Amazing story! Very well written and so emotional. I loved this version. The one on wattpad was good but this version made me feel like I was reading the book for the first time. Anna is a very talented writer and sweet person. I will buy every book she publishes.

The beginning started out as a very sweet romance but you have a pair of soul mates that keep secrets from each other and one is spying on the other. I was waiting for the action scenes and I was 50 percent into the story and still no action , I was disappointed. The pace is very slow , I haven't finished the book and I don't intend to . I certainly won't be read anymore from this author.

The concepts and ideas kept me reading but I found myself skimming a lot. The writing and story do have a lot of promise, but I felt the characters fell flat for me. Anna is supposed to be this kick ass hunter yet she shows very little of that. We pretty much have to take it for granted because outside of a single action scene, we see none of that. Simply having a weapons arsenal and wearing swords doesn't make you kick ass.

I found Shane's character to be pushy (kept pushing subjects when even Anna told him to stop.), demanding (asking this woman who he'd just met to reveal all to him), disrespectful of her boundaries (she asked him to stop touching her because she couldn't think clearly and instead of respecting that, he used it against her), sneaky, and well...his stalker behavior.

I know we live in a Shades of Grey era where folks think abuse is romantic, so in comparison Shane is an absolute gem. However, I'd be running the other way if I had a man literally stalk me. And the rest? It's all red flags for abuse.

I seriously don't understand how this book has good reviews. It was the ultimate/epitome of an "insta-attraction" type relationship (not so much love but they were super attracted to one another). AND THEN everything MOVED SO FREAKING FAST!!!! I kept having to ask myself "is this for real? am i reading this right?" Possible spoilers: I kid you not within the first 30 pages they were getting it on and his attitude was seriously alarming-- like look, I get she's your "mate" but he was asking her to move in with him THE SECOND/THIRD DAY THEY MET!! like seriously what in the world.... His excuse was something along the lines of "well you wouldn't have to pay for a motel while you're visiting"- ok time to run alert no matter how attracted you are to him. I couldn't even finish it because it was so painful to get through. The only reason I decided to read this was because I wanted to read the second installment, which I don't think I will do because if it is anything like this one I won't be able to get through the first few pages.

Overall the premise of the book is good, but that is where my love for it ends. I am an avid paranormal romance reader, and this one fell short in that department. As others have said this book is 100 pages or more too long. It almost feels like each chapter is an episode in a tv series where we have to have back story every time. We get Anna is happy she found Shane, but sad she lost her family and her brother hasn't woken up. I agree with others that this book feels like it was written by a 6-grader. Too much of repeating sentences. And could you please come up with a better pet name than "honey". Every character uses it. So boring. All I can say is I'm glad I got this for free. Don't waste your money.

To the author - I think it would do you good to go back and revise this book. Cut the all the repetitive dialogue. And get to the point faster.

Okay so you know the saying that goes if something is too good to be true then it probably isn't? In this case? Please believe it! Even if I write all day I won't have nearly as many exclamation points as this book had. Anyways normally before I buy any book I always go through the reviews and I usually prefere the lowest reviews because I usually find them to be more honest than those who are eager to throw an author a 5 star here is where I went wrong I saw a good deal and jumped on it I didn't read the low reviews and boy am I regretting. This book is bad I mean at 15% I was ready to give up. The main characters are void of character Ms Santos, at 23 years old I was and acted like an adult! This girl was way too childish the plot was lacking in imagination , it felt like the author just kept making it up every other chapter as she went along. Suddenly there's a king, then suddenly he is an alpha, one minute hybrids can't have soul mates just because that's how it is, the next minute oh yes they can that was just vampires saying that. Another she is strong and independent (Anna ) but the next she is a basket of walking , crying, whining contradiction. I was even willing to overlook the whole fake fainting in the first chapter and the insta love but turns out I was once again proven correct. It is difficult to make a believable connection between two absolute stranger in a few hours! It takes immense talent to pull that off. This book was terrible, cheesy, cliché and over predictable with a weak characters and no character development unless you want to count hot sexy ore tty blue eyes and whatever as character development. What a waste of money

Where do I start with this one? Formalities first. This book is a standalone, but it is the beginning of a series you totally want to keep on reading if you started this one. It has a Happily Ever After, but you really want to know how the rest of the characters is going to end up, so make sure you get the next one in the series as soon as it is published.
I really liked the writing style. It was good and flowed through the book without ever losing track of what is important. It sometimes switches the location/characters between the chapters, but that’s not disturbing at all, since the author manages to portray every character as if he/she speaks with a different voice, so you can be sure you are going to notice the changes as soon as they occur.
The plot itself is great. I was a huge Twilight fan when it was published and some people compare this one to twilight. I have to beg to differ, since this is not a love story. Well, there is love and sexual intercourse, but overall there is a quest that drives the characters to do the things they do. I can’t really understand how someone would compare this book to Twilight, since nearly everything is different, well despite the vampires, but only because there are vampires it doesn’t mean this is Twilight.
I really really liked this book and immediately wanted the second one to see how everything that was teased on plays out in the end, but unfortunately it seems I have to wait a bit longer for this one to be published. However this is a total recommendation for everyone who likes a good paranormal read that goes a bit deeper than just finding your soulmate kind of stuff.

It started out great and then turned into sub-par writing. It's frustrating when characters suddenly do stupid things just to further the story. How about not insulting the audience with this type of writing just to move the story along or prolong it to a series.

This story was different than other books that I have read, in a good way for the most part. I was really excited to read the book from the blurb. Annabel is a hunter and is undercover trying to find a pureblood vampire to save her brother. Shane is the sheriff in the town. Annabel and Shane meet her first night in town and once Shane gets a whiff of her, he knows that she is his mate. Shane believes that she is human so as he pursues her hard he doesn't tell her that she is his mate or that he is a werewolf. Annabel doesn't automatically know that he is her mate because she is a hybrid but she is drawn to him like no other. She doesn't want him to be sad or upset, especially with her and doesn't want to be away from him either. Since she doesn't have the automatic knowledge for the why of this, it is confusing for her. She decides to go ahead and continue seeing Shane because she can't seem to not and so changes her approach to her assignment.
This story has a bunch of twists and turns that are not expected that keeps you guessing what is going to happen next. The information is given in pieces which makes it harder to figure it out. The story line is very good and written very well. The story moves smoothly and doesn't ever feel slow. It moves very well and will definitely keep your attention through the entire story. I really enjoyed the characters. They were written really well and the secondary characters were as well. I loved how the next part of the story is being blended into this one. It is done very well and this story doesn't leave you in a cliffhanger but it definitely leaves you wanting more. I can't wait for the next story!! I am very excited to see whose story we get next and what is going to happen with this group of people.

Soul Mate started off really great! You take an absolutely beautiful supposedly human girl who is really a hybrid and into that mix, you add a really hot man that turns out to be both the town sheriff and a werewolf. You add the fact that she is actually his mate and you have a delightfully sexy story!! Finding out that she is looking for revenge for the vampire that killed her parents and put her brother into a coma, makes this a truly suspense filled and sexy read.

I found this so very hard to put down for the night. It kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen next!! The characters were believable, the dangers were very realistic and the suspense in this story kept me right on the edge of my seat!! There were a few times where I worried about how the characters would get out of the situation that they were in and was very pleasantly surprised that my favorites and survived, again!!

At one point, the author introduced some characters that were not in the main story. It did make sense after I realized who they were. I have a feeling that those characters will be more at the forefront in succeeding stories, as they are all part of the main stories background.

Either way, this is an excellent story and I can’t wait to read more of her works!!

Annabel is a bad-ass hybrid hunter, seeking revenge from the vampire who killed her parents and put her brother in a coma. Arriving in a new town with an undercover identity to protect and the mission to find a pureblood vampire to save her brother’s life, the last thing Annabel needs is to fall in love with the sexy, persistent werewolf who thinks she’s a helpless human in need of a knight in shining armor.

Shane is a dominant werewolf who also happens to be the local sheriff. He has almost lost hope of finding his better half. So when his beautiful soul-mate shows up and rogue vampires try to kill her, he does what any smart wolf would do: he saves her and takes her home, hoping to convince her that they belong together.

When sparks fly between them, Annabel has to decide if she tells him who she really is or runs the other way to protect her secrets.

I felt for Annabel from the first page. Ms. Santo puts such feeling into her characters that you hurt when they do. She makes Annabel likable yet mysterious and confusing yet intriguing as well.
Shane is the typical alpha werewolf living out his lonely existence waiting on his intended soulmate to fall in his lap. When she does, he isn’t surprised she isn’t a typical werewolf. She’s a hybrid shifter. The misunderstood and hated of the shifter breeds.
The reader spends a third of this book in a daze of hot steamy sex; a third had the reader watching Annabel work to rectify the past and the remaining third watching Shane fawn all over Annabel. It makes for an interesting yet sometimes irritatingly sweet.

Minor Spoilers/Nothing that wasn't obvious though.

I had mixed feelings about this one. I love books that the Hero is actually in love with the Heroine and doesn't play games with her. That was a huge bonus in this book.
I was getting to the point that I was about to stop reading because the beginning was so repetitive that I couldn't read the same reworded thing about not getting involved one more time. Then it started to actually get good and I was falling in love with not only the main characters but the supporting as well. The entire middle was fantastic, and then it took a turn again and I was getting beyond irritated with the flaky way she didn't want to get married even after fully marking each other. Totally threw off my happiness with the ending.

It was a good book and I'm not sorry I finished it because I'm very glad to have read the middle and even the end once she stopped being stupid. Just get past the first bit and you're golden.

This is an absolute must read. Both male and female characters are strong willed and each has an agenda. Shane wants Annabel to know she is his mate and Annabel is hunting the vampire that killed her family and trying to find a full blooded vampire whose blood is the only thing that will save her comatose brother. Neither one of them has been totally honest with each other but the spiritual draw between them is just to strong for either to resist. Read this book and experience their journey to finding answers and true love, you won't be disappointed.

It was an excellent book that kept me engaged and interested thru out the whole storyline. The book fantastic in the action scenes and the romance was spicy but not overdone. The storyline was well connected to the following story. I was impressed and enthusiastic about the follow-up which was equally great. Overall a great story rich in development. Can't wait for the next one.

Soul Mate is anamazing story that hooked me from the very beginning. A strongly written story by Anna Santos that packs a punch. It is definitely not for the faint of heart. Not to mention all the sexual tension you feel from characters before things start to get going.
I received this book free from Anna Santos for a unbiased and honest review. My thoughts are buy this book if you like dark paranormal reads as I do. I have given her 5 stars and would be more but the store won't let me.

In an amazing wonderful way. I was so happily trapped in Annabelle's world that I am sad to reach the end of book even though I know there are more books to come. Even the little break of clicking on the link to purchase the next book it too long. I highly recommend this book and the remaining books of the series even before I have had the privilege to read them.
Happy reading!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and couldn't wait to finish all the chapters at once. This was one dark, twisted and romantic ride. But then again, that's how I like them. I'm a huge fan of werewolf stories and this one has everything in it. Dark creatures of night, hybrids, wolfs. In the world were vampires and werewolves are enemies hybrids are chased out and killed.
Anna Santos is a great writer who demonstrates and portraits each character with its flows and ups and downs. You won't be able to put the book down as you start reading it.
Soul Mate is insanely amazing story that hooked me up from the very beginning.A strongly written story that packs a punch. It's intense and gritty, it's definitely not for the faint of heart. Not to mention all the sexual tension you'll feel from characters before things start to get heated up.
I am sure You won't regret paying for it.

i purchased the boxed set but feel so strongly about each book I feel they deserve their own review. Soul-Mate is that good feeling love story that doesnt need all the extra fluff to make you fulfilled! I was drawn in from the the first page. Anna is such a kick-ass character & Shane is a perfect mate - protective, loving, attentive, gorgeous - the kind of guy every woman wants! They find out they are soul mates right away & Shane sweeps Anna off her feet. However, she has secrets from Shane she's afraid to share. & he has his secrets as well. Can they overcome these obstacles, can they trust each other & share their secrets in time?? This is a must read for every hopeless romantic out there & for everyone who loves an amazing supernatural story!!

Beginning of this story, I actually thought I had already read this book. Years ago, I was introduced to Christine Feehan and last year I read Melissa Haag. I guess the similarities are obvious. There were a few obstacles for our Fated Soul-Mates, but you know they will get their happy ending. Having said that, I still had fun reading this story. Just take it for the genre it is, and you can enjoy it too. While this is s beginning of a series, it can definitely be a stand alone novel. I did read the beginning of next in series provided at the end of the book. It starts off a bit stronger than Book 1. I always give 4 stars if I read a book with only stopping to prepare food.

My first read from this author. I was captivated by this story. It has romance, history, mystery, suspense, jealousy, stubborness, and more importantly...love. To whats ends would one go to protect a loved one? Shane and Anna proved that throughout this story, even at the risk of their own happiness and lonliness. I look forward to reading the other books from this series.

I liked the Supernatural town of purebred and hybrid vampires, shifters, and witches. I liked the idea of the Hero and Heroine both being powerful in their own right. The basic plotline was ok.

However, the writing style needs refinement, and the book requires further editing. I felt like I'd missed a prior book, because there was a great deal of history mentioned in the Hero and Heroine's past lives that needed more fleshing out.

Adult read due to sexual content. I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series, but it was an OK read.

Love it - great paranormal love story. Annabelle is a hybrid, part feline part vampire on a mission to find a pure breed vampire to save her comatose brother. She posses as a helpless human when she encounters hot werewolf sheriff, Shane. Sparks fly in the air and I love their chemistry. Things become hot between them but its the trust that builds and the true feelings that help both to find what they are looking for. And in the process they save each other.

Oh no! Another bad ass heroine girl! But this book is better than most. I swear that Katniss from HG has a lot to answer for! But this is okay. I need to read book two now as the story, while not original, is character driven and I love the mix of supernatural beings on offer here. If you love supernatural books, look no further. It's shamelessly unoriginal, but that doesn't really matter. It's enjoyable to the nth degree. I loved it and you will too.

Enjoyed the story line of this book. It takes Shane a long time to convince Anna that he is her soul mate. She had always been told that hybrids did not have a soul mate. She finally realizes what Shane is saying is true and then she finally fights for her own happiness. Had a few good surprises that I hadn't anticipated. I will read more books by this author.

Bad ass and hybrid hunter. Two very awesome descriptions. I loved Soul-Mate more than I thought I would and will definitely read this again. I just loved Shane and enjoyed Annabel meeting him. I loved every aspect of this book and can not wait to read the next in this series.

This paranormal romance between a half breed vampire and a werewolf has a lot to offer; a sweet and steamy beginnining, intriguing back stories, complex characters and an action packed ending. I was not sure what to expect initially, but after reading, highly recommend reading this book.

Good story, interesting romance. I am conflicted by the character Anna who at first read comes off as a strong independent woman but then seems to turn into a whiny 23 year old who only wants her way. Shane seemed to have turned into a wuss, not a 200 year old ware leader. IDK this one seemed off on many levels with the characters but the overall story line was pretty good. Happy reading.

Wonderful read. It has a little bit of everything. Romance, hot love scenes, a bad guy, saucy female characters. Annabel is described as being a sort of superhero assassin. I expected to see more of that in the book. So it was a little bit of a let down in that regard.

Loved Annabel and Shane's story. I loved the romance and the action. There is nothing better than reading a book that makes you lose track of time, it is so good. I truly enjoy science fiction and fantasy stories. It's a way to delve into a different world for a moment. Soul-Mate did not do that for me. I really tried to enjoy it but the writing kept getting in the way. The idea is great but with a constant dull narrative, boring dialogue and the main character repeating herself so much it was pretty impossible to get into this book. Soul-Mate was not for me.

at that pace, however once we got through that section, the story line leaped forward and started to tell another story and involved all the characters we had just met.
By the end of the first book, I was anticipating book 2!
Glad its waiting for me to read.
You will e joy this series once you get past the slower parts.

Paranormal crazy story! Anna is a hybrid and a kick butt one at that! She's on a journey to find a cure for her brother! But what she finds is so much more then a cure for her brother! She finds sea couple of things that she never thought she would ever have!
Danger from the one thing that killed her parents lurks around, mates are bound to be united and blood is shed!
A great read!

It reads like someone talking out loud, even when it's supposed to be internal thoughts. It would have benefited from a third person narrator. It felt like both main characters were teenagers or younger sometimes.
