Lake in the Clouds (Wilderness)

I am so delighted to have found this series - start at the beginning and enjoy the ride!

I was looking for something to read that would grab me like the Outlander series and this series has filled the bill!

This is another one of Sara Donati's wonderful creations. This book keeps you guessing and the characters have become part of our family. We really enjoy her books. We hope she never quits writing.

The writing is really excellent and the interjection of historical applications, facts, period style and actual characters make Donati's saga an epic masterpiece. This is the only series I've read that parallels the Gabaldon Outlander saga in quality.

Well written and with an entertaining and fast paced story line. I would not hesitate to recommend this book - as with all of the books in the Wilderness series. Check them out and read them in sequence.

Wonderful continuing story of a family in the early American wilderness. Great characters in different situations in pioneer times of our great country. Really enjoyed the whole series of adventures of the different generations of this early American family.

Interesting combination of wilderness and Indian lore, plus the "civilization" of some of the characters. Back and forth to England and Scotland, bringing in knowledge of sailing in those days. It was a good adventure.
