Gabe: The Alvarez Security Series

I can switch off between romance types, but was very pleased to come across a sweet, well written story that u can fall into and come out with a sweet smile, and wanting to read the next book in the series. Thank you Maryann.

The first time meeting between Gabe and Jennifer is funny. She's a 5'2" feisty, spirited and loving woman. Gable didn't have a chance not falling in love with her. I hope book 2 tells what happened to the big boss bad guy.

Loved the story, the characters (both young and old). Lots of sex scenes, which I skip over. Maybe some people need that but I'm more into the story. Loved the relationships between the elderly, the social worker, and the hunky men.

The characters were well developed and I liked their personalities. I found the story to be interesting with just the right amount of romance and suspense. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

Absolutely loved this story. Well balanced story of love and devotion and political corruption. Loved reading Gabe and Jennifer's story and can't wait to read the other books in this Alvarez Series. MaryAnn Jordan is now another favorite author of mine.

Gabe: Alvarez Security #1 is a fine romance between Gabe, a security agent, and Jennifer, a social worker. When Jennifer was targeted by a real estate mogul as an obstacle for his "development", Gabe must come to her defense. The meet-cute was excellent, as Gabe literally caught her dumpster-diving at a restaurant where he was doing VIP protection, and turns out all the extra food was going to her little building full of seniors. Gabe was immediately smitten by someone so full of goodness (aww......) and Jennifer started dreaming of the giant with the big hands (aww....) As Gabe get to know Jennifer (and her little brother Ross) they slowly learned that someone is after the building by arranging little attempts of intimidation and harassment. When the mogul got desperate and turned to kidnapping, Gabe must call upon the entire Alvarez security to take down the evildoers.

Gabe had to overcome his fear of letting people down, esp. children due to his experience in Afghanistan, while Jennifer had to finally accept that Gabe was the best thing that ever happened to her, and overcome her inadequacy. Both FMC and MMC had good character arcs. The evil can be explained and was properly motivated, as well as sufficiently creepy. There were more than a few auxiliary characters that could have been trimmed, but they don't detract too much from the story.
