Star Wars: Before the Awakening

Gave some background as to why the characters could perform the way they did in The Force Awakens. Still leaves you wondering about Rey's parents and how she survived to adulthood. Liked the way Finn was developed.

If you loved The Force Awakens, chances are you fell for either, Rey, Finn or Poe, perhaps even all of them but whatever the case, this book really helps with getting more out of this characters and their particular situations as well as personality if not their personal tragedies. Can't recommend it enough.

All stories help paint the atmosphere and gives the history prior to TFA. Don't go on YouTube to learn about what happens to Finn, Poe, and Rey. Read this. Be a SW fan! It's worth your time and money. Bravo, authors.

Halfway through the book and I'm very pleased with the insight into these 3 characters. You feel as if you are getting an adequate idea of what "normal" life was for them prior to the events in the film.
Thoroughly enjoyed the illustrations especially the one in Finn's chapter.

This is a quick, but good read for those interested in a preview of what Rey, Fin, and Poe were up to just prior to the beginning of Episode 7: The Force Awakens.

It doesn't possess any notable spoilers and contain three engaging stories.

This was a great read! Each of the character-bios provided details that helped explain elements of The Force Awakens, in some cases things that just didn't make sense on their own in the film. I am very happy that I purchased and read this book! Many thanks to Greg Rucka!

Nothing to crazy happens but offers a lot of interesting back story to three great characters. It also answers some questions people had from the movie about character past. The only con is that it can be a little slow at times.

This set of short stories is reminiscent of the now non-canon Star Wars books I read growing up. It gives more backstory on three new characters from The Force Awakens, and makes me want to know more.
