I really enjoyed this book. It had just the right amount of humor. If I could say anything negative it would be that the descriptive paragraphs lasted perhaps a bit too long. Other than that, it was very enjoyable with a sweet ending.

I rarely write reviews, but this is a positively delightful story that actually made me laugh out loud. If you are looking for a fun romance with a hint of intrigue and funny misunderstandings and a rascal of an uncle, you will enjoy this book.

I absolutely loved this book. The only reason I gave it three stars is because of the poor editing job. There were countless grammatical, punctuational, and spelling errors, as well as incorrect common phrase wording. Whomever was in charge of editing should pay more attention in the future.

Rich girl Shelby Taite is unhappy. She lives in the family mansion with her brother Somerton, his live in Jeremy, the family lush, Uncle Alfred, and she is engaged to Parker, who seems to be a cold fish. Uncle Alfred tells Shelby she should have an adventure and find out what life is really like before she settles down with Parker. While thinking about this her chauffeur, Jim, tells her about the small town he is from.
She decides to take a bus to East Wapaneken. She is lugging 5 suitcases with her. She meets Brandy who offers to let her live in her apartment with her. When Somerton finds out Shelby is missing, he cancels her credit card and hires a bodyguard to find her and watch over her.
Enter Quinn. Quinn finds her, pretends to be a writer and rents an apartment in the same building Shelby is living in. Shelby is working in a local diner as a hostess. He becomes a regular along with some Viet Nam Green Berets, and 80+ nearly deaf mayor who drives a '67 Caddy. The regulars are just like people you know. They could be your next door neighbors.
Quinn and Shelby fall in love. They both know they must tell each other who they are but they just can't seem to do it.
Enter Uncle Alfred, He shows up at Quinn's door. Somerton has thrown him out. He rents an apartment in the same building and gets a job as a busboy at the diner.
The strength of this book is the development of the love relationship between Quinn and Shelby and the development of the characters. Read this book and find out how all the problems are solved including Brandy and her boy friend who can't get married because of Mama. It is funny and heart warming.
I received a free copy of this book from the author. I voluntarily reviewed this book. My opinion is 100% my own.

What a great book this was, I really enjoyed it. I started reading it and just couldn't put it down. There was humour and a lot of Shelby making the world a better place without even trying. We should all have a friend like Shelby. The ending was both unexpected and very cool. I received this as an ARC and I am more than happy to give a review on a first class book. Mind you, this author cannot put a foot wrong in my view, she could probably make a telephone directory interesting to read. Especially if she put in her great touches of humour!

I normally don’t read contemporary romances, particularly those with heroes or heroines with eight-figure trust accounts. (I like my rich hero/heroine in traditional Regency romances.) BUT Kasey Michaels, one of my favorite authors, wrote this book, and she can handle any plot with wit and pizazz. Plus, I adore It Happened One Night, so I read.
I really liked Quinn from the beginning. I took some time warming up to Shelley. Can’t Take My Eyes off You is a pleasant read. The time I spent reading it was one of the most relaxing afternoons I’ve enjoyed in a long time. DISCLAIMER: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Shelby Taite is an heiress, an heiress worth around thirty million dollars and being a Taite she doesn't work what she does do is marry someone of suitable status and Parker Westbrook the Third or the Thurd as he's known to some, is such a person, her engagement is more a merging of families, her life is set out before her and she's bored, bored and fed up with it all so before she marries a man she doesn't love and produces the heir expected of her she's going to have herself an adventure and create some memories while she can. So she escapes to live a normal life, even if only for a short while.
This is a cute amusing book filled with some great characters, the more I read the more it grew on me, yes it's far fetched and some parts were dragged out a bit and there were places where I just wanted them to get on with it but all in all it's a good lighthearted read which I really enjoyed.
