Overall, an entertaining read. I'm curious to see what happens to the characters. The characters, though, are CHARACTERS -- all eccentric and quirky. That gets tiresome pretty quickly. Or perhaps it just means that everyone I know is dry and dull. If you find it on sale, or someone offers to loan it to you, great. Otherwise, it's probably not worth full price.

While the storyline is thin, the style of this book is incredibly entertaining. Each character is so unique and fun to read about. The main character Web is a sarcastic and damaged human being who is an excellent center piece to this novel. This is the only book I have ever read that made me laugh, cry, and want to vomit! I look forward to checking out more Huston novels, and would recommend this to any adult looking for some interesting entertainment.

There are very few mystery writers who can deliver the darker elements of the suspense genre while still being funny. Charlie Huston is one of them.

If you miss Donald Westlake, give Huston a try.

This is crime fiction at its best. Hard to characterize, almost in its own sub-genre, this is the most enjoyable and original thriller I've read in years. There's a lot of action (though more paced and not as rapid-fire as Huston's Hank Thompson trilogy), the characters are entertaining and unique. It's a blast to read.

I read Huston's Caught Stealing trilogy and enjoyed the fast moving and explicit stories he has woven. This novel was also a quick read and just plain awesome. I am not a fan of vampire stories but I have also heard great things about his Pitt novels as well.

A year ago I discovered Charlie Huston through the "Shotgun Rule". I was so impressed that I went out and read the rest of his books. They were not easy to find, but definetly worth it. This one puts all of them to shame. The Mystic Arts of Erasing All Signs of Death is one of the most origional books I've read in a long time. You're never quite sure where its going. In the end its a brilliant ride. If you like Peliconas, Price, and Lehane and are looking for the next generation, look no further.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Loved the characters and especially loved the writing style. Some reviewers have found Mr. Huston's style a little hard to read. I found it fresh and young. The twist in the middle about the school bus took me totally by surprise. Loved it!

After enjoying four other novels written by Charlie Huston, I was excited as heck to get my hands on this particular one. However, I must have started, The Mystic Arts of Erasing All Signs of Death, a half dozen different times before throwing in the towel. Finally, I just had to give up; Charlie Huston's work just didn't work for me this time. One of the reasons why I kept picking this book back up and giving it yet another try was because I received this book through the store's Vine Program and felt compelled to read it in it's entirety and give it a fair reveiw. In the end, I guess, this is my fair review....
