The Richard Castle books with Nikki Heat as the main character are outstanding. I really didn't think they would be that great, seeing how they were created as a spin off of the show, but I was very pleasantly surprised! Love this series!

Item: Book as described.
Delivery: Prompt and well packaged.
Recommend: Would recommend this Nikki Heat novel to anyone whose a fan of Castle!
Purchase again?: Yes, if I ever need another copy.

I am a Castle fan, so I may be a bit biased. However, if it was a crap read, I would state it without hesitation.
Definitely for one for (but not restricted to) Castle fans!

Detective Heat and writer Jamerson together are an unbeatable team when catching criminals. They also are attracted to each other in a most intimate manner. This is a book most deserving to be read by you!

Because these books are based on the TV Series, I feel I must begin with the fact that I very much enjoyed Season 1 of Castle. I thought the opening of each episode was very artful and interesting with the staging of the murders set to music. It really made me feel Nikki's reaction and passion for every crime. Then the book came out, and the characters' passion and banter were of the same high caliber, which I thought Heat Wave captured extremely well.

Naked Heat, not so much. It's as though they got so excited by their success that they just slapped a plot together, which again (sadly this time) mimics the series. I was so sure that Kate's mother's murder was going to be a through-line for the season, and it just...ended. The same sort of thing happened in the Naked Heat. Nikki was mad at Rook for the article...for about 3 seconds...and then sleeps with him again! All through the book we are faced with Rook's childlike unwillingness to admit or fix his wrongs, perfering to smooth his errors with platitudes and gifts instead, thereby leaving this reader with a vague feeling of ickiness about Nikki allowing this guy back into her life. The whole series became more and more vanilla, losing the edge that had really grabbed me in the first place. It's as though the characters were not allowed to follow the paths their marvelous creators' (the actors) instinctual choices would have made, which left this series and book with no real stakes.

Isn't it ironic that I place the blame for that solely on the writing?

This is not great literature. It is light fluff for beach or bedtime reading. That said it is fun , especially if you are a fan of the TV show "Castle", which I am. So I enjoyed the reading, which is not an intellectual challenge. Always nice to have something like this to read every once in awhile.

Absolutely loved this one. I could seriously turn right around & read it again, but I'll keep going with the Heat series if I must. The writers are just spectacular & keeps you guessing right up to the last page. Great read!!

Great tv show, great premis for series of detective books. Enjoy the stories and the writing. If the gost writer ever comes out of closet and writes his or her own books I would enjoy reading them. Naked Heat great story that did not give up who done it in the first few chapters.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I enjoy watching "Castle" on television and I can almost hear the dialogue as I read it. Who ever writes these stories is very clever and has a good way of portraying the scene as you read it. To me it was very enjoyable to read and I also bought the other two books by the same author. I look forward to some future books by him. Thanks for a good read!

I recently discovered the TV show Castle and hence I started reading the Nikki Heat series. They are very enjoyable and a great read. The characters are like the TV and therefore like old friends. But the books are full of characters that are fun and the stories read so fast that before I know it I am at the end of the book and sorry that I didn't read slower. You will not be disappointed to buy the Heat series books. Enjoy

The characters are well developed, more so as assisted by the television dramas. Full of wit, extraordinary repartee. High on the action-tension-suspense+goulish scale (ATS+G Scale). I recommend reading the Heat books in order.

I really enjoyed it. What happens as you read and you think is going to happen is not what really happens. It is a really good way to keep people on there toes. Thank you for your books. I love them.

Again, Castle doesn't fail to intrigue. This book is a real page-turner. The way the characters are entwined keep you guessing what's going to happen - not only the main focus of the book but the relationship between Nikki and Rook. Can't wait to read the next installment.

Nikki Heat is a superior police detective. All the books are about her amazing exploits as she solves one crime after another. These books are well written and the characters are believable. Enjoy them very much.

Richard Castle once again writes an exciting mystery. The Nikki Heat series are enjoyable, especially with my wife. She reads them and encourages my reading of the series. She and I do follow the TV series, an entertaining take off.

A long step forward from the first book. Storyline and characters remain adequate. This one gives a little soul - a bit of personality. Meaning the writer has figured out the medium. A book is not a teleplay. Good job. I'm buying the next book just to watch the author's progression.

After watching Castle on TV, I wanted to read the books he writes on the show. I was not disapointed. The characters are close to the characters on TV. A little more in the book than can be shown on prime time TV.

The book was in perfect condition and arrived very quickly! If you like the show Castle, this is great! The book has different names for the characters, but from watching the show you can put a face with the name. I am sooo glad I decided to buy these books!

These are some really fun books. They aren't the series, but do have similarities. All in all, they're a good, light read. Don't expect a Clancy thriller here. Just some good, relaxing, entertainment...

I love watching the TV series Castle and when reading the books I can not only picture the characters the book is based on, I can almost hear their voices. Whoever does the actual writing does a great job and makes the story flow. I'm ready for the next one.

Trying to keep all the names straight got confusing at times. Being a big fan of the tv show "Castle", as I was reading I could picture the tv characters as the characters in the book which made for fun reading. On to the next one.

Started watching Castle on ABC about a year ago! I was hooked and brought my first season 1 then 2,3,4,5 and now waiting for season 6!! I purchased Heat Wave which I enjoyed, then Naked Heat(Nikki Heat) which I've read both twice. Thank You. Lynne

The characters remained as they are on tv but seemed alittle more real than the first book. This book had a new plot from start to finish compared to the first book that used a lot of things from the tv show. I am glad I bought it as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
