4 stars! This review is for Royal Mattress by Nicola Rendell. I will add reviews of the other stories in the anthology as I finish them.

This story was too cute! I loved it! A fairy tale retelling of "The Princess and The Pea", this is the story of Dave, a millionaire mattress company magnate who also happens to be an exiled Prince of Greater Moravia and Lower Bohemia, and Lisa, who runs a struggling bakery, Princess cupcakes. Dave lives in a huge estate outside of Newark. His kooky grandmother is always trying to fix him up with women who also have a lineage from their former kingdom. One afternoon when a huge blizzard hits their area, Lisa happens to be driving home to Rhode Island after a baking convention. Her car crashes into a tree and she walks to the closest house, which turns out to be Dave's. She nearly freezes to death, but Dave saves her. There is an instant connection and chemistry at first meeting, which soon leads to some mattress mambo! As they spend the next few days snowed in together, it feels like fate brought them together for a reason... love!

The premise of this story was so original and light, sweet and funny! Dave and Lisa were great together and totally hot. I just wanted more! I wanted to know what came next for the couple. But I know that's just me being greedy. Overall, this was a cute story and I very much enjoyed it!

This is an amazing collection of eight novellas which are all twists on the fairy tales that we all know and love. These authors are all great on their own but to have them all in one book is something you don’t want to miss as it not only lets you appreciate the authors that are you favorites but allows you to experience new ones as well.

One of my favorites was Broken Hart by Nora Flite. In a modern day retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk Jack is 16 and a business transaction with Mr. Big goes bad and he is left badly beaten until Harper, a singer at the Golden Goose Club, rescues him. Eight years later Jack is seeking revenge and now Harper is being blackmailed into working as a stripper at the club. Will Jack’s plan put both their lives in danger?

Red Hot Pursuit By A.L Jackson

Damn. That definitely was not the Little Red Riding Hood story I heard a child. But it is one that I will think about as an adult. So freaking hot!!

Broderick Wolfe and Lillith Redd have been fighting via email for the last five months. It's heated words that turn them both on beyond belief but they can't let the other know that. They are supposed to be enemies. He wants what she won't give up. But he always gets what he wants. He has been fantasizing about this feisty woman for months but when she confirms that she is even more beautiful than he ever imagined, he wants her more. She can run but she can't hide the way she looks at him. The chase is on...

I absolutely loved every single minute of this book. The sexual tension between these two is seriously sin worthy. The banter is even more amazing. The story might be short but it's everything you would want in a full novel. I laughed. Got hot and bothered. And even teared up!

Quotes:

There was nothing like a strong woman who knew what she wanted. The best part was I wanted it more.

“What I really want to know is if you taste as good as you look.”

“You look like a broken heart.”

What a fantastic beginning to a new series by Lili St Germain! Knot may be a retelling of Repunzel, but Lili has added her own unique, twisted and dark spin to that old fairy tale! I know she can deliver reads that can have you cringing, but they are highly addictive too. Add in a little attraction, some suspense and it's a definite winner for me!

The Prologue was freaking amazing! Getting that glimpse into the type of man that Ignacio was, I just new he was a different kind of evil. Then learning what happened to Seraphina made my heart break for her. Thank goodness for Xavier. He isn't so innocent, but he had good intentions and he brought back a spark of hope for Seraphina, and I just wanted to see more of them together. Even though it was such a short read, I could see Xavier trying to work through his guilt, and it was sweet seeing Seraphina blossom a little.

Lili St Germain is a bloody genius when it come to dark romantic suspense. Even in this short read I know I want more. The characters aren't perfect, they have issues , but I just want to see them grow and survive in their dangerous world. Knot is the beginning of Seraphina and Xavier's journey, and I NEED to see what happens next!

Glamour is such a hot steamy read from eight very steamy hot reads from 8 amazing authors! You will always get me when a group of authors get together to make up a combo / anthology of there reads ... love it!! So many different stories, you get a bit of their style and I love that, BIG TIME!! My faves were Bedtime Story by: Sky Warren and Broken Harp by: Nora Flite. I am new to, not sure I've ever read their names, but they sure look familiar, I think?? Knot by Lili St. Germain, In A Stranger's Bed by: Sophie Jordan and Royal Mattress by: Nicola Randell. I have heard of, or have been meaning to read, I have promoted their books over and over on my book blog and was super excited to finally check out Red Hot Pursuit by AL Jackson, Ripples by Aleatha Romig and Music Box Girl by Sierra Simone. Hope that makes sense, you go for finding faves in authors you have read before ...but please don't be confused ... I loved them all ... for different reasons ... but if I were to recommend them book I would say 'cause of the authors I know ... yet ... for this grouping ... I now know I have gotta go read addition reads from these new authors to me now ... love it! ( ;

All the stories are all quick reads

Music Box Girl by Sierra Simone
The lure of the unknown has taken Tamsin and her friends to Persepolis a high class club frequented by the rich and powerful where anything goes. Tamsin meets Cal at the club who's only too willing to begin her sexual education. This is a filthy short naughty story.

Bedtime Story by Skye Warren
Jessica is a young woman on the run from an abusive family and partner with her baby Ky. Whilst driving to her escape she's stopped by the local sheriff. Finn is a man with a tortured past but Jessica and baby Ky bring out all his protective instincts. This is an insta love story that will leave you wanting more.

Knot by Lili St Germain
Seraphina lives in the dark alone there is no one to save her because she doesn't exist. Ignacio is the monster who keeps her prisoner, he's untouchable as the head of a drug cartel. Xavier is the 'doctor' that is on call when someone is injured. When these three people collide it sets Seraphina and Xavier on a very danger path. This was a great introduction to characters that are getting their own series.

4 stars: Red Hot Pursuit by A.L. Jackson
Brody and Lily are a winning combination of feisty and strong willed attitudes. Jackson knows how to write sweet and steamy and RHP isn't lacking either. A great short story that leaves you satisfied.
If the rest of the stories are of the same caliber than Glamour is sure to be a winning collection of contemporary fairy tale retellings for adults!

5 stars: Royal Mattress by Nicola Rendell
Oh my goodness, this story had me laughing from start to finish! Dave and Lisa are fantastic and Nicola Rendell sure fires up the steaminess! She and Alice Clayton need to get together because these ladies love their wallbangers - and we love to read them! - a book by those two might be too hot to handle though ;) A crazy winter storm, a mattress king, a cupcake princess, and a Ouija wielding grandma with the power of Google at her fingertips will provide you with laugh-out-loud fun that you won't want to end. I'm so sad it's only a short story, because I would love more of these three!

Romance with a fairy tale twist is becoming a preferred treat for me. And I knew I had to taste this anthology of novellas with glamour. Especially because one of my truly favourite authors have a story based on Sleeping Beauty among the other novellas.

Bedtime Story tells about a young mother fleeing from a dark fate only to end up in the hands of a lonely knight in shining armor that shows her true kindness for the first time in her life. This novella encapsulates the desperation of a woman with no hope in just a couple of scenes that were very intimate and heartfelt. The beautiful prose reflects the awakening of a woman under the fist of violence, and also the awakening of femininity to be free at last to express desire without the constraint of fear and pain.

Still, it was cut short in the end and felt a bit unfinished. Otherwise, it was quite a contradiction of sweet and dark, and very endearing.

(I'm happy to share my honest opinion of a book I reviewed on my blog Literaria)

I received an ARC to review Skye Warren's Bedtime Story and I happen to finished all of them. And it’s so good!!!!!

Glamour by definition is enchantment or a very exciting and attractive quality. And the book really did live up to its meaning. O.M.G!!! It's giving me all the feels! I loved it. So. Much. The stories on this anthology are unique, wickedly sexy and emotionally intense. How they pulled off these short spine-tingling stories is beyond me. I am in awe!

A Bedtime Story by Skye Warren is a Sleeping Beauty-inspired retelling. I loved it the instant Finn said, “Good evening, ma’am. License and registration.” It’s like my instinct kicked in and I thought that, this guy is trouble but he will be one of my book boyfriends and damn if I’m not mistaken after I finished reading this story. I've got my fill but I'm still craving for more! This book is pure addiction!

When Jessica’s on the run with her baby, she was really too tired to drive and it was apparent because a patrol car was hot on her heels. Caught herself on another town that night, she has nowhere to go and no one to trust. Especially not the town sheriff who might arrest her. They are the persons she should avoid in the first place. But then, this story goes with the line from the other book I’ve read that said, “right on the edge of fear is where trust could grow.”

How can feelings be change after few hours after you knew that person? Attraction can happen anytime especially when you least expect it. For the short time they spent together, Jessica and Finn found out that they are just both slaves of their own demons for a long time. They both stayed in the dark for far too long. Now that they found each other, together, they can break the curse and may they live happily ever after.

Despite being short stories, this anthology deserves highly positive praises. These are not just your ordinary fairy tale romance. It is addictive, exhilarating and brilliantly well-written. Amazing stories happened even in the dark and chaos and Glamour shine brightly to make its point. You can never go wrong with this one. Consider this as your guilt-free pleasure. A buffet of your favorites.

I voluntarily read and reviewed Broken Harp from this collection by Nora Flite
OMG this was an amazing modern day version of Jack and the Beanstalk, I LOVED it
Jack made a terrible business decision in dealing Mr. Big all those years ago- signing his and his ailing mother's life away to
that double crossing man. When beaten to an unrecognizable state and left in the alley,
the angel with the beautiful voice whom his eyes had followed all night at the club, would be his saving grace.
Harper still worked for Mr. Big- not as a singer but a stripper, she did what necessary to keep her family safe.
When a good looking man starts throwing around money, asking for lap dances,
talking about things like he knew her, whispering his plans of revenge she should be scared,
but she for some odd reason she feels safe around him.
I Hope to be able to read the other stories in this collection if this is any indication on how wonderful they will be.

Review for Nora Flite's Broken Harp.

Sweet, slightly sad, a tad bit angsty, and a whole lot of hot, Broken Harp is the story of Jack and Harper. She's the sweet angel who saved him once upon a time, and he's the dark knight set on revenge. When their paths cross years later Harper is surprised by the connection she feels to Jack, not knowing he's someone from her past. He's never forgotten her, but now sees she's someone who can completely throw everything he's been plotting and planning for years into an uproar.
I liked the instant connection and chemistry between Harper and Jack, and that this was a bit of a second-chance romance. And I loved Cena's sweet little self, and how protective "Hap" was of her!
I would have liked just a bit more there towards the end, with Jack and Harper. It felt a little too rushed and like things needed to be wrapped up by a certain point.

I'm excited to read the rest of the stories in the anthology!

~~~Broken Harp - Nora Flite
I love Novella's and this one didn't disappoint. Harper and Jack.
Jack, young and naive, was at a club and thought he was making the deal of the century with Mr. Big, so that he could help his mother. Wrong! After being convinced to sign on the dotted line he was hauled out back and nearly beaten to death by Mr. Big's henchmen. Harper, the step-daughter of Mr. Big, was singing at the same club. Jack fell in love with her voice. Luckily, Harper was leaving the club to go home and came across Jack and called for an ambulance, which saved his life.
Years later Jack is back and looking for revenge. He had no clue that Harper was Mr. Big's step-daughter. Jack had plans to kidnap Mr. Big's daughter to start the revenge process until he realized that Mr. Big's daughter was Harper's younger half-sister who she has been protecting.
What a great story. I can't wait to read the rest of book.
These are not your average fairytales. This is a great collection of great authors. All coming together to give us mini fairytales with HEA's to satisfy our cravings. I don't know about you, but I have been on an fairytale retelling kick for a little while now. These are all modern tales of old stories. With some new twists I might add.
I really like this collection/anthology. I have only read a few of the authors in this collection. So it's really nice to look at the writing styles of the others. To get a feel if you like it or not. I really enjoyed it.
Truthfully, I've been reading one story a night. Which is kind of nice, you don't get the urge to pull an all nighter so you can know what happens. Easily you can finish a story and feel satisfied with the ending and get a great nights sleep. I guess you can call it an Adult's Bedtime Story Collection!
I read the ARC, this is my honest review.
Ripple: The prince and the pauper was a delicious surprise written by Aleatha Romig! Short and sexy and vivid. Natalie is headed out of the country for Christmas holiday with her family. Dexter decides to intercept her and make her his.
This was amazing. I have always said Aleatha could write a phone book and I would read it. At first I despised Dexter but then through Ms Romigs magic story telling I adored him. Natalie became a strong heroine with a power she had no idea she possessed.
I would love to see more of how their relationship progressed and how Natalie's family accepts it. 5++
This review is being left for Broken Harp by Nora Flite.
Broken Harp is a really good novella that will hook you in from the beginning and keep it's arms firmly wrapped around you until you read the end.
Jack and Harper haven't had a brilliant life over the last seven years thanks to the evil Mr Big.
Mr Big is everything you hate in a book baddie and I was really routing for him to get his just desserts.
The story is very well written and the storyline flows really well.
You can't help guessing what is happening to Jack and Harper with all the delicious plot twists.
They have the banter,the chemistry and the heartache to make a brilliant novella.
I can't wait to read the rest of the 7 short stories when Glamour is released as Broken Harp has definitely wet my appetite for this anthology.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Jessica's running from her abusive ex, a mob enforcer, after he beat her when he found out she was pregnant, he then kicked her out and, showed up a long time later, demanding to see his son.
Finn was in an accident where the girl with him died due to a drunk driver. Happened before he was a cop.
Finn pulled Jessica over for driving erratically and took her to the station so she could sleep for the night because the B&B in the small town was closed and she couldn't sleep in her car. As someone has to stay at the station with her he spends the night as well.
And so Beauty sleeps on...........
This story is absolutely beautiful, and touching and poignant and it does Sleeping Beauty proud. From the start you could see the charge in the air between the two even though it took them a while to realize it themselves. Beauty got her HEA.
I read an Arc for Broken Harp. Nora Flite retells the story of Jack and the Beanstalk with a dark twist. The lives of Jack and Harper have been ruin by Mr. Big. Jack is looking for revenge and she's a stripper looking for a way out. Can these two get what they want?
Broken Harp is a quick read with suspense. I read it in one sitting. Once I started reading it, I turned page after page until I finished. Mr. Big makes a good villain. I hated him. Though, the story was a bit rushed. I felt things happened too quickly, and I didn't get the satisfaction of Mr. Big getting what he deserved. I wished it was a little longer, but overall it's good.
After reading this Broken Harp, I want to read the rest of the stories in Glamour.
Reading Nicola Rendell's short story inspired by the Princess and the Pea was thoroughly entertaining.
Prince Ivan Alexander Hallsett Ratislav Stefanik IV, Exiled Prince of Greater Moravia and Lower Bohemia, but feel free to call him Dave, is the king. Of mattresses. See, already got the connection in a hilariously unexpected way!
Enter snowstorm of the century.. and stranded woman knocking on the door of the lonely villa.. and Boom!
Instant Connection. Goosebumps.
enter near-death experiences, granmas with ouija boards... and a whole lot of steamy hilariousness.
I cannot wait to read the other 7 stories in this anthology, if they are only half as good as this one, then we are in for a treat!
Royal Mattress by Nicola Rendell (5 stars)
"I had an old-fashioned belief in the one. I really believed, in my gut, that somewhere out there, there was a woman who needed me as much as I needed her."
Adored this story! Ivan Alexander Hallsett Ratislav Stefanik IV AKA Dave is an exiled prince, who made his money in luxury mattresses. He has the worst luck where women are concerned, and is a serial first-dater because he firmly believes in The One. He never expected her to appear out of a snowstorm.
Super hot, swoony, humorous, and heartwarming story. Loved it!
Royal Mattress for Nicola Rendell and Broken Harp Nora Flite.
Omg!!!! How can I expressed when your authors put their passion and write a fairy tale story in a dirty one? Omg! These stories were so hot that I wanted to take a shower in the middle of winter. Is not only talking about s*x but the writing. It was fire, passion and love! I wish I could read more of them in a very long book, but reading these made me feel like home, nothing like reading people you enjoy to read.
Fantastic !!! I read ripples by aleatha romig!!
I loved this story. I thought it was very clever and enticing. I loved this story because it was like visiting an old friend. Well done, aleatha ! I wasn't expecting any of that, honestly. Let's be real though, is there a book by aleatha that I haven't enjoyed? No. Because she's amazing. I know I didn't give much of the story away, but trust me when I say ... you want to read this. Loved it!!
Well well... when eight phenomenal authors get together and decide to write their own interpretation of fairy tales you expect the unexpected, and you enjoy it!!
The fairy tales we grew up with, had a complete devilishly dirty, kinky makeover and the result was a fun, twisted, dark magical carpet ride!
The versions of 8 of the most popular fairytales, 12 Dancing Princesses, Sleepy Beauty, Prince and the Pauper, Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood, A Princess and the Pea Story, Rapunzel, A Jack and the Beanstalk Retelling are fun reads all with unexpected twists and surprises!
I was so excited about this anthology, the authors writing in this anthology are a few of my favorites, and they stories are fairytales, I love fairytales. Actually to say I was excited is an understatement I was more than excited! The new sexier twists on these stories of old are amazing. You’ve got to grab this and read them. I really can’t choose one favorite story out of the mix because each story is unique, so each is a favorite in it’s own way.
You’re going to be sad if you pass up this anthology. I promise you’ll love each and every story.
Ripples - A Prince and the Pauper story by Aleatha Romig.
It was kind of like history repeating itself, like mother like daughter.
Dexter Smithers is 100% alpha and will do all it takes to make Natalie his by any means, no matter if they are illegal.
He reminds me of a certain someone, previous Aleatha fans will know well, but he's not as bad, he is more sexy dominant.
Aleatha sort took me back when reading this and it was such a good feeling.
I can't wait to read the other novellas by the other authors.
Ripples by Aleatha Romig, is A Prince and the Pauper story with a twist. This fairy tale is retold through the wicked mind of Mrs. Romig. I went in blind, having no idea what to expect so I felt my way and had my jaw drop a couple times trying to come to terms with this twisted fairly tale. While it's kept on the contemporary side. the mind games are fierce and plenty, making you question your own sanity. It was awesome, I wanted more like the greedy witch that I am, wishing more time to develop and spend with Nat and Dexter. Shorite but a goodie!
Review for Ripples: A Prince and a Pauper story by Aleatha Romig
They say not to judge a book by the cover and I definitely did when I saw this hot pink "Glamour." I expected a fun retelling of a fairytale and while this is a retelling it isn't at all what I expected. The story starts out quickly and continues to move quickly leaving you guessing with every chapter. I was actually shocked with the entire story and the ending left me wanting more. I don't want to provide any spoilers, but definitely recommend this one!!
I received an advanced copy for a honest review. This is definitely not the fairy tale your mom read to you as a child. Congratulations to this combination of writers and the people who made this book come together. These stories are set in modern day with some very sexual taboo and erotic undertones. Absolutely loved the different writing styles of each individual author and the storyline was great. I only wished that these were written as a individual book (as a series) because I'm selfish and I loved all the stories! Great read!
I voluntarily received an ARC of Broken Harp by Nora Flite that appears in this book. A great twist of Jack & The Beanstalk where revenge is a dish best served cold. It helps if there is a hot woman who was kind in a previous chance meeting and combine that with a super sexy male who was once used and abused but waited till the time was right to strike back. Here is the making of a wonderful love story with thrills and spills. Just the right length to be included with many other fairy tales that I am sure are as worthy.
Prince and the Pauper by Aleatha Romig is amazing with a huge 'oh my god' moment. After dropping out of Harvard and having to face her parents in France, Natalie boards a flight to Europe feeling deflated. Her seat partner for the flight is Dexter Smithers and then Aleatha explodes the story. It's Dark, it's twisted and it's full of surprises.
Highly recommend!
Red Hot Pursuit
Well, it's hot for sure. The chemistry between the characters.....instant, electrifying.
Combine a hot alpha male with a feisty women and you get hot and heavy.
With her standing up for what she believes in and him trying to do the right thing, those are obstacles big enough to overcome. But that is not where it stops. There are bigger mountains to climb. Loved the story. Loved the characters. Read it in one quick session. A definite recommend. A five star read no doubt......
Ripple: by Aleatha Romig
Aleatha Romig wove a tale around The Price and Pauper story, with Natalie and Dexter. I enjoyed the book and liked the "linking" to other works. I didn't fall in love with Dexter like I normally do with Ms Romig's male leads . The only thing I can think is that the short story was just a little too short. I do like her twisted tales though , and I look forward to more in the future. Maybe a longer story with Nat and Dexter and their family. :)
Knot by Lili St Germain.
Absolutely brilliant! I was really on the edge of my seat with this story.
Seraphina has been locked in a water tower since birth, by the evil and unforgiving Ignacio. He really is a piece of work
When Seraphina falls ill Ignacio has to call for the "doctor" of the mafia world Xavier. One look at Seraphina and Xavier knows he must rescue her from the tower. Loved this story it's dark and exciting and as always from Lili well told!
** Review based on Sierra Simone's contribution to this collection **
Ok. Wow. After reading just this one piece of deliciously naughty fairy tale candy, I need more. Sierra Simone's "Music Box Girl" is a grown-up retelling of "12 Dancing Princesses." It has all the things we love from Miss Simone - teetering on the edge of taboo with a good dose of kink. I couldn't put it down and know from my past experiences reading the other authors in this collection that this is a one-click.
A wonderful twist on the fairytales we love!!! Sierra Simone's Music Box Girl is a delicious decadent love story between an older experienced man and a young not so experienced girl who meet in unusual circumstances. It maybe a novella but it's crammed full of everything you expect from one of her books. It sizzles in a seductively salacious manner. It's written beautifully and has a happy ending as all fairytales should.
This anthology was a great read! Eight fantastic authors with a new spin on the fairytales we all grew up with. The novellas varied – from dark, suspenseful and twisted to sweet, heartwarming and romantic - a little something for everyone! For the most part, characters were well developed and the writing flowed well – making for a great reading experience! This is a great way to read new authors!
Glamour is an anthology of 8 hot fairytales, not like the ones your Mama read to you, just so much better! Each one is written by one of my favourite authors, each one different, but all of them so hot and sexy. It is impossible to choose a favourite because they are all amazing! You have to read these fairytales, but be warned, keep your hubby close ladies, you'll need him??
I received an ARC
