This gem belongs in the list of illuminating quest for freedom via expatriation. However, in this case the author has no sense of self importance and writes as a working stiff that decides to find what is at the end of the rainbow. Excellent very good read in the footsteps of Miller, Hemingway and all who found themselves in Paris

Loved it, especially since I had the opportunity to visit Paris and related to many of the scenes in the book. But since it is a non-fiction book, it is also a motivational book for those who need a change.

A wonderful true story by an intelligent and witty author. Life lessons as they were learned during a life changing adventure which became her new life. Couldn't put this book down. Les magnifique!

This book spoke right to the heart of me. Sometimes you write to learn what you already know and sometimes you have to read it from another kindred spirit. Thank you for pointing me to my own truth. -Linda Burandt

Enjoyed this book. Janice lived my fantasy life. I ordered one of her Paris letter and am looking forward to having it framed when it comes and I will have happy thought of her new life in Paris.

I was disappointed in this. The focus was too much on what didn't seem to me to be a very interesting romance rather than on real insights into French culture. I wasn't able to relate very strongly to the narrator.

Good book, enjoyable read about author's life experiences and Parisian experience. If you are reading this book then maybe the universe is also giving you guidance about your own life's paths to authenticity.

I loved the book. Downloaded it before my interrail trip in Europe. I have had laughs and tears and many knowing nods to situations in the book. I always find it soothing with the knowledge that people carry similar dreams and reflections. Well worth a read.

This book was really fun to read. I loved living vicariously through all of Janice's adventures in Europe and in life. I really liked the way she intertwined her former life in LA with her current experiences in Paris. I was especially engaged during the frequent times when she was honest and open about the challenges and her feelings as she was making this major life shift. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Loved this book - from the setting to the idea behind Ms MacLeod's journey of self-discovery as a woman and as an artist. Really makes me think twice about what I want for my own life, and the possibilities of change.

Very insightful and encourages you to look at your life's priorities while still being lighthearted & entertaining. Plus if you've ever been to Paris, Rome & UK it will bring back happy memories
