Fun, sexy and sweet. A delightful and heartfelt story about loss, hope and love that lived up to its title giving me the warm and fuzzies.

Georgie Archibald couldn’t say no to her mother’s relentless attempts at marrying her off. So instead of doing so she decides to leave London with a long list of requisites to a random destination in her own search for a husband. When she arrives at Vernazza, Italy what she finds is a grouchy, closed off loner so gorgeous it’s almost painful to look at him. Can she coax him out of his shell and find herself in the process?
"He’d like to have a good laugh… Oh! Most importantly, he'd be open and ready for love-without a ton of baggage-"
Massimo tossed his napkin on the table and leaned back. "That rules out Luca."

After losing the love of his life Gianluca couldn’t fathom ever being happy again much less fall in love. But when the firecracker from London comes barreling into his life full of energy, disregarding his high walls, cantankerous attitude and with ideas of remodeling his family’s dilapidated bed and breakfast it’s impossible for him not to fall into her vortex. But can he let go of the past before she gives up on him?

R.S. Grey’s books are irresistible. Her characters are magnetic, her stories have as much emotional depth as they do comedy, the dialogue is witty and the attraction is delicious. A Place in the Sun’s execution is brilliant and the delivery lovely. R.S. Grey made me fall in love with Vernazza, its inhabitants and surroundings as much as I fell for the infectious Georgie and the very appealing Luca and their story so full of humor, romance, warmth and sexiness.

A Place in the Sun is a standalone contemporary romance by R.S. Grey. It’s a beautiful story with witty, tender and sexy must read for rom-com lovers. Told from both points of view. With a happy ending

I love it completely! This book stole all my attention from beginning to end. It is so bright, cheerful, and at the same time carries sizable emotional charge. I don't think, I quickly forget my new favorite heroine Georgie Archibald.

About the plot: Georgie is twenty-six years old, but her mother claims that she is already a spinster. She arranges blind dates for her, but no one attracted Georgie's attention. Determined to take her love life into her own hands, she escapes to Italy to find a husband herself. She ends up in the picturesque village, Vernazza. But with Georgie, it's never so easy. She collapses on the square, and to her rescue must come two men.

After awkward situation when she wakes up, her eye immediately catches a beautiful stranger, Gianluca. She tries to meet him again, but even when it will happen he is not interested. Gianluca has a past that haunts him and he doesn't pay attention to a lot of things. But Georgie wouldn't be herself, if it would stopped her. She is intrigued and trying to befriend him anyway.

Final thoughts: I didn't know about this at the beginning but it's about Georgie, Frederick Archibald's sister form The Summer Games: Settling the Score. I loved her already, and I really wanted to read a book about her. What a surprise, I just had it in my hands. My joy knew no bounds. Maybe it's why I love it so much. Or because it simply is hilarious!

In a sense, it is a hate to love story. He wasn't an easy case but thanks to this it was refreshing and unique. And it gave a great playing field for our heroine. I have to admit I have a crush on her. She has a colorful soul and is full of optimism. Determined, stubborn, outspoken, cheerful. I can go on and on.

I laughed so many times, I could quote these texts for hours. Definitely you shouldn't read this outside, because convulsive laughter are guaranteed. Well, unless don't embarrass you strange looks from people, you can always take the example of Georgie. It certainly wouldn't stop her.

So far you can think that Gianluca is a jerk. He was maybe a little, but then rewarded it a hundred times. I love how they develop friendship and then love. Their exchanges were hilarious.

And then the sexual tension reached its peak. Excellently written bedroom scenes. It was sinfully hot but also romantic. It also has an emotional side. His past and what they have to go through to really be together, can squeeze a small tear or two. It is more complex than just a trip after love.

This whole book is that, what you think, when you imagine Italy. Hot summer, wine, gelato, fun, beach, and friends. Dreamy sigh. It also has everything what you're looking for in a romantic comedy. A huge number of funny scenes and situations, bold heroine, romantic-looking hero. It guarantees a lot of smile through the whole book. I highly recommend it.

The words that describe it: Hot, emocional, awesome heroine, laught out laught, hate to love, romantic comedy, standalone, Italy!

... I needed to put some boundaries between us -
rather large boundaries, it seems, like the Alps and the English Channel.

Have you ever just wanted to try on a new city for size? How about a whole different country? I have had this dream before, and Georgie clearly needed some space too. Georgie has been in the shadow of her two older brothers, one is an Olympic Gold medalist swimmer, the other was to be Duke of their estate. After family tragedy, scandal, and ultimately the marriage of her brother, Georgie's mother decided to fill her time trying to get Georgie to marry a proper British man. Georgie being the family jester and would do anything to try and support her mother and keep her happy, had gone along with every set-up and blind date. Finally, Georgie had enough and decided to disappear to another country in hopes to find some hot men all on her own.

Georgie decides that the remote seaside town of Vernazza, Italy is going to be her destination of choice. Georgie is hilarious and a force to be reckoned with...she wants adventure, but she also is lost in her dream world of what her dream man should be like. She can't seem to shake the first man she met once she arrived in Vernazza. Gianluca, is a brooding yet gorgeous man, that has made himself unavailable to all the girls who desire him after a tragic past has caused him too much pain. But Georgie sees Luca as someone who was willing to love so hard core that means he is capable of loving someone like that again -- Challenge Accepted.

Luca despises Georgie's ideas, but Georgie wants to be business partners too. Luca reluctantly decides to go along, after much persuasion, to reopen up his Nonna's bed and breakfast. Of course this means spending a lot of time together, fixing the crumbling place up. Georgie talks herself right into them being friends and eventually lovers. I loved tearing down walls metaphor both literally and physically between these two. As they worked on restoring Luca's family business in the heart of the village, Georgie worked her way into the heart of Luca. He didn't know he was capable of loving again, and Georgie wasn't sure this was her future, but she knew she never been more at home than when she was in Vernazza and with Luca.

As per usual with R.S. Grey, her writing has some of the best side characters who make this story unforgettable. This time you can add in the location as another main character. The scenes, the background, the desire to travel, it was all rolled up perfectly into this brilliant romance. I think I want to hike between seaside towns of the Cinque Terre, eat fresh picked strawberries on the beach, and devour all the gelato in Italy. I was whisked away into this setting and I honestly think I have found a new destination on my must visit list!

All in all, this was a hilarious and torturous romance! It was such a slow burn, but the payoff was worth it! I adore the enemies to lovers stories, but what I love more than anything else is romantic comedies, and this was both. This book definitely had that trademark laugh out loud scenes that you have come to expect with R.S. Grey's works as well as scorching hot romance. A Place in the Sun is the perfect romantic story about finding yourself and taking chances in one of the least expected places.

PS. I now want to eat all the gelato in Italy.

★★ 4.5 stars! ★★

I loved meeting Georgie in her brother’s book, Settling the Score and I couldn’t wait to read more about her. I was hoping to see her come into her own, out of the shadow of Freddie's success. A Place in the Sun is exactly that for Georgie, both a journey into independence and learning to take life by the reigns. Georgie is spunky, adorable, kind, and certainly a pint-sized force to be reckoned with. She’s a refreshing take on a modern heroine and I found her story quite delightful.

After being set up on multiple (and horrible) blind dates by her mother, Georgie is ready to set out on her own to find a husband. Armed with a map and a general idea of where she is going, Georgie lands in Vernazza, Italy. She literally stumbles into the beautiful man she is destined to fall in love with.

Gianluca is a reclusive jack-of-all-trades who lives in Vernazza. After a life-changing loss, which he is still mourning five years later, Luca is not looking to fall in love again. All he knows is that Georgie is magnetic and captivating and he can’t stay away from her. Their relationship forces him to reevaluate his life and make positive, healing changes.

I have read several of RS Grey’s books and I can honestly say that this is my favorite so far. There is a noticeable maturity in the writing and the story flows so well. It combines humor and heart in a story about discovering yourself and finding happiness. The location, the food, the wine are all to-die-for and the characters are sweetly flawed and charmingly realistic—and I was captivated by every bit of it!

Sure it took a few chapters to lay the foundation, however A Place in the Sun is a nice, solid romance that keeps you on your toes the entire time. It's one of those books where at some point you are irritated with both leading characters and want them to just go away, but not really.

Georgie comes off as a spoiled rich girl looking to bide her time until the "perfect" man comes along to marry her. She's a bit of a woe is me character and it took a few pages for me to actually like or sympathize with her. The girl grows on ya though, something fierce.

Gianluca was an ass. A complete and utter ass from the second he appears in the story. That said, there is a dark cloud surrounding him and I couldn't wait to see what was hidden in his past to make him so anti-social. It ends up being heartbreaking and instantly gives him a pass in my book.

With the fortitude Georgie possesses, you can see Gianluca doesn't stand a chance, no matter how tall the walls around his heart are. He's like a scared puppy when it comes right down to it. I couldn't read fast enough to see how/if things were even going to work out for these two. The angst is at an all time high, with a pretty predictable twist towards the end, however I liked what was done with it.

The book is well written from dual points of view and the review vague to protect the various storylines. R.S. Grey gives her readers a sweet and sexy love story featuring the guy next door to Samantha in the Sex and the City movie (in my opinion) and a whole lot more. We get a few supporting characters for added humor and a nice epilogue to complete the tale of Georgie and Gianluca.

I fell in love with Georgie in, The Summer Games: Settling The Score. I was beyond excited that R.S.Grey was giving her, her own book. Georgie was just as witty and charming, in this book and I completely adored her.

In A Place In The Sun she travels to Italy to find love. It's there that she crosses paths with a handsome, Gianluca. Only problem is, is that he's not looking for love. Georgie being Georgie, she's determined to change his mind and she isn't holding back.

"Joke's on you, pal. Bread only makes me stronger."

Hahaha I loved her inner dialogue!!

To win Gianluca's affection, Georgie offers ( okay maybe "offers" is a little too subtle) to help him remodel the bed and breakfast, he owned. She figured if they spent time together, he'd open up to her, fingers crossed, maybe even fall in love with her.

I became smitten with Georgie and Gianluca, during the renovation process.
I loved that the setting took place in Italy. It gave the story a romantic scenery.

My heart ached for Gianluca's loss, my heart broke for Georgie, when she realized he may never move on from it.

"To me, Gianluca was the sun."

I cried! ( Mad at Grey!)

Still, Georgie was no quitter, she never gave up on Gianluca. By the end of the book I was crying again, but they were happy tears. R.S.Grey wrapped up their love story perfectly.( I love Grey, again)

Their story was sweet and funny and I would definitely recommend all my book babes read it.

Another excellent romantic comedy from one of my new favorite authors! Georgie, a wealthy English woman, is escaping her mother’s incessant matchmaking by fleeing to the beautiful seaside village of Vernazza, Italy. After hours of traveling she arrives to the picturesque village and promptly faints in the middle of town covered in hours worth of sweat and vomit from motion sickness. When she wakes, the sight of the gorgeous Gianluca may have made the trip worthwhile.

I’m fanning myself thinking of Gianluca. Wow! He was something special. From his dimples to his sun tanned perfectly muscled body, he was exactly what I would picture the perfect Italian man to be, baggage and all. And he really did have some major baggage. Five years prior he lost his wife to cancer, and has since completely cut himself off emotionally from the world. Especially women. I loved that Georgie was the only one not willing to treat him with kid gloves. Which was what he needed. A reality b*tch slap if you will. It was a pleasure to watch his transformation from village grump (that all of the women were in love with), to the happy, charming man he was underneath all of the sadness.

Georgie had a personality that just drew everyone around her. Beautiful and genuine, she was an easy heroine to like. It was also easy to see how she fell so in love with Gianluca, and was willing to take whatever she could get from him. Sometimes love will have you putting up with things that you’re logical side would never normally. The journey to find happiness for both of them is wrought with soul crushing heartache, but the promise of a love to last and heal will be what keeps them tethered together.

Loved this book! Would absolutely recommend! It’s also free with Kindle Unlimited, so grab your copy today.

HEA, duel POV, no cheating, no triggers.

“…why on Earth are you in Italy” “To find love, of course.”

And to fall in love she did…

R.S. Grey brings her signature combination of sweet, funny and sexy, adding a touch of magic and allowing us to live vicariously through Georgie as she falls in love in Vernazza. A charming romance that will leave you wanting to pack your bags and book a flight to Vernazza, Italy.

Tired of her mother controlling her love life, Georgie Archibald decides It was time for a change, so she packs her bags leaving all behind and going after what she really wants. LOVE, that gut-clenching, swoony kind od romance you only find in books, that’s what she is looking for.

And that’s how she ended in Vernazza, Italy with her heart on a platter ready to fall in love.

Vivacious, Beautiful & Brave. Those are the words I would use to describe Georgie Archibald. Not to fall in love with her was impossible. She’s so full of life that she makes you feel it as well. I applaud her courage to leave it all behind and follow her heart. Sometimes a girl just want to get away from the pressure of getting married, to break the chains and find her own path.

“He was romantic looking, the sort of man who breathes passion into life without even trying.”

When Georgie first arrives to Vernazza, she finds herself feeling a little dizzy. This is when Gianluca comes into her life as a kind of knight in shining armor and helps her with the remnants of her motion sickness. With just one look at him, Georgie finds herself hold hostage by him. He feels like a new day, a new beginning. But sometimes even the brightest new day can get a little darker.

Still mourning the loss of his wife, Gianluca is not up for any kind of relationship. So keep Georgie at arm’s length, even if he finds her attractive, is the right thing to do. The last thing he wants is to break her heart.

I do love Luca. Just like Georgie I got myself trapped in his web but that didn't stop me to want to cut off his dick at some point. I get that he was still lost in the past but there was one moment in particular when I wanted to sacrifice him to the god of a$sh*les because really, you never tell that kind of stuff to a girl you may or may not love….like ever. Apart from that, I love him! LOL.

“…our minds were slaves to caution, but our bodies were free.”

Gianluca’s emotional baggage didn't stop Georgie to go after him. No matter how many times he pushed her away, she always came back for more!

Their journey from friendship to love was everything and a little bit more. The author let you experience how these two come to care for each other. The deeper Georgie falls, the more concerned you will become for her.

Will Gianluca break her heart?

Will she be able to pull him out of his past?

A Place In The Sun is not just another hot sexy love story, it’s also about second chances, about coming to terms with loss and finding the strength to move on and face the future.

Thank you, R.S. Grey for another lovely reading :)

“Why on Earth are you in Italy?” “To find love, of course.”

R.S. Grey has delivered a wondrous whimsical story filled with loss, tragedy, love and redemption. The humor that you have come to know and expect from this author is still there in spades, I found myself laughing out loud (possibly looking like a crazy person to my poor husband who was sitting and trying to read his own book) and smiling early and often. I hadn’t read a single thing about this story before I went in, so I was so happy to get to reconnect with some of my other favorite RS Grey characters.

“I was drunk as a clam. Or was it happy as a clam? Let’s just say I was an inebriated mollusk having a good time.”

The writing is light and beautiful despite the occasional emotional subject matter. The descriptions of Italy, of the sea and gorgeous views will surely make you want to hop on a plane and become a nomad yourself. I found the gradual relationship between Luca and Georgie to be lovely, I admired her spirit and tenacity and fell for his brooding demeanor. Georgie is everything you could want from a leading lady, she’s a rambunctious chatter box with a heart of gold. She’s exasperating and hilarious, and it’s hard not to root for her. Gianluca is every single girl dreams up when she envisions a hunky Italian man, he’s intense and strong and effortlessly handsome. Despite his resistance to change or move on, I found it impossible not to fall in love with him and yearn for him to whisk me away to his villa on top of the hill.

“I never intended to fall in love again. I never imagined I’d have a reason to move on, and when you came along, I wasn’t prepared. I didn’t know how to handle you. You were… a lot to take in at once. I tried to keep my wall up, but you blew right past it.”

If you are a fan of RS Grey, you will surely adore this book. This one felt like it would be a perfect beach read, great for pulling out on under the sun while having a gorgeous sunset as your backdrop as you sip wine and read this book. It definitely made me feel like I was on vacation, eager to sunbathe and laugh with my new Italian friends. Don’t miss out on this romantic story of lovers, laughter, and quaint towns in exotic locations.

“To be in love with someone is to live inside them.”

R.S. Grey has this talent for transporting her readers to the setting of her story. She crafts such vivid settings I just want to hop on a plane an go. Unfortunately, I can't because broke college kid but I digress. I devoured APITS in one sitting, just like all of other R.S. Grey books I've read.

Georgie Archibald is the beloved sister to Freddie, from The Summer Games: Settling the Score, who stole the hearts of the readers with her witty charm. Now, she's traded in Rio and London for Italy, to escape her mother's matchmaking. Ever since Freddie settled down with Andie their mother has honed in all her time into Georgie's love life. Or lack there of. So, she's decided she's going to get out of London and find a man herself. And if she happens to consume her body weight in gelato than that's okay too.

Gianluca is Georgie's opposite in almost every way. Where Georgie is loud and a people person, Luca is withdrawn, grumpy, and wanting to be alone. He has trouble getting close to people and doesn't allow himself to fall for another woman. He's been letting his past control his future so he gets thrown for a loop when Georgie shows up with his plan to save his family's inn, the one that's falling apart.

A girl's got to work and if she's working with Luca than bonus points for Georgie because even if they're opposites, there's a level of attraction Georgie doesn't know what to do with.

This book was fun, flirty, and had it's romantic moments. Unfortunately for me, the central conflict of the story, which I'm not telling you because spoilers are evil, was kind of cliche and took away from Georgie and Luca's story as they started to fall for each other. However, other than that, I really liked the book. R.S. Grey's writing is different, but still very much hers. I've been reading her books this entire year and can really see her writing evolving with each book which has me already excited for her next one!

If you love romantic comedies, with a sweeter side of humor, foreign places and the men who live there, and gelato than you don't want to miss A Place in the Sun.

When authors write romance, I feel like they are trying to achieve what R.S. Grey just accomplished with A Place in the Sun.  I could not put this book down—it was everything!  A beautiful location- check, likeable characters- check, slow build- check, drama without being overly dramatic- check, happily ever after- check! This book touched on all of my favorite things in a novel.  I absolutely love British characters because their way of speaking is so intriguing and fun for me to read or listen to, and I can’t get enough of European locations, especially ones like Vernazza.   Grey did such an amazing job of describing the Italian city, that when I Googled pictures after reading it looked exactly as I had pictured it in my mind.  Only a great writer can describe a location so effortlessly without being overly descriptive and boring.

I am enamored with this story and don’t want to pick anything else up for a while because I want to live in this beautiful place just a little longer.  The sun, beaches, and restaurants of literary Italy have completely captivated me.

Georgie was a new character for me since I have yet to read R.S.’s previous novel featuring her.  However, not knowing her yet didn’t detract from the story at all.  We get into her point of view from the get-go as she describes the numerous bad dates her mother has set her up on, as if biological clock is ticking down rapidly at the fresh age of 26.  Georgie, tired of her mother’s endless match-making, decides to spin her globe and pick a new place to land.  When she finally settles in Italy after a long journey fraught with motion sickness, she heads out into the city to find an unsuspecting husband.  Little does she know, she may have already encountered him.

“’Gianluca,’ I said.  ‘He’s not Voldemort, you can say his name. It’s not a big deal.’”

A Place in the Sun is a superb, sexy, and witty novel that every woman would be a fool not to love!  It is Chick-Lit at its finest.  Although parts of the story may seem a bit predictable, as it’s usually obvious the two main characters are going to eventually fall in love, it did not in any way cheapen the story.  I felt like I was watching one of my favorite Chick-Flicks on a lazy Saturday with a bowl of Ben and Jerry’s.  In fact, if Hollywood brought this novel to the cinema, I would be the first in line to watch!  It is that good.  Pre-order this novel now before the price goes up in two days, and get lost in the Italian sun, sand, and the sexy Gianluca.

Whoa! I just finished the most dreamy, sexy, fun destination romantic story. R.S Grey has wiggled her way into my heart with her beautiful words and stories. My weakness is destination romance and Italy is one of my favorite countries so this book was right up my alley.

Georgie is fed up with her mother’s persistent attempts at match-making and marrying her off. What is a girl to do? Well, Georgie takes off to Vernazza, a small picturesque seaside village, determined to find herself a husband. What Georgie did not expect was to meet the gorgeous brooding Gianluca so soon. Gianluca is a mysterious, not so friendly tourist. He has a painful past and a giant chip on his shoulder that he can’t shake. It did not take long for Georgie to find out the reason for Gianluca’s heart break and she is determined to bring him out of his shell. I think Georgie means well but the part where she laid into him about how he should get over it because it has been 5 years was a little insensitive. I think people grieve differently and there is really no time frame. But I like Georgie and that is Georgie’s personality – she is funny, quirky, caring, and honest. She is feisty and not afraid to speak her mind. The relationship between Georgie and Gianluca is a perfect case of opposite’s attract. Gianluca has no time or place for romance or friendship especially the tourist who would not stop with her million questions. Georgie’s forward personality gets under Gianluca’s skin at first but she eventually grows on him. Slowly, but surely she makes her way into his villa  and his heart. Their romance is not all smooth sailing – it does have scorching hot and explosive moments with plenty of sexiness and passion. Gianluca has his reasons to be so closed off at first but as the story evolves he turns out to be a swoony hero with a big heart, kind, loyal, and loving who I adore.

The author did an awesome job with the witty banters between characters. I also love the narrative and everything in between. I find myself getting lost imagining the beautiful scenery, the buildings, the people and the life of this spirited picturesque city.

This is a sweet friend to lover romantic comedy. It’s sexy, fun, and light hearted and leaves you with a tingling warm feeling in your heart long after the last page. The epilogue made me a bit teary eyed and gave me goose bumps. What a perfect ending!

*5 Lo Amavo! Lo Amavo! Lo Amavo! Stars*

Round and round the globe spins, and wherever her finger lands, Georgie, a native of London, England, plans to travel for the summer in hopes to find love. So off to Vernazza, Italy, she goes desiring to experience one of those swoony type romances she always hears about. At twenty-six years old, she is finally taking charge of her love life, well actually she is letting it up to fate, but she refuses to go on anymore blind dates her mother, bless her heart, is presently plotting. Oh and yes, fate truly does intervene when she is rescued by the exquisite Italian stallion, Gianluca, after she faints in the town square ;)

This was my first time reading an R.S. Grey novel, and I adored her witty sense of humor. I chuckled right along with the delightful cast of characters she so skillfully created. Georgie and Gianluca were utterly fascinating to get to know as individuals. I was entertained by their bantering conversations as their personalities clashed, and was mesmerized when they succumbed to their undeniable attraction for one another.

The odds of them becoming a couple were stacked against them. Georgie is fired up to have an affair of epic proportions with an Italian hottie, and the second she lays eyes on Gianluca, she's a goner, but he is still nursing a devastating loss from five years prior and has no desire to move on. Many women have tried to console and heal the gorgeous man, and all have failed. But then again, he has never had to square off against the unrelenting, all-encompassing storm named Georgie!

I plan on reading more of Ms. Grey's work, and if this book is any indication of what she has to offer, I am in for a great time of reading bliss!

Reviewing on behalf of Relentless Book Chics Ramblings and Reviews

I loved this story! I’ve been waiting for Georgie to get her own book since I first met her character in Settling the Score (The Summer Games #1). Even though her character was in a previous book, I don’t think you need to have read that to enjoy this, Georgie is such a fun and strong character that you’ll love her the first time you meet her.

Wanting to escape her Mother’s constant matchmaking in England, Georgie Archibald needs to get away and fate brings her to a little Italian village called Vernazza.
The journey to Vernazza is eventful and results in a very sick Georgie fainting outside the station and being rescued by 2 hot Italian men.

Gianluca is a broody, hot loner with a body every woman in Italy drools over but he’s not interested in women as more than a one night stand and makes it clear to Georgie that she can cross him off her list as a potential suitor.

Georgie is Georgie and doesn’t give up easily so if Gianluca thought that she’d just go quietly, he’s never been more wrong in his life. It doesn’t take long for Georgie’s infectious personality to get under his skin and he finds himself re-evaluating some of his decisions.
Georgie soon finds she has a few decisions of her own to make and when push comes to shove, will it be her heart that wins or her head?

This story was beautifully written and there were several times I had a lump in my throat and felt emotional. Gianluca’s story was heart breaking and I really felt for his character and everything he’d been through. Georgie is great, I love her humour and attitude and I highly recommend this story.

Beautiful read

A Place in the sun is a heartwarming read filled with little moments of humour and romantic moments with great characters, ideal for those afternoons or evenings where you just want to get swept away in someone else's world and Gianluca and Georgie's world was a beautiful one. .

Georgia decided after to many set ups and dates by her overbearing mother that enough was enough she wanted to find her own love, Georgie was an admirer of love she had witnessed in other relationships and with that sense of longing she took herself on a journey and with a flick of the globe and the pin point of her finger she was off to Italy from England.

Gianluca or Luca was a man who had loved and lost and had no intentions of loving again, he was stubborn and broody and very much a man who liked his own company since the death of his young wife.

Georgia breezed into the little village like a storm and bit by bit their relationship evolved.

Luca:
She was an agonising sort of beautiful, the kind that reached out and demanded everyone take notice. When she smiled, the world smiled with her, and more than once, I found myself wishing I was the man she deserved to be with, the one she had come to Italy to find.

As Georgia and Gianluca got closer and began their project of fixing up a B& B their relationship blossomed and it was hot at times but it took time and Gianluca needed to let go of his wife Allie.

Luca:
To be in love with someone is to live inside them. Allies breaths were my own and when she drew her last one, I was the one left gulping for air. I hadn't breathed deeply in five years.

A recommended read that will make you laugh swoon and finish with a sigh.

“When she smiled, the world smiled with her, and more than once, I found myself wishing I was the man she deserved to be with, the one she had come to Italy to find”.

A Place in the Sun is sweet story that will capture your heart. I honestly was anticipating to either not finish or not like it so much. I just seem to move through romance books most of the time without feeling anything or seeing what I’m meant to. I hardly ever feel connected deeply. (Thanks for ruining me, OUTLANDER). This book surprised me. It didn’t knock my socks off, but it was a pleasant surprise and I really enjoyed it a lot!! From the very beginning, I was trapped in the story and Grey’s writing style. It’s very fast-moving, but not in a light or badly written kind of way. Her writing is funny, fast, and forever in my mind. I’m actually reading another book by her already. Her humor is addictive, her heroines are hilarious and brave, and her book boyfriends are swoony. I move through them so quickly!

The characters are not the best written characters of all time, but they are pretty great. When it comes to characters, I’m pretty darn picky. I definitely need to know everything about them to make them seem real. I can do a favorites list of books with great characters if you all would like that. Georgie is a likable character. She’s got a sense of humor and adventure. She doesn’t budge when she sets her mind to do something. Luca was just perfect.

I love that this book takes place in a country different from my own. I felt like I was getting to travel there without leaving my house. Isn’t that a great perk of reading? The scenery was beautiful, and while I wish there was more detail in this book (as I usually wish from many romance books) I could still see it in my mind: the ocean, the sky, the beautiful shops and cottages. It was wonderful.

Overall, I adored this book. It was sweet and I think it would make a great movie. The perfect thing to watch with your girlfriends! If you’re looking for a sweet romance that will take you on an adventure and make you smile, look no further than A Place in the Sun by R. S. Grey.

I really enjoyed this book. I had liked Georgie's character from The Summer Games and was happy to read her story. It was sweet, funny, charming, sexy, with a little bit of angst. I felt like both the main characters were easy to relate to, so that was nice.

Georgie was feisty, witty, kind, stubborn, and a tad bit pushy. I didn't quite like how she barged in and basically said 5 years was enough time for Luca to grieve his deceased wife and it was time to move on. Having lost my son, I don't think anyone should be able to tell you when it's time to move on. Only you can determine that. But perhaps that's just me.

Luca was standoffish (at the beginning), polite, kind, gentlemanly, sweet, and funny (these latter traits began after he started opening up). I truly felt for him and connected with him more than I did Georgie, perhaps because we both have lost someone we loved. I liked that he finally came around when he felt he was ready and opened his heart up fully to love Georgie alone.

All in all, this was a really good, well paced read!

I always get excited about a new romance story from R.S. Grey. She’s one of my go-to romance authors and for good reason. Her latest, A Place in the Sun, reminded me of why I love reading these stories as much as I do all while making me fall in love with new characters.

Over the last few years, R.S. Grey has become one of my go-to authors when it comes to romance. I’ve read all but a couple of her books, and I’ve enjoyed every single one. Sure there are some that I’ll love more than others, but I have yet to read a book by R.S. Grey and not get sucked into the story. And of course that was no different with her latest, A Place in the Sun. Her stories always manage to grab my attention right away, and while reading them everything else around me seems to just disappear. A large part of that is, of course, the romance. And since I'm a sucker for a good love story, that really shouldn't come as much of a surprise. In this particular case, I loved seeing things slowly develop between Georgie and Gianluca, the constant push and pull that was there between them until they finally gave in to what was happening there. It might not have exactly been easy going for them, but the end result was definitely more than worth it. Not just because Georgie and Gianluca were great together, but also because I loved them as individuals.

If you’ve read The Summer Games: Settling the Score then you might remember Georgie Archibald as Freddie’s spirited younger sister. In this book, Georgie is all grown up and looking to find love for herself. Or at least to find love without her mother’s meddling. And you can’t really blame a girl for wanting to get away from a matchmaking mother, especially when it means running away to the Italian Riviera (side note - if you don’t want to immediately hop on a plane to Cinque Terre by the time you finish this book then there’s something wrong with you). And that’s what I loved about Georgie, that she wasn’t afraid to just take things in her own hands and leave what she knew behind in order to do things her own way. And she was determined to get what she wanted. When she decided that she was going to renovate the bed and breakfast, there was no way she was taking no for an answer, no matter how many times Gianluca told her just that. I loved her strong will, even if it sometimes got her into trouble (because those parts usually had me laughing). As for Gianluca, I loved seeing him slowly come out of his shell as he decided to start living in the present a little more. Sure it wasn’t always easy going, but he was doing his best and sometimes that’s all you can really ask for at the end of the day. And just like with all of R.S. Grey’s books, the cast of secondary characters is just as fantastic as the main characters.

Once again, R.S. Grey didn’t disappoint. A Place in the Sun was just as great as I hoped it would be and I would have been happy to keep reading about Georgie and Gianluca forever. The only downside is that I now really want to go to Italy.

Nice story. The British slang didn't seem quite right (I am pretty sure the author's from the States), but most of the dialogue rang true. The female protagonist was a minor character in one of the author's previous stories (set during the Rio Olympics), but you could enjoy this story without reading the prior one (as I did). Refreshingly, there was no evil ex (for either him or her) in the background. As is usual, the man and woman are both remarkably attractive, lusted over by every unattached person in the village.
Very minor issues: The story is supposed to be 8 years after the Rio Olympics (so, 2016 + 8 = 2024), and it also seems to be set now (2017). Also, the Italians, talking amongst themselves, (almost) always spoke English. This is odd. Even odder, the female protagonist- who spoke no Italian, even after being in the town for months- had no problem talking in English to every single person in this small seaside Italian village.

From the second I met Georgie in The Summer Games Settling the Score, I knew I wanted a book about her. Well, more like NEEDED a book about her. I finally got my wish and A Place In the Sun is so, SO good!

After Georgie has had it with her mother's middling ways, she decides to take a holiday in Vernazza, Italy. There she's hoping to have some much needed "me time", and of course, find a gorgeous Italian man. And that she does, making a first impression in a way that only Georgie can. Gianluca is gorgeous. The kind of man that makes your knees weak and your mouth dry.

But Luca has been through quite a bit in his past, and has walls up. He is moody and keeps to himself. Pretty much the opposite of Georgie. Which makes for some great bickering.

As the two spend time together, wither Luca likes it or not, they slowly get closer and closer. The friendship between the two of them feels genuine. Since Luca is guarded, it isn't rushed, but yet is a deliciously slow burner.

After some time, Georgie starts to get under his skin and even into his heart.

SIGH- this book was so good! The flirty banter, sexual tension, the defrosting of Luca's heart. All SO GOOD! I also have to mention with how R.S.Grey writes, you feel like you are in Italy. If you love slow burners, oh so steamy scenes, friends to lovers, and a laugh out loud, amazing lead female, you have to read this book!

Rachel has been a favorite of mine since Behind His Lens. She is the Queen of ROMCOM in my opinion.

She is one of those authors that I don't even need to read the synopsis. I would just one click because I know that you will get laugh out loud humor with romance.

This story had plenty of humor. I love Georgie! I want to be her best friend. And Gianluca - he grew on me in the best way possible. Their relationship starts out like molasses. SLOW.....because of Gianluca and his past. It takes a special project to bring them together. This is where a friendship blooms that is full of humor and awkward moments. Once you hear of his heartache, your heart will hurt for him and understand his "stand offish" ways.

Somewhere around ch 66-67 my heart began to hurt. Like literally, I felt like it was ripped out of me.

If you love a friends to lovers - romantic comedy then you MUST CLICK THIS ONE UP! Matter of fact - go back and click all her books up!

I enjoyed the secondary characters as well. They added a lot to their story. Rachel did Italy well with her spot on history and it made you feel as if you were there.

Each time I read a book from Rachel I think it's her best! <3 Then she adds another to that long list.

Thank you for the copy and I look forward to what you bring us next.

I loved getting to see Georgie get her story! I loved her in the Summer Games: Settling the Score.

Georgie ends up meeting Gianluca who is as dreamy as can be. Their sexual chemistry and tension between the two of them is off the page! Seriously, their flirting and budding friendship was so sweet and hot that when they kissed, it was steamy!! Not only do you have romance but friendship too! I loved her friendship with Katerina. Their friendship is the kind everyone wants.

It's dual POVs lets you understand both characters. I loved being able to see Gianluca develop with his relationship with Georgie.

It was really nice to read about Freddie and Andie! Plus their three kids!!! So cute!

I'm telling you...I want to fly to Vernazza, Italy and find myself a handsome man like Gianluca. Plus the gelato sounded so good!

All of R.S. Grey's books that I've read are so good. It's so good that you can't put it down and I end up reading it so quickly. I love the humor in the story. She is able to put some drama, humor, and romance all into one book.

Plus R.S. Grey never fails to insert a Harry Potter reference in there! This makes me love it even more because HARRY POTTER! The casual Voldemort reference in this story was awesome!

I've finished!! Nooooooo!!! Take me back to Vernazza!

RS Grey has written with emotion and such description that I felt I was there and I felt like I was a character in the story.

We met Georgie in Settling the Score and I immediately loved her. She's the best friend you want, the life and soul of the party, the eternal sunshine child with her positivity and charm.

This time, years have passed and she's at the end of her tether with her mother's incessant failed matchmaking attempts and skips out on London for the sun, sea and hunks of Italy.

Naturally, the "hunk" is a brooding, silent male that has a ton of baggage and has no interest in love or relationships.

What a great recipe for happily ever after.

But, this is Georgie we're dealing with. I love her tenacity, I love her attitude, I love her strength.

RS Grey has written another masterpiece. Such likeable characters - eventually with Gianluca's case. I adore how she writes with humility, with passion and with conviction. The setting could not have been more ideal for Georgie's circumstances and the storyline fit her perfectly.

When can we all go and stay at Il Mare?

Bellisimo!

When I first met Georgie in The Summer Games: Settling The Score, I knew she needed her own book and I am beyond thrilled the author wrote it. I was Team Georgie from the beginning! She is just so fun, spunky, and she has that very memorable personality. Then there's Gialuca...swoon! With tragedy in his past, he seemed to be just going through the motions. Content with his life, but Georgie seemed to show him how to live! She was relentless and never gave up. In the end it paid off.

I was captivated from the beginning! There is humor, drama, and some very hot love making! I loved all the sexual tension! It just made the reward that much more sweeter! The characters were amazing and well developed. The book takes place in Italy. The author does a great job describing the area without making it feel like a travel guide. She keeps the main focus on the story of Georgie and GiaIuca. I don't comment about this too often but the cover of this book is gorgeous, along with the interior chapter headings. It's the little things like that, that make me appreciate a book much more. Overall, this book is simple amazing! The author surprises me with each new book she writes. This is a must read!

This book is will melt your heart faster than Gelato on a hot summer day! Georgie and Gianluca share a sweet and wonderful love story in this tale of love, loss and finding yourself.

Georgie is escaping her mother's overbearing tendencies and setting out for an adventure. A bit of chance brings her to Vernazza, Italy, where she meets the lovely and aloof Gianluca. She's determined to break through his tough outer shell and bring out the man she instinctively knows he's hiding.

What follows is a delightful and charming story of friendship, love and fighting for your own happiness. A Place In The Sun is the perfect title for this book. Reading it feels like sunshine. I think this might be R.S. Grey's best work to date and I'm absolutely in love with this book and these characters. It is a must-click for anyone who LOVES a sweet and tender romance full of love and light.

Wow!!

I really adored this story. We meet Georgie in the in Settling the Score which is Freddie's book. And this is her chance at a love story by travelling to Italy. My God, I would absolutely love to go there now after reading this. And this was the book I finished my challenge with on Goodreads of reading 200 books. I could not ask for a better book.

A Place in the Sun is a very sweet, sexy, light book. There's not too much - hardly any - drama and that suited this book perfectly for the way Rachel wrote it. I loved the knowledge that was provided with Italy. Rachel did her job with getting the information. I felt like I was living there.

Ah Luca. He's amazing. I feel like he's someone everyone will fall in love with. He was the perfect character and he could not have been a better match for Georgie. Honestly, she could talk for days and she reminds me of my sisters a lot. So it was very easy to connect with her.

I loved everything about this story. There's not one thing I would change. I can't wait to see what Rachel has in store for us in the future.

Ms Grey is back!! I really really enjoyed this book!

The main character is Georgie, and if you remember she's Freddie Archibald's feisty little sister. She was a beloved supporting character in that book for me and she's even more so as the main character of this book. Georgie is still a straight shooting, strong, tells it like it is kinda woman and you have to admire that to some extent.

Gianluca... well... he's (of course) the most handsome man on the face of the planet complete with eight-pack abs, the dreamiest set of eyes, a beautiful, thick.... head of hair and can make any woman have multiple O's just by looking at her. He is broken though and sometimes annoyingly so. It's been five years. FIVE YEARS! (shouted in my best Georige English accent voice) it's time to move on already.

The story seemed to drag a little in some places but not so much that it would have made me stop reading. Also, and added bonus was the location and scenery (which I promptly Imaged searched), it was beautiful and magnificent and dream-worthy. I gave this book 4 very, very strong stars!

A beautifully written book on love, loss and second chances. This book tore me up. At points I was sad and other times over joyed and soaring with happiness. Another book from this author that I loved.
Georgie decides to travel to Italy on a whim. She is tired of her mother thinking she needs to settle down. She is. Good daughter and goes on the many dates her mother sets up for her,but enough is enough. Georgie has a list of wants in a man and boy after all the disaster oust dates she has been on she definitely knows what she doesn't want in a man. She soon finds herself in Vernazza. Arriving in great fashion...lol not, she finds beautiful weather and even more beautiful men. She becomes friends with a great fun loving group, with the exception of Gianluca. He is gorgeous but very closed off. Georgie is just such a sweet soul, that soon enough they become close friends. But sometimes that may not be enough to take the next step. I loved the connection of who Georgie's brother is.

I borrowed this book with Kindle Unlimited.

I've read most of the author's previous books. We first met the female lead, Georgie in the her brother's book, Summer Games: Settling the score. Even though that couple appears a little bit in this book, it's a standalone with a HEA. I wasn't as in love with this book or impressed with it as I have been in most of her previous books. I didn't really feel the connection between Gianluca and Georgie. And I felt that the book was just missing some chemistry and flare. The book was not a quick and easy read. This book is definitely more emotional than her summer game series. It took me a little longer to read because I wasn't as drawn in to the characters or the storyline like I had hoped. Overall, I still enjoyed this book but not my favorite by this author.

I discovered this series on my KindleUnlimited subscription and read them completely backwards, starting with Georgie and ending with Kinsley. But after doing so, I really think I started with the best book. Maybe the author found her stride on this third one. So I recommend reading them in order so you won't be slightly disappointed like I was.

But back to Georgie! She is a neurotic but overall lovable character. While the majority of us cannot relate to a wealthy, titled family matchmaking for you, most of us have had high expectations thrust upon us at one point. Georgie does prove that she has dedication, passion (in spades) and a loyal heart.

Yes, yes, her hero is dreamy and broody and delicious. But I'm here for Georgie. Meet her, love her, read again.

I was waiting for this book Since Settling the score.

Georgie is fantastic. She is funny, A dreamer and just nice. i love that she had her own book.

Its been a lot of years Since we saw her last in Her Brother's Book. Georgie is 26 year old Now and she is desperate. Her mom keeps sending her to dates and she wants her married soon. But Georgie doesnt want to. She has a list and no man has completed that list.
So, one day, Out of desperation, she decides to escape England. And goes to Vernazza, italy.
So she leaves and her life changes forever.

I must say that i keep loving Georgie, she made me laughed so hard in some Moments, she is hilarious.

She arrives to Vernazza and she Falls in love With The place. She walks its streets, Taste its Sand, swim in its sea and start meeting its people.

And thats how she meets Gianluca.
An english man living in that place for The last five years. He is romanticly handsome. He is tall, he is hot, and he is reserved. And also, he has A LOT of baggage.

Georgie want to know him, but he doesnt like her much (HE EVEN DIDNT KNOW HER NAME!). But in a very Georgie Way, she has a plan to become her friend and Maybe something more.

At The beggining Gianluca doesnt care what plan Georgie has, he just doesnt want to know her, but soon realizes that Georgie is different and special.

Slowly they become friends, they laugh together, they eat together and suddenly their feelings are deeper that they even imagened.

I had some problems With Gianluca. I know, he has unresolved issues, but i found him very inconsistent. He thought one thing, but said another, and then did another thing. Like, he wasn't clear, so i didn't really love him.

There were some other things that i didnt like it either, but thats very personal.

A place in The sun is a very good read. The descriptions are really great and you could feel The passion of Vernazza.

I love the stamp doodles throughout, I love the yellowing of the pages, gave it an old world feel. i read it on my kindle, i am guessing it is the same in the real life books? Love everything about it, such a great story. I know they are sort of similar, for me I pulled from or recalled the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun - 2003 "A writer impulsively buys a villa in Tuscany in order to change her life." with Diane Lane, love that movie, I love the idea of a lady travel overseas to find new love or to get over a failed life/relationship or whatever. Love the characters. One of my most favorite parts is Georgie Archibald trip on train. I so feel for her getting motion sickness, why will no one help her or change seat with her? I don't wanna give away too much, but that part, it so touching or that you can feel for her, sympathize. Must read. My 1st book read written by R.S. Grey ... going to add more books to my TBR list now. ( ;

Ah! This book! Besides the fact that this is probably one of my favorites by Rachel, it really made me want to just travel. Having seen photos of Vernazza through Rachel's IG made it so much easier to really picture certain scenes and what it was like. From the very beginning Georgie had me laughing and Gianluca had me pining for him. The way they developed their relationship was the best way it could've happened and I'm glad with how it all played out. Except for the fact that I think it ended too fast, but either way I think this book has made it to my top favorites of Rachel's (and I've read most of hers) and by far Georgie and Gianluca have become my favorite of her couples. I loved the characters in this book. Georgie and Gianluca couldn't be any more different, but their differences are what made their characters stand out and really blend well. This story was the perfect blend of romance, comedy and wanderlust!

Georgie Archibald is fantastic. Her spunk, strength, vulnerability, and tenacity are what make a great MC. Throughout the entire book Georgie refused to let life ruin her. Even at her lowest point, even when it was simply a mask to make it through, even in her weakness, she was strong. I adore that.

Luca is that mysterious, somber MC that makes you determined to see what makes him tick. He broods, he teases, he gives and takes, but above all, he makes you swoon. It's part of his charm. Luca can't help but make everyone fall in love with him ... which is kind of the problem isn't it?

A fun story about two polar opposites, A Place in the Sun is addictive, heartwarming, sweet, and tugs at all the right heartstrings. I loves watching these two go from fighting to friendship to more.

RS Grey is officially one of my favorite authors! She has such a knack for creating fun characters and blending their stories together into an amazing (and hot) romance.

Georgie was one of my favorite characters from The Summer Games and I always wanted to know just a little more about her. In this novel she is everything I had hoped for and more! And Luca… I mean come on what a freaking hottie!

I also very much enjoyed the fact that it was such a sweet romance in comparison to some of the hotter romances she has written.

I know it's not summer anymore but this would be a great beach/pool read or just a great way to spend a weekend.

Well after some hard reading emotional books lately this book was just what I needed. It had me laughing, swooning and enjoying every minute of it.

You met Georgie Archibald in Settling the Score (The Summer Games #1) as Freddie's sister. After being driven insane by her meddling matchmaker mother she escapes to Italy.

She comes across Gianluca, who is trying to escape the pain he going through after being broken by love. Despite his attraction to Georgie he will resist the British Spitfire that caught his eye. She doesn't care for the walls he's built up around himself and starts knocking them down without even trying.

Another fabulous read by R. S Grey just what the doctor ordered ?

If you've read Rachel's The Summer Games: Settling the Score, then you might have been introduced to Georgie's character then. If you haven't, have no fear, this book is a beautiful standalone and you don't need to read anything before this.

Let's start with how amazing the beginning is. Georgie sparatically went to Italy to find love. She was tired of her mom setting up date after date and none of them working, she felt awful after each one. Desperate to find love she got a plane ticket and left, not even telling anyone where she would be.

In Italy, that's right, she meets a handsome guy- Gianluca! He may seem like a great guy just from his name, but he's a broody and emotionally innattainable guy, and Georgie only sees this as a challenge.

Georgie is tired of her matchmaking mother. She spins a globe and point to a random destination heading there to start her own adventure.
Luca is a widower who been grieving for five years alone and brooding.
When Georgie and Luca meet, Georgie is determined to bring his walls down and be his friend. While renovating Luca's delapodated Bed and Breakfaat the two find more than friendship they find love.

Georgie is a little crazy a lot funny and really sweet and kind, you really can't help but love her. She's a refreshing heroine and you won't stop rooting for her.

I read constantly, perhaps avidly, and fully admit that I am a bit of a book snob. The writing must be great ... first rate spelling, grammar and punctuation and all that, of course. But more, a great book must pull at my heart and leave me feeling good -- profoundly grateful that I chose such a book. "A Place in the Sun" is such a book. I will read more of R.S. Grey's books and re-read this one, probably more than once. I was drawn into the book from the beginning ... into the beautiful, unforgettable love story and achingly lovely portrait of Italy that makes me want to go there. I loved this book.
