Best-Ever Big Sister

We're expecting our second daughter and I bought this for my older one. After reading it to her a few times, she started to love it so much that she'd grab the book and ask me to "say the big sister story" to her, at least 3 times in a row!

Lift the flap book. Focuses on differences between a baby and a big girl (can get dressed, potty trained, sleep in big bed, etc). My daughter is nearly two and half and I thought this was not so relatable to her (she's not potty trained and needs help getting dressed) but she still loves it.

First thing, the book I received was slightly different than the one shown in the picture. Plus I don't like how it switches from little brother to little sister. And yes, not all big brothers can read or use the potty.

I bought this for big brother expecting a baby sister. I assumed the baby in the book would be genderless, just "baby". Some pages have a baby brother and others having a baby sister....very confusing for young children who are already confused.

A little disappointing. We love all the other Karen Katz books with their adorable artwork and attention grabbing colors. They are usually really cute and engaging, but we found this one to be so-so. My daughter shows very little interest in it.

its more appropriate if you are expecting a baby boy. the book is about different big sisters who can do things that their baby brother/ sister can't do. While it focuses on big sisters of both boys and girls, it starts and ends with " my baby sister ..." so it's not a very appropriate gift if someone is expecting a boy.
