I am in love with Adriana Trigiani's stories. She writes of strong, independent women - I probably relate! This is the first in the series and I am currently reading Brava Valentine which is equally enjoyable!

This story is very captivating - I love the way it involves family and tradition, and love, and also women's issues relative to business and relationships. I'm very happy that I discovered books by Adriana Trigiani over the past year.

I LOVE FOLLOWING INVOLVED FAMILY NOVELS THAT GO BACK TO THEIR ROOTS. THIS ONE IS ITALIAN AND COMING FROM A FAMILY THAT CAME FROM ITALY I CAN SO RELATE. NO ONE MINDS THEIR OWN BUSINESS. IT WAS FUN TO READ THE FAMILY ADVENTURES.

After reading TheShoemaker's Wife I was intrigued to read more Trigiani books. She doesn't let you down, this book is as descriptively written as Shoemaker's Wife and left me wanting more. Of course, I had to continue the sage with Brava Valentine!

It is a wonderful novel and captivated me, but it takes the author a full page to write a half page of content. I like fast moving action, but this is a stroll in the park on a spring day. I still highly recommend the book, but be prepared for extremely detailed descriptions.

I thought the characters were very real and I could identify with them. I learned a lot about Italian men even though I've been involved intimately with one for thirty years. I did feel that at some points Valentine was being a little selfish though and hurting her boyfriends. My husband is Italian and I'm from Virginia and I have been an Adriana Trigiani fan for years, ever since I read the Big Stone Gap trilogy.

I LOVE Adriana Trigiani's books. Very Valentine was absolutely wonderful. Funny, sad, every emotion possible. I was thrilled that there was a second book to this one (which is just as wonderful) and a 3rd will be released this fall. I found Valentine to be my best friend and loved her family and friends. Great story and love the personal family references (in all her books). Ms. Trigiani is a TREASURE!! Please keep writing!!

I enjoyed this book very much. After finishing my Kindle version, there was a "sneak peek" at her next book. So, Assuming that it would be the 2nd book of her trilogy, I read the first excerpt of Supreme Macaroni Company. Low and behold! It was the third book. Why would the author or publishing company do that! It ruined the 2nd book for me; which I'm reading now. "Brava Valentina". I know that Gianluca and Valentine end up together. Just wondering if anyone else experienced the same Frustration.

I am a native New Yorker, Ms. Trigiani writes from the heart, from her experiences, and therefore, I enjoy her writing. She is in love with my city and it shows in this tale. When she looks at the mighty Hudson River, she sees it as I do. When she is on her roof-top garden and gazes out at the cityscape, she sees what I would see. She lives in Greenwich Village and comes from Queens. I would have loved to live in the Village and grew up in Brooklyn. She has a crazy Italian family, so do I. I do not have her family, but I have friends that have that exact family and I could understand her mother, sisters, dad, and the love and tribulations that follow. I learned a lot about being a cobbler and the tanning industry. And her trip to Italy was unbelievable, probably that is why I gave it only four stars. Too much to swallow in one trip, but hey, it is a novel and anything can happen. My family comes from Naples and the Amalfi coast, so it was nice to revisit. Good stuff, Adriana!

Adriana Trigiani never disappoints. Always looking for a new author whom I love to read. She was recommended to me and I love her books. Sometimes when you read the same author you can almost finish the book before you read it. Not so with her books and her strong family values come through every book she writes.

Written well, subject matter was interesting and informative. I look at how shoes are made now from a different view point. Cute romance written with a lot of humor. This was our bookclub selection chosen because it is a light and entertaining book to read after an emotional heavy book that we read the month before.

I love the book written by Adriana Trigiani. It has a wonderful story about an Italian woman who can't decide whom she loves in this book. It may be her current boyfriend or an Italian guy who she meets.

I love this writer. Her characters are so real. If you were raised in an Italian family you will feel like it is written about your own family! It's hard to put the book down. So happy I have two more to read in the series!

I have loved every book she has written, but couldn't bring myself to finish this one. Dragged on and on and on. I understand what she was trying to accomplish with family history, but enough already.

Very Vakentine is such a great read! I absolutely love the relationship she has with her grandmother. It makes you see grandparents in a whole new light. Valentine's character is someone you root for, who you hope gets everything she dreams of, because she's always there for everyone else!

I especially enjoyed the description of creative process of designing and building the shoe. Great characters and family dynamic. Not to mention mouthwatering food, and the magic of Italy. "Funny one" indeed fun and funny!

My daughter read this book some time ago and liked it, so when I saw it on my Kindle list, I decided to read it. And now, I can't wait to read the second one and am eagerly awaiting the third one of the trilogy to be published (which I think is later this year). Adriana
Trigiani has created a wonderful story about family - their lives, loves, hardships, and triumphs!

I have enjoyed many of Adriana Trigiani's books and Very Valentine has not disappointed me. It is a delightful story that is really holding my interest. If you ever have been to Italy and know any Italian families you will enjoy this book.

This book is lovely! It is a sweeping and detailed portrait if relationships and personal discovery. Sometimes when you're reading, sartorial detail feels heavy or excessive, that's not the case here. Those descriptions are well done, always adding a dimension of the character, building a real sense of the family tradition, or illustrating Valentine's frame of mind. Fabulous

I know that this is not the great american novel but I have mostly enjoyed her books. After not loving the last one or two, I waited for this one ( shoes and NY and Italy? )and enjoyed reading it, found that I read it too fast and hated the end to come. I am so busy that I read to be entertained and this one did exactly that. I didn't discover any moral issues or ideas but I have a wonderful time reading the book. If you want pure entertainment, then rush out to buy this book.

I really enjoyed Very Valentine. The author is funny, write well and describes each character fully.
The story line is cute & predictable ( that's why I gave it a 4) but so true to life. I'm reading Brava Valentine now. I think anyone who enjoys a good book will love this.
