The series was a nice light read. But if you are looking for any character depth, development or a story where everyone isn't living in a unicorn and rainbow world, these are not for you.
I read all 6: the first one I struggled with the most but I wanted to see the how books played out. A few were better than others but it was exhausting living in a world where everything was so perfect. Even if someone experienced any sort of issue, it was resolved in a few days.
I realize for some this type of fantasy is a nice escape but it was not for me.

Just completed this series. I liked it. BUT, Too much using God's name as an exclamation. Too much wine at every turn. Too much "feeling something shifting inside" phrase. Other than that, yes, I did like the story for it was different from anything I've read lately. I really liked the Guatemala and Italy settings. I think the emotions shown were spot on for certain ethnic groups, in general, and in times of highs and lows in anyone's life. It touched me with emotion, which I don't think is a bad thing coming from a book, speaking for myself. I'm planning to read the Bella series, too. Maybe not for everyone, but a good deal, especially with KU.

I am not one to review books because to me they seem to be a personal preference. Having said that I just finished the Legacy Series books 1-6 and I couldn't put them down. Good thing I was off during the summer because I read them nonstop, even staying up thru the night! The series was well written and I found myself emotionally vested in the characters and stories. I, like other reviewers hated to finish the first series and am now looking forward to A Map for Bella series. I hope that Paula Kay continues to write poignant and loving stories of family and friends. I highly recommend reading this series, but make sure you have tissue handy for sad and happy tears!

The author builds and intertwines the lives of five women in such an amazing way as to make you feel like you really know these five. Each one so completely different but all five tied together by a love that far survives the death of yet a sixth woman, the catalyst.
The visual descriptions of Italy, Guatemala, and even the San Francisco and San Diego areas, are so extraordinarily perfect that one can almost feel the sun warming your skin and smell the different smells in the air.
Warning to the reader, you are going to fall in love with all five of the ladies.

I am so glad I decided to read this series .It starts off with one family and how being in the right place at the right time ,two people realize that it doesn't matter what you look like, can lead to how families are not only of blood ties. That best friends can help the family genetics grow. I was able to read this series all at one time .You won't have to wait for next book to come. You will not want to stop reading ,one minute you can't believe what she or he did or what was said ,but how quickly you can forgive and move on to the next adventure .

I borrowed the Legacy Series from the Kindle library. The writing is rather juvenile and lacks a professional quality. Based on the copyright, it appears that this is a self-published author. A professional editor would have tightened up much of the text and repetitive parts of the story and would have helped create a more adult feel to the text. If you want to read a simple book without a great deal of substance, then this is a good book/series for light entertainment. Don't expect highly developed characters or technically savvy writing.

I liked it but I did skim over some parts of it because it seemed too repetitive. I didn't like how it never mentioned the father of Bella until the very end. I think that he should have been mentioned earlier in the book. I wouldn't give rave reviews and tell everyone that they need to read it but it was an ok series of books

You won't be sorry to read this fantastic series. I didn't want it to end, and thankfully it isn't. I will be reading the Bella's Map series next! From Arianna's story to Isabella's, I didn't want to stop reading, this series is THAT good. Do yourself a favor and immerse yourself in this fantabulous series!

It was OK. The premise of the story was good. The editing (grammar, typos) wasn't too bad. The dialogue between characters was too formal to be realistic and the stories weren't that exciting to me. I did finish this series (not interested in the next series) so that says something.

The book is a very easy read, gets boring at times. The one thing that drives me crazy is the inconsistency... if the author has three characters go for a walk, don't have one be in the kitchen at the same time she is walking. I have almost finished the first book . I'm not sure I will finish...

A totally wonderful read. Lovely writing and nicely developed characters. Heartwarming series despite sadness early on, but this is so often the way life is. I've just downloaded Kay's Bella series and hope Kay continues to write and give us more delights!

These books have been a joy to read.
I have enjoyed this big loving family.
These books are not for those who prefer edgy stories, or books outlining crime or the underbelly of society.
These stories are about love and family and redemption. Read these when you need a refreshing pause from the craziness of the world.

Engaging, emotional, warm, characters whose lives intertwine in the most unexpected ways. The author makes this family's happiness, grief and uncertainties engaging without resorting to exaggeration, gratuitous sex or violence.

I agree with "Consistency Counts". In book 3 "Matter of Time, once the author talks about Victoria's 12 year marriage, then she references Claire's 15 year old sister, Nathalie, and near the end of the chapter she talks about Victoria and her husband's 10th Wedding Anniversary trip to Tuscany. Just wondering how long have they actually been married...
