This book was fun, nothing amazing, but an enjoyable, at times raunchy, drug, violence and insanity-fueled adventure that was just so distinctly Florida. It was kind of like finally getting the back stories behind all of the "Florida Man" headlines.

I really enjoy geting into books with series, Michael Connelly, Lee Child, David Baldaci, you get it. So when Kindle suggested I might like this I was well I will try book 1. For me that is as far as its going to go. Some parts of the books were funny, but it was so bloody and much murder that it didn't get beyond, oh can I please finish this.

Several times I almost put it away, but kept hoping it would get better. I went back before writing this and reread the other reivews, maybe they saw something I didn't. But for me, book 1 was all it gets.

Entertaining book - If you like the movie Pulp Fiction this book is a similar in content and movement. Grew up in FL and great read to revisit history and locations around the sunshine state along with plenty of violence and dark humor

If you like a mantic character Serge is your man. I am not sure that I like him but I am very sure that I would NOT like to meet him anywhere. He is very violent and unpredictable. I am wondering why I am still reading Tim Dorsey's books. This Serge should be in jail and I hate to think that there are people much like Serge out on the streets. I have yet to finish the book, so maybe Serge will become more likable in the end.

Bought and read this while looking for something with a bit of humour. Found it. Strange book, strange characters, strange plotting but surprisingly, it works. I don't know if you could call Serge Storm an anti-hero or a villain. All in all, a good read.

Having read all of Carl Haissen's novels, this comes out of the same vein. More gritty, more bizarre characters and same old Florida. I'm happy to have found Mr. Dorsey's novels as I happen to have read all of Carl Haissen's novels. :)

While I enjoyed the many scenes featuring whacky places I know so well, I found the book ultimately juvenile and, sorry, stupid! If there had been one character..... just one .... who had some minor ability to be like-able, I would have been willing to work a little at liking the book. As it was, I felt as though I was at an acid-ridden, alcoholic frat party where young men who should have known better were bragging about their mid-deeds. When it comes to Florida-based satire, this is one native Floridian who will stick to the likes of Carl Hiaasen.

Florida Road Kill is a zany, fast-paced trip through Florida with a variety of colorful and somewhat unusual characters. Tim Dorsey shows us a different Florida than we see as tourists on the beach or at a theme park. His Florida is a bit raunchier and an often hilarious place. Florida Road Kill was the bait and now I'm into the series hook, line and sinker.

While a big fan of weird characters in weird situations, this book was completely over the top with the characters. They weren't weird and quirky, they were just plain bizarre and not remotely funny. With the wonderful backdrop of South Florida, several authors have managed to write entertaining stories with eccentricities galore, but this one drops the ball.
