured by the price of this incredible book. The Next Place

This book represents a simple, values-affirming perspective on the transition from life to death. It is elegant in tone, rich with metaphor and offers to the reader the opportunity for reflection and discussion. Well done.

This book brings to life the wonderful hope of life after death. The words and illustrations exceed my imagination about my reunion with loved ones. I found it in the funeral home after my father's death; I read it again in the same funeral home after my mother's death; I finally had to buy my own copy after I read it again, in the same funeral home, after my brother's death. It gave me much comfort and hope after his 6-week journey to The Next Place. I now give it to others during their time of loss.

This book is simply wonderful. Non-denominational, there is no mention of religion or God on the pages yet it can be read by anyone. A wonderfully worded explanation of what happens in the next place we go (after we die). I can see the reading of this book with a child as a way to create conversation about death and dying. The colorful artwork dominates each page with only a sentence or two per page creatively placed amidst the illustrations. There's not a single person in any of the illustrations which is all the better as the focus is on the "next place" and what it might be like, different from what we know as now. It was a heart warming read, even for me as an adult.
