Needed the next upgrade for our daughter's music lessons, and I didn't feel like trapcing around from store to store to get her books. Where else to look? Why the store, of course! It arrived, lickety-split, and she was happily playing for her teacher in no time. Highly recommend this not only as a great lesson plan, but a great way to order!

I bought this on the recommendation of my piano teacher for my six year old grandson who is just beginning to take piano lessons. The illustrations are attractive; the songs seem appropriate to maintain the interest of small children as they are learning the pieces.

this book is great, good for younger players, like, ages 6 to 10 or even a little older. I thought I was getting a lesson book, with lots of little lines of music to have students practice. NOT SO, this is a Theory book, and it's all in the description, my bad for not reading it more carefully. It's full of worksheet type exercises, for students to take home with them from their lessons.

The book is much like the others with an emphasis on scales and theory, which is why I like this series. This book for some reason is not in color. That isn't a big deal, but since the others are it seems a little bland with all black and white pictures. There is a little too much emphasis on minor and my child is getting sick of gloomy sounding songs, but hopefully that will change soon.

Gave this book as Xmas gift to young advance beginner piano player. Her classmates enjoyed the holiday songs she played. She was excited to receive this book and practice for the 2017 Holiday class party,

My grand daughter wanted to learn how to play the piano but not really one who is ready for "real" piano lessons yet. She has my mom's electric piano (full 88 keys) and this book has been great for her to learn from.

In Mexico, they teach using the Solfeggio Scale. This book is useless for teaching in Mexico. Alfred apparently had this book translated from English, and I like the Alfred Method, when I am teaching in the United States. In Mexico, they do not use the letter names for the notes, but use the Solfeggio Scale (do-re-mi-fa, etc.). Do not buy this book if you want to learn piano so that you can communicate with other musicians in Mexico, or if you are teaching a Mexican student who hopes to continue his or her education in a Mexican school. I would also check the other Latin American countries before ordering this book - I suspect they too use the Solfeggio Scale System and not the letter name note system (C-D-E-F, etc.).

Our piano teacher uses this series of books to teach our kids. Currently I have three using various levels. They work well, and sometimes I can find them a little bit cheaper on the store and it saves me a trip to the music store.
