Review:Early in Eating Meat, Foer shares an anecdote of his starving Jewish grandmother, fleeing the Nazis and offered pork by a kind peasant. She is dying of starvation but rejects the pork, explaining, "If nothing matters, there's nothing to save." While Foer loves his grandmother, the story-teller, the life-giver, and the lover of kosher beef and chicken, he uses her quote as a sort of epitaph throughout his book to pave the way for his conversion to vegetarianism, a conversion that separates him fr... Review:Read this cover to cover the day we got it, and the hardest thing was picking a recipe to try first!
The use of miso in many of these recipes to replace salt is brilliant - we had the yellow rice & black beans with broccoli as our main dinner course and the miso added a salty kick that we could feel good about eating. It was shockingly delicious and packed with umami flavor. We also made the stuffed sweet potatoes with balsamic-date glaze, so good! This food doesn't TASTE like you're ... Read more
Review:I first discovered Shane being interviewed on a morning television show in Colorado. I only heard part of his interview, but it was enough to want me to go online to Amazon.com and purchase his book. His book is one of the most informative self-help books I have ever read, and I have read many. The book is an easy read. He gives precise and easy to follow instructions on what ten over-the-counter lifesaving supplements truly work, where to purchase them, their approximate cost, and the recom... Read more
Review:This is the first Audible book that I have listened to.
The performance was very professional and I was quite pleased with both the quality of the recording and the performance.
The information was, in a word, frightening. Who knew that caffeine was so deadly. The argument was well thought out but a little heavy with the scientific terms.
Overall, I was quite pleased with both the content and the performance. Good job. Read more

Review:Good information and follow-through from "The China Study." Some parts are wordy, but the chapters end with a section called "The Bottom Line," which really summed things up well. I had a lot of health questions answered, and this research really rings true to me. I love the 2-week kick-start plan - I needed something exactly laid out to begin my journey! My favorite recipe so far is the sweet potato enchiladas - so delicious! I feel like a whole-food plant-based diet is not only very doable... Read more
Review:This book, although written in the early 20th century contains some of the most important health information ever recorded. Dr. Price was a pioneer in determining the relationship between nutrition and degenerative diseases. It is my opinion that all healthcare practicioners (traditional and alternative) should be required to read this text before graduation. I believe that it is that important to understand the implications of living in an industrialized nation...and of course what can be do... Read more
Review:Love this book and how relevant it is to everyday life. I can't stop talking to my peers about all the relevant and important facts/studies found in this book.
Would have been 5, but I am giving this 3 stars for shipping...It arrived torn up. It's like it was torn out of the packaging and someone taped it back together. Pretty upset since this is the second item I'm having to return in a matter of weeks due to ineffective shipping. Read more
Review:Just an amazing subject that we know very little about, yet shows a lot of promise for medical issues such as obesity, cancers, mental health, etc. Highly recommend this book, not too dry, humorous & informative. Encouraged to read more about this subject. Read more
