Disappointed, Save your money. Book is very brief, and poorly written. This book does not include most of the information in the description. YouTube and Instagram are a better resource. The author mentions you should resin, but only discusses varnish which is not current market trend. Author uses the word “Step” in place of the word chapter to imply this book is tutorial based... its just not.
Rick Cheadle, you should really be ashamed of taking advantage of people selling this book. It’s the equivalent of a high-school, book report

What a great informative book on pouring paint methods. I can't wait to try my hand st this. Don't be fooled by the 8 steps title. This book is in depth on each technique and plenty of additional information. It's to the point and easy to read and follow. He leaves nothing chance including your health. The paintings in the book are exciting and beautiful.
I've watched a million videos on pouring but this book has more specific information than all of them put together.

This book has everything that you need to begin your abstract acrylic art love affair. From basic knowledge, to the materials you will need, to the mixtures you can use in this art form. I wish that I had this information when I was just beginning but honestly it is a good resource book to refer back to when you want to change things up a bit.

PROS: This was very useful for getting the fundamentals of acrylic paint pouring AND had information I hadn't seen anywhere else which I found very useful.
CONS: the formatting showed up funky on my kindle BUT still very readable.

Instead of a lot of words regarding authors abilities and work , sholud have what was asked for
Instructions on how to do pour painting for a beginner like me
I get it , you need pour medium, paints , cups , popsicle sticks , torch , heat gun , gloves silicone , etc
Take each medium and explain how it works how much to use , the same with the paints, the silicone, all of it . I know your a good artist , but damn i still dont get how to do it ,.

This book has all the basic steps for a beginning fluid art creator. I like how he explains archival and non-archival products.
He does mention that the primary colors are: red, blue, and yellow which is incorrect - should be magenta, cyan, and yellow.
I do wish that the pictures were bigger.

Very, very basic information. Not a lot went into the writing with many paragraphs repeated over and over. I expected more from a rather pricey digital book about painting. While the author does show us a lot of his paintings, in the finished state, he uses very few pictures to illustrate his methods. One thing that really got me is the suggestion that artists keep a journal. Not a bad idea. The author does this. If he published that I might feel like I had paid for something of value. Sorry Rick. This is not a grand slam or even a triple.

This was offered yesterday, April 6, 2018, as a free Kindle Unlimited purchase. I thought I had a Kindle Unlimited as a Prime customer., so I clicked on the "free" button. My order shows that I purchased this for $9.95. There is no way to cancel this item. The Help pages are useless, because they only offer drop down options which do not apply to this issue. There are directions on how to "cancel" which I was trying to do within 2 minutes of ordering and learning that I was being charged. There is no "cancel" button for digital items, although the instructions for digital orders are to click the non-existant button. We have been the store Prime customers for a long time, and purchase many, many items over the years, including books and electronics. It was hard to find information on Kindle Unlimited on the website. Ordering a book by clicking the free button must automatically sign you up and charge the monthly fee of $9.95. I'm afraid we've accidentally been paying what amounts to $120.00 per year for Kindle Unlimited for years. I find it disgusting that the status of Kindle Unlimited isn't more obvious.

Rick was one of the first people that reached out to me when I joined the Acrylic Pouring Group. His knowledge in this art form is exemplary and he spells it out with very easy to understand directions/examples. I would recommend this book to any one getting started in this extremely fun addictive art form

I have been following Rick Cheadle on YouTube for a long time (not in a creepy stalker way), so I HAD to have this book :) He is full of great suggestions, without being a know it all...if you know what I mean. LOTS of YouTube artists become someone else once they reach internet fame and write books. Rick seems down to earth. This book feels like hanging out in his studio all day and having a blast while you learn!
I can't wait to get into my studio and make some art!

Good information that will provide a starting point for newcomers to using fluid media for flow-based artistic techniques. Much of this information is available on YouTube or art-related sites, but this resource will save the reader time spent combing through many conflicting sources for nuggets of useful information.

Experimentation and additional research will likely be required even with this introduction. I would like to see a second edition with more in-depth discussion of the techniques, and photographs or illustrations of the processes.

This book was provided to me free of charge. The author only asked for a fair review of their work.

Thank you for all your information, photos of your work and your words of encouragement. All so helpful in my quest for improving my pouring technique. Having done hundreds of pours, I am now incorporating your tips on analogous colors with their compliments in my work with very happy results

This is an excellent book for a beginner fluid painter or even one with experience who wants to learn more about Rick Cheadle's painting techniques. Simple, well thought out and full of great tips. I highly recommend it!

This book is very informative. A chart on how much paint to use on each canvas size would be useful. I have not done any pouring yet. I am in the research phase. I am hoping to make an awesome abstract for my sons new home.

Contains some pics of nice pours but is mostly very basic info that you can get by watching YouTube. You can read the whole book in about 30 minutes. Obviously written for inexperienced budding "artists" who need written instructions for everything. The author himself doesn't seem to know the difference between a medium and an additive and the only safety tip in handling chemicals and torches is to read the MSDS and not burn your canvas. Nothing about the very real risk of skin/respiratory system (and property!) damage from repeated contact with these products and no warnings given at all about torching anything with alcohol! I read this Kindle copy for free with Kindle Unlimited and returned it after a quick read.

My husband surprised me with this book in our Kindle library. He had no idea Rick Cheadle is someone I follow regularly in this art form. Thanks, Rick for your book. Great to have every detail you include!

Rick's easy to understand, how-to for inspiring flow artists is captured all in one book! There is so much information out there on this art form, so to have it all laid out step by step in one place is so helpful. There are also extra tidbits of information: paint densities, color theory, many, many of the techniques, and a nice glossary at the end. I highly recommend for anyone who is interested in learning more, or advancing in their technique.

As someone just starting out, this books covers it all. His ability to simply state the process was so helpful. I have been working with this form of art long enough to know the questions to ask and he covered them all. Worth your time and money!

This is such a useful and inspirational "cook-book" for those just beginning to explore the world of Acrylic Poured Painting. The photos are great. The only thing I did not love was the way the type was center-justified in the two-column pages, making it sometimes difficult for my eyes to follow. That is a minor issue of personal choice, so I would still highly recommend this book.

I chose 3 stars because although this quick read didn't "wow" me, it did provide me with a very clear description of terms and possible materials, drawbacks and techniques. I liked it and it was useful to me.

Rick Cheadle provides a very nice overview of acrylic pouring. He takes you through the acrylic pouring process step by step and explains everything clearly and concisely. I especially liked the section on techniques and am looking forward to trying out all of the different pouring methods.

This book could use some copywriting expertise. It is extremely bland. The information can all be found on YouTube or in other courses/books found here on the store. This book is not really instructional. It's more about the history of acrylic pouring and art. It does talk at length about what materials you use and why, but really not instructional at all on how to use them. Fluid Art Mastery: 8 Steps To Being A Paint Pouring Artist
