I hated to have to wait so long between installments of this series, but it was worth it. I love all the characters from the Tall, Dark, and Deadly and Inside Out Series, and loved how many of them were all brought together for this finally. Though books one and two of the Careless Whispers series your not too sure if you like Kaden or not. I can tell you that I absolutely fell in FLove with Kaden in this last book with all his faults. I love the perfect team and partnership he and Ella form. I hope this isn't the last we will see (read/listen) of them. Lisa Renee Jones does an excellent job of weaving all her characters from all her series into one intertwined world. I can't wait for more.

Surrender was the perfect conclusion to the Careless Whispers Series! I love how Lisa Renee Jones is able to weave through the most intricate paths and bring the entire story to a stunning end! Ella & Kayden have an intense bond that flourishes through this suspenseful, thrilling end. The addition of Sara and Chris from The Inside Out Series completes the web and it is exciting to see these beloved characters again. Surrender is full of mystery, intrigue and wonderful romance. Love this series!

Surrender is my favorite out of the Careless Whispers one reason is that Chris and Sara are in it but Ella also finds out what happened to her and she falls even further in love with Kaden. If you are anything like me any of Lisa's books are your favorites. Lisa has been my favorite author for a very long time and as she keeps writing she will always be one of my favorites.
This book is highly recommend.

WARNING: This is not a stand-alone. You must read book 1, Denial, first.

--------
So the first 20% of this was proceeding nicely except for maybe once again the lengthy back and forth conversations about the necklace and who did or didn’t or will or won’t do whatever. Then a long BDSM scene that had me wanting to start snapping my fingers, waving my hands to get their attention, and thinking, “Oh, for Pete’s Sake, not again! We don’t have time for this, people! Put the duct tape away and your clothes back on! We need to wrap this up!” Yeah, not a good sign so early into it that my patience had completely run out. By 40%, I realized I needed to surrender and throw in the towel all together. Folks, seriously, I think this should have been one book, certainly no more than two. It has been dragged out way too dang l-o-n-g. I’m D-o-n-e! Book 1, IMHO, was the only book worth reading, and it, of course, ended in a cliffhanger.

Finding out Sasha was assigned to sleep with a certain someone for days just to keep him busy. Well, that’s just all kinds of wrong, too, folks. If a fictional character could sue an author for defamation of character in court, I think Sasha would win! Also wrong is the repetitive writing...something happens and it is repeated in subsequent conversations...again and again. I stopped reading at 60%. The storyline was like watching a dog chase its tail. I honestly no longer care about anyone or who has the darn necklace. Here’s to hoping others enjoy this series. For me, it’s been a long time since I was so disappointed in a series I regret my time reading it.

Title: Surrender, Series: Careless Whispers (Book 3), Author: Lisa Renee Jones, Pages: 320, not a stand-alone, must read books in order, first person, very graphic smexy scenes with lusty language, some BDSM/spanking, flashbacks of abusive BDSM, amnesia heroine, nobody messes with me or my woman type hero, did not finish, stopped @ 60%.

Book 1 - Denial, Pages: 321, 11/24/15
Book 2 - Demand, Pages: 320, 5/31/16
Book 3 - Surrender, Pages: 320, 1/9/17

A spine-tingling romantic suspense that had me at the edge of my seat with its fantastic mix of sizzling chemistry and romance, deception and danger, and a bad@$$ heroine that should not be missed.

As head of the underground Hunter organization, Kayden Wilkens, had many secrets until Ella. He found her under in a dark alley with severe amnesia. He knew she’s the key to finding a three billion dollar necklace several powerful and evil men are after. He never expected to fall in love with her while she was in his care, but as she struggles to regain her memory she’s also found a place in his heart and in his dangerous life. There are no more secrets between them, but can he keep her safe from the perils of his world?

As Ella Ferguson finds refuge, love and passion in the arms of Kayden she also finds the will to take charge of her life alongside of him, memories intact or not. Those memories though are not just key to finding the valuable necklace, but also vital for her and her best friend’s survival and victory over the madman who wants to own both the necklace and Ella.

I was captivated by this series from start to finish. So much uncertainty shrouding Ella, so many things hinged on her recovering her memories, just so much anticipation for the final instalment of this trilogy which Lisa Renee Jones delivers in this sensual and fast paced story that reveal shocking twists, turns and truths.

Surrender continues where Demand left off with non-stop action. Two warring stepbrothers and mafia lords have Ella in their sights, one just wants her to help him get his hands on the butterfly necklace but Neuville of the French mob, who had previously imprisoned her, wants the necklace and Ella and he’ll stop at nothing, corrupting the seemingly incorruptible and sparing no lives to get what he wants. Making Kayden maneuver the Underground to take down bad guys while Ella has a sinking suspicion they can only count on each other to do so. To make matters worse her best friend Sara has landed on European soil with her husband, putting them too close to danger.

On the romance side, I loved how Ella and Kayden’s bond keeps getting stronger, how much they both have come to trust each other despite their rocky beginning. They still have a part of Ella’s past to contend with but they’re both committed to move forward in their relationship and protect one another no matter what comes at them. Together they’re explosively hot and deliciously sweet and confirming that Ella is as kick @$s as we suspected in the previous book and them some is an added bonus.

This last book in the trilogy had many loose ends to tie which it did. With its complex nature involving the Italian and French mafia, politics and politicians, and the Underground itself, the author skillfully leads the reader through this thrilling ride, thankfully recapitulating on previous events and characters while pulling back layer upon layer that had me flipping pages like a crazy person.
Surrender is book #3 in the Careless Whispers series by Lisa Renee Jones. It is the finale in the trilogy and should not be read as a standalone. It is a suspenseful romance full of excitement and sexiness with a thrilling and happy ending. Told mostly from the heroine’s point of view with some parts told from her best friend’s point of view.

SURRENDER is the third and final book in the Careless Whispers series, a spin-off of the Inside Out series. They must be read in the order of release.

I was captivated by Ella’s story from the moment she was mentioned in the Inside Out series. I hated the thought that Sara’s friend was missing and I wanted to know what happened to her. What was her European adventure?

This entire series was fast-paced, non-stop action, but it also contained plenty of romance and heart.

Lisa Renee Jones is a master at reviewing the past events without boring and then leading the reader on an amazing escapade to the exciting conclusion. "I choose you and I choose us. I will always choose us." Isn’t that what we all want someone to say to us? Join Ella and Kayden as they choose each other and thwart -seemingly- every nefarious agent in France!

I’m reminded of the end of one of the Grammar Rock songs: “Darn! That’s the end.” On the other hand, I know that means I can look forward to whatever may next come from the pen of Lisa Renee Jones.

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

*I voluntarily read an early copy of this book

I can't believe that this is the end of Kayden and Ella's journey! It's been a wild ride! Mobsters, betrayal, murders, and a 300 MILLION DOLLAR necklace, that apparently was in Ella's possession and she can't recall where she hid it. And everyone wants it. And some will stop at nothing to get it back, even murder.

**He presses his hands on the counter and leans closer. “You’ll remember.”
He’s right; I know I will. But if my mind is blocking me, what else is coming? What nightmare has yet to be exposed?

Ella starts to get back pieces of her memory. But it's scattered, not in sequence. And the most important piece of the puzzle is still missing. She is trying to remember what is so special about the necklace, why she had and who she was hiding it from. When she remembers that, she will be one step ahead of the game. Won't she?

With her memories returning, that also brings up who she can now trust. Those closest to her and The Underground are in more danger. And her friend, Sara, is now also a target. With fragmented memories, Ella must try forgive out where the necklace is, who to trust and how to save her friend.

This epic conclusion is one not to be missed. Twists and turns in the story and things unexpected come to light. I really fell in love with these characters and really hated to see their story end. Ella is one bad@ ss woman who is not to be messed with, full memories or not! She rocks the role she has accepted when she decided to be at Kaydens side. She is fearless and a true warrior. Loyal to those she loves.

And Kayden, all Alpha! The Hawk, and with that comes dangerous situations, and deadly decisions. But oh can he still make you swoon! He's loyal and will do everything in his power as The Hawk to protect Ella. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and heats up the pages! A great ending to a great story.

"My surrender is my control."

Surrender is the conclusion of the Careless Whispers series. This series should be read in order.

In Surrender, Ella is finally able to recover her memory. At first, it's as flashbacks but by the end, she knows everything she was missing.

Everyone wants to know where she hid the three billion dollar butterfly necklace. Kayden to return it to the rightful owners while the two mobsters want it to further gain more power. Niccolo is head of the Italian mafia and Neuville from the French mafia.

Ella knows Neuville is the man who had her captured and treated her as a slave. She tries really hard to avoid fearing him. She doesn't want to give him any power over her.

Ella is not sure she's friend or foe to Kayden. She believes herself to be a CIA agent. She doesn't want to jeopardize Kayden's love for her or put anyone in danger.

Kayden is determined to keep her safe at whatever cost necessary. He's willing to kill for her. He won't let Niccolo or Neuville have her.

Surrender had a lot of action and suspense. It also has a couple of Sara and Chris's cameos which made the story even better. Blake Walker also plays a part. I had no problems following the story line and all my questions were answered. I'm sad to see this characters go.

Cliffhanger: No

Surrender (Careless Whispers #3) by Lisa Renee Jones , brings a satisfying ending to Ella’s story. The journey brought characters from two of the author’s previous series (Inside Out and Tall, Dark & Deadly series) together in a seamless fashion. Having read those series, it was very enjoyable to see the Carless Whispers world enriched by friends from the past.

Some of the pros & cons for me were:

• The book was finished in 3 books as promised by the author (although I think it could have been completed in 2 books)

• A satisfying ending overall, a bit quick and almost too easy, but most questions or open issues were addressed.

• No major character changes stayed true, expanded a bit through new info about them.

• Kayden & Ella's relationship grew stronger, no outside forces to challenge or cast doubt on it. No angsty issues, or misinterpretation of actions to create tension between the H/h.

• The storyline was a bit repetitive (info from previous books) and slow, new info developed in spurts but was supportive of the overall storyline.

I received my copy of the book from NetGalley, on behalf of Simon and Schuster Digital Sales Inc / Pocket Star, for an honest review. The publication date was January 9, 2017.

For me this was a 3 star read

"I received a complimentary copy of this book and have volunteered to leave a review."

The author in Surrender gave me a mind-blowing hail of new informations about who was Ella, in the past and who decided to be in the end. She created a mysterious atmosphere that left me questioning about who I consider as a friend or as enemy of Ella's. It was a strange feeling that made the whole story more darker. Until the end, the author kept the big secret of Ella's past, which was a total bolt of the blue for me when, finally, everything was revealed. What amazed me the most, was the way the author narrated each stories, including Surrender. With a never seen intelligence, yet having simplicity in her words, she never downgraded the plot. In contrary, she catapults it higher and higher, showing, with a well versed way, the deepest, darkest secrets, lightening the mystery of what the past and an amnesia would cause on Ella's future.

Surrender begin with a quick summary of Denial. Ella's and Kayden's lives are still on the edge. Hawk's castle still doesn't feel safe for Ella. The people living inside the castle arouse suspicions, and also the close members of undergrounds. Ella is trying to understand the feeling of been watched, she's suspect about everyone, and she doesn't afraid to talk about it with Kayden who helps to her find out who the traitor might be. Alongside with these events, Ella's flashbacks are coming more naturally now; scenes, thoughts, how and what did she really did in Paris flowed in her mind like water and her past finally clears, except the who has send her there and where she hide the coveted butterfly necklace. Moreover, the strong connection Ella has create with Kayden, having an understanding that came out so naturally, created a balance into the story which gave me the feeling that, even if things were going wrong and dangerous with scary results, they will survive in the end.

Careless Whispers is one of the best book series, I had the honor and the chance to read. I believe that the way each book of this series developed and unfolded the story inside their pages was what kept me intrigued to continue reading every single one of them. It's because the author did a great job creating unique characters and then giving them a dangerous day life to go through. It's how she succeed to reveal, slowly and smoothly the plot, despite the complications the story hides.

Unbelievable! I don’t think there is any other word to describe the way Lisa Renee Jones ended the Careless Whisper series. All the twists and turns, all the secrets are revealed as Ella becomes Lady Hawk and takes her place within The Underground.

Surprised isn’t a strong enough word as Ella gets her memory back and we find out just who she really is and what exactly happened to her as she headed off to Paris. Sara and Chris Merit are finally brought into the story along with our Tall, Dark and Deadly Blake Walker. A reunion, of sorts, to bring both the Inside Out Series and Careless Whispers stories to an end. But, there is a part of me that hopes that Ms. Jones revisits all the players here. To me, there were still some unanswered questions and I would truly love to see the ultimate HEA for Ella and Kayden. God knows that they went through enough to get there.

I would also love to see where she would take someone like Giada. She may have redeemed her but I think there is more to her than meets the eye. Then there is Sasha and Adriel. Just what are they up to? As for Gallo, did he really just accept everything and walk away? Yes, too many unanswered questions and huge openings for Lisa Renee Jones to thrill us with more of the Merits, the Wilkens and the Walkers.

I love the way LRJ weaves a story. The way she writes romantic suspense is flawless. There is never a crack in the story and she always makes sure the story flows. She keeps you turning page after page and anticipating just where she is going to take the story. I, seriously, had no idea where she was taking Surrender until the end. Sign of a wonderful author? Most definitely! Knowing that I will always get a well-thought-out story, a tale with heart and soul, Lisa Renee Jones will always be a go-to author for me.

AudoBook Review:
Stars: Overall 5 Narration 4 Story 5

Most certainly NOT a series to tackle out of order, Surrender picks up just where Demand ended: Ella is still not solidly herself yet, and even though Kayden is concerned, caring and oh so addictive, he’s got secrets. But, since finding her earlier in the series, he’s come to be her sense of security, when memories start to return in jumbled pieces, and nothing else is making sense.

For his part, Kayden is that guy you can’t help but find attractive, even when not all of his pieces seem to add up. Sure, he has secrets (who doesn’t) but his obsession with security, and that ever-present energy that bounces between them, like a magnet for attraction. From Demand, there were several questions that sprung up unexpectedly, and Ella’s ability to start to put the pieces and bits she is remembering into some sort of order – still, everything is like that giant jigsaw puzzle where the cat ran off with pieces. When you add in the questions, and an obvious (after the reveal) mole sharing information and secrets, the tension in this one is fever-pitched and broken only with moments of passion.

Having Chris and Sara pop in as secondary characters added some closure to their story, and brought Ella and Kayden out of their isolation, but still, questions remained until the end. Perfectly suited to the story’s trajectory, and a wonderful spin off from the Inside Out stories.

Narration for this story was provided by Elizabeth Louise, and her work improves every time. While her voice and manner were perfectly suited to Ella, her approach to the performance carried much of the same positives: each character was clearly distinct and differentiated, her presentation of tension and more strident emotions clearly brought that forward. Much improved, but still in need of work were the more subtle emotional inflections and changes that would be reflected in the listener’s experience. While you can’t help but be engaged and hanging on every word, the push and pull that Jones utilizes so well to keep you on that knife’s edge of tension, arousal and interst wasn’t as defined or deliberate as I would have hoped for. Still, this was a wonderful story, a great completion for the series, and sure to have fans of darker and edgier romance with a heavy dose of tension begging for more.

I received an AudioBook copy of the title from Simon and Schuster Audio for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This is the third and final installment to the Careless Whispers series. It is also, in my opinion, the most complex installment in the series. Once again, I’m grateful the author included a recap of the storyline, but also a character glossary, or sorts, to get the reader back up to speed.

Going into this book, I had a lot of questions. Most importantly:
Will Ella get her memory back?
What, if anything else, may Kayden be hiding?
Who can be trusted?
I don’t want to give anything away, but I can answer the last question. TRUST NO ONE!

There are so many villains in this story and how they connected gave me a headache, to be honest.
A and B are related.
C did a favor for D.
E is looking for revenge.
F is just plain greedy.
Then all of the above start making plans with one another. Making it very confusing.

And Kayden has links to several of them. Even with that said, I did trust Kayden. I know his heart is in the right place, protecting Ella. At the same time, he is also trying to prevent a complete shift in power, and therefore, can’t trust anyone with the elusive butterfly necklace.

While the main plot of the story is the necklace, Ella’s memory is the key to it all. I personally wasn’t fully convinced on how it came back to her in pieces. She would remember a small part of her past, and then go into a detailed explanation about that small part and how it ties to so much not previously revealed. I think it would have been more believable if the memories of her past came in small parts and opened up the gates to the rest. The whole “I know where the necklace is” came out of the blue and was a bit anticlimactic.

For fans of the Inside Out series, you’ll happy to know that Sara and Chris have significant parts in this book, and the culmination of this series ties up loose ends from their story as well. (Note: you don’t need to have read the Inside Out series to follow along with this one, but there will be some spoilers if you haven’t read it).

With all of the above, my favorite part of the story was learning the Ella is a badass. There were hints of this before, but it is now very clear, she knows what she’d doing. I loved her confidence in the most dire of circumstances and that she didn’t need a man to “save her”. Maybe just needed a little back up.

Overall, this was an enjoyable series and had my brain churning in high gear.

Surrender is the third book in the Careless Whispers series. You must read the series from the beginning to fully understand what is going on with this story. Its complex and has many twists and turns. Trusted allies and brutal enemies. I love that Lisa has character bios in the beginning of the books. It was very helpful since I am horrible with names and what role they play after reading many books in between. Anyway, back to Ella and Kayden's story...

Ella's memory is still spotty but everyday comes with more memories from her past. She still fears that she was once Kayden's enemy and if that is true, she could lose the man that she loves. At this point, she has to trust her instincts and they are telling her that someone is watching her. Waiting to strike. She knows that Garner is actively looking for her and the three-hundred million dollar necklace that she hid away. Her mind is still blocking the location but more pieces to the puzzle are being connected. And with more than one mob boss looking for the necklace, it's a lot of pressure on her mind, body, and soul. Especially when she doesn't know who or what she really is.

Jayden's number one concern is Ella's safety. He wants this mystery over with and fast. He can't stand that his enemies are now also hers. He also has to ensure The Underground's safety while keeping their reputation. All he wants to do is find the necklace without anyone getting killed so he can move on with Ella. He needs to make sure that she understands what being with him means. He also needs to her to know that he loves her, no matter what. But what if she really is his enemy?

I thought this was a great conclusion to the Careless Whispers series. Ella is a complete bada- in this book. She doesn't cower. She holds her own. And knows exactly what she wants. She might not know every aspect of her past but she does know that she wants to be by Kayden's side. Then there is Kayden aka Hawk. He is protective, sexy, and mysterious. Together, they have to fight for their future.

Overall...it's a complex mystery that kept me wondering what was going to happen next. It's also sexy and even has some funny moments.

P.S. I hope there are some spin-offs in the future!

Quotes:

“Are you still making a point?”
“If you have to ask, I haven’t made it.”

“My life is a f- foreign novel written in twenty languages, sweetheart. Complicated is what I do.”

“Oh Annie,” I say, opening the purse to stroke my gun. “How I missed you.”

4.5 stars--SURRENDER is the third and final installment in Lisa Renee Jones’s contemporary, adult CARELESS WHISPERS romantic suspense series focusing on billionaire businessman Kayden Wilkens, and Ella Ferguson. The Careless Whispers series is a spin off from Lisa’s INSIDE OUT series. Ella is Sara McMillan’s (Inside Out Series) best friend and has gone missing following a trip to Europe. You do not have to have read the INSIDE OUT SERIES to follow the premise of the Careless Whispers series. SURRENDER should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately upon the events of book two DEMAND.

SOME BACKGROUND: While in Italy, American citizen Ella Ferguson was found battered and bruised from an attack that left our heroine with a concussion and traumatic amnesia. Waking up in the hospital beside a beautiful stranger found Ella in a world of confusion with no memories including her own identity and the reasons for her present situation. Enter Kayden Wilkens, American billionaire and Leader of the Italian branch of The Underground (treasure hunting operation) and the man who claims to have saved Ella’s life.

Told from first person point of view (Ella Ferguson) with a few chapters from Sara McMillan’s POV, SURRENDER reveals the truth behind Ella’s trip to Europe, and her connection to the missing butterfly necklace reported to be worth over three hundred million dollars. As Ella’s memory slowly returns the danger increases as the French and Italian mobs search for the missing piece of jewelry, targeting Ella is a dangerous game of hide and seek. As powerful a man as Kayden Wilkens is, he is unable to protect the woman that he loves. What ensues is the return of Ella’s memories, and a planned attack against those threatening everyone Ella loves.

SURRENDER is an exciting and action packed story line of revenge, betrayal, power and love. The revealing and intriguing premise; romance and love; mystery and suspense all combine to draw the reader into an innovative and exceptional conclusion to the Careless Whispers series. The addition and cross over with Chris Merit and Sara McMillan, as well as Blake Walker brings familiarity and resolution; cohesion and history. Lisa Renee Jones adds a brief character description at the start of the story reminding the readers of the ‘who’ and ‘what’ in the previous installments.

SURRENDER and the CARELESS WHISPERS series is an intriguing, imaginative and passionate look at the price of power, and the search for the ultimate prize.

I have been waiting months for this book to finally learn who Ella's is. I read the first books in the series, Denial and Demand, back to back and was dying waiting for Surrender….which is probably a good time to mention that these must be read in order! Of course, part of me was so excited to finally read it and part of me was apprehensive that I would be left unsatisfied by the series conclusion or left with loose ends. I didn’t need to worry, Surrender was fantastic and the perfect thrill ride!

So, we pick up exactly where book 2 ended and Ella is still not sure who she is and where the necklace is. Parts of her memory are coming back, but she still feels that something is not adding up and that she could end up being an enemy to Kayden and the Underground. He listens to her concerns which melts her heart, but he is 100% confident that she is meant to be his and he will do anything to protect her.

We get to see Sara and Chris who have been looking for Ella, but Ella is terrified that she will bring them harm. Unfortunately, I have not read the books that feature Sara and Chris, so I have some catching up to do, but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the overall story.

I 100% loved how Kayden and Ella are written. She is so strong and smart and the way she can think on her feet is amazing. And the way Kayden knows just how to calm her…..I loved it! And the way the pieces are presented and pieced together is just perfect. Lisa Renee Jones is a master at writing romantic suspense. I cannot express how fantastic this entire series was!

Surrender is the final installment in the « Careless Whispers » series, a spin-off of the « Inside Out » series. Lisa Renee Jones weaves once again layers upon layers of mystery in this fast paced and riveting romantic suspense that picks up where Demand left off.

Ella’s memories are slowly returning. As the flashbacks become clearer, she feels that her present is closely connected to her past. She knows there is much more about her than what she has pieced together, though. The dark spots seem to revolve around the most traumatic events. She is afraid of the consequences of some revelations. They could harm Kayden or hurt his entire operation.

Kayden and Ella’s relationship is based on trust and love. Their connection is intense, the sexy scenes were scorching hot and well-written. Kayden never hesitates to do what is necessary to protect Ella. He is a man who knows how to get what he wants! This hero is an irresistible combination of tenderness, danger and power. Kayden and Ella both know the enemies are lurking in the shadows. Ella stills has to tell the good guys from the bad guys. She is convinced the bad guys will come for her, she is definitely a target. I loved that she is no damsel in distress, she is skilled and trained to defend herself, but she is still handicapped by her amnesia.

This story had a general atmosphere of deceit, mystery and secrets, with enough twists and turns to keep me flipping the pages. The final twist was brilliant, I hadn’t seen it coming. The writing style of Ms. Jones is utterly addictive. I never can get enough of her fast-paced, riveting stories. This series has come to a conclusion, but I can’t wait to see what this author has in store next.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher, via NetGalley.

In this final installment, Lisa Renee Jones expertly wraps up this intricately woven story—a riveting story filled with layers of intrigue, suspense, and action, as well as a healthy dose of chemistry and passion. (I mean, Kayden is a strong alpha male who is not only a bit dark and dangerous, but powerful and determined. How could Ella not fall for him? And Ella is a force to be reckoned with, a woman capable of strength, intelligence, and compassion.)

While still unsure of whom she can trust, readers will gain clarity and understanding with Ella as pieces of her memory begin to return, shedding light upon the connection to those of the underground, the secrets of her past that seem to keep haunting her, and how her relationship with Sara came to be. Ella will also come to terms with the truth about her past and the impact it may have on Kayden, the man she has come to love and trust unconditionally.

“It doesn’t matter that he is my next breath, and that I believe I am his. It matters that exposing my past might steal everything we think we are and want to be together.”

Building in additional twists and turns, readers will be captivated by the well-developed and thoroughly thought out story that has spanned on only the Careless Whispers Series, but several of LRJ’s series. A master of her craft, Lisa Renee Jones will keep her reader’s guessing while quickly turning pages.

Surrender, the conclusion to the Careless Whispers trilogy, is a sexy and thrilling story that left me breathless. Lisa Renee Jones is a master in romantic suspense, and this series is one of my favorites. Surrender had incredible writing, an engaging plot and unforgettable characters that will stay with you long after you've finished reading.

There were so many elements in play leading up to this final book, and I couldn't wait to see how things would turn out. Jones is so good at weaving together a storyline that totally mesmerizes the reader and leaves them hanging on to every word. Picking up from where book 2, Demand, left off, Ella and Kayden are faced with seemingly impossible obstacles as their search for answers reaches a boiling point.

Jones writes her characters so well, and Kayden and Ella were so likable and intriguing in different ways. These were two people whose passion burned so fiercely, and whose connection only grew stronger with time. The circumstances surrounding their relationship were tumultuous, but one thing that remained constant was the incredible bond connection they shared. I loved it when the two of them came together, whether it was in intimacy or a simple conversation. The progression of their relationship from the first book until the conclusion was one of the things I liked the most about the story.

The suspense and action in this book was great, and well-balanced with the romantic elements. Readers will be very satisfied with the story's ending, as we are given the answers we've been awaiting, and Kayden and Ella finally find their happiness.

Brilliant ending to the Careless Whisper books as well as answering questions from the Inside Out Series and questions on who is Ella that have been open for years!

I have been waiting for this book for many reasons, the return of Chris and Sara, but more importantly the ending to this sexy mystery that Ella and Kayden have taken us on. Who is Ella? Are she and Kayden connected? There are so many signs that say there is some connection. If so what does that mean for them and their relationship? Will they be able to stay together once all the secrets are out? Will the secrets that are reviled change anything? Will her past be more than she can handle? What will finally trigger her memory?

I loved this book, it answered all of the questions you had and then some you did not even know you had. Lisa is a brilliant writer, she writes the small details that make a huge different in the story. This complex story line that started in If I Were You, exceeded my expectation and I was so sorry the story ended. Ella and Kayden were intense, raw, honest, protective and fierce. Ella was a bad ass and even if she did not remember everything until the end, she sure held true to who she was and held her ground. She knew what she wanted and went after it and protected all that she loved. I am hopeful we will see some more of Ella and Kayden and the Underground Cast we met in these books as well as Chris and Sara, this story could continue with new and exciting treasure hunts.

Brillant, just brilliant. I loved every chapter and was so sad when I finished the book.

Author Lisa Renee Jones has done it again with this final entry Careless Whispers series. Passion, mystery and lots of surprises tie this series up very nicely with Surrender. Hopefully you remember where Demand left off at because the story picks up right there. All those extra previous shenanigans get address, the mole gets exposed and plenty of other twists get exposed, most of which were too surprising to anticipate. Okay maybe I did figure out one or two of them but the mole...nope.

The real star to the story is the relationship between Ella and Kayden, well that and Ella's memory loss. Of course the last book would have everything come back so expect questions to be all answered. There's a humdinger of a plot twist to go with it because Ella is actually...! Not going to say anything but that was quite a unexpected factor that takes everybody by storm...especially Ella! as for the romance between Ella and Kayden - sweeter, hotter, and Whoa! does the love come through! It's not all smooth sailings for them and the author definitely takes us for a journey for them to get their HEA.

Of all the series I have read by LRJ, this has been my hands down favorite. The suspense, romance and unexpected twist Ella and Kayden have endured, in my mind, is well worth the read. If you can't decide which series of LRJ to read first, I highly suggest to pick Careless Whispers.

I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine.

Surrender is the exciting conclusion (well, that's a maybe) of the Careless Whispers series. There's suspense, action, intrigue, betrayal, and finally answers. There's a bonus for fans of the Inside Out series, where Ella's story began, Chris and Sara return.

Ella Ferguson's memories are slowly returning. She begins to piece together her past as she continues to hide from her present. Ella remains under the protection of Kayden Wilken. Kayden is a treasure hunter and the leader, aka the Hawk, of The underground. He's also the man who saved Ella and continues to protect her from the man who wants her back.

There are several players after the elusive butterfly necklace that is worth three million dollars. It had been stolen more than a decade ago from the British government and the last person who had it in their possession was Ella. Garner Neuville is the head of the French mob and will do anything to recapture Ella. He wants the necklace and it doesn't matter if she's under the Hawk's protection. Kayden will do anything to keep Ella safe. Don't under estimate Ella, she's a powerhouse.Lingering questions are answered and unexpected twists are revealed. My head was spinning with the conclusion.

The author provides a review and character summary at the beginning of the story. It's very helpful because there are many players involved in the finale. Ella is a force to be reckoned with. I loved her. The story will keep you questioning what will happen next. 4.5 Stars!

An amazing finale.

What a gripping three-novel story. The writing is laced with a sharp tension like a tight rope over a gaping chasm.

The more snippets of truth Ella remembers, the more dangerous everything and everyone around her seem to get. The treasure-hunting organization The Underground devotes all its powerful resources to finding the missing piece in Ella's past and to defeating all the open fronts. War is in full throttle.

I loved that atmosphere of finality, of big weapons being drawn in the dark and against monsters. The scene of the meeting in the War Room was enormously rewarding. Through a maze of clever plotting and foggy secrets, Ella and Kayden pull a tug-of-war in their relationship. Trust and a future together are in the balance, and their conversations as well as their physical intimacy were breathtaking and sultry.

Ella is indeed Lady Hawk, a badass tigress who's survived countless odds and violence, and I'm in awe. The secrets, conspiracies and crimes are a veritable Gordian Knot, and when it's cut in the novel's exhilarating end, it really bursts with emotion and thrill. I loved this trilogy with its intense atmosphere, the smart dialogues, the amnesia that covers up a singularly riveting plot, and the wonderful characters. I'm going to miss all of it.

(This is my honest opinion of an arc I first reviewed on my blog Literaria for a tour)

Surrender is the 3rd and final installment of the Careless Whispers series. You have to read in order, this is not a stand-alone book.
Kayden, oh god Kayden. You just love him a whole lot more. He is the leader of a secret organization of hunters known as the Underground. He is ruthless and cut-throat when it comes to those he loves and cares about. His men are his family, Ella is family! He’s doing everything in his power to keep her safe from harm. History will not repeat itself with Ella.
More of Ella’s memories are unfolding. She’s growing stronger and more confident in herself. Ella is NOT weak. She’s strong enough to stand by Kayden and be his partner in all things. But first thing’s first, she wants no she needs her memories back. Ella is not who she was or portrayed herself to be, her gut is telling her that much. CIA? FBI? School teacher? Who is Ella Ferguson? She knows who she wants to be. She wants to be Kayden’s woman.
She wants to find that damn necklace before two crazy mobster brothers do. She wants to solve the mystery of her father’s death. She wants to talk to her best-friend Sara. So many obstacles to overcome but the key to it all….is her memory.

If you’ve started this series, you have to finish it. The mystery, the what if’s, will overtake your mind. This was a great conclusion to an amazing series. An amazing spin-off series. I’m sad the ride is over but glad I got the whole story.

Title: Surrender
Author: Lisa Renee Jones

5+ smashing stars

It took three instalments to finally get all the answers to the many questions that the first two books had left: answering some and creating so many others. I'll hand it to Lisa Renee Jones, she absolutely knows how to keep her readers in the dark until she's good and ready to reveal any type of tid bit that would lead Ella and Kayden one stop closer to unlocking her memories and the mystery behind the woman who lost everything but gained so much more in one night. Surrender starts off exactly where Demand ends, so reading both instalments is absolutely crucial if you want to understand what happens.

4 breath taking dreams

This couple never ceases to amaze me: as strong as their connection is, the unknown of what Ella's memories hide makes so many uncertainties that sometimes creates many tensions between the two. However, like the man we've come to know, Kayden sticks by Ella's side during the entire ordeal, showing us just the kind of man we'd all wish we had or that we have. I can't get enough of Lisa Renee Jones' writing and I can't wait to read more by her very soon.

I loved reading this conclusion to another wonderful series by Lisa Renee Jones. This series has everything... romance, suspense, a sassy and strong heroine, a hot and protective hero, chemistry and a great story line.

In this book Ella gets more flashbacks until the puzzle is solved. But who can be trusted and who can’t while gaining new information. Will Kayden see how strong she really is? Will their relationship be strong enough with all the secrets revealed?

What I did miss was an epilogue. This couple has captivated me 3 books long and for me personally it ends to abrupt. They finally get their HEA but I would have loved and epilogue to see in their future. Let’s hope to read more about them in another book... Speaking about another book. I wouldn’t mind a book on Sasha and Adriel. Please, please, please ... write their story for us!

I also loved reading more about Chris and Sara from the “Inside Out” series which is also worth reading if you haven’t already .. If you haven’t read that series yet I would suggest to start there since this series is a spin-off of the Inside Out series.

WOW Lisa what a fantastic ending to Ella and Kayden’s story.

I am not sure how this series was going to end but it was nothing but short of amazing having started Ella’s story a little in Inside out series, I have always wanted her story because I had always been intrigued to find out what happened to her, and we get it over this 3 book series and so much secrets came out I never even seen any of it coming from who Ella really was and to why she disappeared.

Am not going give anything away you must read the first 2 books to fully understand the story.
All my questions have been answered, this was such a rollercoaster of a ride.
Fantastic ending for Kayden and Ella story so prefect this whole series.

And of course, we get to hear from Chris and Sara from the inside of series also if you haven’t read them they are a Must.

This book had it all I was sitting on the edge of my seat and had to keep going till the very last page. It was Fast paced, thrilling, passionate.

I really hope Lisa will give us more, I am sure some of the side Characters deserves a book. And I would really love to hear about Kayden and Ella’s wedding so maybe one day.

SURRENDER follows the actions of revelation of secrets, mysteriously interwoven ploys and agendas in the web of deceit, greed, lies and betrayal, continuing right where the plot ended in book 2, DEMAND...
And once more, the undeniable passion and carnal hunger between The Hawk - Kayden, the boss of The Underground (aka The Treasure Hunters) and Ella, whose amnesia is coming in clear, overtakes the notion of safe, solid and strength beyond the common notion...
"Just know this. I would never betray you. I would never hurt you. I would, as I have said, and will say over and over, die for you.
as they move the boundaries and stretch the web-lines within, creating their own inpenetrable cocoon of their own inner world...as they fight the enemies, defeat the cruel, dangerous ploys against them,
"But we're just beginning and I plan to live every day with you like we're dying. And to kiss you like I will never kiss you again."

It was fast, exciting, dangerously enticing and passsionately hot action packed story...gathered around a butterfly necklace, chase and suspense, mobsters, cops...and a whole lot of gray portrayls in between... *wink*

Surrender ( Careless Whispers #3 )

We are finally here, the conclusion to this trilogy. It was everything I wanted and more. At the beginning we get a great summery of the main characters and what we know from previous books. I’ve noticed this before, and considering the time lapse between books, it’s a great tool to put you in the right frame of mind. As most of us haven’t the time to reread the others in the series to remind us.
It’s very difficult to do a non-spoiler review when you’re bursting with excitement. The relationship between Kayden and Ella is now better than ever as they work as a team to eliminate the threats to Ella and the Underground.
As at the end of Denial Ella and Kayden are very much in love, and all Kayden wants to do is protect Ella. I will say after the planning something unforeseen always happens, and Ella knows she can defend herself when needed, and her memory is nearly back to normal.
As always a great conclusion to the Careless Whispers trilogy. I read it in one seating, I couldn’t wish for more. A five star read in anyone’s book.

I have been anxiously awaiting the conclusion of Ella's story and let me tell you I couldn't have imagined a better one for this dynamic character. Not going to lie, I was on the edge of my seat for multiple reasons and ones I am not going to say. What I am going to say is FIRST- you MUST read the other two books in this series before this one or you will have absolutely no clue what is going on. SECOND- while it isn't necessary to read Behind Closed Doors, it gives you a little insight as to who Ella is which I found very helpful. It made so many things make much more sense. And THIRD- all of my questions were answered!! HALLELUJAH!!! I absolutely love every single book Ms. Jones writes, but this series holds a very special place in my heart. And Kayden oh my goodness what to say about him. I have loved him in all three books even though that was questionable for a little bit. In the end, Ella and Kayden's story couldn't have been more perfect!! Fantastic job!!! Highly recommend this series!!

This is book 3 in the Careless Whispers Series, and I was not warned that this series must be read in order. So, I read this as a stand alone. There’s a lot I didn’t understand in the beginning (the characters and what in the world was going on). Therefore, it took a while for me to get into this book. That tainted my experience a bit.

In Surrender our heroine, Ella, is struggling to regain memory and she does. It’s fast-paced action suspense with hot sexy times. The author is a wonderful writer, great at characters, and certainly has created an intriguing word. Ella is involved with two mafia stepbrothers: Niccolo and Neuville and must figure out how and why. There’s also a possible connection to the CIA and a butterfly necklace which factors into everything. She has to figure out all the pieces of the puzzle with time ticking.

Overall, Surrender was a captivating romantic suspense. I’d recommend read the first two in the series before this one. I’m going back to pick those up and fill in the gaps.

Finally got my hands on the ending of this story! I’ve been waiting to see what would happen to Ella and Kayden. I wanted to know more about her and what she had yet to remember yet.

In the sake of honesty, I still think that Kayden and Ella got together a bit fast for me in the beginning. I get how it worked but I would have liked it to be more gradual. Over the span of these three books I have grown more fond of Kayden and his relationship with Ella. I was rooting for them in the end.

This story is slow-moving and it could have gone at a bit faster pace. I still really enjoyed it and I don’t regret reading it. I am glad in the end everything was wrapped up and there was no holes left in the story. I liked the cameos we got in this book, that was a nice touch.

I love romantic suspense stories and I recommend you try these if they sound like something you may like. The story just reaches out to you and grabs you and doesn’t let go.

“My life is a foreign novel written in twenty languages, sweetheart. Complicated is what I do.”

I can't believe this is it. I have enjoyed every single book of this excellent, intense and addictive series.

“Win at all costs or die forgotten,”

In Surrender , the clock is ticking for Kayden and Ella who have to solve the puzzle. Kayden is a strong, charismatic, dominant alpha, he is the Hawk of the Underground, the one that you shall fear- his weakness, his Lady Hawk Ella. They are both trying to tame each other and to reach compromises but it is not always easy. The passion and the chemistry between them is off the charts and uncontrollable.

"But he’s going to really hate the moment he finds out that my surrender is my control—not his."

Ella has some unfinished business to deal with, but will Kayden let her put herself in danger at any costs? Will the truth tear them apart?

Explosive ending that had me on edge from start to finish.
I gave 4.5 stars because I would have loved to have an epilogue.

This book, Surrender, is the perfect book to bring this great series to a close.
If you haven't read the first two books in the series, they're definitely worth investing a little time in.

The characters are well developed and there's enough mystery to keep you on your toes.

Throughout the series we've gotten to know Ella and Kayden and traversed the struggles they come up against with them. There is more than one villain that you'll love to loath and with everything hanging in the balance, this book will have you on the edge of your seat.
All the questions we were left with in the first two books are tied up and it all comes together so succinctly but not before leaving you breathless with anticipation and angered by deceit.
I can't recommend this book, and indeed this series, highly enough. It's beautifully written, taking you on a journey of love, loss, betrayal and trust. Read it, I guarantee you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Jones delivers a riveting and jaw dropping finale to the Careless Whispers Series. She amps up the suspense, action, and intrigue in this book to give us a stunning ending, fitting of the series.
All of our questions are finally answered, truths are uncovered, and loyalties are tested. I loved seeing Kayden in his element as the Hawk. It was clear that there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for Ella. And Ella, she is such a badass; strong, brave, and smart. Together, they are even more formidable. A match made in heaven, or hell, depending on which side of the line you fall.
The intricate mystery that has slowly been unraveling throughout the series reveals itself at last, and I have to praise Jones for her cunning and brilliance. The story was carefully crafted to keep us on the edge of our seats. I loved every minute, the twists and turns, the surprises, the passion, all of it. Now I'm eager to see what Jones gives us next!

Ms. Jones has captivated me with Ella's story since I read If I Were You, and when she got her own series with Careless Whispers, I have not stopped thinking about Ella. She's somewhat of an enigma, but put together with the sexy Kayden, all the passion and secrets have come out. You do need to have at least read Denial and Demand before picking up Surrender, and while it is definitely not necessary, it is extremely satisfying to have read the Inside Out series prior to Ella's story as well.
The tale that Lisa Renee Jones has weaved throughout this series is complex, but answers are found in Surrender. It's a twisted tale about love, redemption, and intense chemistry. I absolutely loved it, and you won't be sorry that you picked this story up.
Ella and Kayden will stay with you long after you finish reading the book.

Well this series definitely ended with a bang! We finally learn all of Ella's secrets and the mystery behind the necklace. We also get to see inside the mind of her friend Sara and how she is dealing with finding Ella safe. Ella and Kayden's connection is stronger than ever but Ella's memory loss is preventing her from moving forward with Kayden. The mystery of the missing journal pages continues to bother Ella, could there be traitor in their group or is Ella's blackouts getting worst? Will Ella fully understand the connection between the memories of her father and the necklace?

Great ending and fast paced. There is a lot going on in this book, between Ella regaining her memory as well as finding the connection with her past and present; therefore, it got a little confusing to keep up but didn't diminish the story.

If you like suspense, this series is a must read! This is the third book in the series and you must read the first two in sequential order. They both end on a cliffhanger and this is the conclusion.

I was so drawn into this series. It was definitely one that kept me guessing on who was good and who wasn't. Who should Ella trust? Could she even trust herself? I was questioning everybody! I mean all that she really knew for sure that she was in love with Kayden but was that going to be enough when the truth comes out? What exactly is the truth? Is it what her memories are showing her or what people are telling her? Will she gain her full memory back before it's too late?

I really like Ella, she's not to be underestimated in any circumstance. When the chips are down will she be able to do what needs to be done before time runs out???

Loved this series!

I was really looking forward to reading Surrender as I was more than ready to get the answers to all of my questions in regards to Ella. Surrender is fast paced with some suspense. There were a few twists that took my by surprise. The snitch was not who I was expecting and I was kind of sad that it was that person. I really liked that character. The connection between Ella and Kayden is even stronger than before. I loved how they worked together even when there were some doubts. They really complemented each other. The story as a whole was engaging, however, I felt like the ending was rushed. We get so much depth throughout the whole book only to have everything come to an end rather quickly in the last couple chapters. I wish there was a bit more angst to the conclusion considering how much Ella and Kayden went through to finally get there.

Surrender begins were Demand left off. With Ella’s memory slowly returning the plot thickens. More enemies, more suspense, more twists and turns which will keep you on the edge of your seat. There is not a moment where you can’t wait to turn the page to find out what happens next.

Chris and Sara, two of my favorites are back, adding to the suspense. Kayden’s number one priority is to keep Ella safe. Ella feels the only way to keep everyone she loves safe is by regaining her memory and find the neckless. What happens when she does remember? Will she be able to protect the people she loves?

Riveting, exciting, thrilling, captivating, these are only a few words to describe this story. An incredible conclusion to the mystery. One not to be missed. Lisa once again delivered and did not disappoint.

What a great ending to a series!!! The suspense and mystery of it all had me on the edge of my seat more than any other book in the series. The need to know Ella's story had me glue to my kindle.
I'm usually not one for Romantic Suspense but Lisa Renee Jones just has this way of drawing me into the story, leaving me no other choice but to be immersed in the storyline.
It was an intense ride with twists and turns that were unexpected. I loved everything about it even getting Sarah's POV in this, though I have not read the Inside Out series. It's on my TBR. I am planning on reading it very soon.
I can not wait to read more from Lisa Renee Jones.

***Series must be read in order, Denial, Demand, Surrender.***
