I loved this book. Great followup to The Hook Up. I like the friends to lovers story and like that the story of them being friends is told in this book. Sometimes books have MCs that have been friends forever (since they were younger) and we never see how that friendship grew, but it was refreshing to read a story of how that comes about.

OMG! This book is awesome. After reading The Hook up, I could hardly wait for this one.

Kristen Callihan tells great stories and pays attention to details that a lot of writers these days do not.

Great story, great character development, sound writing, and wonderful supporting characters make this second story in the series a sure fire win. Read this book!

Great series! Kristen Callihan. Is an awesome writer. This book was fantastic. Character development is key here. Loved the banter between Ivy and Gray. They compliment each other. Definitely need to read this book when you have no housework to do. Couldn't put it down!

Kristen continues writing some wonderful stories and Gray & Mac are no different. You met Gray in Book 1 and I was so happy he got his own book. Watching him fall for Mac, and her allowing it, was something to read. This book had me laughing, sighing and a few times cursing, but it never lost my attention. I love this series!

Maybe the author felt the need or obligation to find someone for Drew's friend. I like this one, but its was as good and mouth watering as The Hook Up. I did enjoy their text messages, and the pink car deal was quite funny. I would recommend, but I feel it's more of a lazy read that you can take your time with.

Mmmmmm the story was entertaining enough but I feel the conflicts were a little immature. I liked her better than him, she was more down to earth but her decision to become a manager made me roll my eyes, I don't know, a little too convenient.

Loved this book! Couldn't get enough of Gray and Ivy! I had been waiting for this book to come out since The Hook Up and it did not disappoint. Gray was hooked from their 1st texts and I enjoyed watching them as friends that turned to more! Also love books that once the couple is together they are together no stupid back and forth!! Great work again!

The Friend Zone is a delicious treat! Grey & Ivy's story is bittersweet, but you just want more and more. How they help each other and Grey becomes more selfless, and Ivy becomes more selfish towards each other. I loved every moment of this sinfully delicious decadent story, and I want MORE!

This book gained my attention from page 1 by introducing Gray and Ivy through their bantering text messages. Gray is hilarious, and I especially love the way he is a great cook. I want to know where I can find my own Gray! I would recommend this book.

Loved this book from the first page. It was funny, loved the characters and how they developed. It was a funny, sexy, sweet, emotional....FUN ride.

After reading a lousy book I can count on Special Sauce and Cupcake for some good sexy fun

Gorgeous, muscled, unbridled Roman God who can cook and articulate his feelings in a non-sexist and overall respectful way. In spite of the fact that this man does not exist, the whole story felt amazingly credible. A true page turner and I cannot wait for the next book from Game On or the Darkest London series . I love you Kristen Callihan, send me all of your things.

For the first few chapters I kept thinking Book 1 was better. Then about 50% the twist of the plot had me so captivated that by the end I can't decide which was better. One thing is true, both books deserves 5 stars. Now on to Book 3. Highly recommend.

Cupcakes will never be the same.....Ivy and Gray are perfect for each other. Yes, they have their trials to deal with but together they are just so darn cute. Get ready for laughs, tears and "awww" moments. Kristen does it again with bringing us back to the Friend Zone.....

This book was wayyyy better than I expected. It was beautifully written and I completely fell in love with the characters. The sex scenes were really hot, typically sex scenes bore me because they are so cheesy, but I was honestly really hot reading them because they weren't just about the actual act they were about the emotions and the depth that goes into being with someone. I loved the characters and wished with my whole heart that they were real. This story had real depth to it and wasn't a telling of a ridiculous story and showed real sacrifice and commitment.

One of the most progressive and witty romances I have read in sometime. Gray and Ivy fit so well with each other. Love how witty, funny and sweet this story is. Kristen does an awesome job in taking the familiar friends to lovers premise and tweaking it with a fresh voice. A+!

So, this story unfolded like many NA romances do. Characters aren't honest about the way they feel. "I don't want to mess up the friendship." "He won't feel the same way." Which is ironic in this kind of story which paints our main characters as two people that become fast friends via text. And that's the part of the story that was amusing - the witty and sweet banter in texts.

But then they meet each other in person and communication essentially tanks. The two quickly segue into hiding their feelings, not saying what they want - just what they think the other person wants to hear. Jealously. Judgy attitudes. Rash reactions. And then of course avoidance.

Honestly - I skimmed 2 or 3 chapters of the ridiculous angst.

But when they did finally talk - like really got it all out there - it was swoon worthy. Loved it. Smokin' hot moments too.

Better than the first book in the series! I really enjoyed book 1 in the Game On series, and this one completely surpassed that one for me. It was funny and loved the chemistry between the two characters. Will reread this book some time. Highly recommend to others!

I really enjoyed this-- Kristen Callihan is another author I discovered recently (along with Jen Frederick, who write about similar themes) that I'm enjoying. Something familiar about the topics but the characters are well-developed and people you can empathize with, especially the male leads.

Loved Gray and Ivy. I laughed, chuckled, sniffed, shed a tear and just generally enjoyed the ride. I can't get enough of Kristen Callahan's writing. She always delivers. Great dialogue is my thing and hers is the best!

Kristen Callihan you are my literary hero. I love this series. Gray and Ivy's story is phenomenal. No spoilers here but the way this relationship ebbs and flows makes it so easy to keep reading and hard to put down. Congrats. I can't wait for the next one.

Love this one! I really enjoyed their text banter that set up their whole story and relationship in the beginning. These two were sexy, fun, and they felt real to me. Gray Grayson is swoon worthy and I love Ivy's personality! Overall loved the book!

Loved the anticipation ,their friendship, the flow of the story and the sex scenes were well worth the wait *sighs* I think I enjoyed this book more than the first one. And the best part for me was the POV from both of them. It all felt so natural?

I loved this book! I enjoyed the first book about Drew & Anna but I loved Ivy & Gray so much more. They were funny and sweet. I found myself in love with them before they were in love with each other! Can't wait for the next in the series!

What a sweet and swoony story. After getting to know Gray in The Hook-Up, I was anxious to see him fall in love and I was not at all disappointed. He found someone worth changing his ways and that's exactly what he did.

Gray, Drew's best friend in The Hook-Up, had been searching for an agent to help his transition to the NFL after his senior season. He finds one that isn't just out to make him money but to actually look after him. When Drew is hurt and needs to use Gray's truck, he asks his agent Mackenzie to help find him a loaner. Instead of something outlandish, he lets Gray use his daughter Ivy's bubblegum pink car. After Ivy finds out, she and Gray begin a texting relationship that soon creates a best friend relationship that leaves both of them trying not to cross the line.

Watching Gray fall for Ivy was so sweet. Gray had already gone through so much in life that he was terrified to lose the best thing that ever happened to him: his close relationship with Ivy. Even though that meant just being friends when everyday he fell a little harder for her, he was determined to make it work. As for Ivy she knew about his love em and leave em past, but loved who was when he was with her and knew there was more to him than his facade.

It was beautiful seeing them constantly have each other's back whether it was on the dance floor, while one had the flu, or when their pasts made it hard to move on to the future. They truly were friends first even after they became lovers. I laughed and blushed throughout this story. I felt their despair at times and was moved by their dedication and devotion to one another.

This couple feels real from the first kickoff. A pair of strong but wounded souls searching for their other half among plenty of missed passes. Loved the way they fought for each other, friends above all.

Enjoyed the first book and this one was great too. The tension kept the pace interesting, I enjoyed the intimate scenes and could imagine this really happening. If you like the first book, you'll like this one too!
