Final Girls had me looking over my shoulder and nervous going to bed at night. I thought I figured out what was going on and then something happened and I didn't have a clue. I love thrillers but am usually disappointed in the end. Final Girls did not disappoint.

Really enjoyed this book, even bought it for my sister. It kept me on my toes thinking I had it all figured out and then surprised me! So I’m very happy with this choice and recommend it highly if you like a good mystery.

Reminded me very much of Gillian Flynn's Dark Places- another story of a Final Girl in all her screwed up glory. Kept me guessing until the end. Like Dark Places the plot gets a bit convoluted but the strong characters and fine pacing more than make up for it. Highly recommend.

Holy Wow!!!!! When Stephen King recommends a good thriller book, I am definitely going to read it. And damn he was right on with this one. From the opening pages when Quincy was running through the woods to get away from the killer I was hooked. My love for horror movies shined through lol

Don't want to say too much and give anything away, So just go read it lol

The book is told from the point of view of Quincy, 1 of the Final girls (someone who was the sole survivor of a massacre). She survived the Pine cottage killing. Her and her friends went to pine cottage to celebrate her best friend birthday and Quincy was the only one to come out alive. It is told in present day, But there were also chapters that jumped back in time to when they were at Pine Cottage.

Quincy survived and even was able to get on with her life (She has a cooking blog, is living with someone, has a nice Xanax addiction lol ). Then Lisa (another Final Girl who survived a sorority killing) was found dead in her tub. And then Sam (Final Girl who survived a hotel massacre) shows up on Quincy's door step. You can see where this is going right.

Once Sam shows up she starts trying to make Quincy remember what happened at Pine Cottage, Since Quincy has no memory of the killings (only from when before they started and then when she was rescued), which makes Quincy wonder why Sam is really there and why she wants her to remember. I do have to say some of the things that Sam had Quincy doing and the way Sam was acing, had me thinking "why are you going along with her and letting her stay. Kick her ass out" lol

As more and more things started to come light I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. And oh the twists and turns. I never figured anything out (even though I kept thinking I did), until it was all revealed at the end. And what an ending that was. HOLY WOW!!!!

I don’t normally read thrillers, but the premise of this book intrigued me.
I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll just say that I thought the pacing was good, the flash backs were great & well placed, the dialogue was good. The writing was smooth. The author really does a good job of making you question everyone involved- is Sam who she says she is? Is Quincey really innocent? Did Joe really kill all those people? It is convincing enough that I could see this as a one season Netflix drama show.

The cons- some of the characters were a bit cliched. Of course her boyfriend is an overly sensitive by-the-book “normie” that the reader can see doesn’t fit her from the first introduction. I also felt like, with all the various connections, there was no reason to make journalist Jonah know her from college. It didn’t add anything to the plot & was unnecessary & felt too contrived.

Other than that though I thought it was a pretty good book. Not my favorite thing I’ve ever read, but I will probably recommend it. I will most likely donate my copy to the local library to share it with others as I don’t think I’ll re-read it again.

Everyone should read this AMAZING thriller. I can usually guess the ending to the books I read but in no way did I see the ending to this novel coming. Holy crap. I wish I could forget everything I just read so I could read it again.
