This is another phenomenal book! I love the characters and the chemistry between Jack and Meredith. Their witty banter gets you hooked. I'm a mother of two under two and I found myself staying up late at night just to finish the book! I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!

This story begins with the main character, Meredith, not having the best day. She is on her way to visit her half-sister who she barely knows because she's finally gotten away from an abusive relationship and wants to start getting to know her older sister better. When Meredith finds out that her sister is out of the country at the moment, she ends up going to her sister's boss, Jack McNight, and talking herself into a housekeeping job.
Jack wants nothing to do with Meredith as he's been told she's a spoiled princess and has had nothing but an easy life. Jack is truly an arrogant jerk at the start and I give Meredith all the props for sticking it out, because besides his good looks, he isn't winning any personality contests LOL.
This book was fantastic! I love the way this author writes her female characters and I also love that it wasn't instant love (or even like) because it just makes it more realistic. She describes her characters so it's like you can see them and the story playing in your head like a movie. There were funny parts and touching parts to this story, as well as downright HOT parts and I loved all these parts.
Any romance fan needs to read this book! 5 huge stars!

RS Grey improves with each amazing novel she puts out and this one is no exception! I loved Jack and Meredith so much! Meredith shows up at Jack's ranch on a recommendation from her sister to help cover while she is on vacation. Their first interaction shows the spark and fire that will eventually evolve in their relationship.
You will love this story so much! If you follow the author on FB or Instagram, you will find some familiar items from her life such as Meredith's love of yoga!

LOVE this book! Smart and witty banter, an enemies to lovers story-line, amazing chemistry and a super sweet romance - this book has everything I love in a good romance! Meredith and Jack are two of my favorite characters ever! I love that Jack comes across as a huge jerk and I love that Meredith is a strong woman finding her independence. This is one of my favorite books this year - a top pick of 2018 and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a swoony, sweet, funny and sexy romance!

I loved this book! My favorite thing about Rachel’s writing is her ability to write fantastic dialogue, and in this book I highly enjoyed not only the spoken out loud dialogue, but the inner dialogue as well. The chemistry was there. The side characters were entertaining and the balance between comedy and seriousness was well done.
Oh and I am obsessed with the cover, so much so that the people on it worked well for my character visuals.

R.S. Grey comes out with another stellar book! This is definitely one of my top 3 favorite books that she has written. It builds up the anticipation just right, along with a few laughs in between! Give this book a go and you won't be sorry! If you don't buy it, an arrogant devil will come after you :P

When it comes to RomCom, nobody does it better than R.S. Grey. Between her quirky characters, their quick-witted banter, and their absolutely winning personalities, it’s a recipe for success. I knew the moment I started ‘Arrogant Devil’ that this was my kind of read. ‘Arrogant Devil’ was the perfect wicked slow burn with dynamic characters, and a plotline that hits you in the feels, like RS Grey has perfected. It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon, just losing yourself in the pages.
Talk about getting off on the wrong foot.Jack and Meredith are instant enemies... so their love story is utterly hilarious.
Meredith leaves her horrible husband however with no money, no clothes, and absolutely no place to go, she’s in more than a bind. Thanks to her step-sister, she ends up in Texas, at Bluestone Ranch. There she meets Jack, the biggest arrogant ass under the sun. He’s tainted by preconceived notions of who Meredith is, he’s ready to give this California Princess a run for her money. He wants her to quit and leave him alone. But as often happens not all is what it seems...
If you need a good laugh...or twenty and you need a swoon, R. S. Grey flawlessly achieves each. Reading the internal thoughts of Meredith was fabulous - I loved her! Jack had no choice but to fall for her determined and audacious ways. I adored every moment of this tug of war.

The reason that the h left her husband was because he was verbally abusive, he lavished her with an elite life, and there is a hint that he cheated, but that's never mentioned as the reason she left. So who did she fall in love with ? A verbally abusive H who treats her worse than a dog putting her to sleep in an old shack with rats and bugs and holes? Sorry, that's just victim mentality. It would have been WAY better if her husband had been a cheater and that's why she left him. So the set up just lost me. Also, she really has NO thoughts about her future for more than 6 weeks beyond 'I am going to clean this toilet the best' kind of thing? The word divorce never enters her inner dialogue for more than 70% of the book, nor what she even thought she might see as a future she would want. I don't get it. And honestly, by the time the actual s*x came about in almost end of the book,I was too bored to read it. Sorry, but I didn't care anymore. I know why it was set up that way, but it left me apathetic.

This book started off strong and I was actually really excited about it. Woman leaves bad situation, enemies to lovers romances type thing. But then her sister didn’t believe her or take her seriously about leaving her husband, and then spouted BS about how she would probably run back to him in a week to the person she promised she would help the heroine get a job with. Suddenly no one (but blessed Edith) believes her). So I’m thinking “Okay, the ex will show up, be going off on her and the sister will happen to come back in the middle of it.” Right? No. The simplest, stupidest roundabout resolution is written with no real climax. Then the woman is suddenly so forgiving to the “hero” and her sister for not believing her tales of emotional and verbal abuse. Not only that, but suddenly she’s in this relationship and flips from “I’m a strong woman, I’m going to take this man now because he’s mine and I want him.” to “Oh, my feelings are so overwhelming just do what you want” and they practically begging like a child to do it again when they finish. I honestly had a hard time getting through this one and I usually am a big fan of RS Grey books.

NO SPOILERS!
Bravo, R.S. Grey, bravo! Arrogant Devil was such a pleasant surprise. Some of this author's previous books have been hit or miss for me, but Arrogant Devil has honestly been her best novel to date! It was a sexy, funny, and highly entertaining standalone romantic comedy, and I absolutely loved it! The storyline and characters were phenomenal, and I loved R.S. Grey's writing style and sense of humor. Arrogant Devil was such a delight to read, and I can't wait to see what this author releases next!
The storyline was great and even better than I imagined. I'm a big fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, and this book certainly fit the bill. Even though it was a slow burn romance, and those aren't always my favorite, I absolutely loved this one. Arrogant Devil had laugh-out-loud humor, just enough heat to satisfy me, funny and lovable characters, an idyllic small town setting, and everything else I could ever want in a romantic comedy. R.S. Grey did a fantastic job with this book, and I couldn't have loved it more.
The characters were amazing. Jack and Meredith, along with several others, were wonderful, and I loved them so much. I loved their personalities and red-hot chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. I loved reading the book from both Jack and Meredith's point of view, and all of their banter and interactions with each other. Since this was an enemies-to-lovers story, it definitely wasn't an easy journey for Jack and Meredith. "Arrogant Devil" was certainly an apt name for Jack, at least in the beginning. It took me a little while to warm up to him, but in the end I really loved him. Meredith was an excellent heroine, and I loved her dearly. She was strong, independent, and I loved her quirkiness and sense of humor. Her inner dialogue was hilarious, and she made me laugh a lot. Despite some of the ups and downs between Jack and Meredith, I loved going on this journey with them, and I was so freaking happy with the conclusion to their story. It made me smile from ear to ear and was even better than I hoped it would be.
Arrogant Devil was a sexy, hilarious, and addicting standalone romantic comedy, and I would HIGHLY recommend it! R.S. Grey did an excellent job with this book, and it has definitely been my favorite novel from her so far. I was ecstatic with the outcome to Jack and Meredith's story, and I won't forget it anytime soon. R.S. Grey knocked it out of the field (wink, wink) with Arrogant Devil, and I'm so excited to devour more from her!

I absolutely loved the writing style in this one, my fellow romance book loving friends. Though told in dual first person, which can be tricky, R.S. Grey nailed it. Meredith's humorous, inner monologues regarding the circumstances she now found herself had me grinning and giggling aloud at times. Not that it was all wine and roses for her. No, siree. She's carrying around a boat load of sadness, as well. What some might consider "living the dream" had turned into a nightmare for her. She's learned the painful life lesson that all that glitters is not gold. My heart broke for her when the only one person she thought she could count on didn't have much faith in her at all.
Too easily Jack jumps to wrong conclusions and his hurtful at times words/actions added to Meredith's misery. Yeah, that was hard to take and continued for quite some time. Seeing him have to eat those words and grovel for forgiveness, well, that was brief but priceless. An unexpected family member seems to always step in and intervene just enough to keep these two on the right track.
Not only does the tide eventually turn towards Meredith's favor, but she ends up rescuing Jack from his own worst enemy, himself. He learns to pull down the walls around his heart and let his love for Meredith in.
Romance Safety: </spoiler> Meredith just left her very rich, mentally abusive husband and is trying to start over, so she's still legally married. Doesn't have the money yet for a divorce. Jack currently has a girlfriend, but, due to his busy work schedule, he's seldom seen her over the past two years they've been dating (once or twice a month at most). She doesn't live nearby. After losing his parents and taking over the family's several businesses at a young age, he's going through the motions of living but keeps people at arm's length. There is a brief girlfriend cameo where she shows up and they go on a date. She tries to make him jealous...doesn't work...and she breaks it off with him...rather amicably. No shouting, no hurtful words...Just the facts. Jack says very hurtful things at times to Meredith based on false assumptions and even tries coldly to ignore her presence, because he assumes she's going to up and leave .. like she left her husband. He grovels some but it is brief. She's already figured out what is wrong with Jack after learning about his past. You won't like the nasty, living quarters he gives her when he hires her to be the maid. She has a backbone though and makes lemonade out of every sour, rotten thing that happens to her. </spoiler>
Title: Arrogant Devil, Author: R.S. Grey, Pages: 356, stand-alone, hurtful at times hero, trying to start over again heroine, mentally abusive spouse, brief OW girlfriend drama, separated from her husband, very steamy scenes, humorous heroine, great cast of sub-characters, small town setting, loved the writing style.

You guys, seriously, you have to read Arrogant Devil!! I can't remember the last time I loved a heroine more than I did Meredith. She's so real. She's so strong. And she made me fall in love with her right from the beginning. It took me a little (a lot) longer to fall for Jack because he was downright cruel to Meredith for the longest time, but he eventually won me over, just as he won Meredith over, although I'm still not sure if he deserves her.
Meredith married her first love, Andrew, 5 years ago. They were happy at first, but slowly the tide turned as he climbed the corporate ladder. He started verbally and emotionally abusing her to the point that she was his punching bag. She became so withdrawn and compliant that she never stood up to him. He eroded her self worth. He eroded her will. Until she snapped and walked out on him. That's where her sister came in. Not willingly, and not graciously, because Meredith and she were never close, and Helen really resented the person she thought Meredith was - a spoiled princess who got everything Helen did not. But, they're family, so when Meredith asked Helen to put her up, she reluctantly agreed, only because she was out of the country on vacation, she told Meredith she could temporarily take her place as the assistant to Helen's boss, Jack McKnight.
From the very beginning, Jack was given the wrong idea of Meredith, thanks to Helen's resentful bs, and he resented the fact that a spoiled city girl was going to be living and working on his ranch. He was determined to make Meredith leave. He underestimated her, though. He thought she couldn't hack it when he made her live in a literal shack that had no A/C (in Texas of all places!!), had floorboards missing, and was infested with vermin. He thought she wouldn't want, wouldn't be able to, become his housekeeper (maid). But Meredith had rediscovered her will, and she stood tall to her arrogant boss. And everyone around her except Jack, fell in love with her because she's awesome. Jack's amazing grandma Edith was first to see in Meredith what Jack couldn't, wouldn't, see - that Meredith had character, had worth, had been abused and was just now building herself up. Then Jack's Golden Retriever Alfred fell for her even though Meredith was at first scared of him. Then all Jack's ranch hands. And the rest of their small town. If only Jack would take off the blinders Helen had imposed on him, and see what a really great person Meredith was.
The slow burn of Arrogant Devil was delicious. The tension between the two was addicting to read. And when they finally gave in, I was cheering, because Meredith really deserved something beautiful in her life. And she finally got it and I was a little teary eyed by the end cuz like I said, I adored her from the very beginning.
So if you have any interest at all in a beautifully told, sweet and sexy story filled with an amazing cast of characters, I highly recommend you 1-click Arrogant Devil today, right now in fact. You'll fall in love with Meredith and her arrogant rancher, Jack, Grandma Edith, Alfred the lovable Golden Retriever, and all the ranch hands of Blue Stone Ranch.

Meredith Avery just left her husband. With her decision to just get up and leave, and with the lack of any actual planning, she finds herself in quite a hard spot pretty quickly. But, she is determined to start over, and the first thing she needs to help her accomplish her goal is a job. Unfortunately... the reception she receives at her new employer is a tad... unfriendly.
Jack McNight doesn't have time to cater to a princess who is obviously playing some kind of attention seeking game with her husband. Since he already agreed to give her a job, he figures if he does everything in his power to make life difficult for her, she will be out of his hair in no time. What he didn't count on was Meredith. She is willful, doesn't back down from any challenge that he hands her, and she isn't even the slightest bit afraid of him...
Meredith is intent on doing her job and figuring her life out, and one jerky boss isn't going to bring her down. Especially one who is as good looking and as completely insufferable as Jack McNight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Must read book alert!! This book was the ultimate slow-burn romance, featuring a sexy and (of course) arrogant ranch owner (cowboy!!) and the previously pampered and currently destitute woman intent on turning her life around...
When Meredith escapes her marriage and life in California, all she can think of is getting out of town first and foremost, deciding she will figure everything else out on the way. When she arrives at her destination in small town Texas, she has nowhere to live and only the slightest possibility of a job lead. And then she meets her potential employer...
Jack is buried in work with no help in sight. And then Meredith shows up and his already stressful life skyrockets to unfathomable heights. Sure, he promised to give Meredith a more than likely, very temporary job, but he sure would enjoy seeing her squirm a little before she ultimately gives up and moves on.
With personalities that are constantly at odds, this willful duo is set to show the people of Cedar Creek, Texas just what they think of each other. But, when first impressions prove to be incredibly wrong, Meredith and Jack find themselves actually... liking each other?
I absolutely loved this book. The characters were interesting, stubborn and so much freaking fun. Meredith and Jack's banter was EVERYTHING. While their love story itself took a lot of time to develop, it was completely necessary and beautifully done. And once their well built sexual tension and endless strife finally reaches combustion, neither of them will ever be the same again...
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Meredith Avery is a beautiful 28 yr. old woman living in California who married her wealthy husband right out of college. To the outside world she lives this grand life in Beverly Hills where she has everything she could ever want. Her reality is a much different story. One evening Meredith decides her marriage is over, and she leaves in the middle of the night with literally just the clothes on her back. She boards a plane to Texas hoping her sister will give her some much needed comfort and understanding. Instead all she finds is an impossible, rude, inconsiderate man named Jack McKnight.
Meredith’s sister is on vacation, so she sends Meredith to the Blue Stone Ranch where she works for the owner. Unfortunately he already seems to have formed his opinions of her, and they’ve started out on the wrong foot. Meredith is alone, out of money, and in desperate need of a place to live and work. She just wants a chance to prove herself, but Jack clearly already judged her & thinks the worst of her from the start.
Jack thinks if he makes things hard on Meredith she’ll go running back home. He’s decided she’s an entitled, spoiled princess who isn’t cut out for his ranch. If he’s patient he will soon be rid of her, and his favor to her sister will be fulfilled.
Meredith is taking control of her life. She’s never stood on her own two feet. She wants to leave her old life behind and have a fresh start. She’s going to pave her own way for her future, and even though Cedar Creek is completely different from her life in California, she starts to feel at home in this small town.
Meredith & Jack are like oil and water, and clash at every turn, but the more time they spend together the more aware they become of one another. Meredith wishes Jack wasn’t so attractive. He’s the manliest thing she’s ever seen, and soon she develops a crush and can’t help desperately craving her boss. Over time they become more friendly and she goes from not being able to stand him, to having delicious cowboy fantasies about the sexy, arrogant devil. The closed off Jack who never lets anyone too close finds himself blindsided by his feelings for Meredith.
I loved everything about this book from the hilarious banter to the red hot chemistry. I also adored Alfred and Edith! This was a fabulous story that kept me captivated from start to finish. I was instantly into this arrogant devil and couldn’t put this book down!
Over time they become more friendly and she goes from not being able to stand him, to having delicious cowboy fantasies about the sexy, arrogant devil. The closed off Jack who never lets anyone too close finds himself blindsided by his feelings for Meredith.
I loved everything about this book from the hilarious banter to the red hot chemistry. I also adored Alfred and Edith! This was a fabulous story that kept me captivated from start to finish. I was instantly into this arrogant devil and couldn’t put this book down!
Filled with a delicious combination of witty charm and ambivalence, Arrogant Devil thrilled from the first page. With a delicacy only skilled writers have, Grey balanced their every exchange with perfect amounts of unwanted lust and volatility. Using the dynamic of a broody cowboy placed opposite a (seemingly) spoiled city girl only heightened this effect and brought forth a poignant and evocative romantic comedy.
Grey’s heroines tend to have a stark strength to them—along with inner fire and resiliency—and Meredith personified that very characteristic. Grey’s masterful writing captured a woman’s innate strength through her naivete, and shone a light on her monumental growth while never demeaning what brought her there. Her perspective became mine, and I couldn’t help but feel a fire in my gut for every ounce of bravery and fortitude she carried within her—mostly how she used it to take charge of her life. The lustful hatred between her and Jack was rich and savory; building in a natural flair that felt organic and fiery. Their heated battles of defiance and witty retorts were sharp and fun, allowing a wonderfully hilarious brevity among all of the great sexual tension. Slow burns are hard to earn, but there was no doubt this one was very well-earned.
Having read and loved all of Rachel’s prior books, this story set itself above the rest and officially earned itself the rank of being her best work yet. When every element of a story plays perfectly in-tune there’s this feeling of pure elation at getting to read something so magnificent, and I felt that early on in Arrogant Devil. The fluidity of every humorous moment weaving into the softer, gentler moments was effortless in construction, and I fell so very hard for the characters and their love story.
Meredith decides to leave her overbearing, abusive husband. And she does. She does it by walking out of the house with just the clothes on her back, the little money in her pocket and not much of a plan. She decides to seek help in Cedar Creek, Texas with her half sister, Helen. Unfortunately, Helen is traveling in Europe for a couple of months and her house is being renovated. So Helen sets Meredith up with a job with her boss, Jack, on the Blue Stone Ranch. Jack is without his manager and his housekeeper quit, even so, he is not looking forward to helping out Meredith.
What follows is a humorous, swoon-worthy, touching story of two people who go from distain to love. Meredith, a young woman who went from her parent's house to a cushy yet very unhappy married home, finds that she has much more to her and her inner strength than she ever thought possible. She rises to every challenge (even as she dreads it) fabulously. Jack is a man who has been too long (and started too young) at the helm of everything. His has become a prickly, sour man who needs someone to remind him that all work and no play makes Jack a dull (and difficult) boy.
Ms. Grey's story wavers between laugh out loud moments with Alfred the very friendly dog, Meredith's inner thoughts about cleaning toilets and living with mice, and grandma Edith's machinations and "awww" moments between Jack and Meredith as they open up with each other about how life brought them together on Blue Stone. This is a slow burn romance where the "life" of the story is definitely the journey versus the peak of heat.
This is the perfect romance story in every sense of the word. Dashing but damaged hero, damsel in distress but spitfire heroine and a lovable dog. You cannot go wrong with this one.
Now that’s a sweet cowboy romance! This book was written with such poise and descriptive elegance that I am jonesing for a trip to Blue Stone Ranch and find myself utterly devastated that it doesn’t actually exist. I think I fell for the scenery before I clicked with the characters, something pretty wonderful and unique.
The truth is, I loved the colorful assortment of characters. Jack is moody and typically pretty snappy and stand-offish and Meredith is constantly holding herself back or flying off the handle but they truly work together. The chemistry is there and it’s a wonderful slow burn throughout the story. Perhaps the best part of the book, however, is the crazy Grandma and the town full of wacky southern charm and hilarious characters. I would move there if I could, I’d coast into town and demand a place among this cast of misfits.
There were aspects of this story that drove me crazy, the treatment of our leading lady being one of them. I was having a very hard time wrapping my head around the fact that everyone could be so frigid and harsh to Meredith. She had suffered enough and she bore enough emotional welts to last a lifetime, the last thing she needed was to be constantly judged and ridiculed. If I’m being honest, I doubt I would have been half as forgiving as she was in the end. Putting that aside, her growth as a character was beautiful and amazing to watch. She really flourished after leaving behind a cushy life.
This book has a very sweet storyline, it will have you giggling and blushing and totally smitten with everything the author throws your way. I would definitely recommend this one for lovers of RS Grey and to anyone who loves a good rom-com!
I absolutely adore RS Grey’s books, but, if I’m being honest, her last couple of releases didn’t hit the mark for me. Nothing had changed. Her writing was still great. I was getting all the fun and sweet with a dash of steam. I felt like something was wrong with me. My reader heart was broken, but Arrogant Devil brought me back. This book had me falling in love with RS Grey all over again.
Jack is my favorite kind of hero. He is arrogant jerk with a heart of cold. Even when he was being a belligerent, he still couldn’t help himself when it came to Meredith. He had to help her, even if he made her life incredibly difficult. His physical description makes him incredibly alluring, and with every sneak peek inside his heart, I just fell for him even more.
Meredith is quite possibly my favorite RS Grey heroine. I love that she does it on her own. With some grit and unwillingness to admit defeat, she crafts a new life for herself. She is incredibly independent, and I reveled in her journey to self discovery.
This two are utterly fantastic. Their chemistry is phenomenal, and we get to watch them go from antagonists, to friends, to lovers. The journey is so much fun to watch, and although, it is a slow burnC the pay off is more than worth it. With most romantic comedies, there isn’t huge, angsty conflicts, but Grey gives a real and authentic conflict, and I like how the resolution is live developed.
It is official. I want move to Cedar Creek. I want to visit the ranch, live a Texas sized life with this whole cast of characters. I need my Arrogant Devil to become my person, because this is the stuff that romances are made of.
In Arrogant Devil, R.S. Grey delivered a story with an amazing banter, entertaining as you might guess but also dealing with some serious issues, giving a great balance to the story. (And I wasn’t really expected this actually)
Meredith and Jack, oil and water, who might have found their match. The chemistry was smoking hot but instead of turning into « love », let’s just say it turned into more than hate and resentment providing an entertaining banter and more than great back and forth.
Meredith escaped from a life she couldn’t control anymore and going far away from home might be a great idea but she met the arrogant devil and all bets were off. She was strong beside her delicate features, people always judged her by her looks and her lifestyle and as the story unfold proved everyone wrong.
Jack… what an arrogant devil that one, judgemental about Meredith without giving her a chance. Too busy to get involved in a relationship, a lonely and sexy wolf who didn’t give a damn about what people might think about him.
The rich girl who seemed to be spoiled was definitely not, and Jack is gonna learn the hard way. Put two stubborn people on the same place who shared a powerful chemistry, you know that spark would fly. From the first moment, it’s been a war, to see who could hold on the longest. They just made me grin so hard.
A slow burn romance I enjoyed to read, a delightful side of texas served with a strong hint of southern charm and sassiness, people with big hearts, enjoying being involved in everyone business but always with compassion and caring, like a big family.
**received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Once again R.S. Grey delivers a romantic comedy that is on par. She does as amazing job introducing two characters who are nothing alike but will end up being exactly what one another needs. Meredith and Jack’s banter will have you waiting for more interactions between them. And Edith will have you laughing with her determination and her honest truth. And when the sparks really begin to fly between Meredith and Jack you will on edge waiting to see what happens next. Grab a chair and settle down at the Blue Stone Ranch, it’s going to be a wild ride.
Meredith has always done what is expected of her. She did what her parents wanted and she always did what her husband wanted. But after years of being a puppet she has finally decided to take matters into her own hands and leave. What she doesn’t plan is a place to go, or a job. And when her sister isn’t home she is stuck with her sister’s employer.
Jack knows that Meredith isn’t cut out to work on a ranch. He gives her a day, maybe two before she goes back to her rich husband and forgets everything. But he underestimates Meredith’s drive and determination. Soon she is becoming a staple in his life that he didn’t know he was missing, but he still is waiting for her to leave at the drop of a hat.
Meredith wants to succeed and doesn’t want to let anyone down especially Jack, but is she really ready to fight her own battles? And is Jack ready to let her in his life? Or will they always be waiting for the other one to disappoint them?
Arrogant Devil is a slow burning romance and the sexual tension is just simmering under the surface. The slow build, of their friendship and relationship was authentic and organic.
"It's my last tie to the life I'm trying to leave behind, the last vestige of a man who for five years covered me with shiny things while trying his da*mdest to dull my sparkle."
Meredith is a smart hard working woman who has been underestimated and judged by those around her. She was thought to be just a trophy wife, and to see her grow and how determined she was warmed heart! I felt like the odds were stacked against her from the beginning.
Oh sweet misunderstood, Jack. This man. He was scared and didn't even know it. Everyone walked around on eggshells because he was... well. An Arrogant Devil. He was harsh and at times jealous without realizing it and I freaking loved it. I LOVE seeing men brought to their knees with love for a woman.
For every time my heart broke or swooned for Jack his grandmother, Edith had me giggling or smiling with pride. You see, I'm a Texan, and when Edith brought up the taunt, "Come and Take It." I was beaming with pride! I know that line may not resonate with every reader, but dang it. I'm from Texas and this makes me so proud!
Arrogant Devil the perfect standalone slow burning romantic comedy. It's funny without being over the top. It's slow burning with just the right amount of sexual tension. Throw in a crazy ex and you have the perfection that is Arrogant Devil!
I have been searching for the perfect Enemy to Lovers book for years. I’ve read hundreds. And I have to say, R.S GREY HAS DONE IT. Literally Jack and Meredith start out as complete enemies. Pure hatred ? And the progression is so natural fun and kept me so on edge!! Every book I’ve read I’ve always had sections of the book where my eyes roll back in my head at the cheese, or I get bored, or something is un realistic and I can 100% honestly say THERE WERE NONE OF THOSE MOMENTS IN ARROGANT DEVIL. None. Meredith was relatable, funny, strong, and complex. Jack stubborn, distant, serious(ly hot), hard working and dedicated. These characters had layers to peel back, more to discover at every chapter. Unlike characters where you feel you know everything about them on page one. The backgrounds and stories of these characters seriously spoke to me. I never once was bored and I loved EVERY MINUTE. This book had everything! Laugh out loud real life moments, Serious “awwwwwww” moments, Hard to read painful moments, make me cry moments, like literally everything. R.S Grey has a talent for eloquently drafting real emotions into her novels. I felt the pure determination from Meredith, and the frustration of these characters around each other. I felt the love and the lust, and the humiliation and anger. Okay I’ll wrap it up, but seriously, BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD. Every page turn will have you on the edge of your seat, and every scene leaving you clambering for more! There is honestly no way you will regret purchasing this book!! DO IT. Come thank me later ??
