Solid five stars. I've read several of this authors work and the Seaside Series starting with AD2 and loved it all. The author writes about life, family, and love. The humor between the characters is priceless as well.

Well it's absolutely no secret that I really love Rachel Van Dyken's writing. It's beautiful, poignant and it sucks me in. Capture is touching, passionate and incredibly emotional. It touches a subject that authors tend to shy away from. The trauma that Dani faced after her parents' death would have rocked anyone's world and Dani is no exception. Having Dem, Alec, Jay, and Pris around to help her move forward is a blessing but when Lincoln Greene enters her protected world by way of Jay "encouraging" Dani to be his personal assistant, Dani's life is changed forever.
"I wanted to earn her in the worst way possible. I wanted it to be hard, because I knew if it was easy, it wasn't real." - Lincoln Greene
"We do this, you leave me, I will chase you." "And I mean that in the most threatening way possible. I'm not letting you go." - Lincoln Greene
Lincoln is the perfect blend of man. He's funny, lighthearted and generally happy, considering that he didn't necessarily have the greatest childhood. He brings happiness to Dani's world and stands up for her when and where she needs it. I loved seeing the transformation in Dani by having Lincoln around! At the same time, Lincoln is changed because of Dani. The two alone are lonely, sad, and disconnected to the world. Together? They're stronger, braver, happier.
"Selfishly, I'd like to think that maybe, just maybe, there's a bright side, and that's us."
Rachel Van Dyken has this unbelievable ability to take a topic that is typically hard to read about and turn it into this exquisite story that flows with grace. She creates stories that perfectly blend humor, tragedy, and emotional heartbreak. Capture is no exception - I absolutely adored it.

I cannot wait for the next book. Capture reunites you with all the previous Seaside characters, Alec, Demetri, & Jamison, and introduces us to more. Zane's secrets are going to be epic. Laugh out loud funny, and always entertaining from first page to last.

I really loved the seaside series. Demetri is AWESOME!
So I was exited to hear this is a spin off series from that. This is a great start to the new series. Loved how much Alec, Dem, and Jay were in this book also some toxic guys as well. I'm hoping Zane's book is next. I want to know more about the Marshmallows?!?

This book has it all, comedy and romance. The perfect combo that makes all Rachel's books awesome. I love seeing the whole gang back together. Great story about Dani overcoming her tragic past and finding love with the sexy Lincoln. I can't get enough of AD2 and Jay. Looking forward to Zane's story.

Rachel is one of my favorite "one-click" authors and this book definitely didn't disappoint. I loved Dani and Linc. Love the storyline and pretty much everything about it. Rachel has an amazing talent for telling stories.

I had really high hopes for this story. The synopsis pulled me in but once I started reading I was unfortunately pulled away.
First off, I didn't have any type of connection to Dani. I felt absolutely nothing for her, in fact it took me almost 7 chapters to figure out if I even liked her character. Maybe that's why I didn't favor this novel because I had no connection to the main character. For some reason I held no sympathy for Dani's pain or trauma. It's sounds harsh but for the life of me I felt absolutely nothing towards her or her situation. In a way I felt like the selective muteness was just a way for the author to gain the reader to like her and for me it had the opposite effect. I can't tell you how pissed off I was when she was caught talking to her dads voicemail. A selective mute who talks to voicemails and has sassy text conversations? Such a major contradiction.
That's the whole thing about this novel; it was a big contradiction. The writing and the character didn't match, the story was predictable and feeble. The love between Dani and Lincoln seemed forced if there was any love to began with because I'm not sure there was. The reason for her muteness was dare I say it ... silly and stupid. The author tried extremely too hard and in the end the novel began washed out. Each character was vain and shallow with no realness or real meaning. It was just TOO MUCH! the author tired too hard to create a charming story that turned out to be a little lame and boring. I had to force myself to keep reading. Don't get me started on the big production everyone made out of Dani being seventeen. It's like the author wanted the reader to know that it was a big deal her being seventeen and Lincoln being twenty one. That it was so wrong for them to be together because of they're age yet she still wrote them having sex bridge Dani's birthday. CONTRADICTION!!! I'm pretty sure the age of consent to sex in the United States is actually seventeen. Then you had the "if you break her heart, I'll break you" lines that popped out every other page by one of the five "ridiculous sexy hot and famous" best friends she has. TOO MUCH! The story tried TOO HARD!
I will however say the dialogue was witty and funny. 3 stars simple because I caught myself laughing my head off due to some of the conversation that were had between the characters. I just wish the strong exchange of conversation was back up by an even stronger story plot. This was such let down because I had high hopes for this novel and heard so many great things about the author. With shallow characters, a weak storyline and forced sympathy I have no interest in continuing this story.

I loved the book. It is about a personal assistant to a movie star, who gets the hot, playboy to fall for her. It takes awhile for him to give in to his desire but when they do, they become an incredible team. 4 stars

Rachel Van Dyken has done it again! She has written another captivating story that you will not be able to put down, once you start. Though Capture is a stand alone, if you are a fan of Rachel's work, you will be excited to see the crossovers from her other series. For true fans, you will get a glimpse from the cast of her Seaside, Ruin and Eagle Elite series. True to form this book is filled with humor, strong characters and heartfelt emotions.
In this story you meet Dani. She is suffering from the traumatic experience of her parents untimely death in an auto accident. Though she gets up each day and goes through the motions of life, she has not spoken a word to anyone in months. Despite this setback, Dani is used to being around celebrities. Her best friends are Alex and Demetri, the famous rock star duo from AD2, her sister is married to a Hollywood giant and she even has been known to hang with NFL stars among other famous musicians; but nothing has prepared her for Hollywood's heartthrob, Lincoln Greene. Her brother in law insists she be Lincoln's assistant for the summer. But how can she do that, when she can't even speak to him?
I could not get enough of the characters from this story. I am excited to see it is a part of a new series for Rachel. She has done a fabulous job of weaving the storylines across several series as well as build more for future stories to come! The next book can not come out fast enough for me!

My heart broke for Dani and the bottled up emotions. I could sympathize with her. Linc was not at all what I expected and I'm glad he became the man he did. Such a great story of love, family, and life.

Reviewed For I'm A Sweet And Sassy Book Whore
Capture is the first book in the Seaside Pictures series and I really loved it. Now this is a spin-off of the Seaside series that I haven’t read yet sadly but trust me I plan on reading it very soon. That being said, while we get to meet the characters of that series and they play a good part in this one I still think you can easily enjoy this series without reading the previous one. Rachel Van Dyken has a way to enthrall her readers that they forget about the world around them and don’t want to stop reading. That is what happened for me.
Trauma and loss effects people in different ways, for Dani it has caused her to stop talking. She communicates through texts messages and even with doing that you can tell she has some serious sass going on. I really felt for Dani, she was suffering in so many ways that you could understand why she shut down the way she did. Lincoln is an actor and her boss. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot even if when the book starts she is only seventeen you can just picture how explosive they were going to be together, #@!! even from just a kiss you knew it was going to be something hot. Lincoln wants Dani but knows he can’t do anything until she is eighteen or their friends will murder him.
I loved the dynamic between Zane, Alec, Jaymeson, Demitri, Lincoln and Dani. I do think though that Dani’s sister coddled her more than she should have and that added to the situation. I also love how a character from one of my favorite series of Ms. Van Dyken’s is linked to Zane.
Capture was emotional, had angst, healing and most importantly love. I laughed, I cried, I just couldn’t put it down. I can’t believe I waited this long to read this one. Capture is a book I can easily recommend and one that I loved.
