I have been reading the Pendergast books since Relic came out. I have been pestering my parents to read these books ever since. For my father's birthday last year, I finally broke down and sent them the audiobooks to get them started. Now they are both hooked. Brimstone is probably my favorite book in the series, and my mother is reading it now. we check in every morning to see where she is in the story. I have loved these books and the characters have become friends in my quiet moments. Now, its become something we can share and enjoy together. I cant wait for the next Pendergast book in the series, and I find myself rereading these books over and over again, yet always find new clues I didnt expect. I want to thank the authors for doing such a great job year after year! Brimstone is when things really begin to fall apart for Pendergast and dear D'Agosta, and parts of it read like a Ian Fleming car chase. I could not turn the pages fast enough at the end, it was so compelling!

Once again, Preston and Childs leaves one on the edge of their seat. I have not read all of their books in order but it doesn't seem to make a difference. This one provides a link to the next in the 3 book series.

I would recommend this book to any and all readers. It was not a page turner for me, but I never hit a slow point in the book, I was always able to pick up the book and read it. I would think 100% of readers out there who enjoy thrillers will find satisfaction from reading this book.
Brimstone Wedding :: The Brimstone Murders (A Jimmy O'Brien Mystery Novel) :: Mick (CAOS MC Book 1) :: Beneath the Scars (Masters of the Shadowlands Book 13) :: Fire and Brimstone (Chaos of the Covenant Book 2)

As always from this author, scary, well-written and spell binding!
I would recommend this to all my friends who enjoy a good read.
A bit freaky and scary, but so interesting, Couldn't put it down.
I've read most of this author's "Pendergast" series, and thoroughly enjoyed each one.

I had started listening to the Pendergast books a long time ago and have just recently been catching up on the earlier books. I find this book is well written and continues to build the Pendergast character.

Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child continue to impress me with their ability to grab my attention at the beginning and keep me interested through to the end. I love that I really didn't know who the killer was until the end of the book.

Great read. I had never heard of Preston & Child, and this was my first book by them. Now I find myself reading every book in the series and believing that Pendergast is real!!
This is a great one, if you like to be scared and read deep into the night.

It's an exciting, thrilling mystery novel until the end. At that point, Pendergast's fate is left hanging. This was the case with Crimson Shore. At least the authors of Brimstone give a hint as to Pendergast's fate in the very last paragraph. A shame, since this is otherwise a good read. The trail to the killer leads Pendergast and D"Agosta, the latter whom is seemingly banished to the Southampton Police Department, to Florence,Italy. Along the way they encounter Bullard, a devious villain who plans to sell a secret formula which enables China to advance its missile program. Two other characters, Count Fosco and Reverend Buck, figure into a plot which initially relates to Dr. Faustus and the devil. So does a rare stradivarius. Worth a read despite my objections.

An fun read with many deceiving subplots, eccentric characters, and surprising conclusions. Typical, P & C. Even though Diogenes is only mentioned briefly, it's the first in a trilogy covering the beginning & end of the hazel and smoking blue eyed, twin brother of Aloysius.

Reading Brimstone has left me mentally, emotionally, and psychologically exhausted!!! The tension created by authors Preston and Child had my heartbeat hammering in my ears and my breathing coming in gasps! I couldn't find and crack the cover on book two of the Diogenes Trilogy, "Dance of Death," fast enough!
