Ben Coes has not written many books, but his Dewey Andreas character has to be one of the most popular and interesting of any being followed today. I would rate him right up there with the Lee Child books. He is truly a clever writer.

If you like action/adventure novels, you should buy this book. I hadn't read any books by Ben Coes before until I started with his series about Dewey Andreas. I am now hooked on them, just like I am on Vince Flynn's series of books about Mitch Rapp.

This well-written thriller rings with authenticity, and left me feeling that I was privy to the planning and execution of a high-level political event. The intricate plot kept me turning pages well into the night. I look forward to reading more from this author!

I enjoyed this book, with reservations. It moves along keeping you in suspense. It deals with contemporary themes, like the threat of Pakistan and India creating a global nuclear disaster and the ethical dilemma of a Coup D'Etat, but I found the overwhelming pro-Israel stance and use of Islamists as the bad guys a bit stereotypical for me. Especially after just reading a political thriller AN UNQUIET AMERICAN by AFN Clarke that's just as fast paced, suspenseful but better written and more intelligent in it's approach to the problems of the world - not quite so black and white as Coes makes things out to be.

Ben Coes knows how to write thrillers ,his POWERE DOWN was the best I read in 2012,tried Coup dÉtat and was disappointed...its plain unbelievable how a few men can stop an India-Pakistan conflict...as good as they may be !!

Being a passionate reader and enjoying the action/thriller novels, I just discovered Ben Coes' series featuring Dewey Andreas. He develops the story line and character development in such a way, that it is a page-turner that you will not want to put down until you finish it. I would highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a compelling novel.

Zipped through 600 pages... 2nd book was 400 pages...wished it had been 600.
When I like an author, I read every book he writes.
Am about to finish 4th book
Only problem ...I am 78 years old. Need author to write more books faster.

Ben Coes has definitely got a very interesting character in Dewey Andreas! He is also a very Tea Party like person and that just makes me like him even more. The man has some great writing skills and his creativity is excellent.

Everything I've read by Coes I have thoroughly enjoyed. Not much more to say, or need to say. The characters are well done, the plot lines intriguing, the the pace is. good. I eagerly await his next, and I think that's high praise.

As usual, Dewey is neck deep in adventure and all of the map in doing it! This novel had connections to past exploits as well as a number of side plots that kept the reader thinking of how all of it was going to culminate in a (hopefully) successful ending?

As someone who has devoured every one of Vince Flynn's poltiical thrillers, I am happy to say that Ben Coes delivers an even better American hero than Mitch Rapp in Coup D'Etat's protagonist Dewey Andreas. This is a smart, tough hero who takes out the terrorist trash in a visceral and satisfying way. Coup D'Etat is a fast-paced taut thriller that launches you into a highly believable story that could have been ripped straight from today's headlines. I am looking forward to reading ALL of Ben's other works!

The entire Ben Coes series is a nail biting, breath holding group of stories that lead you to all parts of a dangerous world. His research is thorough and the anxiety that is created by reading his work is that it's all believable.

Fast pace, good read. Everything you should want in a an action book. plenty of action, good story line and very hard to put the book down. Caution, this book may interfere with your sleep, as it truly is very hard to put it down at bedtime.

Ben Coes second novel doesn't disappoint. Dewey Andreas gets involved in trying to stop an all out nuclear war after Pakistan drops a nuke on India. Tension mounts as China and the U.S. flex their muscles in making sure there is not a global power shift. If that weren't enough, Dewey is also dealing with terrorists hell bent on finding and killing him.
I'll be following all of his future adventures.

probably one of the best thrillers I ever read. Start with first of trilogy: Power Down. You will enjoy it so much you cannot wait for the next one. This is it: Coup D'Etat. Great writing, great story .
At times it was so realistic I felt as though I was reading an event in the newspaper...G-D forbid.
Ben Coes is a winner.
