The Best of Our Spies

Good reading, slow as a good spy story should be. The part of the husband going off to France, during the war, to look for his missing wife a little un-real. The build up to the end and the ending where good.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are really well developed. The plot is believable. The suspense builds so slowly that you are quite taken by surprise to find that you are not able to put it down for the last 200 pages or so. I am sad it is over but the ending was the......ending. No more to be said. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story. A few surprises and occasionally predictable this book was definitely not one I could easily put down. I particularly enjoyed the straightforward approach to the storyline - no long winded, in-depth, character interrogations, rather the fast-paced storyline captured and held my interest through the many different locations that form the backdrop to the story and the integration with the characters. This book had manly twists and turns. I would recommend this to readers that enjoy lying and intrigue AND where the good guys get justice after they were abused severely. For me I had a hard time putting it down.

If it's historically accurate, there's enough in here to mildly recommend The Best of Our Spies.

We all know the story of the Allies' deception about where the D-Day invasion would occur. This adds a little to that, but it falls way short of how extensive that deception was.

I think the story of the French collusion with the Nazis is the better story here, as well as their all becoming members of the Underground when the invasion occurred.

The relationship between Nathalie and Quinn was very predictable as was the ending.

This is one novel that will leave you haunted ..a must read and the best world war two spy novel i have ever read. This may be the authors first book but it will be hard to top....get it you wont be disappointed...

After reading many WWII fiction books I now have one worthy of a five star rating. This book is filled with intrigue and emotion that boiled in this difficult period. The characters were believable and captured my attention throughout.
