Book 1), Talon (Rise of the Pride

This book had me at "hello". Theresa Hissong-Author is a wonderful artist with her words and re world jn which she paints you into is divine. It's rich and lush with animalistic passion, human curiosity alike.

I'm not really sure why this story has so many high reviews. This story has several rapes in it, including a young teenager, and no trigger warning in the book's description. I get that the author wants to sell her books, but I don't think it should be sold without a courtesy warning. Thankfully the heroine fades out of consciousness before her rape takes place, so we're only made to suffer the hero's horror when he discovers her broken body after the rape. And I found the rape scene to be totally unnecessary to the rest of the story, so it seemed doubly irritating that it was put in the book at all. I won't be reading any other books by this author.

Not a very interesting story. It was slow with limited action. The main character was not very strong. The female character was very stupid and not believable. It needs a lot of work. I will try one more book and see if the writing and story gets better.

Theresa Hissong may be better known up to this point for writing steamy Rockstar Romance but she has a talent for creating a unique and interesting shifter world as well. This is a fast-paced read that introduces you to a brand new series. There are several stories planned for this series and this is a beautiful setup to get it started off. Her characters are beautiful and interesting and get even more full-bodied as you read through the next stories in the series. I promise you once you start reading, you can't put it down, and you will be waiting just as impatiently as I am, for every next book in the series! Great read!

Warning this fated romance seems to follow the standard trajectory until she is kidnapped. But there is not just in time rescue she is beaten and raped. Then this is glossed over as she gets transformed. Not for me.

Who doesn’t love a hot shifter?

Theresa Hissong brings up Talon Shaw, Alpha to the Pride Shaw, a group of panther shifters. For the pride, finding their soulmate is hard and for most, they don’t, they settle into a relationship and essentially find contentment.

But in Talon’s case, he found his soulmate in Liberty Raines, the feisty owner of The Deuce, a local bar that the Shaw pride frequent. From the moment he touches her, his panther demands to take her and claim her, but he holds back. He holds back for fear of letting himself love a human and he holds himself back to focus on his pride, they need him.

When one of their own goes missing, Liberty takes matters in her own hands to help the man she loves and puts herself in a situation where her life is on the line.

I absolutely fell in love with Talon Shaw. He is sweet but fierce and who wouldn’t love that combination in a man?

Theresa Hissongs portrayal of panther shifters is completely addicting, that as soon as I read Talon, I couldn’t wait to get my greedy little hands on the next and so on and so forth.

To put it simply, this book is amazeballs.

An absolute must read!

This book was fantastic! The author weaves the story so that you feel you are there along side the pride through their good times and bad. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves shifters

Talon is an awesome read. Theresa is an awesome writer who always feeds your vivid imagination with her detailed writing. You will not only visualize what is happening you will be left longing for more. Keepcthese awesome reads coming Theresa.

A good but young Alpha, torn between his pride and a human mate he didn't really think he would find for another 10 or more years if ever. Strangers on his property, a missing young female of his pride, trying to protect his pride and his unclaimed mate. Feelings of 'am I doing enough ' when his mate is also taken. And a great lead in to the next book as they are also protecting his mate little sister and one of her protectors is interested. What will happen, I think you will enjoy finding out.

Liberty and her sister Nova owned a bar. When two men shifted in public the humans knew there were shifters. Talon knew the moment he saw her she was his mate. A group of wolf shifters wanted to make the Panthers pay for shifting in public. They kidnapped one of Talons pride and Liberty tried to save her. There is action, romance as only a hunky shifter can do . I don't want to ruin it so read it yourself while immerse myself in the next one.

Great story. Talon and Liberty make a great couple. An excellent plot, well developed characters, and an unusual setting. Really liked the setting. The suspense in the story is amazing and just the right level. When is the next book?

This story was incredible,outstanding,exciting and just hot ?as hell ?!! The storyline was just wow ?! This is the first time that I have read anything from Theresa' and it was just fantastic! She is an amazing writer and awesome storyteller ?. Can't wait to read more from her??.

Fun read of panther shifters. In this book, the wolves are the bad ones. A opening for a new series. And because they have just been exposed to humans, it's a different world for the panther pride!

Talon was an excellent start to a series . Love, adventure, mystery and all pulled together for an ending that's stand alone or you can read the next book to see what happens to the rest of the pride! I heartily recommend reading this book! Can't wait to start Winter and Nova's story!

Talon is the alpha of a pride of panther shifters in the rural area around the small town of Olive Branch. Things are great until 2 of his pride members are filmed shifting from men to panther and the video hits national news. Now the panthers are out of the proverbial supernatural closet and Talon has to deal with all the media. Liberty is the young owner of the local bar that the pride frequents. She loves seeing the huge, hulking men that come into the bar every weekend and until the video hit, had no clue they weren't human. When suddenly, Talon's panther gets a whiff of Liberty, he recognizes her as his mate. This is virtually unheard of for a panther, especially an alpha, to mate a human. And Liberty needs some convincing. This is a well written story right on par with other shifter stories I have read. I would recommend it to any lover of this genre.

Good Read! I really liked Talon and Liberty's story. He's the alpha of his panther pride and she owns a local bar. The pride has just been revealed to the world and Talon isn't sure he can handle a mate and the protect his pride. Liberty didn't realize what was in store for her when Talon realized she was his mate. Great story, I loved the characters and the world that is created around the pride. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
