I guess a book this entertaining used to be called a page turner. I couldn't begin to guess what a journey Noah and his mother went on to find out what was wrong with him. All the characters were real and human. Noah's story and the other stories of reincarnation were fascinating.

Beautiful timing and smooth narrative kept this reader's interest. The author's skillful blending of magical realism with a consideration of the unknowable was convincing enough to prompt me to research. The author layers character sketch and tension development nicely. I have to admit I broke one of my reading rules and flipped to the end prematurely . I immediately returned to my place and completed the pages in sequence. Nice recommendation from another avid reader.

Great! This was so well written and such an interesting subject. I loved it! It will pull you in from the first page. The characters are well developed. I'll be thinking about his book for a long time. I think it would be of interest to anyone who has an interest in reincarnation, but even if you don't, it presents its subject in such a compelling and well written way that the book will still be a good read.

I have always been interested in reincarnation and why we lose a child's ability to accept things we cannot prove, see past the surface, and believe in our subconscious feelings. This book reawakened the need to meditate, live life in the moment and be open to things beyond our control or understanding. A beautiful story filled with love, loss, acceptance and wonder.

I found the storyline to be compelling, changing as it did between the perspectives of the central characters with occasional insertions from other works and true case histories. The author was excellent with her words, expressions, and storylines - far above what I'd expect in a first novel. Hated to see it end and may read it again, I enjoyed it that much.

I was immediately hooked! I havve always been intrigued by the concept of reincarnation and the web in which our lives are woven. I loved the characters and the connection and inclusion of a friend and fellow health care professional's research and book.

First, the writing is superb. Guskin has woven a unique story with terrific characters. The first half of the book is amazing and I was unable to put it down. The end was a little preachy and overblown. Still, highly recommended.

I loved the story. The thought of remembering past lives is riveting and compelled me to continue reading the first half of the book despite feeling disconnected from the characters. However once Denise was introduced the heart of the book developed into a wonderful read, deserving at least 4 stars.

Absolutely loved everything about this book. It caught my total attention from beginning to end. This is one of those stories that will stay with you long after you've finished it. Wonderful read! Haunting!

I really enjoyed this book. Excellent writing makes the prospect of reincarnation believable. For me it went on to far at the end but perhaps it's good for a book to occasionally leave one with all questions answered.

I absolutely adored this novel. I took a chance on it after reading the other reviews and I'm glad I did. I will be eagerly awaiting Sharon Guskin to release another book. No one is asking the reader to suspend their beliefs in the afterlife... regardless of your opinions on reincarnation, you will fall in love with these characters and your heart will feel larger by the last page. I finished this book in three days.

I couldn't put this book down! The characters are full and memorable, and the story itself is original and well developed. Guskin has a great talent for description and brings characters' personalities and thought processes to life. The story is one of those rare treats that makes you truly think about the connections between mankind and the mysteries of life. I can't wait for Guskin's next book!

Interesting concept and storyline. The first half was a bit too wordy and difficult to get into, but as soon as we started to get some more depth on the characters and action, the book really picked up. I enjoyed the read.

I agree completely with advid reader's assessment of this novel. I was very excited to read this After the striking reviews and then .. Everything fell flat .. The blurbs in the middle of the chapters about people who have been "reincarnated " absolutely drove me crazy. If I don't believe in something it usually doesn't affect my evaluation of a book but it seems so silly to me like ok well I like Lima beans and I know that in another life I was hit by a car poof I'm so and so from India .. I'm generalizing but the way it is put in as simple fact was irritating. I was actually much more interested in the Drs increasing dementia, I found that far more readable than the main event. I had been on a winning streak with great books. This one broke it.

The topic was really intriguing and the characters were pretty well developed. I didn't especially care for the main character, Janie, as I didn't find her relatable or interesting. I also felt like the last 60 pages of the book could have been cut entirely. I read this for book club and it didn't spur near as much discussion as usual.

Riviting writing that held me spellbound and intrigued the entire time. I must admit, I had hoped that the plot had taken the expected event of the father being discovered as the doctor and a happier ending, but none the less the writer wrapped my interest and heart into the characters

Fascinating story leaving much to speculate about the possibility of remembering past lives and how that can affect a current life. It also brought up moral and psychological dilemmas as well as challenging resistance to believing in past lives. Great to read it was based on actual studies with children.

The subject matter of the story captured my interest. Well-written and performed by excellent readers. I switched between audible and kindle and was happily distracted from a busy time. The depiction of the mother-child interactions were tender and real. Recommend!

I had to give The Forgetting Time five stars because I love it. I started recommending it to friends before I'd even finished the sample - I was hooked that quickly! I stayed hooked until the very end. Great book!!!

It was a percent fictional story! It was mysterious, kind, sad, and full of love. I wasn't sure I was going to like it but once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I recommend it. Reincarnation is not a common topic for a book.

This novel has one contemplating the idea of reincarnation through a moving realistic story. The characters are relatable, the settings are genuine, and the story riveting.
The only negative would be that the tale seemed to go on too long. It wraps up nicely, but readers will feel a moment when it could have ended earlier.

Intriguing theory that some of us have previous lives that we remember when we're small children but start to forget as we get older. This book is from the mother's viewpoint and clearly describes the conflict of loving your child while he misses his "other mother" and wants to find her.

A challenging subject, beautifully told in a story that spans the ages. An emotional roller coaster, bringing the reader through fear, frustration, helplessness, but always touching love. Well done!

The title was fascinating

When I was very young I had nightmares every night
And I can still remember them. My parents told me I stopped screaming around 3 years old
I will recommend this book to all.

Intense and riveting! I couldn't put it down and it may have helped me reconcile some of my feelings about death. Maybe not true or probable but comforting and disturbing at the same time. Certainly, thought provoking!!!

I loved the subject matter and story line. I bought the Kindle edition and was confused by some words until I realised that, quite a few times, and words beginning with fi or fl were missing those letters! re instead of fire, yers instead of flyers, rst - first etc. May be a Kindle formatting error? Other than that, I would definitely recommend this book

First novel? Really? Awesome!! Well written, thought provoking, with just the right amount of tension. All the characters were believable and I cared about them. A little scattered at the end, but it was one of the most enjoyable books I've read all year. I think it would make a great movie.

Such a thought provoking read, written well, and fully believable. If we still had water coolers, this is the book that everyone would want to talk about while gathered around it. Highly recommended.

Captivating story that will make you think...and think and think...about the possibilities that there's a connection bigger than the life you see before you. Even if you have zero interest (or belief) in reincarnation, the overall story is great and the anecdotal examples of inexplicable childhood experiences are fascinating. Great read.
