Tiger Eyes..... okay, when I started reading it I couldn't put it down. When I finished with it, it wasn't finished with me. This book doesn't make the characters lives all going and good. It talks about reality. Things people really go through. I think it has a message, but I don't know what. Davey was just feeling lonely and felt like she was in a bad soap opera, but she managed to get through it, and I think the book does have a happy ending. But I REALLY think there's room for a sequel. AND a movie! I loved this book. I reccomend it to alot of my friends and relatives. But not kids who don't know the material in this book. I think I was a little young to read it, but I enjoyed it.

Tiger Eye is a heartfelt and touching story. It all starts out with the death of Davey's father who is killed in the hold-up of his store. Because of his death the story includes many thoughtshots and descriptions to show what the characters are feeling. The story goes on with Davey and her family's struggles and how they compinsate the death of their dad. This story is a great read because the characters and storylines are believable and realistic.I wouldn't recommend this book to people who do not like sappy endings because even though this book is good it can still be a tad predictable. Even with it faults I throughly enjoyed it and hope you do to.

This book has helped me incredibly.
My father died, of cancer, when I was 21. I found myself in Davey's words in so so many areas.
Not only is Davey grieving but she is traumatized and has difficulty with anxiety.
What I loved most though was how incredibly pure and honestly Davey describes her feelings and thoughts.
Nothing is skipped or talked up. She tells her story exactly as it is.
So it's easy to relate to her.
The only thing I didn't find quite realistic is that it takes Davey only 2 sessions with a councelor to
"be done" with her witnessing her father's death.
When she talks with her mother shortly after, she tells her she doesn't need to talk about it anymore.
In reality, obviously traumatized from witnessing her father being shot, as she is, I find it more likely a person would need
therapy for a longer period of time to work everything through.
Not just one single session.
Still, it is amazingly well written and so realistic, you'd think it must be Judy's story herself because
one can't make things and characters so real just up.
My favourite Judy book.
For it's honesty, depth, humor.

The book i have recently read is called "Tiger Eyes" by Judy Blume. It was probably the best book ever written. IT is about a girl named Davy and how she recovers after her fathers death.
The plot starts out in the city of Atlantic City. From her fathers death, her mother decides the need some new scenery. SO they move to mexico with Davys aunt and uncle. In New Mexico it is very dry with a lot of canyons. A canyon is how she met her friend named Wolf.
How this whole book started is when Davys dad died, as mentioned before. Davys family ran a convinient store night below their apartment. One day when Davy went to the beach with her boyfirend, her dad stayed at the sotre to work. Two guys wearing ski masks has walked into the door with guns. Davys dad had always kept a gun om tje cabinet but it was never loaded. HE didnt want his son, davys younger brother, to play with it. Davys dad tried tp scare the robbers away by pointing the gun at them at saying it was loaded. The robbbers shot at her dad and he died instantly. Davy had never gotten over that and niether did her brother and mother. Thats when the decided to visit davys aunt and unlce. Davy never enjoyed it ther at first and just waited and waited until they could leave. Davy just sat in bed, not eating, not sleeping, just pretty much doing nothing. One day when Davy finally got out of bed and went for a bike ride to explore where she was. She stopped at a canyon and set her bike down at the tree. SHe sat at the end of the canyon just thinking about her dad, that night and her mother. She got the idea to walk down the canyon. It was very difficult for Davy and took about an hour and a half. By the time she got down there she didnt know what to do, so she just sat on a rock. Then she spotted somebody walking down the canyon a lot faster than her, asking if she was alright. He got to where Davy was standing and started talking. Since this day they had met at the canyon every day just to talk about life.
SHe ended up being a lot more happu ever since she met Wolf. SHe ended up having to go to shcool there for a while but

I remember the sadness and pain of this book really bothering me and intriguing me at the same time when I was a kid. It's a very emotional book about trying to define yourself after something terrible has happened and you feel like you can't be who you were before. Being a teenager is hard enough without having your world rocked, but when it IS, you still have to go on. . . .

Davey has just lost her father he was murdered and she was the one who found him shot and bleeding. Davey is so hurt and while reading you feel her mother pain and that everyone around her deals with their pain in a different way.
This book was realistic and I had to pink away some tears. I can't find a sequel on this book that's to bad.

Tiger Eyes is a very exciting book that tells about a girl who has troubles in her life. Her dad has just died and what's left of her family, her brother and mother, go to live with her aunt. All the rules for her aunts house are different. Davey doesn't know how to cope with the changes. That is until she meets Wolf. This book shows how to get over tragety and also it shows how making new friends really helps you. I recomend this book to everyone who reads books at all. I definatly don't think that Tiger Eyes should be ban.

Adam Wexler was killed during a robbery in his store in Atlantic City. The unknown assailant or assailants escaped with fifty dollars in cash. He is survived by his wife Gwendolyn, his daughter Davis called Davey, 15 and his son Jason, 7. During the funeral Davey could not cry, but afterwards she laid in bed for days and could not eat anything. Her uncle Walter and her aunt Bitsey - the sister of Davey's father - stayed with the family for ten days.
After the summer holidays Davey and Jason had to go to school again. However Davey fainted several times and so the doctor recommended her to change her scenery. In order to do this the family decided to visit Walter and Bitsey in Los Alamos. During their visit there, the store next to their apartment in Atlantic City was destroyed again. This caused Davey's mother to break down. Walter and Bitsey decided as a result of this to keep the family (Gwendolyn Davey and Jason) in Los Alamos and Davey and Jason had to go to school there.
Davey did not like Los Alamos though feeling that she had nobody to talk to about her problems. She did however find a new hobby - biking uphill and climbing into a Canyon, where she could find herself. There she also met a new friend called Wolf. This 19-year-old boy had nearly the same problem. His father was ill and slowly dying.
It is very difficult for a young girl to loose her father. Davey hated the whole world because somebody killed the man she had the best relationship with and who she could talk and laugh with. After this horrible attack Davey was afraid of everybody. She could not sleep without a bread knife under her pillow and she hyperventilated when she saw blood or a gun. She could not face the facts and tell her new friends the truth about her father's death. What she most wanted was to speak with her mother about the happenings and that her mother holds her in the arm and loves her. But Gwendolyn had to deal with loosing her husband on her own way and felt she had to get `herself together'.
Life was not simple for Davey, because she had not only to deal with her father's death, she also had to cope with growing up because being fifteen is not easy at all. Her whole life had changed, before she lived next to the sea in a big city, then she moved to a village in the middle of the mountains. Davey had to find new hobbies; new friends. She had also troubles with Bitsey and Walter. The two of them forbad Davey nearly everything, they argued that skiing, driving a car, biking without a helmet, etc. are too dangerous for her. Davey had never had and was not used to having such strict rules, her father had loved her so much that she could do nearly what she wanted.
In my opinion this book is written in an interesting way. The topic is described with a lot of feelings and the reader has empathy for the 15-year-old girl, feeling too like they have lost their father. The language is simple as is the diction, so people can read this book without using a dictionary or a lexicon. I would recommend this book to young people of about 15 years, no matter whether their first language is English or not. If somebody does not want to read this book in English there are also translations in sixteen different languages.
The author Judy Blume lives with her husband George Cooper, who writes non-fiction in New York City, and has three grown-up children. Judy has written nineteen books for young people. She receives close to one thousand letters a month from readers and fans all over the world.

Book Review "Tiger eyes" "Tiger eyes" is a realistic book. It describes main characters' emotion very vividly. It is mainly talking about sudden death of a family member. Devey's father was murdered during a robbery at a convenience store. After her father's death, Devey and her family move to her aunt and uncle's house in New Mexico to get over it. While Devey's family stay with her aunt and uncle, she goes through some difficulties to get along with her aunt and uncle who treat Devey their own way with over- protection. But I think the conflict between Devey and her aunt and uncle is not simply because of her aunt and uncle's over protection or lack of understanding of youth, but it might also be because of Devey's concerns that they might be able to take her father's place from her that nobody can substitute. Devey meets a new friend Wolf who is somewhat going through the same experience as Devey. Wolf and Devey become really good friends. This part makes this novel more interesting. In this book, two father's deaths, Devey's father and Wolf's father, are kind of the main theme of this book. I think Devey has learned a lot from going through the two deaths. First, through her father's death, Devey might have realized how hard it is to lose somebody loved without preparation and how many hardship could be brought about from it and moreover, through Wolf's father's death, from actually watching him dying, Devey seems to learn how to face and get over it. I strongly recommend this book especially for those who have lost somebody

I have always been a "reader." Through there years there have been many books read with no real attachment. This is not one of them. As a matter of fact I remember the set up of my childhood bedroom and the fact that I drank a whole bottle of my Dad's diet soda the day I decided to sit down and read Tiger Eyes.
Everyone can give you the "** Note's" version but you should just read it. Dealing with loss is universal, how each one deals is unique.

Death, sorrow, loss, despair, reality, hope, belief, courage. Judy Blume visibly displays all these in Tiger Eyes. Tiger Eyes is about a teenage girl whose father was tragically murdered and how she goes on with her life with his last memory still lingering with her. Davey, the main character, her mother, and younger brother leave their home town of Atlantic City, and move to New Mexico for a few months with her uncle and aunt. Which whom she doesn't quite `mesh' well with. I enjoyed this book immensely. Blume does an incredibly job showing Davey's feelings and emotions. She really pulls a reader into the book and story line. It's easy to relate to because she's just and average girl going through average problems such as boys, school, family, and friends. Yet, it's all deeply effected by what she went through with her father's death. When I finished the book it left me satisfied, but I still wanted there to be more. It was that good. I thoroughly recommend this book, mainly to girls, but it is still wonderful and beautifully written by Judy Blume.

Tiger Eyes,by Judy Blume. Is a magnificent book, and incredably realistic. It's about a young girl(Davey Wexler)and how she struggles to lead her old life again after her father is shot to death at his 7-11 store in Atlantic City,New Jersey. Blume does a magnificent job being extreamly realistic and describing the charecters and adventures through out the book. The feelings and emotions that Davey Wexler goes through, Pull you into the book and make you fell as if you are actually there. It makes me think that Blume must have gone through somthing simular in her own life to understand how it feels to loose someone so special. The describing of the charecters was also amazing. You get such a clear picture of what the various people in the book look like, along with all of their charecteristecs.Judy Blume surely has a gift for making the readers know what Davey and the other charecters are thinking without reading it in the print. I give this book four stars,I highly recomend it to all ages.It doesn't matter if your 10 or 80 this book is an enjoyable masterpeice for everyone.

Judy Blume did a fantastic job with this book. She really stressed real issues that many teens have to deal with. I feel she made a very good point in this book. The message that I had interpreted from this book was that: "No matter how bad life may get, things will always get better." I will recommend this book to all of my friends and I shall also make the recommendation to you to give this book a chance. You won't regret it!

The main character was just offensive to teenagers, meaning she is the stereotype that isn't correct for a lot of teenagers today. I don't think it was very well written and the characters all seemed out of touch with reality. Everything and everyone was over the top, and not in a good way. It's a quick read and not as bad as some books, so it earned two out of five stars.

For starters, I think Judy Blume is a wonderful, inspiring author. I like this book, but it was sort of depressing. It didn't make me feel happy after I read it, but it is a good book if you like things like that. The book was depressing in the beginning, but it ended happy! So I did like it.
