Behind Closed Doors is fabulous story filled with fast-paced action and suspense as well as sizzling romance. I was enthralled with this book from beginning to end. Skye is working two jobs to save so she can go back to school to become a lawyer. Her friend Ella talks her into a storage auction, she finds a note and a poker chip and from there Trouble I mean Jason(RedBull) shows up at her door. He is a professional poker player who's being blackmailed. These two are thrust together by circumstances beyond their control. They both are not looking for romance but neither can deny the sizzling sexual tension between them. This book is full of suspense, intrique, and steaminess. It is also a heartfelt romance about letting go and falling in love.

Lisa Renee Jones is an automatic one-click for me. I love her Inside Out series, Secret Life of Amy Benson series, and Careless Whispers spin off. Behind Closed Doors is a quick read that fans of the previous-mentioned series will enjoy. You see a bit more of Ella (from Inside Out and Careless Whispers) and a little more light is shed on her character, which is a fun easter egg for those familiar with her story. And to clarify: This is a full-length book. Lisa released the first few chapters on her website a while ago, so if you start reading and think, "I've read this before...," it's likely that you did indeed read the first chapters online, but it's now complete in this one-installment ebook.
On to the review: I loved Jason and Skye separately and as a couple. But I do feel like their story was rushed and not fleshed out as much as I'm used to with LRJ's characters. There was suspense and mystery that was entertaining, but at the same time, it felt drug out with lots of time jumping. Oh, the time jumping. That is the best way to take me out of a book. I was hooked in the beginning, but got a little bored towards the end. And I predicted the twist early on, which rarely happens in Lisa's other books. Very anticlimactic, unfortunately. Furthermore, the sexual tension and chemistry is there, especially in the beginning, but there's little delivered on the page that's shown and not just told to you. After their first intimate time together (which was hot!), I was expecting more, but it was glossed over from there.
As I mentioned before, I love Lisa's books, and will continue to read whatever she puts out. But I always give my honest opinion, which in this case is hard for me to do because I love her work so much. This is 3.5 stars for me, and I recommend it to those familiar with the Inside Out and Careless Whispers series.

Having never read many books about gamblers and Las Vegas i was certainly intrigued by this books synopsis and the teasers and cover i have seen floating around social media recently. I must say i have not been disappointed in this boo. I love how there was insta-love and serious amounts of action both between the characters and which the characters experience when danger comes into play in the book. I liked Jason a lot, i liked how straight to the point he was and especially the first meeting between Skye and Jason. Great introduction between the characters for me, a new and fresh way of meeting. Really recommend this author and this book. I know it is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone so do not wait go read it

Sexy, mysterious, suspenseful, and heated passion. Yes this book is exactly all of that and so much more. Lisa has the gift of suspense page turning gripping passion in all her books, this is right up there.
Jason and Skye are fun and filled with heat for each other. A thrill seeker and expert poker player Jason find himself in trouble with a clue that leads him to Skye.
Skye, trying to make extra cash buys a storage unit, just like storage wars, she doesn't find the money pot she was hoping to score. No, what she finds is a dangerous game that leads her to Trouble.
I love the thrill I got as the two of them banter their way into each other hearts. Passion with a dash of excitement and danger!

Loved this novel!! Behind Closed Doors, written by Lisa Renee Jones. The story of Skye, and Jason is so well written and entwined with The Inside Out Series as well as Careless Whispers and Tall Dark and Deadly. Skye noticed Jason at the storage unit and aptly calling him Trouble. Of course he has a name for her as well, he calls her Baby. I loved how the storyline progressed for these two characters. Learning how the international game of Poker is played was an added bonus. I also loved how the storyline handled Ella and Skye's characters so easily." I was given an ARC by the publisher in return for a fair and honest review. Thank you for this opportunity!! Linda-Rose Sternfeld

Behind Closed Doors by Lisa Renee Jones
This story is a stand alone with ties to both the Careless Whispers and the Inside Out series.
The story is about Skye, a bright, determined woman struggling to get ahead and go to law school, and Jason, a famous professional poker player. There is suspense, romance and intrigue. There is an exciting and revealing look into Skye’s friend, Ella, that puts together some of the puzzle pieces from the other two series.
I had a hard time putting this down. I have yet to be disappointed by a Lisa Renee Jones book.
If you haven’t read this author, this book is a good place to start.

This is where the Inside Out series meets the Careless Whisper series. She does state that this is different for her and I can tell that is true. It's a bit slow and then everything happens in the last part of the book. I would of liked to have this more evened out. I think the last part was also a bit rushed and all the action was glossed over and felt rushed. I think this didn't tied me over till Janueary to get the rest of Ella's story. I am still ready for Surrender lol.
I think people will enjoy this book and I do recommend it if it sounds like your kinda thing. I think it just wasn't my thing.

Behind Closed Doors started off really well. It’s suspenseful and had great build up. I liked the characters. I felt like Jason and Skye had great chemistry and I enjoyed the banter between the two. I think the idea behind the story was a good one and it had a lot of potential but it was a little predictable. I felt like certain parts were glossed over and we never really got full details as to why Skye reacted the way she did, like when it came to her ex. I was also disappointed in the ending. As I said you had this great build up but once you got to the end it was rushed and there was no depth to the conclusion.

Behind Closed Doors is a full length novel that is a spin-off from Lisa Renee Jones' Inside Out and Careless Whispers series. I highly suggest that those books are read first so that you have an idea of how the characters are tied together, but it isn't necessary. The story centers around Skye (who is a friend of Ella, the main character in the Careless Whispers series and also in Inside Out) and Jason, a famous poker player. I really enjoyed Skye and Jason's story, and I loved that we got a little insight into who Ella really is! This book is a fun and suspenseful story!

I loved this book! Lisa Renee Jones definitely knows how to write about romance and suspense. This book delivers on both with an added surprise giving us insight into Ellas's past from the Careless Whisper's Series. Skye is fiercely independent and smart. Jason is loyal, protective and incredibly swoon worthy. The passion between the two of them is explosive. The best part of the book revolves around the mystery that connects Skye & Jason in the first place. As it unfolds the story is intriguing and suspenseful. I'm in love with the ending! Another great book by Lisa Renee Jones.

This story pulls you in from the start because you are trying to figure out what is happening. I have not read the other series, so I don't know that background. Ella is a little mysterious and I must admit I was suspicious of her at first. They have a strong sexual chemistry and a connection to one another. There were some hot sex scenes in this story. This book has attraction, danger, intrigue, and poker. The story was well written, but I felt like everything came together and ended a little too neatly.

Skye bids on a storage auction and at first doesn't find nothing till she finds a key and notices someone watching her. Skye goes to bus station where the key opens a locker and there is a note and she meets Jason. Jason is a gambler and someone is setting him up and he is asking Skye to help him plus they got some chemistry going on. Can Skye trust Jason? Will Jason find out who's setting him up? Will they both resist each other? Drama, romance and little thrill in this book 4/5 stars *** I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book ***

Little did Skye know that the purchase of an abandoned storage building would lead to a super sexy poker player and a vengeful plot. When Skye meets Red Bull, the sexual tension is off the charts. When she goes to Vegas with him, she winds up in the middle of his poker world and the plot against him.
This book is hot, sexy and suspenseful. It also gives us a little bit of insight into Ella before she lost her memory. Ella and Skye are friends, but Skye isn't aware of just what Ella is. We haven't been aware either until now.

I am a big fan of the Inside Out series, and this story does not disappoint. I had no idea that purchasing abandon storage units could be so life changing. I had a hard time putting this story down, it is a definite mystery thriller.
Skye and Jason are definitely a match, giving into their feelings is a challenge, but with all the suspense happening around them who could blame them.

Jason makes some yummy promises, the kind that leaves wetness in the panties, "then he grins and says, “‘Eff them’ poker— and then I’m going to eff you every which way you’ll let me, baby.” He releases me and starts walking." I really liked this book Jason didn't know what he was expecting with Skye and that girl tested his limits from the first second they met.

I received this book for free for a voluntary review. This story is about Skye and Jason. Skye works two jobs to pay for law school so Ella talks her into buying storage lockers. Jason is being blackmailed and he thinks Skye is the blackmailer until they meet. This is a full length novel. It is on the vanilla side.

Fun read with a little suspense and sexy too. Great tie in to Ella from Careless Whispers series. Can't wait to see how it all ties together. This started as a free read online before the author completed the story and made it available on the store. This is not a reissue.

This is an amazing exciting suspenseful romance with Ella's friend Skye, and Jason, a professional card player getting their happily ever after. It starts when Ella and Skye attend an auction of storage units and Ella bids on behalf of Skye. She examines the contents and discovers a poker chip and a note stating "Jason it did not have to be this way." Having met Jason at the auction she knew who the note pertained to. An exciting adventure ensues as Jason and Skye have an immediate sexual connection and they go on solve this blackmail attempt and eventually gets their happy ending. Ella disappears to Europe and they do not know her whereabouts. This sets the stage for the next book, Surrender. We find out in this book Ella is not who she pretends to be. I really recommend this love story, Inside Out which is about two people who are always in control learning they can trust someone enough to love them unconditionally for the first time in their lives. This was a fabulous novel.

Behind Closed Doors by Lisa Renee Jones is a full-length standalone novel that follows Jason "Red Bull" a high stakes gambler, and Skye- a savvy girl who gets thrown into the mix of things after buying a storage unit at an auction. True to Lisa Renee Jones' writing, there is plenty of passion, lots of action, and great characters in this book. While this is a complete standalone, if you are like me and a fan of Ms. Jones, you will enjoy seeing a different side to Ella from her other series. I loved the banter between Jason and Skye, although it felt a bit rushed in the beginning.
I loved the setting of the poker world, and weaving it with a reality show was an intriguing concept. I can't wait to read more in the enticing world Ms. Jones has built! You'll find Behind Closed Doors holds your attention long after you finish reading it.
A huge thank you to the author and publisher for a copy via NetGalley to read Behind Closed Doors.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book so much it was hard to put down! Jason, AKA Red Bull, is a world class poker player who is being blackmailed. Skye is a hard working woman who just bought the storage unit of the person who apparently is blackmailing Jason. BAM this brings them together! The chemistry with these two is off the charts and cannot be denied. What starts off as a quick overnight trip to Vegas turns into a weekend and then much more. The mob gets involved and we have Ella in a whole new light. Catty dialogue from the peanut gallery while watching the matches to hot and steamy sex, this book has it all! Even if you have not read the rest of the series, you will enjoy this one!

This NEW FULL LENGTH novel by Lisa Renee Jones is so very hot! I love all of her books and series but this was a refreshing reprieve from major cliffhanging endings that leave you needing more but having to wait for it much like the characters sexy moments! Skye and Jason are captivating strong characters they are beautiful together and the storyline is a page turner that is suspenseful and leaves you guessing until the very end! I'm so glad that what happened in Vegas didn't stay in Vegas for these two. You'all feel like you are with them because you'll be up all night not being able to stop reading. I love the tie in to the Careless Whispers series and getting a glimpse into Ella's life before being found with amnesia!

I loved the little pieces of Ella's story that were in this book.
Now, with that being said... this book rocked! Jason and Skye are great together, and I loved every part of their story.
You don't need to read the Careless Whispers books in order to read this one as it's a standalone, but c'mon... why wouldn't you want to read the other books?

4.25 STARS
When Skye’s friend Ella suggested auction hunting as a means to earn extra money in order to pay for law school, she never imagined that her winning bid on a seemingly worthless storage unit would plant her smack in the middle of a blackmail scheme, get her whisked off to Vegas, and ultimately land her directly into the arms of a sexy poker-playing alpha male named Jason “Red Bull” Wise.
Initially discouraged by the fruitless storage unit she purchased, Skye’s hopes are reignited with the discovery of a key to a bus station locker. Deciding to take a risk, Skye heads for the locker, only to have her hopes dashed once again. The contents of the locker reveal nothing more than a single poker chip and what appears to be a blackmail note. Fear and trepidation fills Skye’s thoughts and senses, as she worries over her latest find.
Jason “Red Bull” Wise is a famous and successful poker player. He’s not only wealthy, but he’s sexy and tattooed and just the type of “trouble” that Skye doesn’t need complicating her life. But when a blackmail scheme devised by Jason’s former “hook-up turned stalker” lands him at Skye’s front door, “trouble” is exactly who's comes knocking.
Despite Jason’s accusations and their joint apprehension towards one another, the sexual pull between Skye and Jason isn’t easily ignored. On more than one occasion, they relent, caving to their overwhelming desire. Still, “lust and trust” don’t necessarily go hand in hand. While initially distrustful of each other’s motives, Jason and Skye push their suspicions aside and agree to unearth the truth together. But when doubts spread throughout Jason’s inner circle, it’s hard to know who can be trusted and who among them will prove to be disloyal.
Vegas is the backdrop for most of the action, with snippets of Jason’s professional poker tournament stirred into the mix. While not as sexually explicit as some of the author’s other books, the intimate encounters between Skye and Jason are just as sinfully provocative.
An interesting mix of sex, intrigue and suspense, “Behind Closed Doors” is a full length spin off novel that’s guaranteed to delight fans of both the Inside Out and Careless Whispers series. That being said, “BCD” is very much a stand-alone novel. While I will encourage readers to explore these other series, prior knowledge of them is not necessary to the overall enjoyment of this book.
