For someone getting into these topics for the first time, the book will be interesting and readers might end up reading more detailed and better books to learn about the topics.
Having read several really good books, for me personally this one seemed really oversimplified and trying to put as many buzz words and topics in less text. So much, that I barely managed to make my self read it until the end.

Undoubtedly the best book on lean product! I devoured this book cover to cover the weekend and was already recommending it to my co-workers and friends before I even finished.

This book is perfect for current product managers, those looking to switch it up and break into a product role (use this book as your blueprint for doing so), and anyone seeking to gain a better understanding of what it takes to build and manage great products. Dan covers every aspect you'd need to know to come across as competent, ready to ramp up, and meaningfully contribute to your company's bottom line.

Great book, with lots of helpful practical idea about how to discover and prioritize product features.
Just 4 stars because I strongly disagree with author on the first four chapters.
Recommendation: just skip the first four chapters.
Also, book sometimes looks like a compilation of idea from other books. If you love to read you might find some clones of some questionable ideas.
With all this, still four stars.

Dan Olsen's 'The Lean Product Playbook' is an excellent resource for new and experienced product managers, and for anyone who wants to understand how to develop successful products. As someone who leads a large product management organization and lectures on Product Management at Stanford, I have reviewed much of the literature that is available. And I find that Dan's book provides the clearest and most actionable explanation of how to incorporate lean concepts to product management. The concepts are illustrated with relevant examples, making the book easy to read and comprehend. While the focus is primarily on new products in a B2C world, the book provides guidance as to how to apply the concepts to add innovation to existing products.

I have recommended the book to my entire team, as well as to the students I have lectured at Stanford, and I would recommend it to anyone involved in the definition, design or delivery of products.

Easy to understand, resourceful, right to the point...
I have the Audio Version of the Book and I had to sit down most of the time to write some notes...

Some of the subjects I all ready had in my knowhow,
but the ones I had and forgot about being very good to remember, and the ones that I was not aware of made me rethink my current project in a much better way,
just for that I am very thanks full to Dan Olsen for taking the time to this work!

This book is well articulated and organised in my view, and the value is a lot greater then inspected.

I all ready did buy it for my partners, and recomended to some people.

Eric Ries answered two very important questions: "what is Lean Startup?" and "why is it important?". Dan's Lean Product Playbook answers the "how can I execute?" question. This is a necessary addendum to Eric's work for anyone who wants to understand the nuts and bolts of actually running lean. Dan's been in the trenches as a VP of product for some of Silicon Valley's top companies, so he knows his stuff. He jumps right in to Product-Market Fit as a primer and within 20 pages goes right into the meat of the book with Lean Product Process (determining the right customer, needs, value prop, MVP features and creation). He concludes appropriately with guidelines on metrics, analytics, and optimization. Buy the book, underline, dog-ear, mark it up, and put these helpful tips from a true Lean Jedi into practice. Your business will be better for it.

The Lean Product Playbook is an excellent guide that tells you how to develop a successful product. Most books or classes give generic advise to implement lean methodology, for ex: test your assumptions, simplify the MVP, "get out of the office and talk to the customer” and so on. But the Lean Product Playbook teaches how to execute each step of your product development process, with detailed examples and clear deliverables. It is one of the best book in product development, that each school, online class and organization should use as a reference.

Overall great book on lean product development, I especially enjoyed the chapters on user research, his real world examples really drove home the concepts for me. I did find, however, that because I've been using agile development already, a lot of the book was more of a re-enforcement of what I was doing than new information. If you are newer to product development, especially software development (as this is the books focus) this is truly as the name calls it a playbook that will give you a leg up day to day.

In a sea of UX and Product Management resources, this book is clearly distinguished. Olsen breaks down the true principles of great product experience design. He outlines thoughtful, pragmatic and lean methods for all kinds of companies to improve their product design methodologies. His ideas are fresh, well-synthesized and clearly communicated -- extremely beneficial for UX designers, product managers, and business strategists who want to maximize value in their product design!

Dan's insights and practical applications in The Lean Product Playbook are so much more usable than what was dished-up in product class. I listened to the book via Audible and re-read and scribbled notes in sections to really absorb it all. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is building products and services.

Fantastic and practical book for lean product development. No fluff and wasted materiel. Step by step guide helps out a lot to get anyone started. Look for the overall themes of the book but also follow the steps for a few iterations before modifying them.

Overall, one of the best and most condensed books I have come across on the vast subject of lean product development. Highly recommended for beginners and experienced tech professionals.
