WOW!!!!!! Loved, Loved, Loved this book!!! I did not want the book to come to an end. Bought the book and was pleasantly surprised. L. Wilder has written an easy to read, sexy novel that every book lover will enjoy! Looking forward to her next novel.

Cliff-hanger. Nothing in the description stated it was a stand-alone or a cliff-hanger.

Authors, when describing your stories, please let readers know it is a cliff-hanger.

No interest in reading cliff-hangers.
Remember this my personal opinion on cliff-hangers and does not reflect on the author.

Bishop, president of the Devil Chasers MC meets Tessa, his son’s schoolteacher. He’s trying to get out of the gun running business, she’s trying to adjust to a new town with her two kids. And, of course, romance happens.

The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between
-Easy on the wallet: Kindle Unlimited book: so free with subscription or 99 pennies to buy it.

-It’s your gentler, kinder type of MC romance: This isn’t a train wreck kind of MC romance, the kind that’s so horrible and dramatic that you can’t stop looking at it. About the most outrageous thing is the gun running, but even that feels fairly tame, and the club is trying to get out of that business. There’s no WTF-ery going on, and there’s no OTT melodramatics. The writing is clear, and the characters’ motivations are straightforward and understandable - this is a world where the bikers may be engaged in some illegal activities, but the story’s more about the camaraderie than being criminals.

-Needed a little something more: There was a lack of a spark in the writing. It was a bit stilted and perfunctory, and it lacked a bit of descriptiveness that would have enlivened the story. As it was, I wasn’t drawn into the romance because I didn’t feel the chemistry between Bishop and Tessa. The words were there, but I wasn’t feeling the emotion between them. It seemed to go from an attraction to HEA without a real emotional buildup.

The Bottom Line
It was...ok. I wasn’t blown away, but I’ll say I liked the secondary characters enough that I’d give the series another go, see if it gets better.

This book needed to marinate and cook a little longer. Neither story nor the characters were developed enough. The most interesting character was a secondary character-the female lead character's best friend, Courtney. She was an absolute hoot, but neither lead character had any depth. There was a plot twist at the end, but overall the story and characters were one dimensional. I may read the book about Courtney and Bobby, but I am uncertain after struggling to finish this one.

This story was good, but the writing needs depth.

I wish I could give 3.5 stars, because it was a good storyline and I liked the characters. The author needs to go deeper into the characters and create more tension to get to the 4 star level.

Each scene starts off well, but L Wilder just seems to spit it out and chop off the action, without developing the characters feelings or filling out the backstory. This is newspaper reporting not novel writing. Even the tense moments feel flat.

I still enjoyed the book because of my vivid imagination and my ability to read between the lines, however it is not good enough to development my following.

I might give the author one more chance. Get some beta readers who are willing to hurt your feelings and have extensive reading experience in the classics. That will help you development real writing skill. If you update the book, I would read it again and edit my review, because the storyline is worth it.

Don't give and expect less just because it is self published or just romance. That is an insult to voracious readers like me and slashes your bread and butter.

3 stars. I pretty much enjoyed the story line--good girl teacher, meets up with bad boy biker. It had a decent amount of action/suspense, and the sex scenes were spicy, but a slightly predictable. I definitely think this is one of those book that would have benefited if it could have been longer. Characters were good, but I felt there was not enough development for me to explain their actions--especially the h and her immediate reactions to the H. Decent romance, but not much buildup. I did like the H, and the kids were a nice touch. Secondary characters were good, except I did not care for the h's friend--usually I love the snarky sidekick, but I just found her annoying most of the time. Writing style was ok, but I couldn't get pulled into to story as much as I like--again, I think it would benefit from being longer. Good set up for next book in series.

I chose this series because I have heard good things about it in Facebook groups. I have to say, it was a let down for me. It just didn't flow right. The dialog is over done yet stilted at times. The storyline isn't bad, just the execution of it. Great potential here though.

The story and romance were pretty good, and the characters were initially interesting. However, I didn't think the book lived up to its potential and the characters remained flat and the dialogue felt overly simple. The best part of the book was the unexpected twist. I think that and the base of the characters/plot suggests this series may get better with time.

Single mom Tessa knows how to read kids, especially since she has two of her own. When one of her students struggles, she calls his dad to come in to discuss. Bishop is the president of Devil Chasers's Motorcycle Club and a single dad, he knows something is up with his son but is not sure how to figure out what it is. Bishop has enough going on with his club and no time to start a relationship but he feels something for Tessa and can't seem to stay away. As his club is under attack he has to find a way to keep Tessa and her kids safe as well, but will all the drama push Tessa away.

I liked this one but thought the courtship was a little off. It was to much acceptance right off the bat. Overall good story, sets the pace for another story which looks to be fantastic.

Just by chance I started reading books with motorcycle clubs. Usually I read paranormal. Now I'm hooked. This author ties the charts c.f. tears in throughout the series. I love the banter with the guys when they are together. She goes for the girls too. Just love the entire series.

This is a first reading of this author. Really liked the book. I'm just starting to read MC romance books and I think I'm going to like them a lot. I really liked Bishop and Tessa. Their chemistry was really hot. I liked the guys from the MC. Can't wait to read the next book in this series. This was a really good book. Enjoy! I'm on to Book 2.

A little calm from what I normally read involving the MC's but a nice change. Don't get me wrong there still is an Alpha President with a deadly pass but also a school teacher slash possible "Old Lady" material with a pass she didn't know she had about to rip into their lives. Good read.

I thought the plot was good and the characters that we got to know were likable. However, it was elementary writing with too much narration. If it's a first time author, I would say "mice job !", otherwise, I would say to take more time on the next one and try to make it come alive for the readers.

O.k. read more like a Harlequin had potential but just fell short. Not like the nitty-gritty MC club novels a bit tame. Not at all what I expected but still an good read if you enjoy Harlequin stories..

I would've loved more alpha male from these guys. My idea of mc is all sexy alpha males protecting their women. Bishop does protect but he needs more edge to him since he's the prez. Tessa is soft and sassy which goes with being school teacher.

I liked the concept and the writing was fresh. Characters were very likable and made we want to know more. My main complaint - was that EVERYTHING seemed to be explained at least twice. The author explained things to the reader as they were brought up, then re-explained them from character to character. for example - I think the Sgt at arms position was explained in the prologe - then again in the 1st chapter... then again later on.

I will be reading book 2 :-)

Yes, Hot Biker meets Hot Teacher, but this story is so much more than that! There is an element of realism which enhances the likeability of the two main characters. Both are single parents who have known heartbreak and are caught by surprise over the intensity of this new relationship. The evolution of their connection is handled in a genuine way which doesn’t detract from the steamy factor. There is also plenty of MC action to keep your pulse racing and the introduction of secondary characters will leave you eager to find out whose story will be told in the next book.

I love every book this author puts out. This starts off the series and I really loved everything about Bishop! Ms. Wilder puts a different spin on a biker. These guys are hot sexy and everything a girl could want but they're not like Bikers are usually depicted and that's a great thing.

The chemistry between the two characters is electric.

I was kind of sad when I finished reading! I want more. I find myself hoping the author gives us a novella, showing us just what these characters are up to now!
