Jeffrey Deaver does not ever disappoint. Intricate plotting and great unexpected twists. The forensics are extremely interesting and Deaver always gets into great details about all of the characters. Another great read..........

From the moment the unhappy pediatrician/coroner enters the town's dinner and finds a woman dying in the restroom, the action is non-stop. The victim, a blind college professor, is mutilated and her twin sister, one of town's police officer's swears vengeance. Everyone in the small Georgia town seems to hold their own secrets that make solving this and murders to follow almost impossible. But it is Sara, the pediatrician/coroner who who as the most secrets of all. An incredible, spell-binding story.

This is my first review for the store. I write this so that some reader can avoid the pain I suffered. The book was the worst mystery I have ever read. Wild plot twists have been mentioned by others, nonsensical plot twists are a better description. I found none of the book to be believable and must admit the the only reason I finished to the book was to see if the final half was worse than the first half. This book was factually wrong in so many ways. Here are a few; 1) The prices listed were off. 2)College professors held office hours late on Friday afternoons. 3) Someone was paid with $1000 dollar bills (hint, this bill does not exist).
I will give away one plot twist. Someone has been stealing rare books for months. Someone is given a contract to kill a girl two weeks before the first attempt is made to kill the girl who happens to be reading the rare book. The brillant detectives assume the book thefts are to a smart way to cover up the murder. I would have found the book less offensive if the plot twist was that young aliens were playing with their parents' time machine and that the aliens had given the murder contract in order to prevent their parents' from discovering the youthful indecretion.

Another very good read by Jeffrey Deaver. I find Lincoln Rhyme's forensic work so interesting and educational. It's amazing how he can break down a tiny piece of evidence, put all the pieces together and solve a crime.

The book was very good as usual, Deaver is always a pleasure to read. My only complaint is that he seems to be trying too hard to keep adding more and more unexpected twist endings. After a while, you just want the book the end!

Great story by a great writer. I especially like his references to Briards, French herding dogs who are more than that. I had two unfortunately both crossed the Rainbow Bridge 8 and 9 months ago. I enjoyed the book so much that I have read it several times and just purchased another copy to put on the book shelf that houses the memorials for Remus and Milli my two Briards. By the way, Milli's full name is Deaver's Bone Collector and is from his breeder, Madelyn.
It's an excellent read. I wish it had been made into a movie.
