Nope; not gonna read another of these books. The author writes short books (I guess for the money) with cliff-hangers. A good author can write a series of stand-alone books that make you want more.
Also, the author has many gaps in his storyline. For instance, what happened to Thor's brothers who also got into the Legion? They simply disappear. Supposedly all of the Legion went on The 100 but no mention of them. And does Krohn (his pet) never grow? He can still fit inside his shirt. When the Legion leaves on The 100 the sea is 2 days ride but when they return you can actually see the ocean from the castle. He needs a good editor for many reasons.
Also, a new empire is now in play with really vile characters. I refuse to read about drinking blood and enjoying corpses.
Too bad Mr or Ms Rice, this was close to being a good storyline but you couldn't pull it off.

The writer has a great foundation for a good book but reading it feels like it is full of filler material. Like when you were in school and had to make a 10 page report out of 4 pages if material. I truly want to know what happens to our Heros, but I have started scimming threw the filler looking for things that serve the plot

This series is getting worse. I hated the idea of The Hundred, I thought it was incredibly stupid and it took way too long for them to figure out who killed the king in the last book. I plan on reading book 4 but I don't have very high hopes for it after this one.
A Charge of Valor (Book #6 in the Sorcerer's Ring) :: Princess (Of Crowns and Glory—Book 2) :: 9) (The Sorcerer's Ring Collection) - Sorcerer's Ring Bundle (Books 7 :: Night of the Bold (Kings and Sorcerers-Book 6) :: A Cry of Honor (Book #4 in the Sorcerer's Ring)

These Sorcerer Ring books are truly the best. Have not been able to put them down reading back to back which is something I never do with series.
Love the books so far and there are no real dislikes. The very first book and I was hooked. Wonderful read.

Considering how much written content is in books 2 and 3 this is clearly an attempt to nickel and dime ebook readers into paying $10 for barely 1 paperback worth of material.

The story isn't good enough and clearly borrows from wheel of time and other decent fantasy reads. Dont waste you money.

The same review for all the books in the series - same comments apply.

It was so promising...the writing style in itself is much more put together than you would expect from a novice writer. However, that seems to be its only saving grace. The overarching storyline is intriguing, but the details of the story leaves much to be desired. Certain ways that the characters act are just too unbelievable - how they talk, what they say.

It feels that the author is trying just a little too much. As the story (and series) progresses, I find myself reading just to finish the story line but I'm not actually reading the book, just scanning for the major plot points to advance the story just so I can finish off the story line.

I'd compare it to Raymond Feist and the Eddings, but the very very rough draft version.

When I started the first book I was very skeptical on whether I'd enjoy it or not. As others have said, there are loads of grammatical errors and sometimes the wrong name is used (ie: it may say Thor was such and doing/saying something when actually it was another character). It's irritating to say the least but if you can get past that then you will love these books. I have been drawn into the story and can't seem to get enough. I am currently reading the 5th book in the series. The characters are changing and evolving constantly.
However, there are a few things I'm not loving and they are that Thor seems completely oblivious that he has "powers" until the powers take over. I think it's silly to think that someone as intelligent as him would not be trying harder to learn to control and master his abilities which Argon has foreseen to be almost limitless.
Also it seems as if there are too many battles where one warrior is fighting against a hundred or more and is always victorious. Not likely but it's a world of fiction so I don't focus on that.
This storyline is really fantastic and has SOOO much potential if it were better written/edited.
Over all, as I said, I am enjoying the books and can't wait to see how it continues to unfold. Give it a chance with an open mind and you might be surprised!

I really liked this book. It seems that each book keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to read book four. The only thing that would make this series better would to make each book a little longer.

Interesting take on a society protected from the force that rules the rest of the planet. Thor is a little too lucky. I mean really always falling into situations he resoundly comes out of. Would be nice to see him succeed not so well once in awhile.

This book is jammed packed with action, adventure, romance. In book three Gwendolyn finds out who killed her father, the king. Morgan Rice, series of books are a great read, starting with book one. I can't wait to start reading book four.

The series started out a little predictable. The good guys can't loose even against unreasonable odds. In addition, if a character is un-named, they will die in battle whereas the main characters always triumph. But as the story develops, there are a few surprises to keep you guessing. I am currently on book #7 and it's only getting better with each book. A little like "The Hobbit" meets "The Sword in the Stone". Not quite as many sub plots and no graphic sex as in "The Game of Thrones". However it does have a "crazy King" with paranoia resembling "Hamlet".

I LOVE this book. With all the action, adventure, mystery, romance, and intensity, you can't go wrong. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good series to read, and for someone who's up for a lot of reading. The books take me about a week or so to finish, and I read moderately, but there Are about 13 books in this series! This is a must read.

The "good" characters are people I care about and route for. However, I am having trouble with the attacks on women (there were 2) and how the "bad" people keep making life tough on the "good" people. I like the way Morgan sends people off on their own story line AND keeps us updated on the people. I bought books 4-5-and-6 to give the series a chance.

i have begun to become addicted to waiting for the next book, i want more and that is a good sign ther is still some flaws such as gramar but any inteligent person is capable of reading right through it.

I am happyly awaiting the next book!

I have enjoyed the first 4 books as fantasy novels go. My only complaint has to do with all the errors in spelling and sentence structure that occurred, I am assuming, during the transcribing. Those kinds of errors shouldn't be in books of prolific authors.
