A quick read. An easy read. Great information. This book has changed the way that we think about our "stuff". It has simplified our life. I ended up buying it for my folks after we read it. Highly recommended.

A different way of thinking about how we live (or want to live) our lives. I can't wait to get stuck into the real thing ...my house. The book has really good examples I could relate to. I would recommend giving this book to any young adult when they leave home ... or when buying a new home.

The best and most systematic approach I've seen to helping to systematically declutter our lives that in the last few decades have become overrun with things, the space they consume and the chaos they signal about the way we live. A must for everyone who has a problem with household clutter and doesn't quite know where to start the big cleanup.

The book was a testimony of my cluttered life. I bought it and told my sister to buy a copy, then I bought it on CD so I can listen to it over and over in my car. My sister and I ride in the car nodding our heads in agreement to so many of the Peter's comments. It opened our eyes and we're both taking baby steps to de-clutter. Peter confirmed that we are not alone in our Clutter-Bug Club.

I have bought alot of organizing books to only have them sit on the shelf and become part of the clutter. I got the audio of this book to avoid that and it has so motiviated me to get rid of things I don't use or should of gotten rid of years ago. Peter Walsh does it with humor and compassion but the bottom line is... you are not living if you are managing your clutter. If you can't have friends over until you clean your house you will never do that ever...YOU are a slave to your clutter is that really what you want to be?

I found a lot of good suggestions for tackling...stuff! Not so much 'clutter,' but just stuff--and how to cut back on it and rearrange it in a way that is more efficient. I'm taking a lot of it to heart and gradually going through one drawer, one shelf, one closet at a time. And it feels good!

This book goes beyond the usual "decluttering" books... it gets to the root of the hoarding/cluttering habit and leads you in a direction toward a much healthier and happier life! Thanks for sharing your experience and expertise!

The author offers some very useful ideas about decluttering your home, how to think about your use of space, how to negotiate with other members of the household when changes are called for. The book is worth buying for this, provided you're prepared to overlook the somewhat self-congratulatory, condescending tone of the author.

An excellent read for anyone who has clutter and wants to change from clutter to neat and clean. Peter gives you a step by step way of dealing with removing all of the clutter and creating a living space where it should have been all along in you home. If you are a hoarder then you need this book!

This book has great lessons taught with humor. Peter Walsh delivers lesson after lesson to help uncover your personal clutter type and several ways to bust the habit. I bought the workbook too. Together the book and workbook are powerful declutter tools.

I first heard about this book from Merlin Mann on the show "Back To Work" on the +5by5 Network). If you know Merlin, or the show, you know they're very critical about what they review/recommend. I understand the need to declutter, and want to declutter, so I figured I'd give it a go.

Coming from Merlin, I expected a more "heady" book. The chapter on reasons why we allow clutter was fine, but didn't really shake me up the way they shook up Merlin.

However, the plan contained in this book to declutter is, simply, something I can follow and do. It's something my wife can follow and do. It's something we're going to do. It's something we need to do.

Peter puts everything out there step by step (and, don't worry the book isn't a big commercial for his workbook and home study course) and, from what I can tell/read, these are steps worth taking - steps I hope to be taking soon.

5 stars for being practical. As far as I'm concerned, nothing revolutionary in here, just all the steps you need to take - in the order you need to take them.

As a bonus, and I do hope to get there one day, he has a section on maintenance on your newly decluttered life. I hope to take that on as well.

Clutter is sucking many of our lives dry. It's not an issue (for us at least) of stacks of magazines, bags of ribbon, and a few hundred cats, but it is something we all need to take on. Be it the home, the desk, the mind, there is - for too many - too much.

And this appears to be a great guide to getting it under control. Haven't taken the task on yet - but I will be attempting it soon.

One of my new years declarations was that I'd read a book every week. Join me on this journey? [...]

What a great mix of humor and helpful advice. We didn't think we had That much clutter..and filled our subaru with a load to good will and over 10 garbage bags of just "stuff" that needed to be thrown out. Highly recommend this book!

Some good pointers and good advice. Easy read. Covers most of the reasons why people hang on to stuff. Advise is not as easy to put into practice. I am not a clutter-freak. Things in my house are put away but we have more stuff than we need. Definitely could identify myself in a couple "saver" categories.

Quite frankly, all the information in the book is common sense, no brainer info. However; if you really feel like the clutter in your life is 'all too much' Walsh may just provide the motivation and inspiration you need to change!

The number one message I got was " Get rid of things that aren't important and don't buy new junk".

Fun to read, inspiring, practical--buy this book, read it, and live it. Walsh creates a vision of what your life could be like without all the clutter. After reading his book, I gave my house a long overdue decluttering. His book fired me up so quickly that I couldn't wait to get started. Highly recommended!

This book addresses a universal situation with suggestions that solve the problems of clutter - too much stuff - and motivates the reader to action. I talk about this so much, my family and friends are starting their own campaigns!

A truly inspiring "self-motovating" book, this has led me to join my communities "garage sale" to begin thinning out my oversupply of "treasures".
Peter Walsh has a way of asking the questions that you wonder just why you are keeping all that "stuff" in your home. Thanks, Peter Walsh.
