I am very surprised and grateful to hear these short stories were not written by the real Stephen King. They were the worst short stories I have ever read. They did not make any cohesive sense and there were a number of grammatical and spelling errors, which I had not previously experienced in the real Stephen King books, of which I have read all of or at least 98% of. Please do not sell any more books under the name of Stephen King (my absolute favorite author) if it is not the real Stephen King. There should be a disclaimer for us unsuspecting loyal readers. While I was reading the stories, I had to check the cover, copyright page, etc. to see if they were actually written by Stephen King. This was an awful deception. Stop it!!!!

I have read and loved his works since Carrie came out in paperback and although I am only on the third story, this is his worst ever IMHO. Syntax such as "you miss him, didn't you?', two-dimensional characters, terrible editing and quality control, even errors such as double commas. ,, are so far below the usual King quality that I have to believe these were first draft crapola from the bottom drawer that no editor bothered to even check for mistakes. Mine is the Kindle edition so perhaps the errors did not happen in the print version, but I'll bet the toss-off phrasing such as "The force of my words seemed to have shaken her greying hair." are all still there. I should have looked at the reviews, a lot of Constant Readers seem to agree.

Nonsense from a chump trying to make money from another's hard work. the store needs to pull this junk form their website. This is the Transmorphers of authors!!! Someone with a coincidental name hoping people will accidentally buy his books because he duped them into thinking they are works by the REAL Stephen King. Do NOT buy this book or any of his other junk. Caveat Emptor!

there needs to be an immediate distinguishing of this author from Stephen King, the former English instructor. The rambling sagas of swill by the man who wrote this book are utter trash. the store, there are many who agree with me. I would prefer this person was never published without, at the least, a middle initial. It is obvious that his name is the reason he has sold anything he has written.

I can't believe the store hasn't pulled this criminal's "books" from their catalog. As everyone has previously noted, this is NOT the famously talented & prolific author [the ONE and ONLY] Stephen King. The hack who wrote this stuff has the audacity to have his name OVER the title as tough he earned that privilege! It's unfortunate that there isn't a form of the Screen Actors Guild for Writers that would prevent another author from using the same name as someone admitted to the guild earlier. Michael J Fox had to add a middle initial to his name because there was already a Michael Fox in SAG. If only this sort of protection existed for authors :(

I was fooled into thinking that this was the REAL Stephen King, but I didn't realize that until about three pages in to the book I bought. I thought I was buying an older work by the master that I'd never heard of. Believe me, I knew then, because this wanna-be's writing is just awful.

This stuff is awful. This is Not the REAL STEPHEN KING. This guy continues to dupe people into buying a "book" that is utter nonsense. It isn't even a story, let alone a novel. His "books" are garbage, and this guy is "publishing" this crap under the name of a famous author just to dupe people into buying it. You can't return it, so you are stuck with this crappy "book". The worst part is that the store lets him do it! It should be illegal to do what this guy is doing. Shame on you the store for not blacklisting this guy.

NOT "THE" STEPHEN KING. He should sue the store. I would support him. Selling books with the name spelled identically? If thats not a crime it should be. And who are all the morons who can't tell in several pages what absolute drivel this is? I also see some obvious fake reviews. 5 Star, "King is the master" etc. Yes, King IS the master. But this isn't him. I hope anyone buying this garbage by mistake is hitting the store up for a refund immediately. At best its pathetic. At worst its should be illegal. the store has now gone from selling fake goods to selling faked books? Wow. Time to drop my Prime renewal.

This is NOT the "real" Stephen King who wrote Carrie and 11/22/63. Don't be fooled.
Even if this person's name really is Stephen King, if he/she had any integrity, he/she would use a middle initial.
If you love Stephen King, DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. Otherwise, you'd be giving your money to someone who is probably capitalizing on a name only.

Writing is very juvenile. Words used often are "as if", "seemed". After the first few paragraphs, I was thinking Stephen King?
No author bio. Why? Granted this author is really named Stephen King, fine. If he writes great, I'd be happy to continue reading.

It is disappointing that the store is allowing someone to clearly try to ride the coattails of a well established, hard working author who has earned the reputation these kinds of stories could ruin. He didn't even bother to edit. Just throwing out garbage with a great author's name.

I knew right away something was wrong. The writing was terrible. I couldn't believe our beloved THE Stephen King would put out such crap. I stopped reading after I finally made it through the first awful story and read the reviews. I wish I had done that first. What a waste of my time.

I wish the store would kick off this wanna be hack. This is not "stephen king", writer of "It". This is a copy cat who just happens to have the same name and just happens to write horror/suspense in order to trick people into ordering his crap by mistake, thinking its the 'real' King.
Edit: you know what makes me even angrier? The fake reviews giving this crap 5 stars, all with a short sentence about how they love the one and only Stephen King. What a scam.

Having been required by the store to include his middle initial on the covers of his e-books to distinguish himself from the Stephen King who wrote "The Stand," "Misery," "11/22/63" and the like, this guy has gone the extra mile to try to circumvent the rule, shrinking the initial and putting it against a light-colored background in the hope that you'll be fooled.
Don't be fooled.
Judging by the number of reviews by people who thought they were getting the real article, this guy has probably made a mint rooking people into buying his books by trading on the much-better-known Stephen King's brand. It's up to you not to let him keep doing it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is not the legend from Bangor, Maine. This Stephen King is someone fortunate enough to have his name and who writes in the same genre. Read this if you want to support an up-and-coming new author, but do not buy this thinking it will be the Master of Horror you grew up with.

I don't believe that Stephen King wrote these stories. They are far beneath what he's capable of. I also don't believe that anyone is editing the stories. They are full of spelling errors, punctuation errors, and syntax errors. In short, they're extremely disappointing.

I was duped. With the author's name being STEPHEN KING and a link that takes you to all the "real" Stephen King", I thought this was something I had missed from one of my favorite authors. It is horrid. The writing is ... lame at best and there was apparently no attempt at editing. Definitely not worth reading, and I read a fair amount of green authors who need some ripening.

I mistakenly put this on my wishlist, thinking it was Stephen King. Consequently, my daughter gave it to me for Christmas. So far, I've only read the first story. It was terrible! It was obviously self-published, full of errors. At one point, one of the characters is called Jason, when his name is actually James. It seems to pick up in the middle of something, not giving the reader a clue as to how they got there. I may finish this at some point, but for now I'll put it away. I'll definitely look more closely when I'm picking out books in the future!

This is the first time I've ever been dissatisfied with the store. I would think blatant deception like this would be against the store policy and hurtful to their brand. Oh well, book sucks don't buy it.

Not Stephen King that wrote The Stand, The Shining and every other book we know and love. This guy knowingly uses covers similar to the more popular King to try and sell books. Unfortunately, he's probably made a good living doing it.

This is one of a bunch of extremely poorly written books authored by a person named Stephen King and sold on the store. the store, possibly inadvertently, has lured customers, into buying these "Stephen King" books as real Stephen King books. The angry customer reviews on the store are evidence to that. the store needs to stop linking this "Stephen King's" (even if this is his real name) books to the "real" Stephen King because it is an outright lie!

NOT THE "REAL" STEPHEN KING!! This hack is capitalizing on his name at the expense of people who are looking for great writing by THE Stephen King, author of greats like Carrie, IT, The Stand and many more. If you bought this book, thinking you were getting the "REAL" Stephen King's work, demand a refund!!! the store NEEDS to make it clear that this is NOT the same SK that we all know and love!

This is poorly-written drivel and it is being deceptively marketed.
Stephen King, the author of Carrie, didn't write this. That author probably has a site on the worldwide web that lists everything he's ever written.

I enjoyed the stories in this collection. But I was constantly annoyed by the really poor editing and/or proofreading. Words were misspelled or missing entirely. I corrected all but the punctuation errors in embedded notes, for the benefit of future readers and, I would hope, a competent editor.

the store, It really pisses me off that a company of your stature lacks the ability to filter out this fraud. I should never get targeted marketing that suggests that I buy this illiterate fools written effluence.

Not THE Stephen King but banking off THE Stephen King's Fame! He should fix this within the system, since he is obviously a fan.... or trying to steal the identity of someone who is more talented than he is.

The author's marketing is obviously intentionally deceptive. The person who wrote this book is not the other, more famous, and better Stephen King who wrote such classics as "Carrie" and "The Shining." The Stephen King here -- who is apparently Stephen L. King -- attempts to profit through his name alone.
