Everyone needs to read this book. I learned a lot, being at the age this disease strikes. I use coconut oil on a regular basis & have not misplaced my keys in months. Memory has improved too. A must read in my opinion by young people that care about their parents.

I would recommend this book to anyone going through Alzheimers or dementia...The MD profession offers very little to help these. We are just starting the protocol. It shines some hope on what the medical world deems a hopeless situation!!! I like it because it is natural.

Story by Dr. Newport is absolutely fascinating. Gave it to a family member who read the book immediately and got a lot of answers from it. Family has been sparingly using coconut oil as Alzheimer's Diagnosis is still being researched.

I purchased this for a relative currently suffering alzheimers.
He is in a veterans facility, the care givers there agreed to give him coconut oil as recommended in the book.
He is given more when his family visits each day but no change is seen. No way to know if the care givers actually give it to him regularly. I would say to try it in more controlled environment.
Happy to see this man is doing better.
I don't know if I could consume this much coconut.

Both my mother and father-in-aw died from alzheimers disease. I found the book to be both amazing and disturbing. I was not surprised to read how difficutl it has been to get this information in the hands of people who are desperate to find any possible way to help the people they love who are suffering from this disease. It's disturbing and disheartening to know that the powerful groups and persons who are in a position to help with and even cure such a devastating disease are in it for themselves and not those they profess to be helping.

This book is well written. She clearly makes the point that not all people will be helped by her solution (coconut oil). However, I am thrilled to say that we are seeing memory improvement with our 89-yr-old mother. It is slow but steady. We did purchase and are using the "Food for Thought" drinks she mentions.

Excellent advice for diabetes and pre-diabetes. Gave this book to three diabetic men who are following the advice and foods to eat and NOT eat. All 3 men have dropped weight, gotten great blood sugar test results, and are feeling so much better. Great insight into up-to-date information about foods to avoid and foods to make sure you eat. Recipes included in the book are wonderful.

This author who is a doctor, found that coconut oil helped her husband substantially when he got Alzheimers. Dr. N is not maintaining that it is a cure, but that more research is needed. I wish the establishment would listen. It always takes them a long time to catch up. Of note, the other reports that in countries that eat lots of coconut there is not much Alzheimers. Interesting

Excellent book, written in a way that anyone can understand. What remains a puzzle is why the Alzheimers Association refuses to acknowledge this treatment,
perhaps Big Pharma might be upset since coconut oil is so inexpensive! It certainly is worth a try with a loved one and it can't hurt!

From personal experience, I know only too well that caring for loved ones who suffer from dementia, can easily lead us to feelings of isolation. Dr. Newport's well crafted book offers a haven of hope in the sea of despair which often engulfs carer and sufferer alike. Her well documented observations are logical and easy to follow which, added to the terrific recipes, offers answers and practical help.

If there is a cure, Dr. Newport is certainly knocking on the door. Read, enjoy and know that you are not alone.

I learned so much by reading this book. There are things that the author wrote about how the brain works and is fed that I did not know. I have already modified my diet and have added coconut to my diet. I was also amazed on how political funding is for research and how drug companies are not interested in simple solutions. I recommend this book to anyone who has a family member or friend with Alzheimer's.

Very interesting and lots of positive stories of improvement in people's lives. I am in my 50's with a strong family history of Alzheimer's and I was convinced by this book to start adding coconut oil into my diet. The book is clear that it doesn't help everyone, but there is no harm eating coconut oil.

Dr. Newport writes thoroughly about her husband's experience and how she has struggled to find support for a supplemental way to treat Alzheimer's. The writing is professional and clear at any level of medical understanding.

A timely book with a hopeful outlook. Offers practical suggestions in support of better nutrition. There is much to discover to the puzzle we call Alzheimer's and this book is a great piece to this complexing disease.

Since getting this book and scanning through it, I see the health conscious community adopting pure coconut oil in their recipes, very, very interesting. And legislation trying to beat this down? back off and let the consumer make the choice.

Have been using the information from the book for my husband, who has Lewy Body Dementia, for about 3 weeks. We have seen improvement in his ability to think, walk and smile. So far so good. What can it hurt, after all coconut is one of God's given foods.

I skipped right to the back chapters as my mother has mid-stage alzheimers and is losing ground. It was pretty technical but as I am a licensed CNA and have studied nutrition and dietetics I was comfortable with the writing. I then went back and started at the beginning, where she relates many interesting stories about her husband and his illness. I found this book very helpful and have ordered and just received the coconut and MCT oil online. I am hoping for as good a result as her husband got but realize everyone is different. Very informative and uplifting for caregivers who are considering alternative therapies for their Alzheimers patients. I am also planning on giving the oils to my friend for a traumatic brain injury memory issue.
