Love this book and how relevant it is to everyday life. I can't stop talking to my peers about all the relevant and important facts/studies found in this book.
Would have been 5, but I am giving this 3 stars for shipping...It arrived torn up. It's like it was torn out of the packaging and someone taped it back together. Pretty upset since this is the second item I'm having to return in a matter of weeks due to ineffective shipping.

Moreover, the author alerts the reader to the perils of insufficient sleep not only in adults but in children as well. It left me wondering whether fostering frenetic activity in our children and scheduling their days in a manner inconsistent with adequate sleep is a big problem in our society.

All the reasons for getting 8+ hours of sleep every night. Explains what happens when you do, and what happens when you don't. (Spoiler alert: just turn on the television and listen to our supreme leader who only gets 4 hours sleep every night.)

Well written, well organized and easy to follow. Informative and persuasive. I especially like the buffet style lay out of the book. Already changed my routine to get more sleep every day. Sleep, diet and exercise, the trinity of a healthy life, thank you!

Wonderful read, packed with data about experiments told in the most amusing way. It has so much evidence about the importance of sleep that it even compelled me to stop reading in order to replenish with all the mighty powers of a shut eye.
It's a good read for anyone who wants to learn about sleep, it's benefits and the dangers of not getting enough of it.

This book was fascinating and very readable. More important (to me), it inspired me to get a little more sleep, which has changed my life for the better. I've bought copies for my sister, mother, and husband. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic read. Interested in better sleep and why we sleep, this is a must read. Very happy with this book and that means a lot coming from a Physical Education and Health teacher who reads a lot of health books and is usually rather critical.

This is a very enlightening and science-based discussion of the importance of sleep for our personal and communal health and well-being. I would recommend this to parents, teachers, healthcare workers and those responsible for the education and training of physicians.

This book was extremely eye opening! I had no idea there were so many ill effects to getting too little sleep. Not only have I shifted my focus on getting enough sleep myself, but I encourage all of my clients to rethink their sleep as well. Great book!

Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way: Revised EditionEye opening book. I have already applied some of the suggestions and they really do help. The author explains the science and the studies and makes it interesting and easy to understand. This is an important book. If I was still teaching high school chemistry I would assign it as essential reading. Teens and adults could benefit enormously by learning how their body works sleep wise.

A very interesting, readable, and informative book that stirs up a lot of thought about past personal, family & friend experiences with life and health. There is little in life that is not connected in some fashion to one's sleep quantity and 'quality'.

Given the shortage of stock (now remedied), this is clearly the sleeper hit of 2017! Really interesting analysis of the benefits of sleep, the danger of shortchanging sleep, and ways to reclaim sleep as a social and personal value.
