Every word of this book is precious! I enjoyed it tremendously. I earmarked just about the entire book for further reference. Peace is, indeed, in each and every step we take, and this book reminds us to honor others, including animals, plants and the earth and universe. Everyone should read it.

Insightful. Profound. Poetically written. The wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh has helped me to see the beautiful garden growing within me and around me.

A must read for those seeking closure to life's "sticky" situations and who wish to have more clarity along their path in life.

I stopped meditating several years ago and "Peace Is Every Step" has eased my return to daily meditation. I can recommend this book to anyone with an interest in meditation. Finding the nearest Buddhist temple to your home is also important. The monk (or monks) are the best way to begin meditation.

a clear and very useful exploration of mindfulness and conscious breathing in everyday life. You do not have to be a Buddhist to benefit from the concepts and to integrate the practices into your daily experiences. Extremely worthwhile and practical while also writing that speaks to the reader's individual spiritual path.

My favorite non-fiction book. The simplest recipe to find calmness and peace within. It changed my life. I first read it in 1998. I recommend it to all my friends and posted it as a book for my book club one month.

I had been looking for books on meditation, and bought "Mindfulness in Plain English", which is also great, by the way. However, I was told that "Peace is Every Step" could be more inspiring, because it wasn't intended to be a kind of manual (the kind that simply says "do this, do that"). Well, it is true. "Peace is Every Step" does not teach meditation the way I wanted, and for that "Mindfulness in Plain English" was perfect. But "Peace is Every Step" was what I needed to get meditation to be part of my whole life, and not only half an hour of my day. In other words, "Mindfulness in Plain English" taught me how to do it. "Peace is Every Step" taught me what to do with it, and taught me meditaton is much more. It made meditation become part of my daily life. Now I understand why I was told it is inpiring.

I've purchased this wonderful little book with a wealth of just common sense information. Don't let the Buddha thing bother you, these are just simple life lessons and teachings. Expressly the Living in the Moment.

This book is very simple and beautiful. I would highly recommend it to beginning Buddhists and those who are new to meditation. Actually, I'd recommend it to everyone. Thich Nhat Hanh gives good suggestions for living and bringing peace to your life and the lives of others through simple mindfulness.

This book is very inspiring and always helps me to return into the present moment.
I found and noted really deep thoughts almost in every chapter of the book.

I would recommend this book for everyone who wish to observe their inner light and outspread this light to other beings.

A short book that shows practical examples how to live with peace in every-day situations, when stuck in the traffic, when seeing a friend, during washing dishes or spending time with your child. Not too much philosophy, just guidelines that can be applied no matter what is your religion or system of beliefs.

I wanted to get to know more about mindfulness since it is a quite popular buzzword these days. This book provided me with a nice introduction to mindfulness interwoven with small stories and anecdotes which usually hit close to the mark.
