Kelly you definitely kicked this one out of the park! So much emotion and love in one book, Paxton and Steed where meant to be from the beginning, and sweet little Chloe my heart breaks for her. This book is far one of my absolute favorites. Can't wait for the next one.

Good story. Somewhat over the top on perfect families and everything roses. Most well to do families I know are not near this close and caring with one another. Just too perfect in all settings and situations.

SPOILERS Ahead

I was hoping this book would go differently but nope. It's a wall-banger. The H abandoned h because he wasn't ready to be a father and was relieved when heroine "lost the baby". He leaves, encounters OW, knocks her up and decides to man up for this one. Guess he's feeling the paternal instincts for this baby. A decade later he returns home, divorced, with his daughter in tow and runs into the poor h who is his daughter's teacher. The heroine is shocked, hurt, but never stopped loving him, so ensues the predictable romance of nearly every 2nd chance novel. Of little grovel, chaste heroines (because she can never have a healthy, sexual relationship unless it's with the jackass who left her).

Ugh. I just hate these same old theme in second chance romance. Must the heroine be weak and forgiving just because it's been a decade and the hero realizes her worth now or the huge mistake he's made. Can heroine for once, maintain her anger, mistrust, heck even slammed the door in his face. Slugged him in the stomach. Something I don't know. The level of betrayal and devastation she must of felt to learned he went and started a family with someone else but left her in the dust to deal with her own loss. How do you even begin to forgive that. I'm starting to wonder if author can deviate from the normal selfish, unworthy men who barely redeems himself.

****Major Spoiler Alert****

Lost Love is the 2nd book I've read by this author (the 1st was Made for You), and is it dumb luck or what that both books have so many similarities you could probably switch covers and nobody would be the wiser as to what they were reading.
The H/h are together and in love throughout high school. Right before graduation, the h tells H she is pregnant. He panics, ignores her and she miscarries. She screams she never wants to see him again, and being dumb as a bag of rocks, he takes her rant as gospel and he is not seen again for 10 years.
Along the way, as he is supposedly pining away for the h he left behind, he hooks up with a she-devil shrew who threatens to harm herself if he leaves her. He doesn't like the woman but he stays. And not only does he stay but he marries her...because her friends talk him into it! WTH? Who in their right mind would do that? After one month he's ready to bail but uh-oh now she's pregnant. So again he stays...this time for 5 years until SHE leaves HIM!
So he returns home with his little girl to find that the h is his daughter's kindergarten teacher. Due to the circumstances of their breakup, the h is heartbroken that he had a child with someone else because she had never moved on. Yep. Ten long years of celibacy. Why??? Why can't the author give the h a little bit of a life? The H - with his Tarzan mentality - bristles when she tells him she "thought about" doing it with someone else at some point in the last decade, and he actually punches a guy she casually dated. Ugh. This trope is so outdated and ridiculous. I gave up at Chapter 18 (audiobook) and will not be reading this author again.

After his failed marriage Steed returns home to his parents' ranch in Texas. He hated not being able to go home to see his family because of his money-grubbing now ex-wife. When he left ten years ago he left unfinished business behind. The only woman he ever loved. The woman he never forgot.

Paxton loves her job as a kindergarten teacher. When she comes face to face with the love of her life and his daughter she is overwhelmed with contradictory feelings. There is joy of seeing Steed again but also grief and a huge amount of righteous anger. And there is still the lingering threat of her cutting off his men parts.

There are things that are unforgivable. I would have thought that the reason for Paxton's anger would be among them but from the first moment you could feel Steed's honest regret for what his younger self did rolling off of him. He wasn't very smart in the decision-making department when he was barely out of school and that is the only reason I can forgive him what he did. He was a young scared boy facing a future he never pictured. He did try to make up for his kneejerk decision but it was too late then.

The betrayal and hurt Paxton feels when Steed walks back into her life are excruciating. His past ten years without her make it all the harder to forgive him and for a while they go in circles and Paxton learns more about herself and her own mistakes in the time following her tragedy while she finds a way to lay the past to rest. I thought that was very well executed. Paxton didn't give in right away and needed time to heal and Steed did a lot of grovelling and really earned her forgiveness.

Once they move past their issues the angst pretty much stops, the story becomes a lot more light-hearted and it gets a little too mushy and sweet for my taste. It doesn't really feel natural anymore to get so many "I love yous" and tearing up because, you know, happy, within a couple of pages and all the overly sweet stuff starts to feel a bit like fillers.

A couple of words about the characters. Steed is a cowboy and he has the alpha character and filthy mouth to go with it. He really knows how to woo a woman. He is tenacious in his pursuit of Paxton, he really wants to make it up to everyone who got caught in the drama. I liked Paxton and her spirit and her ability to see her own mistakes.

While this was a leeettle bit too sweet for me and I expected more angst I still loved the whole cast, setting and storyline of this book and I will definitely continue reading this series. The family consists of 7 siblings so I think we are in for quite a ride. Especially because those cowboys are all man-hos who will be fun to watch when they are brought down to their knees by a female.

Lost Love is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

This book deals with some serious issues which might be a trigger for some readers.

Title: Lost Love (Cowboys and Angels Book 1)
Author: Kelly Elliot
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 3/5

I'll be honest I haven't really read many romance books where the leading males 'Steed' in this case have been a cowboy but I do love a good second chance romance so I was interested to see where this would go.

High school sweethearts Steed and Paxton are reunited after 10 years apart, angry words and poor decisions cost them 10 years together but now Steed is back home at his parents cattle ranch fresh from a divorce with his 5yr old daughter in tow and set to make amends.

It wasn't a case of Paxton just letting Steed back into her life quite so easily he had to work for it and that's basically what the first half of this book is about after that it was all happily ever after stuff, sweetness and love there was no drama.

This was my first read by Kelly Elliot very well written and it looks set to be a promising series overall there was very little drama I did enjoy it but I was expecting there to be have been more angsty moments but it was just a sweet, feel good swoon worthy second chance romance.

I absolutely fell in love with this second chance romance. Do you remember when you were 18 and you did or said stupid things? Well Steed definitely did that and it literally made me gasp on why and what he said. THEN to leave for 10 years?! I wanted to hurt him bodily. Even when he was gone he didn't want to hear anything about Paxton.

When he comes back with his daughter Chloe (who I absolutely loved!!) and unexpectedly runs into Paxton it about breaks my heart then too. (I had tears quite a few times in the book - sadness but I also had happy tears!)

You can feel the chemistry from these two has not diminished at all even with all the time spent apart but you can feel the love that these two share too. When they would talk about what happened and about how they felt, yep, you guessed it....tears. Steed's reactions about made me a blubbering mess.

Will Paxton be able to forgive him or will she make good on her threat? Will they be able to overcome everything that happened? I loved meeting this family and can't wait to read all about them.

When I heard Kelly Elliott was writing a new series and there were going to be cowboys involved I was so excited because Ms. Elliot writes cowboys so awesomely. They're all alpha and swoony and sexy and, and, and....

Well, Steed Parker is the first brother we meet in this series and he lives up to everything I was hoping he was going to be...

"Check out that body. You can tell he's a Parker brother."

When Steed comes back home after being gone for several years, running away from the love of his life, Paxton Monroe, he thinks he and his beautiful daughter Chloe will be making a fresh start not knowing that Paxton is about to be thrust into their lives on a daily basis. These two have so much history filled with so much love, but also with an immeasurable amount of pain.

It nearly broke my heart when I found out what happened to rip this couple who absolutely complete each other apart. When Steed sees Paxton for the first time he was in shock with how much she had changed....

"My eyes swept over her body. The young girl I fell in love with had turned into a beautiful woman. The most beautiful woman I'd ever laid eyes on."

And once he saw her, all bets are off, because Steed is going to get her back no matter what it takes. I swooned every time he tried to get her forgiveness and what he wanted to say to her. There's so much pain there and when they both break down and confront what tore them apart I broke right along with him. The emotions were so deep and so beautifully conveyed by Ms. Elliott's words that you can't help but feel their pain along with the overwhelming amount of love they still have for each other.

The difference this time is that this is an adult love and a sexual chemistry that is so much more intense than when they were in high school and wowza it's HOT!!!

"I inhaled deeply. His musky scent filled my senses and shot right between my legs. Who was I kidding? I wanted him too. More than anything.....The boy I fell in love with was now a man. His six pack abs made my fingers itch to touch them...so I did."

As we move through the story and our H/h find themselves not only as a man and a woman but also as a couple, throwing Chloe into the mix I laughed, I cried and I ultimately fell in love with Steed, Paxton and Chloe and the entire Parker family and I know we're in for quite a ride with this deliciously new series and I can't wait for the next book!!!

Lost Love
By: Kelly Elliott

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Review by Kristie K

Kelly Elliott delivers a beautiful, sweet, sensual, and heartbreaking second chance romance that will make your heart smile…

Lost Love is the first installment of a new series by Kelly Elliott, Cowboys & Angels. A second chance romance that follows high school sweethearts that had found their forever love…but unforeseen circumstances and harsh words tore them apart when they needed each other most. After ten years, and a lifetime of pain and regret, they have their second chance. The question is whether or not they will take it.

Steed Parker…dayum. I don’t honestly know what else to say about the man. He is absolutely perfect. From his gorgeous bod, to his warm heart, and his incredible soul…the man is truly dreamy. Yeah, he made some bad choices back in the day, but he has more than paid the price for those mistakes. When he comes back home to his family, the real fight of his life begins. He is determined to win back the heart of the girl he left behind, and will stop at nothing to make it happen. Paxton Monroe is the epitome of a wholesome, beautiful, small town girl. She is sweet as candy, kind, gorgeous, and has a heart the size of Texas. Completely devastated when Steed left her, she never truly got over the betrayal. When he comes back into town with a secret, and a determination to make things right, Paxton is torn between her heart and her head.

These characters were SOOOOOO incredible. Oh the feels they made me feel! They were so genuine and real, with depth and an authenticity that shone through. Even the supporting characters had something special, and made me want to be a part of their world. Ms. Elliott was able to build a family, a town, and a world that was truly captivating. It was a slow build, a wonderful anticipation, and a deep longing. The plot and storyline were breathtaking, heartbreaking, and wonderful. There were small twists, little turns, and off shoots of the original storyline that kept you wondering. My one regret is that most of these side stories never went anywhere or received a resolution. The cover of this book is all kinds of hot, and the blurb gives you a small taste of what you will get inside. I am sooooo looking forward to the next installment, to see what the Parker family has in store next.

The Parker brothers are famous in Texas. Cowboys at heart! Steed was no different except he left his home and his girlfriend Paxton Munroe right after high school graduation. It is his biggest regret. Now that he can finally move back he’s looking forward to being home and winning Paxton back but this time he brings a surprise with him that just might end up making winning Paxton back even harder.

When I was first introduced to Kelly Elliott’s book I fell in love with her writing. When the announcement of this new series came out I got excited and couldn’t wait to starting reading the series. The one thing I know is that Kelly never disappoints her readers and this is no different. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

From the first few pages Kelly had drawn me in and I fell in love with Chloe and Steed. Chloe is an adorable little girl who captures you heart from the moment you meet her. Needless to say her daddy Steed is one hell of a cowboy and an amazing father. It also helps that he is the kind of man that any female would fall for. He’s a romantic at heart with a dirty mouth that turns anyone woman on. All the Parker brothers seem to have this trait which makes them dangerous and Steed may be the most dangerous of all with the way he is with his daughter.

One thing is evident from the moment Paxton sees Steed for the first time is that their love has never died. The air crackles around them when they are in the same room. I knew that Paxton was hurt and angry with Steed but you can’t help but be on Steed’s side and hope that they can work things out and get back together. Everything about these two draws you in and I couldn’t help but get caught up in their story, finding that I ended up reading late into the night. I love how both Steed and Paxton included Chloe as part of their relationship. I was Leary at first because of my beliefs but as I read further into the book I began to love how they included her.

If this is just the beginning of the series I can’t wait see what Kelly has in store for us in the rest of the series!!

Heartbreak. Grief. Anger. Sadness. Regret.

For the past 10 years, these are the emotions that have defined Paxton Monroe and Steed Parker’s lives. One fateful night of poor reactions and angry words cost these high school sweethearts a decade of making new memories and living out the plans they made as a young couple in love.

Steed’s return home gives him the chance to make amends and discuss everything that happened between him and Paxton all those years ago, but before Steed can work to earn back the only woman he’s ever loved, he’ll need to fight through the wall she created - one that seems nearly impenetrable because it’s layered with grief for everything she lost, anger for Steed’s abandonment, and fear for getting hurt and being left broken once again.

The small-town community in Oak Springs, Texas, is the perfect backdrop for Paxton and Steed’s story because at the heart of everything that they’ve lost and are hoping to reclaim centers around the idea of family. And the Parker brood are one heck of a tight knit family who go above and beyond when it comes to providing a variety of avenues for Steed to fight the battle for Paxton’s heart, and because Steed’s family is behind him, he knows that win or lose, he made the right choice in coming home.

There’s a lot of work to be done in order to heal Paxton’s open wounds. Steed’s return makes her heartache and despair feel as fresh as they were 10 years ago and it also forces Steed to truly understand just how much they lost when she sent him away and he never came back. But one thing readers will come to see about Steed is that he’s tenacious when he wants something and because Paxton is his everything, he’ll prove to her that she can trust him to handle her heart with care and build a life together that’s even better than the one they planned for when they were in high school.

Lost Love is my favorite Kelly Elliott book to date. Elliott always tells her stories in a way that allows her readers to feel EVERYTHING that her main characters feel, and that still holds true in Paxton and Steed’s story, but she seems to go even deeper in illustrating Paxton and Steed’s emotions and the people they become after walking out of each other’s lives, and as Elliott takes readers on the couple’s new journey, it’s clear what’s at stake for everyone involved in their lives and how forgiving one another for their past misdeeds will give them a fighting chance at a happily ever after.

I'm a sucker for a second chance romance story, and Lost Love by Kelly Elliott is a definite must read! Paxton and Steed's story will melt readers’ heart, especially because of a certain outspoken and adorable 5 year old!

I’m in love with Kelly Elliot’s books! She always knocks it out of the park and this was no exception.

My heart went through a great deal of emotional states while reading this. Pax and Steed’s story was just the right kind of heartbreaking book to keep you entranced by it and make you cry with the overwhelming emotions it ignited.

Pax was a sweet woman, she had an awful thing happen to her in the past and now her life was the result of that, she wasn’t happy; she didn’t even remember how that felt like. Still she wasn’t prepared to see him again, Steed came back into her life like a hurricane and there was no way of ignoring him or the effect he had on her.

Steed character was just wow! He was all man and a great father; I couldn’t even imagine how he could be capable of doing what he did before leaving his childhood home. But he had come really far, he was ready to get the life he deserved and there was only one way of getting that, and that was Pax.

The back and forward between them was fun to read and at the same time it was truly brutal to see how deeply they had hurt each other. Nevertheless we get to see how sometimes love can overcome it all, and you might gain so much more from granting forgiveness, even when some things seem too hard to let go.

My favorite touching moments where the ones they shared with Chloe, I bursted into tears so many times I stop counting. Their hearts where so big, they had a great capacity for love and they filled them with love for each other.

Pax took a big role onto her shoulders I know how hard this could be since I had an amazing stepmom. This aspect of the story made the characters more real, it was not just a romance story, it was a story about life and real hardships.

I was overwhelmed when I finished reading and that’s how I know it was a good book, the type that leaves a mark on you and stays forever in your heart.

Kelly Elliott takes the reader on a journey of young love, heartbreak and redemption in Lost Love, and it is an emotional and deeply satisfying second-chance romance. Steed Parker and Paxton Monroe were high school sweethearts and had their future mapped out when Paxton unexpectedly became pregnant. Steed reacts poorly to the idea of fatherhood, and he devastates Paxton with insensitive words and immature actions. She miscarries the baby, but the damage to their relationship is done, and Steed runs from the situation believing he’s responsible. He leaves Paxton and their dreams for the future in order to attend college across the country, and he doesn’t return for 10 years.

Steed moves back home, divorced and with a 6-year-old daughter. He comes face-to-face with Paxton for the first time when he discovers that she’s his daughter’s kindergarten teacher. He’s never stopped loving her and wants to make amends for the past but faces a seemingly insurmountable challenge. She’s never moved on and loves him, too, but she is still angry over his abandonment and heartbroken over their loss. There is a magnetic pull between Steed and Paxton, as if their hearts call out to each other, but the only chance they have to be together is if they can face their painful past and forgive themselves — and each other — for their mistakes. Lost Love is a passionate, touching and captivating second-chance romance that will have you sighing over the pure sweetness of first love.

Kelly Elliott is a genius!!! That is my personal opinion on the matter. I have loved each and every one of Kelly’s books I have read and this one has just nipped into the top spot. I absolutely fell head over ass in love with this story and I couldn’t put it down!

This is the first book in a new series called Cowboys & Angels and I can't wait to see what Is in store for us with these amazing characters! The Parker men will leave you swooning while also melting the panties right off you!

Paxton and Steed were high school sweethearts but after something awful happens Steed leaves for college and doesn’t come back for ten long years. Things don't go like either expect them to and there are plenty of spanners thrown in to keep you interested!

One thing about Kelly's book that I love the most is the fact that I feel each and every emotion alongside her characters! My heart broke for these two and the things they had been through and I felt their pain as if it were my own. To me that shows just what a talented author Kelly really is!

Chloe stole my heart from early on in this story, she was such a sweetheart and you couldn't help but fall in love with her. The relationship between her and Steed was beautiful and witnessing the relationship between Paxton and Chloe develop was such a heartwarming part of this story.

I absolutely loved each of these characters, they were relatable, likeable and at times so hot they burned more than the sheets!! The banter between the Parker siblings was hilarious and their relationships were a brilliant thing to read about.

This was an emotional, thought provoking book that had me bawling at one point then fanning myself in another. An amazing new series that I can't wait to continue!

Lost Love by Kelly Elliott
"Second chance, 5 stars"

I absolutely loved Lost Love. It was so easy to get sucked into and was the perfect example as to why I love Elliott.
Paxton and Steed fell into love when they were young. They had big plans for the future only for them to be shattered by childhood stupidity. Neither fully recovered from each other.
Steed ran from home when his life crumbled. Well sometimes for life to get good you have to find your way back home. Which is exactly where Steed finds himself with his daughter.
Paxton has never fully recovered from Steed. When he walts into her classroom with a little girl who looks just like him she knows nothing is going to be the same. She thought she could protect her heart from him, but from his daughter Chloe all bets are off.
I love how in Lost Love it wasn't just a story about Steed and Paxton's journey to a HEA. They made sure they included Chloe which I feel like a lot of books involving kids don't really do, at least not to this extent. The secondary characters in this story were awesome as well, I seriously cannot wait for the next book in the series. The only thing that drove me crazy is wondering where Steed's parents got his name when the rest of his family had "normal" names, and lets be honest that's nothing! Take a chance on Lost Love, this will be a great group to follow.

Plot- 5/5
Characters- 5/5

I always enjoy a second chance romance and of course I have always loved Kelly Elliott so here we get the best of both and topping it off with hot cowboys and swoon-worthy romance !! Ok so it isn't always easy or pretty but I know what I am getting with KE and I appreciate the ease and flow of her writing and as always her covers !!

Steed ran from home 10 years ago - from his family and his girl- it didn't make his life any easier because now 10 years later he is back home begging for forgiveness divorced and a single dad. He may be able to win back the hearts of his family but winning back his girl is a challenge. Paxton suffered a great deal on her own 10 years ago and so seeing Steed in town is like a slap in the face. Reality comes slamming back down and feelings that they thought were hidden or over make themselves known. I hate that Steed went on with life and did things to purposely forget Paxton - which didn't work - yet Paxton kind of just did what she had to to get by. She may have lived but never fully. The sexual tension and chemistry between the two was on fire and I loved every minute we got of that. Their past story was heartbreaking and although it did make Steed look like a total jerk I can get on board with his honesty and how he did man up the next time around when he found himself in a life changing situation. In true KE style we get all the feels and an ending that leaves us wanting more for the series and excited for who and what comes next !!

M/F Second chance romance
Triggers: Miscarriage
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This is a great second chance romance story. There are a ton of characters that you get to know and I loved them all.

Steed left a decade ago and regretted his decision every day. However, when he meets Kim, things begin to change. He has a beautiful daughter, Chloe and despite not having a great wife/mom in Kim, Steed tries to make it work. When it's clear that it won't work, he goes back home to Texas to be near his family.

Paxton has never truly gotten over her loss. Both of her child and of Steed. Despite moving on with her life, becoming what she always wanted, which was a kindergarten teacher, Paxton has always had something missing.

When Steed brings Chloe for Kindergarten round up, he's surprised by Paxton being the new teacher. To say that their reunion was rough is putting it mildly. Surprised and hurt come flowing back for both of them.

I loved watching Steed and Paxton fall in love all over again. Steed's family is full of hilarious people and Paxton's best friend, Corina is amazing! I don't want to write too much, but know that the chemistry between Paxton and Steed is off the charts hot.

I can't wait to see where this series will go but I'm kind of upset that we have to wait for Corina's story. However, I do love Amelia too, so I can't wait to see where her life goes.

I gladly volunteered and accepted an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. First of all I'm a huge fan of Kelly Elliott; she writes the sweetest books. And second, who turns down a second chance romance that includes a hot cowboy!!!

Steed Parker and Paxton Monroe were childhood sweethearts that broke up horribly the night of their high school graduation. Right after Steed was just as broken as Paxton and left the state of Texas and moved to Oregon. They both forbid their family to speak of the other and Paxton avoided Steed's family since they lived in a small town. Steed never returned home.

Fast forward ten long years and Steed finally returns home and one thing on his mind was Paxton. Paxton hadn't expected to see Steed show up in her life again after so many years. *I can't say how they run into each other because it will be a spoiler.

Paxton tried avoiding Steed but he wasn't giving up. He needed to clear the air with her. This was a very emotional part of the book that had come close to tears because I can relate to what happened to Paxton. After they smoke and took their time to get reacquainted again this story went from emotional to extremely beautiful and funny.

The icing on the cake is Steed's 4 hot brothers so ladies this book has 5 hot alpha swoony cowboys, a firecracker sister that is hilarious and the most adorable 5 year old.

This was a great start to a new series and I can't wait to read more about the Parkers.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! That is what I thought of this new series by Kelly Elliott. Let me start off by saying I have been reading her books since wanted came out in 2012 and as the years have gone on, the stories have just gotten better and better and boy am I excited for this crazy family.
This book is the first in a seven book series about the Parker Siblings… 5 Brothers and 2 sisters, we all know we are in for a ride. This Book started right off grabbing me and I could not put it down. I can honestly say, this is probably my favorite book by Kelly that she has written ( I loved her greek men so this is a lot to say lol).
The story of Steed and Paxton, broke my heart and throughout the story they were able to piece it all back together. This book is filled with loss, learning acceptance, learning to grieve and learning to take that next step forward without knowing what the future will hold.
Steed, is the perfect alpha cowboy, who knows how to swoon a woman… let me say if I got the date he planned… that man would be having a fabulous night!!!! (you will see what I mean). Paxton, I loved because even though she was willing to give a second chance to Steed, she made him work for it. Chole, she stole my heart and I ached for that little girl and the love that she wanted.
I can say this book was a 5 star read for me and I cannot wait to see what else the Parker Siblings bring to the table… This is an amazing start to an amazing New Series!!!

Steed Parker is returning home after being away for the past decade. He is finally able to give his daughter the kid of childhood he experienced on his family's ranch, with his parents and siblings by his side, and he is beyond relieved to be home.

Paxton Monroe was once the love of Steed's life. He never got over her, but also was never able to heal the breach he had caused during their relationship when they were younger. When he runs into her in the worst possible blindside, can these two broken people ever heal and forgive their past mistakes...

This book was wonderful. Heartbreaking at times, yet full of hope and true love. Steed has always loved Paxton. He knows he was wrong in the mistakes of his past, but now when he comes to realize how much he truly let Paxton down, can they start to heal. Paxton has been through a lot of loss. She has been happy with her life without Paxton, until she see's him face to face and their history is brought to the forefront.

With a slow burn romance and working through a lot of forgiveness in the beginning of this book, the last half is fast paced, sexy and full of love and good times. This was a well written read, with a fantastic plot and interesting characters. As the first in the series, I can't wait for more of the stories from the Parker family to come.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

AMAZING second chance romance. Steed left his home in Texas 10 years ago and being back now he has to face the one person he is afraid to see, his high school girlfriend Paxton. The heartbreak in this book makes you cry right along with the characters, but the talks they have are so very important for both of them. They both must deal with the loss before either can really move on. And obviously neither one is really over the other.

I think the best part of this book though is Chloe. She is always just such a bright spot and you can’t help but fall in love with her. Her love for life brightens everyone and everything around her. Steed has done a great job of raising her. And I love that Paxton is her Kindergarten teacher (which I hope isn’t a spoiler, but I was able to guess it from the very beginning).

I love Steed’s family. His brothers, sisters and his parents. They all add a great element to this book as well. The fact that Paxton has known them forever also adds that element. Her college friend Corina was a nice touch also. It is nice to get all the different perspectives, even if the book is told in 1st person between Steed and Paxton.

Heartache, forgiveness (of yourself and others), love, relationships, family, there is a little bit of everything in this book, and will keep you engaged page after page. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Elliott but it will not be my last.

What I did notice right off the bat ...these little doodles or drawings throughout (gorgeous cover!!) the book are so darn cute!! love them. I love anything ranch/farm related in a romance book. Kelly Elliott certainly knows how to write a book that makes you feel all the emotions right along with the characters. Lost Love is a beautiful second chance romance.

Paxton and Steed were high school sweethearts and after one horrible night of bad reactions and angry words, Steed runs away full of guilt until he returns 10 years ago and all the old wounds are reopened and bleeding. Their emotions are so raw and painful with everything they have been through but he wants to make Amends.

Steed wants Paxton back and he is relentless about getting what he wants. She's the only woman he has ever loved and he needs to break down her fortified walls that are reinforced with grief, abandonment issues and fear or letting someone in again.

With Steed and the rest of the Parker Clan increasing in their efforts to bring Paxton and Steed back together, especially gorgeously cute Chloe-Cat, there is no way they can resist each other for long.

This is a brilliant start to this new Cowbiys and Angels series. There is no way you can not read this book and not fall in live with the Parker family and those boys, OMG such hot boys in one family! I can't wait to read their stories and I am seriously hoping Mitchell is next.

This book rocked me. The emotions you go through while reading this book is amazing. The fact that Kelly can drag out so many emotions is astonishing. This is probably my favorite book by Kelly. I really loved Wanted and Faithful but this book just spoke to me.

Paxton was a strong woman. I loved how she was so strong and not a whinny girl. My heart broke for her. She had a lot to deal with on her own and she overcame it all!!!

Chloe was an adorable, beautiful, sweet little girl. My heart broke for her also because of the way her mom was. She melted my heart with some of the things she said!!

Steed broke my heart. I understand he was young but he still broke my heart. I felt bad for Paxton. But he totally redeemed himself. The things that man does and says will have you falling in love with him!!

This was an amazing read. If you've ever read a Kelly book you'll definitely want to read this one! I think it's the best one she's written yet!!! If this is the first you're in for a treat when you start the Wanted series!

I cannot wait to read Amelia, Trevor, Mitchel, Waylynn, Cord and Tripp's stories!! The Parker's are one family you don't want to miss out on. The dirty talking brothers!!!

Steed and Paxton story is a second chance love story. But their past was something so tragic they almost didn't make it back to each other. There was so much hurt and suffering.

When Steed comes back home with his daughter, he knows he wants to make everything right again with the only woman he's ever truly loved. When Paxton see's Steed's home again, she wants nothing to do with him. All that pain she suffered all those come rushing back to her like it just happened all over again.

Steed gives Paxton the time she needs to wrap her mind that he's back and that he isn't going anywhere. He there's there to fight to get her heart back and nothing or anyone is going to stand in the way of getting his woman, even her!

The relationship Paxton and Steed have is that one love that you one find one time in your life. They both suffered so much and when they finally get to be together again, it's beautiful in so many ways. I loved this book so hard and I can't wait for more!

The Cowboys and Angels series is going to be so good! I can feel it! The Parker family has become one of favorites. I can't wait for everyone to get their own book!

Paxton Monroe had to pick up the pieces after Steed Parker walked away from her years ago. He left her at the most crucial time of her life, when she needed him the most, and didn’t look back. Flash forward 10 years and Steed has returned, only things are very different.
Did he come back to torment her, or did he come back for her? Will she forgive him after all this time has passed, or will she be unable to forgive and move on? Will her anger take over or will the fact that she never stopped loving him?
As with every Kelly Elliott book I have ever read, Lost Love quickly became one of my favorites. Kelly knows how to pull on the reader’s heart strings and make me root for the couples. Now, did I feel that Steed was lacking in character when he walked away? I sure did, but I kept reading, and I learned that Paxton was just as big a part of their demise as Steed was.
Lost love gets 4 out of 5 starts from me. 4 only because I feel like Steed walking away initially was exactly what I expected him to do, and not necessarily in line with what I wanted him to do.
Another great read from Kelly Elliott and I can’t wait for the rest of the Parker siblings’ stories.

This is such a sweet second chance at love story! Paxton and Steed have the kind of love that stands the test of time, and regardless of how much time has passed, that love is still alive and even more fierce than it was before. But Steed has a LOT of making up to do in order to get back into Paxton's good graces. And there's even more on the line now that Steed's back in Texas.

I gotta be honest, I empathized with Paxton and her feelings, especially once she learned Steed was back in town to stay, and everything he brought back with him. One thing I appreciated with this story was that the issues from their past wasn't dragged out throughout the story; Steed and Paxton cleared the air about what happened 10 years prior and how it affected both of their lives up until the present. And they did it in a mature way, which gives the book a bit more authenticity. I will say that I felt that Steed was a bit too emotional for me at times, but that's just me.

I like the way this wrapped up, and I can't wait to get my eyes on Carina's and Mitchell's story, plus I have a feeling that the oldest Parker sibling's story is gonna be a good one!

"Fear is temporary, regret is forever.”

Steed and Pax!! What a cute couple!
Steed is back to Texas at his family ranch with his daughter Chloe. He was away for 10 years... 10years since he saw Paxton , his high school sweetheart for the last time... when she pushed him away.

Pax 's life has been on stand by since the love her life left her behind. She's been angry at the world, incapable of love or happiness since that day, when her world collapsed. When Steed Parker turned up at the school where she works she didn't expect him to be there as a dad of one of new pupils - Chloe Parker.

This is a brilliant second chance love story! It was so so sweet and endearing. I really enjoyed reading it and I felt for Pax and Steed. Chloe is for me the star of the story! She's is the most adorable wee girl , I ever come across in a book.
If you like single dad's story, with cowboyS and a cute little girl and a HEA- this one is for you .

Steed and Paxton were high school sweethearts that everyone was sure would last forever. That one even changed it all. But is there any hope for a second chance when Steed returns to Texas?

It doesn't take long for Steed to take over your heart as we see him interact with his daughter Chloe. He wants to do everything in his power to make her happy. His biggest worry about coming home is that Paxton will be gone or never look at him the same way again.

Paxton is doing what she can to keep her life moving forward. She lover her job as a kindergarten teacher. She loves her little home and the town she grew up in. One thing is missing though. She has never really been able to move on from Steed. She has tried but he was her heart.

Will they be able to move forward from the past? Is there room for forgiveness and maybe still love?

This book was a great start to new series. Were have met the entire family, established their dynamics and relationships with each other. There was some humor mixed in with the seriousness and sadness of the past. I am looking forward to what is to come with the series.

Kelly. Freakin. Elliott! OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I absolutely adored this book! Such a great storyline and the characters were amazing. I fell for them instantly. Even the characters that were not Steed and Paxton were captivating. I loved their constant banter and one liners. The story definitely needed some humor. It was a heavy topic. One that will shatter your heart and want to kick Steed in the balls. I know I sure wanted to. Crazy man. I didn't know whether to hug him or hit him. But since hes so hot I think hes redeemable. HAHA.

Lost Love was great from the first page to the last. I felt every tear, laugh, and every other emotion in between. Steed and Paxton are great together... But their past is rough and ugly. I was hoping and crossing my fingers that they would pull through. One issue after another is thrown at them. Paxton needing to let go of the past and Steed needing forgiveness. The feels were intense! I wanted more. .

I cant wait for the next book in this new series. I know they will be just as epic as this one. Kelly is brilliant with her words!!!!!

What an emotional read from Kelly Elliott. This second chance love story will totally pull at your heartstrings. It was one of those stories where I couldn't wait to turn the page hoping they would finally get their happily ever after whilst at the same time not wanting it to end.

Growing up Steed and Paxton were the love of each others lives. They thought they would be together forever, that was until Paxton received some life changing news and just when she needed Steed the most he walked away leaving her heartbroken. Now ten years later Steed is back home and hoping its not to late to right all the wrongs where Paxton is concerned, but he broke her heart and lost all her trust its going to take a lot of hard work to get her back!

I am ashamed to say that I have a few of Kelly Elliott's books on my kindle but never had the chance to read them but now they are definitely at the top of the list!

Kelly Elliott is an automatic one-click author for me. Every story she writes makes me fall in love and makes me swoon with pride.

This is a story of a second chance. A second chance to make all the wrongs right and to learn to heal as love hurts but also as love never dies if it's your soulmate.

Steed Parker is back home in Texas after 10 years away. Bringing with him his daughter, Chloe.

Chloe's first day of Kindergarten is one day that Steed won't forget as he meets her teacher. Paxton Monroe. The first and only love of his life.

Paxton is shocked as she see's Steed for the first time in 10 years. At the back to school night with his daughter.

We follow these two and their past to find out if second chances really do happen. You'll go through every emotion while we read this addicting story.

Kelly had written the newest Cowboy book boyfriend. Trust me y'all will want a Steed Parker for yourself. Highly recommended.

Kelly's Wanted series has always held my heart, BUT after reading Lost Love I may be pushing Wanted to the side. I fell in love with all the characters in the book. I may be falling for a certain Parker brother. (Travis is MINE)!!! #Travina This story is a second chance romance with a bit a of heartbreak and healing. Following Paxton and Steed through their journey to find each and love again, they show that no matter how many hurdles are thrown they can get through it. There is no lack of romance in this story, and talk about some steamy scene.

Kelly is my go to author for reads. She has yet to let me down. If you are wanting to start a new series this is one that's a must.

Kelly Elliott’s Lost Love is a wonderful start to the Cowboys & Angel’s series!!! This second-chance romance is sweet, spicy and just plain delicious!!

Paxton and Steed’s love story will stick with me for a long time. The author does a tremendous job making you want to root for this couple in spite of their painful history. Kelly Elliott makes you feel Paxton’s anger, resentment and her tremendous yearning for her lost love regardless of the horrific mistakes that he had made in the past.

“The way he stared into my soul had me feeling unsteady. My heart was telling me to run to him, but my head was guarding my heart.” ~Paxton

Paxton’s vulnerability is emotionally evocative and serves as a foundation for the story, but Steed’s regret, sorrow and determination to win back the love of his life is also apparent. At one point in the novel I wanted to cry for Paxton, yet at the same time I hoped that Steed would man up, earn Paxton back and redeem himself.

Part of Lost Love’s appeal is how much Southern charm emanates from the pages of this novel. The entire scene surrounding the setting of Oak Springs, Texas had me reveling in the true appeal of the South! I could envision the Parker’s ranch, the high school football games and the tiny town that captured a piece of my heart. Plus, I have a weakness for cowboys and their cowboy boots, cowboy hats, form-fitting jeans and roping skills, and Lost Love has all of that and more!

Though Lost Love is very entertaining, has lovable characters and the writing is excellent this novel lost a star for one plot point that I just could **not** get past. Luckily, I was well invested in the story due to my love for Steed and Paxton’s characters so I managed to overlook it….but barely.

Overall, this story about love, loss, grief, sadness and resurrecting a strong, passionate love from the ashes is a page turner. In spite of the heartache in the first quarter of the book, the last quarter of the book is enough to make any romance lover nearly crack a tooth from smiling.

My rating is 4/5 stars for a satisfying summer read!

This is my first read from author Kelly Elliott and the first in the Cowboys and Angels series. First, the good stuff! I enjoyed the cast of characters, the Parker siblings were hilarious and I actually liked that the brothers were all manwhores (with the exception of Steed) because it'll make their stories more interesting later. I liked that Steed was so lamentable for his past actions. I'm a firm believer in the power of saying (and meaning) sorry and his actions and words were very effective. Paxton was incredibly sweet, strong and in the end forgiving. I was able to relate to her the most, completely felt her anguish and sorrow. Last, adorable little Chloe, Steed's daughter. Don't we all WISH our kids were that angelic?!? Paxton and Steed's chemistry was hot and spicy! It was obvious they belonged together. The only reason why this story wasn't perfect for me was because it became a tad sappy and repetitive for my tastes. I wanted Steed to be more ALPHA and dominant. Otherwise, this was a good book about forgiveness and starting over, about family and small town life. Told from dual POVs with a sweet end. I received, read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.

Oh the feels! We already know that I'm a fan of second chance romances, but if my reading tastes lately are any indication, apparently I have a thing for cowboys too, so Lost Love was a one-two punch for me! I immediately felt for Paxton (her situation with Steed reminded me a bit of Mack Daddy by Penelope Ward - but on such another level). The level of loss that she suffered all alone was staggering, so her anger towards Steed was totally warranted. It was so good to see a male lead who did wrong take responsibility for his misdeeds and work his best to make up for them. Because you could tell that the love was genuine between the two of them, it was very satisfying when they reconciled and I really liked that it didn't feel rushed or hurried. So between some satisfying begging and groveling from the male lead, a relatable female lead, a sweet love story, and some hot sex - I really enjoyed Lost Love. I give it 3.75 out of 5 wine glasses and can't wait for the series to continue (I'm particularly interested in how Steed's brothers are developed as they all seemed sort of douchey to me).

So so so good. Like second chance romance? Like sexy cowboys with big hearts? Well, this is your book. Steed and Paxton are hot together. Another wonderful book by Ms. Elliott. Great start to a new series. It's the story of Paxton and Steed who get a second chance at love. I loved the connection they have, but I loved Chloe even more. Steed Parker ran away. Ran away from problems and from the one girl he ever loved. He never thought he would return back to his families ranch and have to face her again... or bring up feelings from the past.

Paxton never really wanted Steed to leave, she just needed some space. So Steed leaving broke her more than she already was. Having to face him brings up the past and feelings she thought was long since buried. Not only that, he comes home with a daughter.

Can Steed and Paxton forgive and move on? One click now. This story definitely has the push and pull between these two characters.

Standalone though book 1 in a larger family series
Told from both POVs
Minor editing errors throughout

I have loved every book by this author and this one is no different. She does a great job of writing love stories that don't take forever to develop and aren't so drama riddled that it takes over the story. All her books are the perfect blend of sweet and hot with just a dash of drama to keep things interesting.

Paxton and Steed (yes it's his real name) were high school sweethearts. When they were 18 Paxton got pregnant and Steed freaked out. While he was taking time to get his head on straight she lost the baby and blamed him for it.

Fast forward 10 years and Steed is back in town and has a daughter with him. When Paxton finds out she loses it and reminds him of her promise to cut his d**k off and shove it down his throat if he ever comes near her again.

When forces push them together again they have to decide if they can move past their pain and guilt or if they will let it consume them and ruin the only happiness either of them have ever known.

Throw in a bunch of hot brothers and hysterical sisters and you have yourself a great start to a new series. Can't wait for book 2!

This is a really good book but emotionally very heavy. The characters and the story line are well developed and interesting. This is about a couple who falls in love in high school only to be ripped apart by life. Then years later, the male character returns trying to atone for the past. I'm not going to lie, this one is going to give you mixed emotions. You do end up rooting for both characters. It's definitely worth the read but have some tissues ready.

Kelly Elliott is one of my all time favorite authors. I've never been disappointed by one of her books and Lost Love is right up there with the absolute best! Steed and Paxton's story while heartbreaking at times is still one of the most beautifully sweet books I have ever read. I cried tears of sadness and then tears of joy with these characters.
