Finally a book where the characters are honest with each other. Well at least they are once they get past their past. Great family dynamics with military and first responder highlights. Realistic and romantic. Great read. Ready for the next installment and hoping for more after that one.

I truly enjoyed this book, but gave it only 4stars. Most authors that I have read give a brief sinopsis of previous books in the series. Having not read the first book in this series I found I was a bit lost at times. Otherwise I did enjoy this book.

Just finished reading the Jake and Dani story. I did enjoy the book, mostly. I did think some of the sex language was raunchy and really unnecessary. And not having read the previous boo, would have liked more of an explanation of prior happenings.
Gabe: The Alvarez Security Series :: Craze (Pierce Securities Book 1) :: Rescuing Rayne (Delta Force Heroes Book 1) :: A Secret Baby Romance (Small Town SEALs Book 1) - SEAL's Bride :: Crossed: (prequel to the Crossed Series)

The story was just ok but the quantity of explicit sexual content was way beyond what I am comfortable with. I skimmed over probably 35-50% of the book because the graphic sex scenes. So if you want literary pornography with minimal plot this is for you!

What’s happenining to this author that she constantly writes the exact same stories, with the exact same plot lines. And only changes the names of the characters? I give up.

This book wasn’t the best, and likely is the worst. I could tell exactly what was going to happen before it happened. The writing was subpar and the development and outline of the story was poorly executed. Wish I had something nice to say about this story.

Read the first couple of pages and deleted it from my kindle. I do not care for stories that
start out right away using vulgar words. I do not care for these kind of books and would
not recommend this if you feel the same way.

This sexy small town romance is the story of Dani and Jake. Dani's had a crush on Jake forever, but the 8 years separating them and the fact that he's her brother's best friend has meant she's spent a long time trying to get him out of her system. But when Jake is finally ready to ante up and show Dani that he's not going to run from his feelings for her anymore, is it too little too late?

I loved this story! Zoe has the knack of creating characters that the reader wants to know about - their hopes, their loves, their dreams and their failures. Though Dani started out with a teenage crush on Jake, it's morphed into something much more adult and finally (finally!) Jake admits to himself that he can't resist her pull anymore. I really liked that Dani was comfortable showing Jake that she wasn't a kid, that their love scenes were between two mature consenting adults. (and yes, those love scenes are steamy!). In any relationship there is the dynamic of family in the background, and with these two, that's a significant part of the story - how it affects them and how they deal with it is part of the attraction of the story for me. There are so many characters to like in this town, shared with us via witty dialogue and friendly camaraderie, with laughter and tears. Pine Harbour is a town everyone should visit. 5 stars for this entertaining and sexy read!

This is the second book in the Pine Harbour series which I love but I have to say Jake and Dani just pushed the love factor even more for me.

Jake has held a deep attraction for Dani ever since she was a seventeen year old high school senior. As he was twenty five at the time he did not act on those feelings especially as she was the little sister of his best friend Rafe. Her brothers are highly protective of her and for Jake to come out and claim her would cause all kinds of problems, so he has kept his love for her secret.

Dani however has always known his secret attraction to her and something nearly happened when she was seventeen when he drove her home from a party. It’s now seven years since and Dani is now a grown woman who has had relationships which Jake has seen come and go and is partly the reason he signed up for a tour of Afghanistan with the army reserves. Dani is now done with all the waiting for the right time and after the tragedy that happens to their friend Lynn, the unspoken is breached but Jake still feels it is not the right time and continues to drag his feet. How would it look to their friends and family to go into a relationship when Lynn’s husband has lost her so tragically? Dani feels he is again putting circumstances and other people first instead of putting her as priority. She is done but she also gets a little help from his sister-in-law Olivia, to put plans into place to push the gorgeous man to take what he has always wanted and Dani is definitely wanting the same thing.

At first Jake did frustrate me and I was wondering why he didn’t man up but then once you get to know him and how this gorgeous man always puts others first instead of his own happiness just makes your heart melt. When the pair finally agree to pursue a relationship it all actions go and the hotness factor took off!

I absolutely loved the chemistry and the believability of both these characters. Yes there was some angst within the storyline but not overly so. It made it so real and true to how a relationship grew. There was no need for any subplot of murders or kidnapping, this was an ultimate love story with lots of sensual steaminess to keep the reader avidly reading. It was another unputdownable read from Ms York and a definite to add to the re-read list.

There are a lot of secondary characters (all hot alpha men!) and the family connections are a huge part of this small town romance series. It is a definite favourite of mine and one I highly recommend. Five amazing stars.

Enchanting, spicy adult romantic read!
Pine Harbour is a small town where families know one another. Like the Foster and Minnelli families. They grew up together. The Fosters have 4 sons and the Minnellis have 3 sons and the youngest, a daughter.
Jake Foster is a construction worker and an army reservist. He's a responsible, smart, hardworking hunk who's been attracted to the Minnellis daughter, Dani, since she was in high school. Her brother, Rafe is his best friend, and Jake has always been an "older brother" to Dani. He was too old for her. Now the timings never right to approach her.
Dani i a 20 year old paramedic (EMT). She's smart, responsable, beautiful and not shy! She's been enamored with Jake for years as well. She's approached Jake about their shared attraction. He doesn't deny it, but won't act on it either. What will it take for Jake to realize the time is now!?
There are other characters and situations in the story, adding to the small town flavor. (This is the second book in a series. I didn't read the previous book yet but had no problem following this book with ease.)
It was a pleasant trip to Pine Harbour! The characters were well developed. good dialog and sexy scenes! I'll be sure to take another trip there soon.
This book was given to me for free for an honest review.
