Imagine you are 23, great figure, hair and considered pretty. You are smart and take that talent to a different world than what you know (NYNY) and when it doesn't turn out your way on the very first night you throw a fit, become extremely rude and run and cry. To make up for it you put on a skintight dress the length of a t-shirt, stiletto's, a ton of makeup and approach the cause of your tantrum with "look at me!, come and get me!, opps, don't touch, I'm all dressed up for you because I want your respect, but don't touch!"... And you think you know all about an industry (restaurant) even though your experience came from growing up and working in a town described as being down a dirt road in Texas. AND your'e dirt poor but know all about worldwide ethnic cuisine (expensive to eat in a restaurant that is not located in said town in TX) so you think you deserve a great job and respect right now (there were tech school references). The Allure of Julian (I read before this one) was at least believable, this one....no way. Lily is her name and I couldn't stand her right from her first hissy fit. She didn't deserve to be written into this book.

What a thoroughly enjoyable romance. The story was fantastic. Lots of heated erotic moments, a story twist near the end that leads to some hijinks, lots and lots of laughs, and two likable couples. I loved Lilly's spunks and fire, her best pal Josephine is a true blue friend, Julian is a loyal boyfriend to Josephine and stand-up guy, and Dean... is a man who is a bit complex but with soft edges and not too proud to grow into being a better man.

I really liked the writing style of this author and I am so happy she created a strong will young woman with spirit in Lilly and not some spineless stereotype idea of a constantly weeping young woman when things go awry. Lilly is feminine but not overly girly and a bit of a dork but smart with goals. She’s not afraid to speak her mind when it counts and can show vulnerability when things go south for her.

Our leading man Dean is a typical Alpha with drive and need to succeed in business and not interested in letting his personal life being any sort of priority. That is until he meets Lilly. When his guard is down he shows the lighter side to himself but later lets his business drive get the better of him and causing him to realize he longs for more that he didn’t’ know he wanted. Dean has enough depth to not totally be in denial of what has changed in him and why.

I appreciated the writer creating a support cast of characters that were interesting and not just some guest star fillers. Example: Zoe is a hoot and quite a quirky character; Hunter is a creep that some of us women have had the displeasure of meeting at least once in our lives; Josephine is a real friend to Lilly but not by telling Lilly what she wants to hear but what she needs to hear but still supportive; and Julian turns out to be a very kind and supportive boyfriend to Josephine and her best friend Lilly even when it may jeopardize his own friendship with Dean.

I can't wait to recommend this book to friends and family. It was a really entertaining book and I really enjoyed all the laughs I had while reading about such a sweet but complicated and most certainly hilarious romance.

This was a fast paced friends to lovers story. I found their banter between one another funny at times, but for the most part I found it to be a bit much. It just seemed to be a constant push and pull. At one point I was thinking "just get over it already". Another thing I found unrealistic was
the heroine being only 23 years of age, but so accomplished. Her character was made out to be the best at everything. Her food blog. Bartending. Waitress. Planning for the new restaurant. Great at business decisions pertaining to the restaurant. A food and alcohol connoisseur. A graduate from culinary school, bartending license.......it just seemed to go on and
on...... It was just too much and I think I would have found this more likely had she been a bit older.

Other than the character issues, and the back and forth emotions, I found the plot to be pleasant. It was a predictable but I still found the dialogue witty and fun. I'll check out more of this writers work in the future.

Such a sweet, funny, super hot and fast passed story!!RS Grey has a way to make me love, making my heart melt with her sweet stories. This one is super good and the the characters have amazing chemistry, keeping you interested till the end.
Lily is Jo's best friend and she just moved in New York looking for a job!Dean is Julian's friend and he is a successful man who owns restaurants. Both have something in common they know about restaurants and food, but both are also very stubborn. So when they meet they try to dominate one each other..
I adored Lily and Dean, and I love so much their dialogues which are smart and hilarious!!I also loved their chemistry and tension, which makes the story more entertaining! Both are stubborn and strong characters and they believe that their opinion is the best so you can imagine how funny is when they are together! But apart from this you can also see that they are perfect for each other! They are passionate, smart, sweet and so lovable! There are some really hot moments that make me wonder maybe this is the hottest book from R.S. Grey!!
I say the same thing each time I finish a book of her but it's the truth! R.S. Grey is one of my favorite authors, her stories are so lightning and funny that every time I finish a book of her I feel so happy <3 <3

The best Rom-Com book I have ever read! Literally, I couldn’t get a hold of myself. Lily is a force of nature, a hurricane. Dean is so ambitious and funny! He is fire and together they are painfully hilarious. Chapter 21 is the funniest chapter I have ever read. It’s my number one piece of literature because I had to run to the restroom from laughing so much at everything that happens in that chapter. You all have to read it. Is raw and real that you can connect in such a deep level with the characters. I love it. I’m going to buy and re-read the book every time I’m feeling sad. It is a great book!

I have heard nothing by good things about this author and I wanted something sweet and funny after the heartbreaking book I read prior to this book . The Allure of Dean Harper was that and more. I couldn’t put it down and now I want to read the previous book The Allure of Julian LeFray which we were first introduced to these characters.

Lily Black has dreams and moved to New York to be with her bestie Josephine and achieve those dreams like they planned. She knows her stuff but stuck in a small town doesn’t really give her much opportunities. However it isn’t turning out how she exactly planned as Jo is all loved up with Julian and her work with Vogue leaving Lily to her own device to make her memories.

Lily isn’t any pushover when it comes to her dreams and she willing to seize any chances, as this feisty girl who knows her stuff so when she gets a call up to Provisions to help out. She never expects to meet Dean Harper that night and get a more than her fair share of his bulls*** and his arrogant behaviour, knowing his reputation . But attraction and desire can do things to people and throw everything else out of the window

A boy from Iowa, Dean Harper is not a name to mess with in the restaurant world. He built his empire in New York , one restaurant at a time catering to the people of New York and made a killing. In the process he become an ass, not willing to risk anything to rock the boat, a shrewd business man. The only people who know the real him a selected few including Julian and Jo and who stuck in the middle wondering when it all goes done .
That night Provisions should have been any another night. However Dean Harper isn’t ready for as his rules are being broken and that they hired a woman who the epitome of what he wants in girl . He doesn’t expect to fall for Lily the instance ,he spots and doesn’t know how to treat her. As Dean isn’t boyfriend material. He proud of his lifestyle but Lily does brings out a response he cant’ response and deal with .

Leaving their first meeting anything less than anyone ever expected with Dean being so snarky you wonder if for sec is this the wrong person speaking. As you would expect snarkiness to come out of Lily’s mouth but this only adds to the allure of this crazy man.

By know we got a good grip whether you are new to the series or old of Lily and the response is nothing less than I would expect. However Dean Harper is only getting started and his response to her defense will have in stitches and hating Dean.

That the magic of this story, their relationship is raw banter as deal with their attraction and the that neither of them wants to admit they are wrong and they want to prove when it comes to restaurant industry they know best. You can’t help but love these two individually and together as deep down past the light and the sweet , is a connection that they can’t shake.

Told in dual POV, allowing us as readers to get inside their heads, only proves it even more. Grey knows how to write and given me a entertaining reading that I can truly say has some of the best banter going wrong. You won’t be disappoint with this light read.

Overall Opinion: It was kind of meh. Had some cute banter, some laugh out loud moments, but I didn't really feel the connection between the characters. I felt the dislike when they were fighting, but then it just changed to love all of a sudden, and I just didn't get it.

Storyline: This is Lily and Dean's story. They meet when Lily goes to a restaurant for a potential bartending job and starts right away. Dean owns the restaurant and is a major micromanager, so he likes to be the one to hire all of the employees. He sees her, and acts as though he is a unhappy customer and she ends up being fired once he drops the bomb that he is the owner. It isn't that easy though, because Lily is best friends with Dean's best friends girlfriend. After some major inner debate, he offers her a job as a consultant for a new restaurant he is opening. They definitely have some hostile feelings toward the other and trade barbs constantly. They eventually and reluctantly give into their major attraction to one another, and start up an unusual work/hate/sex relationship. Feelings start to shift and become stronger. After some work drama and some inner freak outs, they eventually get their HFN.

POV: This alternated between Lily and Dean's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I read this really quick, so no slow parts. The love wasn't instalove, but it wasn't developed enough for me.

H rating: 2 stars. Dean. He was kind of a jerk, and I didn't like his freak out towards the end.

h rating: 3 stars. Lily. She had some funny moments, but otherwise she was just ok.

Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.

Heat level: Low. Fade to black type scenes..,I'm not sure how the reviewers I read stated things like "it was hot" or things along those lines...I didn't think it was necessarily hot. They had tension because they fought all the time, but I can't claim that I felt the sexual tension like I have in some books that I've read before.

Descriptive sex: No.

Closure: I wanted more closure. We do get a jump into their future with the epilogue, but I wanted more...that's just me. I would still call it a HFN though and not a full HEA.

If you're like me and like spoilers -- check out my goodreads review.

Worth the $?: Yes. It is on kindle unlimited. Not sure it would be worth it if it wasn't though...sorry.

I seriously adore and love R.S. Grey. She seriously knows how to write these fun, sex, playful, charming, sweet romantic comedies. Every time, I read one of her books I always end up loving it and having a big fat smile on my face. And in her newest release, The Allure of Dean Harper, Ms. Grey has once again got me addicted to her stories.

" For all I knew, I had hours to live. For all I knew, Lily would be the death of me. I smiled at the thought. What a way to go...."

The Allure of Dean Harper was a sweet, sexy, witty, funny, lighthearted love/hate romantic comedy that focuses on two people who should on paper be a perfect match since they both are in the restaurant/food industry but in reality, these two are like oil and water. Lily Black recently moved to NYC in hopes of starting her career in the restaurant business. Smart, beautiful, and confident, Lily should easily land a job. Right? Well, the first job she lands bartending she gets fired immediately when her boss didn't like her attitude even though she was a hit at the bar. So why did she get fired? Well, you can blame Dean Harper for that. Smug, arrogant, and a bit of a jerk Dean Harper immediately had a dislike for the sexy, smart-mouthed Lily. When Dean finds out that Lily is best friends with Jo, who happens to be the girlfriend to his best friend, Julian Lefray, he finds himself being persuaded to hire Lily for an upcoming restaurant project. Lily and Dean are extremely attracted to each other, but they are too stubborn to say and do anything. Also, Lily can't stand Dean and his holy than thou attitude that he's always right. Well as much as they tried to stay away from each other, like a moth to a flame, Lily had to put the theory to a test if rich and powerful men are the best kind of sex. Well one night wasn't enough for these two. Will Lily and Dean be able to separate their emotional feelings from their working relationship?

Ahhh... what can I say but go read THE ALLURE OF DEAN HARPER!!!!!!!!! If you are a fan of enemies to lovers trope, then go one-click this book!! Trust me, R.S. Grey is an evil brilliant clever genius because she will secretly have you addicted to her writing. She puts a fun fresh modern spin on all her stories. I love that she never fails to incorporate pop-culture reference in her books. So if you are looking for a fun, fresh, original charming, witty, and sexy romantic comedy then this book is for you.

Smile inducing from start to finish. Even if oil and vinegar don't mix, these two fiery, head butting characters were delectable to read.

Dean Harper is a driven, controlling, workaholic who is used to getting his way. His goal, to be the best at everything he sets his mind to. His love, New York’s fast pace life full of women that aren’t looking for anything more than no strings attached fun and won’t hinder his efforts to reach the top. What will happen when he meets his take charge, won’t back down from a challenge new employee who will in fact defy him at every turn?
"If I didn’t want to kill her I wanted to possess her. I wanted to seduce her to the brink of madness."

Lily Black didn’t just move to New York to accompany her best friend Jo. She made the change to make a name for herself as a food critic. But while she gets there, her best friend got her a job at her boyfriend’s best friend's restaurant. She's amazing at serving drinks, raking in four times the amount of money made in a normal night at Provisions. But once her confident attitude clashes with the owner’s rude and ornery one, a full on war arises. Will they be able to see beyond their stubbornness to realize that with their combined talents and chemistry they’d be unstoppable and incredibly happy?
"She was a force of nature, a swirling tornado that made me feel weightless and free…”

I met Dean and Lily while reading The Allure of Julian LeFray and was charmed by both, but I also knew this would be a great sparks flying between all the animosity, enemies to lovers read. Lily is an incredibly buoyant, witty, resilient and self-assured woman and a great friend. Dean is sexy, opinionated and insufferably smart and alluring.
“The moment I saw her, adrenaline spiked my veins like my body was preparing for battle. My heart raced and I started to sweat. It wasn’t a reaction I was used to, and as a result, I was reacting the worst way possible: with anger.”

They have so much in common due to their work in the food industry, you’d think they’d be a match made in culinary heaven. But their strong personalities push them to a battle of wills within the first minutes of meeting. However, after their friends coerce them to work together their attraction intensifies to the breaking point which takes them to explosive interactions of epic proportions.
“The sex would be the best of our lives. Angry. Hard. Fast. Not love. Not even close. War.”

R.S. Grey knows how to write stories and characters that make you laugh and swoon. The Allure of Dean Harper is no exception. I loved the pace and character development in this lighthearted, romantic comedy. Everything felt perfectly in place with the precise amount of fun, sass, sexiness and romance.
"She was like a villain, leaving a trail of blood and hints meant to lure me into a trap. A man with a mind for self-preservation would have turned and run. Instead, I pushed through the door and locked it behind me."

Book facts: A full-length standalone romance with interconnection characters from the previous book. Told from both points of view. No cliffhanger. With a happy ending.
"I missed her so much. This. The fiery woman who wasn’t afraid to challenge me every step of the way. She infuriated me, but I’d trade it all to have one more fight with her, one more indignant glare from her bright brown eyes."

I was really looking forward to this book because every time I read something by this author I can always count on having a great time. The Allure of Dean Harper was funny, sexy, and quite the treat of a romantic comedy. This time Ms. Grey delights us with a romance between two pigheaded characters that keep bumping heads with each other until they realize that being right is not as important as falling in love.

“I hate you,” she said through clenched teeth.
I smiled sardonically. “You bring out the worst in me, you know that? I’m only an a**hole around you.”

Lily Black just recently moved to New York city to pursuit her dream of making it into the food industry. She knows it won't be easy but she's more than ready with her having finished culinary/bartending school. Her arrival to the city is a joy for her best friend Josephine but it's a surprise for Dean Harper, Josephine's boyfriend's best friend. Dean is a successful restaurateur in NY who has made of his career his life. He's a determined man used to doing things his own way so when he meets the opinionated and hardhead Lily, it's inevitable that the two of them bump heads over and over when it came to the food business and the way they later on get tangled up together in the story. And their arguments were heated as their fire for each other couldn't be more obvious.

“If only she and I could shut up for ten minutes, the sex would be the best of our lives. Angry. Hard. Fast. Not love. Not even close. War.”

I loved this hate-to-love romance, it was so much fun. There's nothing like two stubborn characters slowly falling for each other while fighting to get the upper hand at every turn. Lily and Dean were such strong characters and I loved that about them as they made me laugh with their banters and nonsense. I particularly loved Lily, she wasn't your typical shy and sweet heroine, instead she was feisty and always went after what she wanted. It was clear she was the prefect girl for Dean, someone who challenged him and finally made him want to pursuit more than just success in life.

“The fiery woman who wasn’t afraid to challenge me every step of the way. She infuriated me, but I’d trade it all to have one more fight with her, one more indignant glare from her bright brown eyes.”

Sexy, lighthearted, and humorous. This story is the perfect read when you want to laugh and have a great time with characters will make you smile BIG! :)

I abso-freaking-lately loved The Alllure of Julian Lefray. I picked up this book release day and dove right in.
The first half of the book was a solid five stars. It was funny, witty, sexy... loved it.
It opens with Lily getting hired on last minute at a hot restaurant in town to bartend. Now Lily is an unbelievably beautiful girl and a spectacular bartender. Suspend reality for a while. She gets an obnoxious customer who happens to be her new boss. Instead of enjoying how much money she's making, he fires her on the spot.
Now I never really liked Dean's control freak ways. You would think he's so interested in being successful he would see how awesome Lily is at what she does. But he literally shuts her down at every turn just because it is her and he doesn't like her. This got to be really old as well as Lily's volatile behavior.
I love when a hero is controlling but let's his guard down and a heroine is strong but let's her vulnerable side show. This book did not follow that recipe and it started to get to be too much. At the point where I started to roll my eyes the author started wrapping up her happily ever after.
The writing was great and fast paced enough that I still ultimately gave it four stars.

I really enjoyed this story. It was funny, well-paced, sexy, with a bit of drama/angst thrown in for good measure. I liked that it didn't drag on like the first book in the series.

It was weird seeing Dean in the role of "jerk" since we first met him in The Allure of Julian LaFrey and in that story he was the funny, charming best friend. This one, we see a different side to him. It was work driven, sexy, a bit of a jerk, yet also protective and charming.

I liked Lily's feistiness, wit, and her will to not give up no matter what's thrown her way. She's tough, yet sweet. I could totally relate to her.

Overall, it was a good story and I'm happy with how it ended.

Oh, Dean Harper...
Seriously, RS Grey can do no wrong in my eyes. She doesn't have a book that I haven't loved and told everyone to read. Dean Harper was no exception. Lily and Dean are different from Jo and Julian in EVERY way. Both are stubborn, hard headed, and sure they don't need anyone. I loved Lily's determination. While she was struggling, she remained strong, but still acknowledged how tough everything was. She didn't seem invincible and I loved that. I love a tough heroine, but I love one who is vulnerable under it all. Its so much more real to me.
And, like all RS Grey books, there is a lot of humor. And what do I love most about it? Its intelligent humor. These characters are all smart and their humor is as well. RS Grey doesn't rely on easy humor. These characters use their brains and come up with some clever retorts. Its the kind of writing I wish more authors did. Strong but vulnerable heroines who aren't afraid to let that vulnerable side show; Whip smart characters; Humor that doesn't appeal to a 12 year old boy.
So, if you want a top notch rom com, Dean Harper is the book! Its okay if you haven't read Julian LeFrey first, but seriously, if you haven't go read that too!!!

I giggled so much throughout reading The Allure Of Dean Harper. We already met Dean and Lily quickly in the previous novel, and I had such a blast getting to know them better. In a way they are a lot alike and that’s why they keep butting heads. Dean is a young, handsome and very successful restaurateur, and normally Lily would love to work for or with a guy like that as she wants to make a career in the restaurant business. So despite having a lot in common, some misplaced words and a bad attitude is the start of a beautiful love/hate relationship.

The thing is that they do have best friends in common, so getting along would be best, and most of the time I wouldn’t give that happening a fifty percent change. They are constantly at each other throat, and underneath there is this sexual tension brewing, nearly electric. I freaking loved their bantering, and their battle of wills. So damn entertaining, and funny.

There are a couple of surprises that made this extra refreshing, and the pace is fast, keeping you on the tip of your toes with these two. The Allure of Dean Harper was an excellent and charming romantic comedy. I adored every second of it.

The Allure of Dean Harper is the latest standalone by R.S. Grey. It's second to The Allure of Julian Lefray but reads easily by itself. R.S. Grey does romantic comedy so well, this book was a joy to read

"Why is it customary for men to buy women drinks when they want to get in their pants? You know what will drop my pants? Crunchy tuna rolls."

Lily is brand new to New York City and looking to make a name for herself in the highly competitive upscale restaurant industry. Her career may be cut short before it even starts when she meets Dean Harper for the first time.

Dean is determined to take over the New York  food scene one restaurant at a time. After reluctantly agreeing with his best friend Julian Lefray to hire Lily as a consultant, his work life is much more tense than he's used to.

"She was a force of nature , a swirling tornado that made me feel weightless and free one minute, and slammed into a tree trunk at 130 miles per hour the next."

I truly adored this book. Dean and Lily had so much chemistry and tension it made for a hilarious ride. The Allure of Dean Harper is sexy, sweet and absolutely recommended.

Reviewing on behalf of Relentless book chic’s ramblings and reviews

If you want a story that’s fun, will make you laugh, has a strong female character and a sexy, hot-headed male that you can devour in a few hours, this is definitely the book for you.

Lily Black is sassy and strong minded and doesn’t take crap from anyone, especially men and this is something Dean Harper will find out. To say they don’t hit it off straight away is an understatement and it’s made more awkward by the fact that Lily’s friend Jo, who she’s staying with is dating Dean’s friend Julian(from The Allure of Julian Lefray)and they bump into each other frequently which always end up in an argument.

As the saying goes, there’s a thin line between love and hate and what starts as a hostile working relationship, soon turns into something that neither wanted or expected and they both have to deal with it and decide what they really want out of life.

I always love reading a book by Rachel as I know the characters will be loveable and I know I won’t want to put it down till it’s finished.
I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the next in the series.

I just absolutely adore R.S. Grey's writing style.
Her ability to make the Heroines of her story somebody I would actually want to be friends with is shocking, actually. I normally tend to not like a lot of the heroines in stories but she makes that statement harder and harder to say with each release.

This book has some extreme angst and pent up sexual tension but it also has some great chemistry, a reminder of pursuing your dreams does not have to take a back seat to love and that friends make this world a place worth living in.
Dean was funny in The Allure of Julian Defray and I was interested in his story. Sexy, successful and a bit self centered. I loved every minute of it.

Lily is so sassy and a take no prisoners type of chick. She has easily become one of my favorites. I love girls who will fight for what the want. I so enjoyed her friendship with Jo, but the love/hate for Dean was perfect. He was so needing to be brought down a notch.

This romantic comedy was the perfect read for me. I enjoy laughing and smiling a lot more than crying. Thank you R. S. Grey for reminding me that falling in love can be so amazing. This book is definitely one that I will tell all my friends about and a perfect book club/wine club read.

The Allure of Dean Harper just recently released and I couldn't wait read it. Author R.S. Grey is just such a great writer.

Loved Lily. She was funny, sarcastic and stubborn. And I loved Lily and Jo's relationship. They were great feeding off each other. Because of their close friendship, as a read who LOVED Jo's story, we got to see more of Jo.

I also loved Dean, he was successful, nice and protective. And again, because of this closeness with Julian, we got more Julian. Yay! But I didn't quite love the Dean and Lily relationship. They just hated each other. Right from the start. And then BAM they are sleeping together. I kind of felt like something important, what maybe drew them ultimately together, was just missing.

But, the story was simple and really fun. I really liked there there wasn't really any heavy messaging. I didn't love this book as much as Julian Lefray, but it was really enjoyable and I'd suggest it to ANYONE looking for a fun and quick romance read.

Such a fun, witty and refreshing read! Dean and Lily may act like they’re ready for war, but you wouldn’t want them any other way. Their banter, their passion are what make them impossible to ignore. I could not stop reading, I was just waiting with bated breath to see what would happen next with this couple. They were so much fun to read about, this anything but ordinary and lovey dovey couple was fueled by passion for food and each other.
This book was perfection!

The title should probably the Jerk That is Dean Harper. He doesn't have many redeeming qualities until the end. Chemistry is a funny thing and there's a thin line between love and hate. Lily and Dean are oil and water from the start. The arguments are sometimes funny, sometimes cruel.
Lily has just moved to NY from TX, to start a career in the restaurant industry and live with her best friend. Dean is a restaurateur, is demanding, bossy and happens to be friends with Lilys best friend.

OMG I love Lily she is hilarious and straight forward. Her attitude and the knowledge of drinks is so funny and to shove that in Dean Harpers face is even better. Dean Harper is cocky thinks he doesn't need anyone to tell him how to run his company's. But when he runs into Lily at one of his places the sparks fly but so does his mouth. These two are full of spunk and their chemistry is threw the roof. Lily needs a job now that she has moved she knows how to mix drinks and had a degree. She knows who Dean Harper is because he is the best friend to her best friends hottie spouse. When Lily get's hire by the tail between his legs Dean things will start to change. She's protective of herself and will not allow him to push her over. He will push everyone of her buttons and enjoy doing it. But when push comes to shove who will come out on top? Opening a new restaurant is Dean's goal and with the help of his team he is hoping it runs smoothly, but betrayal is a bitch and you will never guess what happens next.

The Allure of Dean Harper is a fun, sweet Romance with plenty of laughs! If you’re looking for a humorous romance with a hot arrogant jerk who melts your heart, then get ready to meet Dean Harper. In this story, he’s our brooding Mr. Darcy and Lily is our smart, fiery heroine.

As a first time reader of R.S. Grey, I was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining the storyline was. The characters were well developed and the dialogue had me laughing throughout the night. Grey mixes the perfect balance of angst and humor between Dean & Lily. I even found myself racing through some of the scenes to see them together again. Kudos to R.S. Grey for writing such a wonderful story!

Note: If you’re looking for detailed sex scenes, you won’t find them here. Grey’s scenes are HOT, but most of them fade to black.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this fun, lovable story. It’s well-written, engaging, and Dean Harper definitely makes a great new book boyfriend!

The Allure of Dean Harper begins when Lily moves to New York to continue her dreams of working in the food industry and living with her best friend. But her best friend has a new boyfriend, and isn't around much. And when they all think that Dean Harper will give Lily a job things start out not so great between them.

However, when neither one of them can deny the attraction between them things start to get even more complicated. Especially when more feelings get involved, and things go crazy.

This book was really good! I liked it better than the first one, mainly because I adored Lily. Although, I felt Dean was a major jerk for most of the book, I ended up liking him as well.
This one has a great story line, lots of humor, and some sexy good times.

The only downside to the book was I felt like there just wasn't enjoy about Lily and Dean's feelings till the very end.
Other wise it was very enjoyable, and I loved it!

I love these books! They have my favorite kind of humor...sarcastic. They have my favorite kind of romance...all encompassing. And they have my favorite heroines...the strong, confident ones.
Our heroine is bringing her training and education in cooking and restaurants to the Big City. She has contacts, too. Easy Peasy. Enter the alpha male who clashes with her alpha female. Excellent story! Lots of hot romance. Wonderful characters.

***WARNING*** this book is hilarious, do not read in public!!!!
What a refreshing read this brilliantly funny book is. With so many 'romance' books filled with angst it was so good to have a good laugh for a change.
RS Grey never lets her readers down, I knew before starting this book that we would be given a sassy, beautiful female lead and a sexy alpha male. But I have come to expect so much more from her stories and I have not been left disappointed. The Witty banter and one liners between the 2 main characters is hilarious and the situations that Lily finds herself in had me in stitches.
We are also given an added bonus of Josephine and Julian popping up frequently in the story as a Dean and Lily's BFF's. (If you haven't read 'The allure of Julian LeFray' why not?).
I can honestly say I did not want this story to end. But I have been left with fond memories and a book I can re-read if I need a good laugh out loud story

I absolutely devoured this book in ONE sitting. I was hooked from the very first word until the very last and even then I was sorry to see the story was over. I fell head over heels with this series after reading The Allure of Julian Lefray and couldn't wait to dive in to this one. While you do not need to read book one, there are overlapping characters and you would seriously be missing out on a great book. Dean and Lily are off the charts!! So smoking hot and the hate sex was AMAZING! I love the witty banter and fighting. I loved that they both were very strong willed characters which made for some hilariously funny arguments and smoking hot sex. I really would love to see this series continue and I am thinking that Zoe needs a book. This was just what I needed and it got me out of a book funk. I ignored all other life in general and could not put it down.

5 Stars

This was a little shorter than The Allure Of Julian Lefray, but it didn't feel like stuff was left out. I almost wish Julian and Jo's story timeline would've been more like this one.

Dean and Lily were so much like each other! Both stubborn, opinionated, and good at what they did. They're arguments weren't negative like in some books where it just gets annoying by how much they bicker. They hooked up a little quick I felt like, but then they went back to boss and employee and played around still.

I liked the little snippets with Julian and Jo as well. And I thought it was kind of cute how Lily relied on her relationship with Julian while at work since she didn't know anyone. All of them were a fun group of friends!

Did wish it didn't end so quick! I wanted to see Lily and Dean's dynamic change now that they're in a relationship -- they seemed to soften a little, but still kind of tease one another.

It had promise, but despite how funny and feisty Lily is, this book couldn't seem to get past neutral. There was a SERIOUS lack of romance between the two leads, heck there wasn't even passion between them. There's so much arguing, bickering and hate filled resentment and disrespect throughout the book between Lily and Dean, yet readers are expected to forget all that and seriously imagine that two anger fueled sexual encounters lead them to fall in love. Seriously? Sorry R.S. Grey I'm just not buying it, of all your books I've read thus far, this wasn't your best work, sadly it could have been great, even the sex scenes lacked fire, they were so boring to read. Meh!

I liked that these two main characters did not like each other at first and how she gave him back his own, but it was not all the time, so it did not get overboard. Also, she brought in the characters from her book before into this one, so you knew what was going on with her. I am not sure I like how she ends her books, it just seems like it just cuts off all of a sudden, maybe it is just that I am not used to that.

I loved these two characters. We are introduced to them in The Allure of Julian LeFray.

Both of these characters are stubborn, strong leads. We have Dean who is an arrogant, cocky a**hole and Lily is a strong, spunky, sassy, firecracker. The banter between these two is spot on. The way the two of them went head to head was enough angst. The chemistry is explosive! I swooned over Dean Harper!

I was smiling and laughing through the entire book. It had just enough angst and just enough sexy. It's a must read for anyone wanting a funny, feel good, humorous, sweet romance.

What happens when these two are forced to throw up the white flags and try to come to some kind of truce so that they can work together without killing each other? One Click it to find out!

You meet Dean Harper in The Allure of Julian Lefray and I liked him immediately. I was glad to see he had his own book. Lily was a little too pushy at times but mainly I enjoyed her chutzpah. This enemies to lovers story is a fun ride. Plus you get to see Julian and Josephine from the Lefray story again. Just finished Anything You can DO by Grey and really liked that one too.

Enjoyed this book. I always love the enemies to lovers trope. Julian and Lily were a good pair and their banter was mostly fun. My only issue was how Julian was portrayed at times. He came off a bit too much of a jerk occasionally making me wonder if he even deserved an HEA. Since that was only a few times and the rest of the story was good, it still earned four stars.

I love this book love the challenging of each character and the witty funny comments that come out often sometimes I would just burst out laughing over just the most random stuff but it was very good enjoyed it quite well. Even though the first one mr. Moneybags was still my favorite. And I suggest that you're going to read it, you start with Mister Money bags and then go to the Allure of Dean Harper which is the second book

R.S. Grey never disappoints! I love all her books. The female characters are always smart, sassy and serious fun to be around! I want to be beasties with all her female leads and their best friends. I downloaded this book right at midnight on release day because, hello...a new R.S. Grey book is here!!! There is no time for sleep when that happens! It was a great read but always seem too short because her books are so great that I never want them to end. Lily and Dean were two strong, stubborn personalities but the sassy banter was fun to read. Some of the situations had me laughing out loud. I loved how much Josephine and Julian were included throughout this book. The two books seemlessly ran together. Can't wait for your next book R.S. Grey!

My lifestyle and social media addiction (I'm not too proud to admit it!) makes it extremely difficult to find time to read.

I read this book in a day.

I devoured Julian and Jo's story. Dean and Lily's was no different!

I loved their first interactions, I adored Lily's sass behind the bar and with everyone - her strength and bravery is something to be in awe of - and I thrived on the banter and back-and-forth between our two protagonists.

Dean came across very gruff and typically male but I soon warmed to him when he became protective over Lily.

From the first page to the last this was full of humour, friendship, emotion and downright sexual tension.

I read the previous book, The Allure of Julian Lefray, and was looking forward to Lily's story. The Allure of Dean Harper wasn't as enjoyable as the previous book. Parts of it were interesting but it fell flat for me. There weren't really any feels radiating off Lily and Dean. Like other books from the author, the ending was rushed.

RS Grey, are you reading this?! Please please for the love of everything sacred in this world, beef up your sex scenes. Your books are funny, interesting and have strong smart heroines. My fave type of book...EXCEPT you basically leave the sex out! More more more please! It would be nice to get to know your characters more intimately.
Please RateThe Allure of Dean Harper
